Devin White Talks Ceilings, Eye Candy, Alcohol And More

February 12th, 2021

No. 45 was talking

Devin White is so brash, and it’s especially fun to enjoy when the Bucs are winners.

In case you forgot, our beloved Buccaneers are riding a franchise-record, eight-game win streak.

White made a visit to Peacock network and The Rich Eisen Show, and savvy Eisen cleared a path for White to unload.

Some highlights:

*The Chiefs offense was “gimicky” and loaded with “eye candy” rather than physicality.

*The Bucs had two safeties out against Green Bay, White said, so don’t tell him the Chiefs didn’t have two offensive tackles.

“On the Bucs’ rise to Super Bowl glory: “It happened a little bit faster than I thought”

*On Todd Bowles: Mastermind and the best in the business. Fits scheme to players’ strengths, “and a lot of people don’t do that.”  … “I know for sure he’s the first and second coach the building every day … 4 or 4:30 a.m.”

*White said Tom Brady wanted him to come in before training camp to meet. But White declined from his country home in Louisiana. “You’re going to have to wait, TB.”

*On whether he had too much to drink like Tom Brady at the Bucs’ boat parade. White said he drank no alcohol. “I’m not a drinker.” But he went out of his way to say teammates deserved to cut loose and that Brady’s dedication to his body is incredible. The parade partying, White speculated, was probably Brady’s first drink all season.

*On the thousands of boats and onlookers at the celebration parade. “I never knew Tampa Bay had that many people.”

*Who has the best hands among Bucs defensive players? “Sean Murphy-Bunting, Mike Edwards, then Devin White.”

*On what’s next for him and how good he can be: “My ceiling doesn’t have a ceiling on it. It just keeps going upward.” White noted that the famed TB12 workouts helped him with his flexibility this season.

  2. Lokog Says:

    Super Bowl champs 😎

  3. Bird Says:

    He is a character

He knows he is great too
This guy has miles and miles of confidence for a 22 year old
I believe him that he will get better ( coverage is only weakness but that got better as year went on)

    Most physical player on team
We need to get him some short yardage touches on 3rd and 1 instead of throwing it 30 yards down field
    😂

  4. Tom Sumner Says:

Check That Lokog…2 X SUPER BOWL CHAMPS!! KEEP GOING!!

  5. David Says:

Awesome! PLEASE Get LVD and Shaq back on 4 year deals. This defense can be dominant if they keep the players here

  6. OBF Says:

    Youthful exuberance!
    Enjoy it kid !
LaVonte David came up the hard way

  7. MadMax Says:

Franchise Shaq again (sorry bro)….Godwin and LD54/AB/Gronk/Fournette will work with us because WE KNOW we’re going to be there again next year….then throw the farm plus next year’s 1st at drafting Trevor to sit behind Brady for a year.

Mutha fn Trevor is coming to Tampa….you heard it here first!

(Do it Mr Licht, youve been following me this far and look where we are…dont stop now my Brother)

  8. gp Says:

My only concern with White is his “100 million dollar man” comment before the draft.
Luckily that bridge is still a couple years away.

  9. Steven007 Says:

Max, you’re smoking some dangerously potent stuff if you think there’s any way on Earth Trevor ends up here. Come on man!

  10. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

The Boat Parade was probably Brady’s first drink all season. Plus, he was drinking Tequila, well known for sneaking up on you,

  11. MadMax Says:

I mean look where we are…look how many cylinders we’re firing on….WE DONT NEED ANYTHING OR ANYONE! Perfect time to trade the farm for our Brady trained QB of our future rule of the LAND! Warriors Unite!! GRAVEDIGGERS!!!! (Psycho Tom feels me im sure)

  12. rrsrq Says:

Extend Donovan, extend TB, to make room for LVD and Shaq, franchise CG14 (Gronk, Lenny and AB have to take a discount to stay)

  13. MadMax Says:

@Steven, remember when i was calling for Brady and the same was being said….yeah, come on man. Are you with it? IM WITH IT!

    WHY NOT!

  14. DaBux Says:

After next season, this man HAS to be extended. He’s the modern version of DB55.

