Among The NFL’s Worst

October 28th, 2019

So what do Ryan Fitzpatrick, Baker Mayfield, Josh Rosen and Marcus Mariota have in common with the 2019 edition of America’s Quarterback, Jameis Winston?

Of all the QBs in the NFL this season that have attempted more than 100 passes, only those fabulous five have completed less than 60 percent.

Jameis is at 58.2 percent on the season, wedged between Fitzpatrick and Mayfield.

The Jameis defenders will be quick to blame his receivers, a largely veteran corps that includes two of the very best in the game. Sorry, Jameis defenders, if you think Chris Godwin and Mike Evans don’t fight for the football, Joe suggests you buy a subscription to NFL Game Pass and watch condensed games all week like Joe does.

Like Mayfield, Jameis leads the NFL in interceptions with 12. Sure, they’re not all on him, but every QB can say that.

To put those 12 picks in perspective, if Jameis had six picks right now, literally half as many, he’d be all alone on the NFL stat sheet with the 12th-most picks in the league. Also, Bucco Bruce Arians said in the winter that he could tolerate Jameis having one interception per game. The 2015 No. 1 overall pick is nearly doubling that pace.

Fumbles? Joe won’t go crazy there today, but Jameis now has 46 fumbles in about 4 1/2 seasons. Look at the all-time list of fumblers and good luck finding a quarterback who has fumbled that much in so little time. Yeah, yeah, they’re not all Jameis’ fault.

Jameis just isn’t improving, despite what many consider superior coaching.

    LOL……………smacks forehead…….. LOL

was a good game yesterday though. Can’t blame it all on JW, but he was the difference maker in the W/L column.

  2. SteveK Says:

    Thank you, Joe!

I am sickened by the Winston apologists continuing to give him a free pass. Thank you for calling out the truth: he’s just not getting better.

  3. Robert Says:

wait, what… I just read the article. is this JBF.com????

    can’t be!

  4. SteveK Says:

Turnovers lead to losses. James has too many turnovers to be a nfl starter.

  5. 813bucboi Says:

    JW is a bust

    Simple as that….

    GO BUCS

  6. SteveK Says:

    Robert,

We need the truth. I’m sickened by fans continuing to put lipstick 💄 on this pig 🐖. Enough is enough! We deserve a new QB and GM.

  7. SteveK Says:

What are the chances the Bucs keep Licht and Jameis in 2020? No one will buy a season ticket. That’s a crap ass combo. Losses. Losses. More losses than Dominik!

  8. Bruce Blahak Says:

JAYMISS WINSTUNNED is a terrible QB! When will you realize that? Team is going nowhere as long as he is the starting QB…..FACT!

  9. Petty Officer Buc Says:

Now to be fair, have you counted the balls thrown to the other team?

  10. Rick Says:

Only one that needed convincing is you joe.

  11. Robert Says:

@ SteveK……the JW homers can’t HANDLE THE TRUTH!

lol.. I been saying this for the 3rd year, and we missed our trade window last year…..

they damn sure better deal Brate, so I guess I agree with your GM comment. they miss a LOT of opportunities to trade players/are horrible at timing.

last year JW and that fast WR …one or the other should have been traded, and perhaps Brate as well because Howard was kicking ass

  12. Locked In Says:

I really tried to wait for Jameis to turn things around, but I just don’t see things changing. Yeah, a better OLine and the defense… but every time he drops back to pass I find myself waiting for the next INT or sack strip fumble.

  13. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

    …..just waiting for the FSU apologists to blame 1.the defense 2. Arians 3. Leftwich 4. Licht 5. O line 6. refs 7. the schedule 8. DB’s 9. the receivers 10. Barber 11. Erica Kinsmen 12. the uber driver….

  14. Sharthappens Says:

On queue Joe. I am available to intern for you.

  15. SteveK Says:

It won’t turn around. It hasn’t yet. No improvement. Same dumb ass turnovers. They can’t all be on everyone other than the QB.

  16. SteveK Says:

How can the Winston Apologists continue to believe Jameis will get better? What does he do good/better than all QBs (and I’m not talking about turning the ball over)?

