Vea & Suh: The Best

August 24th, 2020

Underrated?

One former NFL offensive lineman believes the most underrated defensive tackle in the NFL is a guy who is long in the tooth.

NFL Network analyst Brian Baldinger just could not stop crowing about the play last year of Ndamukong Suh. Baldinger, as he likes to do, broke down a video of Suh’s highlights and then Twittered it out.

Suh had a rap with the Lions and later the Rams of taking plays off. Baldinger showed in his Suth highlights that reputation is just nonsense.

This is a fun clip to watch.

    another great baldy breakdown

  2. FactTeller Says:

The eye in the sky NEVA lies…. now with a healthy EDGE rush tandom on Shaq/JPP this Defense can truly be special this year.

    All Facts
    Go Bucs

  3. Jaymiss Pick6 Again Says:

Suh is a very important cog in our defense..glad we resigned him.

  4. Bucsgotachance..todonothing Says:

Sign earl thomas and vet minimum brown…it’s a all in year

  5. Roy T. Buford Says:

    Good stuff, Joe.

  6. gotbbucs Says:

    @Bucsgotachance

Two of the best programs in the NFL want nothing to do with Earl Thomas. His play no longer trumps the nonsense that he causes in the locker room. The Ravens are arguably the best evaluators in the NFL, and they want nothing to do with him after one year.

  7. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

Best word to described Suh is violence. If you watch his hands, Suh throws and smacks around lineman so well, it’s almost impossible to grab hold of him.

  8. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Our entire Defense returns…..we add Winfield…..same coaches…….the shortened off-season will have minimal impact on our Defense…..looking for it to be very, very good this year.

  9. BringBucsBack Says:

Nice plays but, that run-down of the WR (Cookes?, the speedster?) was quite impressive.

  10. Clean House Says:

    Favorite player on the team

  11. August 1976 Buc Says:

With Vita and Suh anchoring the inside & JPP and ‘Shaq on the outside, they help form a legit front 7. Just hope the secondary can pull their weight. One thing that is going to help the Defense. They will not be 7-10 down multiple times before they catch their breath because of a turnover. In the Houston game they were down 10-0 and the Defense had not even given up a first down yet. GO BUCS!!!

  12. ATrain Says:

The two best up front DLineMen this year

    They will destroy

  13. Couch Fan Says:

I remember being so angry when we just missed out on drafting this guy and were forced to drafted that other 93 right after….

  14. Alanbucsfan Says:

Suh was 3rd on team in QB hits behind Barrett and JPP.
He is “essential “ worker on the D.

  15. Todd Says:

    World, meet WOOD!

  16. Max Vasher Says:

Totally agree with Baldy. Big Suh fan! Wanted him on this team since he was drafted before Tampa could get him. We’re fortunate he ended up a Buc in the end. Great player.

  17. Bucsfanman Says:

Hey look, I was a GMC defender for years. I still don’t think he’s a “bad” player BUT, watching Suh play last year….freakin’ forget about it!!!
I have happily eaten crow almost every snap Suh plays for us. Beast! A TRUE “Beast”!

  18. geno711 Says:

Suh and JPP snap counts every year are just special. There is a reason we got those seasoned professionals and our defense is better.

  19. BT Says:

Saw the critic on Suh and Vea by a former interior defensive tackle from the Bucs. It is true that they aren’t primarily penetrators to collapse the pocket. It is true that they are both excellent at holding up the offensive lineman, then rag dolling them to stop the run at the line of scrimmage. We can let Khalil Davis come in on passing downs to get more pressure, if his quick twitch is as they say. Everybody’s happy.

  20. PSL Bob Says:

BringBucsBack – Agree, man he turned on the burners running down that player.

I saw on the Bucs site that the defense had 359 QB pressures last year, most in the NFL. That’s over 22 per game. That’s because the running game is getting shut down and pressure on the QB on throwing downs is coming from all directions, center, edges and LBs. Hope it continues this year.

  21. Chris@Apple Roof Cleaning Tampa Says:

Suh and Vea together, make it very hard to run on us. I agree that we have the best pair of defensive tackles in the NFL.

  22. Buczilla Says:

Sapp is one of my favorite players ever, but I’ll take Baldy’s opinions of our dt’s over his any day. Baldy is fun to listen to and should get his own show. 😜

  23. Mrs. Entertainment Says:

Do your remember the show “AFC and NFC Playbook”? It was on the NFL Network years ago. Baldy and other analysts and talking heads would break down conference film and talk about match-ups each week. I loved it. Wish they’d bring it back. Baldy was one of the best.

  24. Brandon Says:

Impressed with that hustle by both on that last play.

  25. ©MadMax Says:

Thats right!!!! Gholston blowing up too, then rook KD…pshhh! Man Im so stoked. CANT WAIT!

Aints going down in a blowout in that first game…im even giving them 10 points on bets to guys at work…ive found two dummies so far for $20 each lol…but most are staying away from that bet because they know better!

  26. unbelievable Says:

Watching him run down that WR at the end!!! That got me pumped!

Really glad we were able to keep our D-line together besides Nassib. And I think out of anyone, he was the easiest to replace. Well done for a change, Licht.

  27. teacherman777 Says:

    Gholston- cant be moved.

    Suh- cant be moved.

    Vea- cant be moved.

Best down lineman of a 3-4 since the Steelers.

    Our 3 pillars!!

  28. David Says:

Those two in the middle with Shaq and JPP healthy and playing the full year… Bring in Gholston …
It is a great line. I expect more consistent pressure on the quarterback. Mainly I want to see VEA take a leap forward and be the disruptive beast in the middle we know he can be week in and week out
