“I Was Amused When They Handed Us The Lombardi Trophy In July”

September 16th, 2020

Bucco Bruce Arians spent the 2018 season working for CBS, and he was a media darling before that and has been since.

So two things do not surprise the head coach.

Speaking to Joe and virtually assembled media today, Arians was asked by Sage JoeBucsFan.com columnist Ira Kaufman about how the national media collectively is crushing Tom Brady this week, with some declaring Brady is washed up based on one Tampa Bay game.

Arians was laughing before Kaufman finished his question.

“I was amused when they handed us the Lombardi trophy in July,” Arians quipped.

Yes, Arians hears the shrieks about Brady, including from his longtime friend and former CBS colleague Tiki Barber. And Arians knows it’s just the NFL during overreaction Monday/overreaction week.

Also, after being asked about post-Saints comments some considered to be Arians throwing Brady under the bus, Arians noted that he and Brady are all good and always have been,

Speaking of a national frenzy about Brady, if the Bucs do the unthinkable and lose Sunday, it would be a fury never seen previously in Tampa.

That’s the problem! He himself thinks they won the Lombardi with all the moves they made and doesn’t have to coach. Starting to wish they kept Koetter and brought in Bowles. At least SHAMELESS would have had a chance to prove he could get better. This offense is trash. What is the point of big numbers if you turn it over so often? This offense is ALL or nothing. Hope Brady can avoid the turnovers going forward or we won’t make it to the 11 wins I thought we’d get this season.

    GO BUCS!!!!!

The Koetter / Monken offense was probably the best we have ever had. However it also came with smitty and the worst defense you will ever see in football. Let’s just hope Ariana pulls his head out of his ass and can produce a top 5 offense without the turn overs.

I doubt he will think it’s funny if they lose Sunday. He will be on notice if that happens and there will be nonstop chatter about this dream team not working out.

    @joe

Ole stale biscuit was “amused” but it did not stop his media tour did it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And guess what comes with that “winning the off-season trophy”!!!!!!!!!!!!! What comes with it is just about every team coming with their best shot against the bucs on gameday!!!!!!!!!! Watch even the lowly teams be very competitive against the Bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you thought teams were gunning to put the Browns in the ground last year, wait until you see the Bucs the rest of the season!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    go bucs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No way. Koetter was all yards and no touchdowns. At least now, we have an offense that scores in the red zone.

I invite some “know it all” fans to do do this. Watch every press conference that you can find that Bruce Arians holds. Listen closely. Then think about what he said. Then give it a rest for a day or so and think about it again. Try to recall what he said said the last time you heard him when you hear him again. From time to time re-watch some of those press conferences again.

Also watch what he does and compare it to what he says over time.

This is what I have been doing ever since BA walked through the doors of One Buc Place. (Yes I know it has the name of of a specific medical enterprise, now.
    😼 )

If you should choose to follow my advice to a small degree you WILL change your tune in regards to Bruce Arians.

Do I have to spell it out you Oh Odiferous One, Surreal Realist and a few others of the same ilk who like to spout off at this site.

    In BA I trust!

I agree that each and every team in the NFL will be gunning for the Bucs.
No matter though, our talent should allow us to win nearly every game.
However, I see this next game as a must win for us.
Because if we fall to Carolina, at home, I can see our entire house of cards falling totally apart.
Losing to the Saints is one thing, but to lose to Carolina is another matter.