  17. Pete I Says:

JL has had 5 years to put a better team around Jameis ” meaningless stats ” Winston America’s QB, and they haven’t. Why does anyone think they will next year?

Jameis ” meaningless stats ” Winston America’s QB is not on track to be in the Ring of Honor at Ray Jay. Despite all his meaningless stats.

  18. SteveK Says:

Get ready JBF nation. The truth seers will need
To fend off July Joe and company. I wish I could watch a game with them so I could see how they absorb the madness and clear their messiah of blame?

  19. SteveK Says:

How do the Glazers sell season tickets with Licht and Jameis?

  20. SteveK Says:

Why doesn’t BA hold Jameis accountable? Is Jameis mentally weak? Why does the secondary, the O-Line and the receivers all get to share the blame and get publicly scolded, but Winston is above reproach? A damn shame.

  21. SteveK Says:

I’m fired up. The mental gymnastics that the Winston apologists provide is unreal.

  22. AlteredEgo Says: Your comment is awaiting moderation. Says:

    Really ??????????

  23. Petty Officer Buc Says:

Yes Jameis is mentally weak. I do not exaggerate when I say that he couldn’t handle Fitzpatrick winning games while he was suspended, especially the DeSean Jackson Chemistry and others in the locker room.

There is a reason Brucie sent Fitzpatrick packing while teams like the Saints and Titans value the backup QB position.

  24. SteveK Says:

    Petty officer,

Good point. I’m over Jameis at QB. It can’t continue next year, can it? If it does we will get the same damn results.

  25. Bucnjim Says:

Well when you have to get rid of your backup QB because he is a threat to the starting QB’s mental stability then yes mentally weak comes to mind.

  26. NOLES Says:

    Steve K…..

I wonder how many people would buy season tickets if they brought back JW & Licht….

I won’t even watch on TV anymore if they do that… my God what a Lost Franchise….

  27. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

Jameis1of1 is crying while reading this post

  28. NOLES Says:

Can we send the BUCS to Montreal & keep the rays….

Just saying one of those teams actually plays with heart & represents this area… the Bucs not so much

  29. Petty Officer Buc Says:

Let’s get the #WinstonDefenseForce talking points out there early, shall we:

    *WRs ran wrong routes
*What about Peyton Manning’s stats taken out of context?
*BEST QB BY AGE OF 25 IN NFL!
    *Buccaneers QB records holder!
    *YOU DON’T KNOW FOOTBALL!
*WE NEED AN ALL PRO OFFENSIVE LINE LIKE THE JOE GIBBS HOGS
*What if he signs with another team?
*We let Steve Young go, ignore all the other Bucs QB busts.

  30. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Play Griffin

It absolutely can’t be worse, a high school QB can run this high school offense, maybe without forgetting the snap count

  31. Chris K Says:

It’s time.. It’s time for the ones who promised the Messiah and the others who were holding out hope (me) to call what it is. It’s time to move on. Anything short of winning 5 to 6 of the remaining nine games is going to be a failed season and unfortunately ticket sales will be almost non existent next season without the change. I truly believe this team can win as soon as next year with a veteran behind center. We don’t need flash, we just can’t have this non sense anymore. A Brad Johnson type or something close should do it. I don’t believe Arians will stick around long enough to develop a young Qb, so let’s give him his Carson Palmer and let the chips fall were they may. This ship has sailed!

  32. Tampabuscsbro Says:

Whew I am suprised the wINsTon defense force isn’t out in force for this one.

  33. Blue-footed booby Says:

    Saudi Arabia’s Quarterback

  34. Bucsfan951 Says:

I can’t wait to hear the excuses Npuppy and all of the Winston jock riders will come up with this week. We’ve heard the following excuses: o line, lack of running game, receivers, defense, kicker, and most recently, refs. Pretty sure that leaves the punter and coaches left to blame. Oh, and long snapper. Smh

  35. Jean Lafitte Says:

groundhog day ..some are finally coming into the light. We’ve wasted two more seasons now after Jameis’s suspension to admit what we already knew then but was to stubborn to make the change. It is possible to go from worst to first in one season but only if we’re committed to admit mistakes in player evaluation, and willing to cut losses in real time. We can’t be afraid to take some chances. Like giving Griffin a chance to start. Who knows?

