Odds Of Signing Leonard Fournette

August 31st, 2020

Wagering.

In these dark days of sports, few things lift the spirits of sports fans quite like degenerate gambling.

And within hours of the Jags tossing 25-year old running back Leonard Fournette to the curb, a man who produced 1,674 offensive yards from scrimmage last year, Bovada has provided odds that the Bucs will sign him by Week 1 of the NFL season.

Per Bovada, an offshore gambling outfit, eight NFL teams are in the running for Fournette. Yes, the Bucs are one of the eight including the Dixie Chicks, the Seahawks, the team formerly known as the Redskins, the Bears, the Texans, the Belicheats and the Steelers.

The Bucs are -350 to sign Fournette, behind Chicago and the Belicheats, but ahead of Washington, Houston, Seattle, Atlanta and Pittsburgh.

Of course, because our elected state leaders are sitting on their hands in Tallahassee unlike in many other progressive states, Floridians must use offshore setups to wager, thus sending our money overseas to places like Red China.

Unless, of course, Cousin Vito in Jersey City or Uncle Billy Bob in Biloxi have their cell phones charged this morning.

We seem to like LSU players so that might help

  2. Sarasota Garey Says:

We only have like 2.3 mil in salary cap space left.

  3. Formerly Tampa 2 Says:

Bucs could have had him months ago and didn’t want him. He must be flawed in some way. I’d bet they keep Shady and not pick him up.

  4. buc15 Says:

ZERO unless he takes 2 mil

  5. AlabamaBucsFan Says:

Less than 1 percent we sign him. He would have to beg Licht to sign him for league minimum.

  6. Yehaw Says:

WHY WOULDN’T THE BUCS SIGN THIS MAN. THEY HAVE A 1 YEAR WINDOW TO WIN THE SUPERBOWL. SIGN HIM. SHADY WAS A GOOD PICKUP, KEEP HIM AND SIGN FOURNETTE TOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PUT CALAIS OR VAUGHN on IR. WHO THE HECK CARES ABOUT ROJO’S NON PRODUCTION. RIDE THE HOT HAND TO THE PLAYOFFS

The Best teams in the NFL are FULL of talented depth.

  8. Elita Vita Says:

If we could afford him….why not? Let the RBs battle it out and may the best ones win! There’s no doubt that improving both the running and kicking games are priorities in this all in season.

  9. Chris Says:

I still don’t think we hang onto both Brate and Howard.
To be determined but yeah I can’t see it. We’re too tight up against the cap Right now.

  10. Roster Says:

Needs to clear waivers first to void his contract, correct? No team will sign him to more than a base league min deal with incentives for only 1 year.

  11. Bucsfanman Says:

I’ll never say “never” but, I don’t think they’ll sign him.
My question is whether or not he’s a good “fit” for this team?

  12. Snook Says:

No thanks – Never played a full season – Averages 4.0 yards per carry and that number was boosted by his 2019 stats. PASS.

  13. 813bucboi Says:

FOURNETTE, ROJO, SHADY sounds good to me….

    GO BUCS!!!!

  14. JimmyJack Says:

Not a bad idea but I’d rather see the Bucs wait and jump on other players that might become soon avialable. Like maybe a little pass rusher or something.

I’m comfortable starting the season with who we got at RB. RB is an easy position to fill midseason if you need it…….considering you are a contending team. There’s always a few good RBs testing up their bodies so they can join a winner midway and go for a ring……I say we got the team that could entice somebody to join us midway with a chance to win a ring.

  15. Clean House Says:

According to most of the contributors here, it doesn’t matter how many yards you got the year prior

5109 wasn’t good enough even though it was a league high.

  16. Nate$Buclife Says:

trade cameron brate bring him in

  17. Wesley Says:

Too late we already signed McCoy, too bad.

  18. SlyPirate541 Says:

Not a single GM was willing to give up a 6th for Fournette.

    Hmm? Reminds me of someone?

Oh, yes! Not a single GM wanted Winston.

We just took out the trash. Let’s not think someone else’s is our treasure.

    Pass.

  19. Sumosam Says:

Fournette is a damn good back. What are some of you guys thinking? If there is any possible way to get that kind of quality back, the move has to be made. The guy has speed and power. He would be great here. These are exciting times!
