Perfect Finish

November 2nd, 2020

So what did Tom Brady do with the game on the line tonight in the Buccaneers’ final two drives?

The living-legend QB was 5-for-5 for 79 yards plus a deep pass to Mike Evans that earned a pass interference call.

Joe is just so impressed with Brady, who has just one turnover in his past six games and is now on pace for 40 touchdowns and 8 interceptions this season.

He’s calm and poised and literally everything the Bucs could have asked for when they signed him in March.

Brady finished 28-for-40 for 279 yards and two touchdowns with eight Buccaneers having multiple targets.

Next up? New Orleans and a change for Brady to put the Bucs in the driver’s seat for their first NFC South crown since the 2007 season.

    BENCH JIMMY DEAN

  2. BradyBucs Says:

Bucs need to TRADE for a Vet Corner to start opposite Carlton Davis or they’re not winning anything this year.

  3. 813bucboi Says:

    BL IS WORKING MAGIC

can’t give too many plays away before we face the saints….

Bowles has some work to do but the defense made stops when needed…

    GO BUCS

  4. the_end Says:

Yeah @BradyBucs Jimmy Dean and the so-called SMB are trash CB’s. We actually should’ve been blown out tonight.

  5. 813bucboi Says:

Defense and offense was very vanilla tonight….

    On to NO…

    GO BUCS

  6. the_end Says:

And btw, what has happened to Shaq and JPP? Pass rush is not getting home enough. They invisible and/or close to it. I see why the @Joes want a another pass rusher. They are not good enough. Might be washed up.

  7. BradyBucs Says:

the_end, if Jones had better accuracy the Giants would have crushed us with all his missed throws when Jimmy Dean was burned by his WR.

  8. Chucky Says:

How about that kicker making every single kick. And we need it all of those points!

  9. Hopalong Bucco Says:

Bitch, bitch, bitch!! We won again. DB’s improving every game and by year end will be one of the more effective units in league. Every week you naysayers crawl out and find fault. Bucs are 6-2, quit complaining!!

  10. Jeagan1999 Says:

It was an ugly win….but it was a win! Every good team has a game or two like this during a season, and they find a way to win them! So we’ve proved we can win the blowouts, and now we’ve shown we can win the close, ugly game! Hopefully this exorcises the ghost of the Bears game, and we can get back to blowing out teams like we did against GB and the Raiders!

    6-2 GO BUCS!!!!

  11. jcscycles Says:

This is what “Danny Dimes ” does – looks great most of the game, but ultimately finds a way to self destruct. Sort of like a certain ex-Bucs QB who wore number #3.

  12. BradyBucs Says:

    Hopalong,

I’m HAPPY about the win. Thrilled we pulled it out.

BUT… if you don’t think Dean & SMB are major liabilities on this team, you aren’t paying attention. They will keep us from even getting to the Super Bowl.

  13. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    “He’s calm and poised…” – Joe

Yeah, I could see that when he beat the bench with his helmet, lol.

  14. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Don’t bench J Dean or SMB. Coach them into being better.

  15. Buczilla Says:

    Dude is balls man.

  16. ModHairKen Says:

The NYG are much better than they would appear to be if one were only to consider their record. So, all the doomsayers whining about the CBs tonight, calm yourselves. A win is a win.

  17. Jonathan Limpchimpi Says:

Calm on the field…fiery on the sidelines when warranted. As it should be.

  18. buc15 Says:

I agree with 813. Seems like we tried to play as vanilla as possible not to give the Saints any film to study this week

  19. firethecannons Says:

just like jscycle said Daniel Jones was a good player but invariably self destructed just like Jameis did over and over
Thank God we are off that roller coaster ride!
The Giants always play us hard! It was a trap game. glad we got a couple of picks. Seemed hard to get pressure on this quarterback, he gets the ball out so quick–seemed to make our defense be a split second behind. Glad its over.

  20. ManzielMadness Says:

Lol this is the NFL we’re not gonna blow teams out every week and we shouldn’t expect to. The Ravens barely beat the Eagles a couple weeks ago off a missed 2 point conversion (final 30-28) and I don’t consider them a bad team. Bills barely beat the Patriots this week, Green bay lost to Minn and Tennessee lost to Cincy. I get that Bucs fans have a tendency to overreact but I’m confident in our team. Brady won’t let us lose focus.

  21. Jeffbuc Says:

The end did you watch the same game as me. Jpp had 7 tackles and a sack. Will take that all day every day. And then on our two picks did you see who had there arms around jones. That would be Barrett. Would you rather Jones had just fallen so Barrett got two stat sacks
Or are you like me and would take the two picks he forced. He literally had jones in the grasp on both interceptions and you are questioning his play. Stats are for losers. I like turnovers forced by Barrett. But since they aren’t a stat you are mad at his play. And last note jpp saved a touchdown when he tripped up the wide receiver on that screen. So your two defensive guys who need to step up changed the whole game. With out those two guys we don’t win tonight. But I bet your the guy who loved that jameis had 30tds and 4500 yards last year. And overlooked the 34 turnovers.

  22. Buccos Says:

I guess Brady Buc is unaware that Jamel Dean was second in the entire league in passes defended last year in limited playing time. He must be a Patriots fan who jumped on the Bucs Bandwagon. That’s ok bud, keep coming back!