  36. Jmarkbuc Says:

Blaming the WR’s. What a joke. I’m sure they all carry extra insurance for career ending injury, trying to catch the things JW throws at them.

No, BA it is Jameis, and your protection of him seems more like protection of Licht. #PAIDVACATION

  37. Bruce Blahak Says:

Just think where this team could be at this point if Winston was sent packing BEFORE last season. 2 more wasted sh*tty years….

  38. Lamarcus Says:

JW is 4-8 when he doesn’t turnover the ball. His team is garbage.

  39. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Lol apparently this was juicy red meat for SteveK. Out of 25 posts 11 of them are by him. Go grab some tissues Steve. You need to clean that mess up of your stomach! Jesus Christ! We all should be dreading how this is transpiring. If you think some rookie is going to come in and change the Bucs fortune you are kidding yourself. This team will be a dumpster fire long after Jameis is gone. They need to do a complete rebuild which will be miserable. If you want to know how this will work just take a look at what is going down in SE Florida right now. Tampa will be in that same boat next year.

  40. Bruce Blahak Says:

I called that too….can him before last year started and move forward…F***!!!!

  41. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Where in the HELL is July Joe????

  42. TexBuc Says:

Look forward to seeing how the rest of this season plays out.

  43. gambelero Says:

Is there schizophrenia at JBF world headquarters? One post is about JW isn’t the problem. The next is he is the problem; we need to move on.

I think I may be suffering from the same malady. One minute, I hear myself saying. “They’d have to be crazy to get rid of Jameis. He’ll go on to have a hall of fame career–just somewhere else.”

The next minute, I hear myself answer my other self with. “He’s just not getting any smarter. He keeps making the same mistakes. Let’s see what RG’s got.”

  44. SteveK Says:

    Touchdowntampabay,

I’m at my wits end. I can’t justify/understand/defend the pay of our QB and the turnovers. If I am forced to have the same QB and GM in place next year, then we will be doomed for the same underachieving results. Sorry I went off, but I’m not wrong. And no change would be insanity.

  45. Bucsace Says:

5 years wasted with Freeman……..5 more years wasted with Winston……Can this team make it 15 years!!!!????

  46. BucFan81 Says:

Good article Joe. However we will still have people defend JW to death. I will admit I am an FSU fan and watched him in college. I supported us drafting him but after he got suspended last year I was done and I woke up to the reality that JW is not the answer. Hopefully by the end of the season those people defending him will also see he is a huge part of the mess that needs cleaned up.

  47. SteveK Says:

    TouchdownTampaBay,

I do think a rookie, paid like a rookie,
Could give us better QB pay AND let us spend more cap space on a DB or DE. Paying $25 million to Jameis ain’t cutting it.

  48. Jmarkbuc Says:

    TDTB

Of course we’re dreading what is transpiring. Do you see anything but a rebuild coming, miserable though it may be?

The solution is to give JW 125M? Or even 27M for one year.

Hire a journeyman and draft a 5th rounder and build everything else that is broken.

Look at SF. No QB the first year, injured QB the second, all the while building both lines, and a defense. Third year get their efficient QB back. All they’ve been missing is a couple WR’s and Lynch is working on that.

  49. rhenry Says:

Winston has small hands for a QB. He needs to play with a smaller ball such as a baseball.

  50. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Gambelero

A tale of two Joe’s. And click fodder.

  51. Tye Says:

Yeah, Yeah!.. Those who seemed surprised are just experiencing reality… JW did not just start playing horribly… 60+ games and play in the last game no better than the 1st… What team in there right mind is lining up to sign him?…
There is a place somewhere out of the NFL for him along with EJ Manuel, JaMarcus Russell, Christian Ponder, Tim Tebow, Johnny Manzel, Colin K…
    History remembering them as Busts!

