Brady Focused On Mechanics During Vacation

July 21st, 2020

After years covering the Patriots for CSN New England, Mike Giardi moved to NFL Network and appears to have become the network’s resident Tom Brady insider.

Giardi was bellowing today about how Brady spent the past couple of weeks in Montana to “fill his bucket,” recharging with family for the season ahead after another full season and the playoffs.

Brady, however, brought his “personal body coach” Alex Guerrero with him “and worked heavily” a lot of time on mechanics, per Giardi.

The Bucs’ new quarterback is pumped up for his first Buccaneers nasal swab for The Sickness and to get rolling in Tampa, Giardi said, adding Blaine Gabbert is claiming Brady has embraced the playbook but is balancing injecting his own ways and preferences.

All this talk has Joe jacked up for opening day and the end of the longest freakin’ offseason in history.

As for Brady being laser-focused on mechanics, maybe that’s normal for him, but maybe it’s not. Perhaps Brady is realizing he has to be extra sharp with a group of receivers that will have little time to get in sync with him.

Didn’t another new Buc work on his mechanics before he came to camp? Wasn’t he a kicker drafted in the second round? Please tell me I’m remembering wrong and everything will be okay.

  2. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Yeah but don’t forget Bill, that kicker was so disconnected from reality he is on record saying “People only remember the kicks you miss not the ones you make” on Hard Knocks.

I know this has nothing to do with this post – watching Bucs v. Cards 2017 (The AP game choice), BA is the coach – Swaggy Baker makes a play by abusing Earl Wadford, nest couple plays, holding on Earl Wadford. That’s all.

  4. SB Says:

My next door neighbor is the food and beverage Manager at the Yellowstone Club and based what he said the only ‘mechanics’ he has seen Brady working on is his Golf swing.
Granted he may be able to handle 18 a day and still get in a full days work with the competitor he is.

  5. Roy T. Buford Says:

This is why he’s the GOAT. Many try to mimick him, but they can’t compare. There are three, no, four rare guys out there currently….Tom Brady, Patrick Mahomes, Russell Wilson, and of course, the great Drew Brees.

  6. Dewey Selmon Says:

Sad that we won’t see him in preseason in a Bucs uniform. Week 1 will be epic to see him in pewter and red although week 1 he’ll be in white.

  7. BucEmUp Says:

Brady has said in past interviews (long before coming to tampa) that no matter how long he plays that practicing mechanics and repetition will always be a top priority, and to never get comftorable. Bringing a coach on vacation that may he new though…

    Maybe he’s like Kato Kaelin.

  9. AJ Says:

That’s QB, TE & Receivers full of Pro Bowls. Don’t think it will take long to get in sync.

R U serious Bill? Comparing a rookie kicker selected in the 5th round to a 20 year GOAT with SIX SB titles. I still like our chances.

BTW speaking of kickers. Does anybody know about Elliott Fry from South Carolina who is in camp apparently to challenge Matt Gay? I say camp…wrong…I mean on the Bucs official roster and expected in camp.

  11. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Idk if Bill is talking about Matt Gay or Aguayo.

This is just what the great ones do!
I really hope we have a season.

Roy T . Brady is not better than Dan Marnio, John Elway, Warren Moon , Brady have been on great teams with defenses that has been ranked top 5 ever year . He’s been on complete teams and now that they push the quarterback position they tell yall that follish stuff and every body believes them if they say it enough. Lol lol

I certainly accept your arguments about the talent of the others but Marino simply did not get it done. John Elway got it done but not nearly as often and he played on terrific teams as well…

Warren Moon is a special case. I won’t argue with you about Moon. He’s a lot like Ali who had the prime of his career snatched in his draft dispute.

Because of his race…remember the time when many believed a black could not play QB…seems bizarre today but as an old dude I remember that well. There were plenty of black players who suffered from that imagine including Doug Williams right here.

But NO player’s career and stats suffered as much as Warren Moon’s over racism. He got left out of a freaking 12 round draft…twelve rounds and nobody saw his potential. He dominated the CFL for a half dozen years and finally coming to Houston to establish his NFL rep.

He has at least gotten recognition. He is the first black QB and the first undrafted QB to reach the HOF.

Moon was a winner! Brady is a winner…more so perhaps than Moon if you consider their post season records.

Stpetebucfan I respect your statement but I believe when you look at the teams that Brady played on and when you look at his style of plays and I mean play book . He played in a system that is very friendly to quarterbacks like easy throws short passes in the middle of the field dump offs to runningbacks that’s why he is still not the all time passer now he’s close but when I saw other quarterbacks do good in that system . And when they go to other teams they flame out . It’s been the system that Brady has been apart of that helped him and ain’t nothing worng with that . If Brady was at least 33 or 35 I would be more happy . For me I’m ready to build a dynasty . I just don’t want no more one hit wonders at least be in the picture of the championship every year . It’s time to bring in the right coaches and players to start the process that’s what I’m waiting for now . I hope we win it all this year but I’m looking long term .

Look at the talent surrounding TB12!! He works harder! He is driven plus he fuels the motivation of all on the team, including the defense who he challenges every day in practice!! He also has no stupidity like Spam Newton! I can’t wait for Belichick to de-nut Spam! Can’t wait for Spam to try competing with the Patriots receivers!!! 1st round pick Harry had 109 yards in 2019! Edelman was good but playing hurt most of the season!! Those TE’s will seriously help running game when exposed to Gronk’s awesome blocking skills! Receivers are off the chart!! Buckle up Bucco’s cuz 2020 is going to be fun if the Huwan flu doesn’t ruin the season!!

  17. Dangeruss Says:

The Buccaneers have not had a playoff game in more than a decade. TB12 may be a to hit wonder for the 2020 and 2021 season, but I guarantee you it will be the best two seasons in the last decade or more. Lets gooooooo!!
