“Ke’Shawn Really Came On At The End Of Camp”

September 11th, 2020

Rookie love

Maybe the Bucs are more loaded than it seems at running back?

General manager Jason Licht chatted with media today and noted that rookie third-round pick running back Ke’Shawn Vaughn is on the rise.

“Ke’Shawn really came on at the end of camp,” Licht said, adding that if you add up Vaughn’s reps, he’s almost finished with spring practices at this poing.

Licht said he loves his collection of running backs and the implication was watch for the maturation of Vaughn as the season progresses.

Joe was very pleased to hear this, as it was tough to get a read on Vaughn who fumbled in the first scrimmage at the Den of Depression a couple of weeks ago.

Someone said they were set at RB last year. Now Barber and Dare O are gone. Wonder how that happens?

If he isn’t playing special teams, he may not even be on the game day roster…..we have 3 other RBs….
But….nice to know we have young depth…..Rojo & Vaughn are the future.

There were certain people on Twitter a few weeks/months ago who awfully passive-aggressive (without mentioning Joe by name) that after drafting a running back in the third round the team was no way going to add a running back in free agency.

    The team instead added two.

That should tell you exactly what the organization thought of its stable of running backs.

No reason fournette cant be the future, he is only 25.

Of course! What was he supposed to say? “Our rbs suck and this is going to be a long season with them” of course he took the pc way out until after the season to address it.

A first year coach can’t fix all of the mistakes made by the previous coaching staff.

In the end he took him over jk dobbins and axkers
Let’s see how it plays out

  7. Destinjohnny Says:

    Akers

  8. BigHog Says:

YOU PEOPLE : you are never set, teams should always be looking or better than they have!!! HENNY AND HOG …get yo-self some!!!

  9. Jason Says:

Just Googled “what NFL position has the most injuries? ”
    The answer: rb’s

  10. VABucsfan Says:

On another note. That Vea pick over Derwin James is looking like a great move by Licht! Dude just can’t stay on the field, reminds me of another safety that can’t stay healthy!!

  11. geno711 Says:

Destinjohnny – I would say that Licht took Winfield Jr. over Dobbins and Akers.

Seems like a pretty good choice as only one of those three are getting majority of snaps right now but we will see in the long run.

Fournette is the future and the present

  13. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

RB went from being one of the weakest position on the team to being a strength.

  14. PSL Bob Says:

I love having a stable of RBs to lean on. I think McCoy probably won’t be used much, but Fournette, Rojo, and Vaughn seem like a pretty solid backfield.

Yes, well I for one always trust that Jason is being 100% truthful when discussing his own draft picks.

    Always.

With RoJo, Fournette, McCoy & Vaughn…The 2020 roster is LOADED at RB….Best chance at running game success, since Dunn & Alstott were roaming the sidelines.

  17. DalvinCookRules Says:

“Maybe the Bucs are more loaded than it seems at running back?”

This sentence might’ve made sense before the additions of McCoy and Fournette… maybe replace that with “Bucs might be even more loaded than we thought”.