  52. TexBuc Says:

Technology is great we can get close up tv shots watching a QB throwing then switch to the catch. A wide camera shot would allow us to see what the QB see’s any throw traveling more than 5 yards has to be thrown before the WR breaks to his spot and either it is a nice catch/throw or an Int which 90% of the public see’s as the QB fault. A pass thrown 38 yards down the field (I.E. #3 last INT) means the ball is released about 10 yards from where the WR is currently and to be a catch means the WR must run to that spot and not STOP or Slow down which is what we saw yesterday.

Some of you can root all you want for a new QB, but BA says both INT’s where the result of WR’s not finishing their routes what more do you want?

  53. Jim Says:

A realistic appraisal, albeit painfully slow in the making…

  54. Buczilla Says:

Jameis is not now, nor will he ever be a 25 million per year qb. Get a cheap rookie in the draft and build up the rest of this sorry a$$ team. Jameis is not the second coming of Steve Young folks and he would be damn lucky to have a similar career to Vinny Testeverde. Licht must go as well or we are just spinning our wheels here.

  55. Blue-footed booby Says:

I have been seeing (delusional) people making comments on here talking about how Winston is going to win one or more Super Bowls as the starting QB for another team. Like, is any team in the league even going to bother giving him another chance considering that he is one incident away from being permanently BANNED from the NFL?

At the very best, another team like the Dolphins or the Bengals might (emphasize “might”) ask him to be a bridge quarterback for a rookie QB. Of course, those teams would quickly find out that bridge would be nothing more than a bridge to nowhere and bench him for the rookie QB.

As I have stated before, the only quarterbacks I can remember from 2000 and on who have succeeded after getting dumped by their former teams (Kirk Cousins left on his own will, did not get dumped by the Redskins) are Drew Brees and Peyton Manning. Manning of course was a highly successful quarterback in Indianapolis and the team moved on because of his neck injury while Brees raised his game into pro bowl level QB play in his last 2 years in San Diego after the Chargers drafted Rivers.

  56. Sharthappens Says:

Vegas has JW at 3 turnovers next week in Seattle. He has been at 2.5 all year. The wise guys know something is up.

  57. TexBuc Says:

Everyone now is compared to Patrick Mahomes when their teams loose or underperform to expectations. Mahomes is a GENERATIONAL QB we or other NFL teams are not going to find one as good as Mahomes. Mahomes plays so well his OC gets hired as Bears HC, but it is plain to see that same offense does not look remotely close to how it looks when Mahomes QBs it.

  58. Robert Says:

    LOL……..Karma is a b*tch.

signed Erica & the Uber driver

  59. SteveK Says:

    TexBuc,

Winston isn’t even average. Draft a rookie, expect average play, and use the cap space to buy a DB or DE. Why pay $25 million a year for dog poop?

  60. TexBuc Says:

Jim says: I know it was a post but many do not really understand the level of precision and timing required to complete any pass in the NFL.

  61. Jmarkbuc Says:

What was Mahomes? Like the 12th pick or something?

We need a better FO and scouting dept.

  62. SteveK Says:

I just want average QB play, not the boom or bust play with turnovers out the ass!

  63. TexBuc Says:

    SteveK

I hear you but in MY opinion the QB worth taking is Joe Burrow of LSU and he may end up the 1st QB taken. Unless we find next years Gardner Minshow then lets hope we can that guy but unlikely. Would rather draft an OT then a RB next year.

  64. TexBuc Says:

    Mahomes was the 10th pick

  65. ClodHopper Says:

Does anyone think it will get better after he’s paid? Does anyone expect better receivers after he takes up a bigger chunk of the salary cap? Does anyone expect the DBs to be better after he takes up all that cap space? Does anyone expect the O-Line and pass rush to get better?

It’s simple math. If the rest of the team needs to be allstars for a qb to succeed, the qb ain’t worth paying that big of a chunk of the salary cap. If we pay him we likely say goodby to the little bit of talent we already have and his picks get worse.

  66. Posey99 Says:

Go get Phillip Rivers- He wants out. Draft a young QB for him to work with until he retires. Please god.