  15. Godlovesbucs Says:

Mad- although that would be amazing, the price to move from 32 to 1 would be astronomical. 3+ years of #1,2,3 or a lot of talented players. It just took 2 first round picks for Stafford. Lawrence would bamkrupt us.

  16. adam from ny Says:

    max –

    we’re in a window here…a small window…no time to focus on that…

    keep sh!t together…

    some patchwork along the way…

    stay healthy…

    and win win win

  17. adam from ny Says:

also i think the glazers see the future with seasoned high end qb’s continuing after TB retires…

    same game plan prolly…

no more upstart, hope he pans out qb’s…

i think those days are done for a little while after brady sets sail

  18. MadMax Says:

    The impossible is possible….just saying

Farm now for the future….thats just how it works

I mean look at our young talent we’re farming from the last few years….

We know how to farm, and sometimes youve got to sacrifice to get to the part of the pasture that reaps and sows the grandest of seeds baby…..trust me

  19. MadMax Says:

I think outside the box….been doing it here for a while now, sorry if it dont work for you…its been working for our Bucs baby.

  20. firethecannons Says:

Hall of fame in the future for Devin White

  22. MadMax Says:

Sadly, Google fines Joe for external links in the comments. And if a link went to a shady site, that could be problematic for Joe. So your issue is with Google, not Joe.

Not if you want to send Joe a small stipend, he’d allow the link.

    Nothing personal.

  24. '79 Defense Says:

Interesting that White doesn’t drink. Good for him. Man, he’s great for quotes.

  25. Robert jojola Says:

Sad truth is some of guys will not be back next year Teams change a little eveb more so after a SB win. That said as a die hard bucs fan til Iam dead I just want to say to every player that played for them this year THANK YOU for all your hard work you did make me proud to say I AM A BUCS FAN THANK YOU. THANK YOU THANK YOU

  26. Brandon Says:

Max. There is a difference between thinking outside the box and being delusional. Lawrence isn’t coming here and you are delusional on so many levels for suggesting it.

  27. Ne+ bucs fan Says:

Trevor Lawrence, LMFAO, then sign Brady son to back him up and learn from him right Max LOL

  28. MadMax Says:

    Lol, all good.

  29. Ne+ bucs fan Says:

Imagine if it happened max, save this page, lol,I’d never doubt you again

  30. Leighroy Says:

Delusional fever dreams aside, I’d be VERY careful about drafting a qb at our spots in the early rounds this year to sit behind Brady. Didn’t work well for the Packers huh?

There will be losses to FA this year, and the top 3 picks will need to contribute in 2021. You can bookmark that prediction, but frankly it’s an obvious one.

  31. Ne+ bucs fan Says:

I know it’s delusional but he took it so well I felt bad lol

  32. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Imagine how great Devin’s quotes would be if he did drink?

  33. Ne+ bucs fan Says:

I know it’s delusional he just took it so well I felt bad LOL

  34. NDOGSDAD Says:

Hey obese ging you forgot the savior bs

  35. MadMax Says:

@NE+, you might be kind of new here hence new to me….ive been around a while, the first or 2nd year Joes got this site going. (i dont post much anymore, work & life keeps me busy)

Anyways, ive had some hits and misses but A LOT more of those have hit. Ive called for many of our draft picks the last 4 years that have worked out (especially in the 1st round), ask any of the regulars here who know me… missed on JW3 and Justin Evans, maybe another, cant think of it right now. All good though. I LOVE MY BUCS!!! I wish I could be a full time scout for them and sell my place and move to Tampa (always loved vacationing there).

I was called crazy when wanting Big V (he wont be able to handle the Florida heat), called crazy when the #5 pick is too high of a pick for a LB when I wanted D. White, called REALLY crazy when I was chanting BRADY, BRADY, BRADY near the end of the 2019 season. I was also hoping Jason would go after Arians, called it a while back.

Anyways, watching me called crazy or delusional or whatever just motivates me more…its worked out so far for my thinking and my Bucs…at least Im consistent and so is the criticism…all good.

If we dont go all in for Trevor, trust me, I have other options….I LOVE DRAFT SEASON!!!
