“We Can Win”

August 31st, 2020

Confidence.

In the immortal words of former Bucs great Warren Sapp, the Bucs believe.

If anyone watched the wonderful “America’s Game” episode on the Bucs winning the Super Bowl in the 2002 season, a key element in the hour-long documentary was when Sapp said the Bucs turned the corner from the creamsicle-clad Yucs to winners.

If was the confidence the defense had in its coaching to put players in correct positions to succeed, Sapp said.

“We can win!” Sapp exclaimed.

It seems, per Bucco Bruce Arians, the Bucs now have the same swag.

Arians was asked today when the team will be able to build the confidence in themselves to strut into the Superdome in less than two weeks knowing they can and will whup the slimy Saints.

Arians said the team is already there.

“I think they already have that,” Arians said. “I don’t think there is a doubt in our mind that if we stay healthy, that our football teams is good enough to win the division.”

Saying this is easy. Backing up those words is far different.

It’s not like the slimy Saints are indestructible. For crying out loud they have lost their last two playoff games. Remember: The Bucs beat the slimy Saints two years ago in the season opener when journeyman quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick tore up New Orleans.

And before that, when YouKnowWho was a rookie making his first road start, he beat the slimy Saints in their own crib.

With a loaded roster on offense and an underrated defense, sure the Bucs can and should be able to hang with New Orleans.

And maybe just beat them.

So in other words, we are New Orleans READY!?

I believe our first game of our 2002 SB year was the Saints…..and we lost. Not making much of the first game.

Home game. Chucky got a tight arse late in the game. Fourth-and-short inside Saints territory and punted.

Win or lose that 1st game, the Bucs will be in the play-offs this year.

  7. Snook Says:

Saints have started slow for a few seasons now. Getting them in the Dome with fake crowd noise on Week 1 is definitely a good thing for us.

Have you been following the Saints?

    1. Brees’ BLM comments made national news and ignited teammates.
    2. Hurricane Laura. Parts of the state will be without power for 30 days.
    3. 11 starters sat out practice for 2 days for BLM protests
    4. Kamara is holding out. Missed 3 days straight with more expected.

    That’s a lot of distractions!

I like the Bucs chances in Game 1.

The Saints start: Bucs, Raiders, Packers. That could be a tough three weeks if Kamara holds out.

  9. Ndog Says:

Yeah we could probably win if we had a component coach who didn’t take penalties on purpose to move his kicker back or that actually takes accountability for anything.

  10. Ndog Says:

Just seeing this guys face or hearing his name makes me want to throw up.

You better win Kangol or YOU WILL BE GONE!!