  67. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Lol TexBuc, that is what I laughed at all the posters thinking coaching was the key to turning this team around. Jameis with all of his turnovers is probably better than any rookie out there this year (the majority of them fail and fail badly). Mitch Trubisky for Chicago is actually the perfect example of how this usually plays out. The team has so many holes that I think a full rebuild is in order. Coaches are only as good as their players. They might make a bad player somewhat serviceable, but they are not going to make a bunch of bad players and make them good or great. This team has 3-5 win talent. You put Mike Smith or Tood Bowles in as the defensive coordinator of the Patriots and miraculously they will be excellent coaches again.

  68. JameisAlmighty! Says:

It’s Arians fault. He sucks at coaching the best QB Famous Jameis Winston!

  69. JameisAlmighty! Says:

Fire Licht, Byron Sandwich, Bowles, Glazers Fold Franchise. Best case scenario

  70. SteveK Says:

    Tdtb,

    Gardner Minshew
    Deshaun Watson
    Kyle Allen
    Insert young QB’s name here.

We are not getting satisfactory play.

  71. Buc4evr Says:

Jameis is a total bust, nothing can save him from his own stupidity. The guy has at least five brain farts every game. He is unwatchable.

Secondary and O-line need to be fixed. Btw get rid of Perriman.

  72. NO FEAR... Says:

I KNEW IT WHEN THEY GOT WINSTON WE WHERE DOOM AND THEY DRAFTED THE WRONG Q/B , MAYBE IF IT WOULD HAVE TURN OUT THE WAY IT SHOULD HAVE , MARIOTA WOULD BE A VERY GOOD Q/B FOR THE BUC’S AND WINTSON WOULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD Q/B FOR THE TITANS. WE NEED TO TRADE WINSTON FOR MARIOTA … MAYBE THERE STILL I CHANCE IT COULD WORK OUT FOR BOTH OF THEM IN THE SWITCH !!!

  73. D-Rome Says:

This reads like Reasonable Joe wrote this.

This supports what I have been saying for a couple of years now. If you take away all the fumbles and interceptions you still have a QB that isn’t very accurate and a QB that does not throw crisp passes.

  74. SmoothBayRider Says:

@TexBuc Jameis Winston was hailed as a Generational QBs by every FSU fan . Now he’s not ? Lmao , The apologists are brainwashed .

  75. TexBuc Says:

Secondary played reasonably well yesterday with the exception of the 1st and last TD given up. On the the 1st TD secondary was still trying to figure out who was covering who when the ball was snapped = TD. Last and go ahead score Davis was man to man with WR but then turned to look at the QB and blew the coverage = TD. Man to man coverage the WR will tell DB when the ball is coming and DB should never look away from his coverage responsibility. Our OL gave Winston the NFL average time to throw, but our offense still has long developing plays requiring Winston to hold the ball longer. I still vote to draft an OL in the 1st round.

  76. Conte Piscatelli Says:

Quarterbacks with the most turnovers since 2015

    Jameis Winston
    Blake Bortles
    Eli Manning

The other two have lost their jobs, and one has won 2 Superbowls. Why are we holding on? No other franchise would.

  77. TexBuc Says:

    NO FEAR:

I am pretty sure MM can be had very cheaply now if we are willing to assume the rest of the about 11M left this year on his salary.

The old saying it is easier to get a gun slinger type QB to calm down and take the easier short safe pass than to get the CPT Checkdown type QB to take the chance and go for the long ball. Titans have given up trying to get MM to take the shot and he has not been durable so far and missed many games. Having said that I still believe he can be a viable starter somewhere like the Bears.

  78. TexBuc Says:

    Smoothrider

I liked JW coming out of college but I never thought he was generational and likely could be an NFL QB for us for over a decade. I like his ability to operate in a dirty pocket, and they should call more roll outs and not discourage JW from running and taking the yards given by a defense.

Having said that I still believe if BA still has him starting then I am all for it and drafting an OT then a RB next year.

  79. LUVMYBUCS Says:

No reason for a complete teardown.

“IF” you can get anything for Jameis Winston – Trade’em

    Following-Up By Re-signing:
    • QB Ryan Griffin.