  23. Rio de Janeiro Bucs Fan Says:

The Bucs weren’t full throttle today. They simply were outcoached all night long. And the players took this game for granted and didn’t prepare well.
Another thing to be considered is Godwin’s absence. Without him, both the passing and the rushing games were hurt. He’s an amazing blocking WR, a sure catcher and the best route runner.
Looking ahead, a vet corner would be a good addition – not because Dean and SMB are bad (they’re extremely talented, imo), but as an insurance and also to provide our young DBs some advice.
And, also imho, we really need another pass rusher. #1 priority.
    But, after all, 6-2, baby!!!!
    Go Bucs!!!

  24. Rod Munch Says:

Brady was way off his game in the first half, pretty awful actually – but he did what a GOAT should do and shrugged it off like he’s been there before. Because, he’s been there before.

His calm is really amazing, even at the end of halfs the way he doesn’t rush and has everything under control is special. But again, you’re talking about the literally the greatest QB ever, so that’s what you’d expect. Still, it’s good to see the Bucs did in fact get Tom Brady, and not a cheap 43-year old Chinese ripoff.

  25. Coburn Says:

Yeah rod… Brady missed a couple of deep ones in the first half that would have made it a different ball game.. but instead of forcing it and causing turnovers he just remained composed and mistake free and got a couple tds

  26. Mike Johnson Says:

perfect finish? what you smokin? Bucs got lucky. We looked like crap all night. Play like this against them Ain;ts and we will get clobbered.

  27. Architek Says:

Some of you guys are just unrealistic.

Giants are a top 10 defense and we won in a potential let down tough game on the road; you’re still complaining…

  28. Coburn Says:

Eh arch I’m feeling like all is forgiven because they won…… But….. Just hoping they didn’t just reveal our weaknesses to everyone else. Feel like scheme wise they just had all the answers to us

  29. Architek Says:

    Coburn,
I agree, there are absolutely concerns. I’m not giddy about the offensive play-calling and the approach. This felt like BA/Leftwich system with mostly hitches and deep intermediate routes. There is limited creativity and spacing but I digress.

I’m just grateful for a string defense, opportunistic offense, and good game management. I don’t like how we can’t scheme guys open and we can’t screen game.

We won and I’m so glad 6-2 is here! We neee to tighten up and better on the details quicker.

  30. Coburn Says:

Yeah arch… Felt to me like they just covered deep and the man corners used the sideline and wasn’t until late in game we actually tried somethint over the middle. Was like what the announcers in another game callwd a tent where you just covered deep and sidelines. Felt like Gronk could have had a big game

Also felt our d wasn’t that strong. Did enough but they could have had another couple tds on us they just flat out missed. Hopefully we don’t suddenly become vulnerable to runs up the gut.. and need that pass rush to get back to form

  31. August 1976 Buc Says:

1979, and 2002 as stated on this blog begore are the other 2 times. 79 lost Championhip game to Rams. 2002 they won Super Bowl. But at the same time, we saw what can happen when the Rhino V Vea is not there. The Giants ran the ball well the whole game. To me the D was exposef by J Garret. Not fun to watch but a win is a win. They got some pressure on Jones but not that much. The secondary is still the weak link. Not like the lost decade but they have to be better. A simple double move on J Dean and suddenly there is 5 yards separation between him and the receiver open for a long TD. Again glad they won, that is why you play. But NY Giants opened up a book on how to play the Bucs. GO BUCS!!!

  32. August 1976 Buc Says:

    1979 and 2002 the Bucs started 6-2 😀

  33. Sorryjackchuckiesback Says:

God this is such an overreacting sight!! You don’t see this kind of fan on other sights …. Just stop with the Jimmy Dean because it’s catchy!! Bunting was the one that gave up the big td and yes Dean looked to be in bad position on a lot of those passes but they still didn’t catch many on him!! He’s a better option than bunting and he just had a bad night!! 2 weeks ago everyone had him as the best corner in the league!! He’s young and is having trouble with the double move!! He’s letting the QB guide him and he’s getting too anxious to jump the route and try to get a pick!!! That’s what gets him beat on those double move routes!! He’s young, he’ll get it!! He hasn’t played as much as these other corners and he’s still got more break up and is close on picks!!! He’ll study his tape from tonight and one thing about that kid is he always learns from his mistakes!!

  34. Bird Says:

Brady is cooler them the backside of the pillow

No more discussions should be had about the change in qbs
This guy is 43 and playing better Then any qb we have ever had

If he doubles his numbers as halfway thru year he has 40 tds and 8 picks
Thats mvp type numbers even though wilson and mahommes will be higher

  35. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

You know Bucboi I kinda thought the same way. I think maybe the staff was so confident in the team that they were willing to struggle against the GeeGoils in order to save the real game planning for the Aints! They better run Jones against them and have Fournette out there with him on passing downs.

  36. Erik Hesson - Fine Artist - City of St Pete Says:

Jamel Dean may have played the worst game by a Bucs CB since the days of VH3 & Ryan Smith etc…. Wtf, Dean???? You looked slow, out of position, and lazy even.

  37. ocala Says:

I was always a fan of Jamies, but there is a big jump going from him to Brady.

If Jamies was the Bucs QB I think the Bucs would be 4-4 right now.