    Draft:
    • QB Ryan Finely | Age: 22 | Height: 6′ 4″ | Weight: 210 lbs

    Trade for:
    • QB Jacoby Brissett | Age: 25 | Height: 6′ 4″ | Weight: 235 lbs

    Possible 2019 Depth Chart:
—-Jacoby Brissett | Ryan Griffin | Ryan Finely

Worst case sign QB Nick Foles

  83. T REX Says:

ndogpoop: You people are so stupid. I love Jameis and he LOVES me. (crying) Why are you so mean? ( crying) Leave Jameis alone! (more crying) I’m going to watch Lifetime. You guys are jerks! (crying)

  84. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Luv – Give up draft picks in a trade for Nick Foles? Ok, now you have your scrub QB and spent another pick on a QB. Are you not watching the games this year? Dude, they need more than one draft to try and address all of the issues on defense and the offensive line and you want to waste two picks on QBs! Jesus our fans truly don’t know how bad this entire team is.

  85. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    TDT

I would give up a lower round draft pick or Cameron Brate all day for Nick Foles.

  86. Tampabaybucfan Says:

Hope has turned to sadness….sad, very sad…..so much talent, so little everything else.

  87. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    TDT

Man we got the same holes we always had.

    Passrush
    PressCorner
    Offensive Lineman.

  88. Matthew Fifer Says:

    @Conte Piscatelli

We are holding on because we hired a coach that everyone gives too much credit too. We still start Winston because Arians continues to make excuses for me. He literally said not one of his turnovers was Winston’s fault this week….did he watch the game?

Frankly, I thoroughly believe at this point that we still start Winston because Arians made such a huge deal about coming here because we have Winston. He doesn’t want to be seen as wrong/at fault.

On top of that Licht doesn’t have the fortitude to try and override BA which is just on par with his character. He is completely spineless. If he had even half of a single testicle he would force the issue with BA over Jameis and be searching for someone to offload him, but we know that will never happen because it’s what our delusional coach wants.

I didn’t really get into football till I was about 13. I’ve rooted for this team the last 27 years. I will not root for them anymore until both BA and Winston are gone. I don’t mind losing seasons as long as they show progress towards improvements. This season is already over and it’s actually worse than last year.

  89. TouchDownTampaBay Says:

Yes and there is no need to bring in a QB that requires a trade or a draft pick. Hell bring back McCown if he’s willing to play. I am all for tanking for a couple of years before we worry about a QB. Nick Foles will look worse than Jameis playing with this team around him but that is what the fans are clamoring for. Jameis is trying to play his way out of Tampa and if he does it’s time to burn it to the ground and start over. I would only keep the very young players with a lot of updside. Guy like LVD, Brate, Evans, and Barrett have some trade value with careers that will be winding down over the five years this rebuild is going to take. Trade them for as much as you can get and build through the draft. Once the rebuild is near complete then you can try to find a real QB.

  90. Sharthappens Says:

I am even willing to bring in Colin Kapernick as this point. Hell, we have a male cheerleader, female coaches, and the leagues ugliest uniforms. Colin may just for in well.

  91. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    TDT

Right now we need to bring in a Veteran QB & draft a QB
So If we can pick up Nick Foles for a 4th or 5th round draft pick – do the deal.

Nick Foles | Ryan Griffin | Rookie QB

Would be a decent line up for 2020.

  92. Craig Says:

That took long enough, but you finally got there.

    Now, lets move on.

First thing is to see what Ryan Griffin can do.

If he can bridge the QB position the Bucs can shore up the O-line and maybe draft a DE before getting a later round QB. Brady was a sixth rounder.

  93. Bad Influence Says:

Jameis Winston the 737 Max of the NFL

  94. Son of Kobe Faker Says:

    “Denver needs a QB

    Flacco is going IR

    Son of Kobe Faker

  95. SB Says:

Jameis’ completion % is MUCH higher than that. Problem is a bunch of it is to the other team.

  96. JimmyJack Says:

Winston did settle down in that game and actually led us back to the lead. This is noteworthy to me because we have never saw “bad Jamies” change form Midway through a game.

Perhaps there is something to this and maybe coaching has developed a technique to get Winston to refocus during games. Could just be wishful thinking on my part but the truth should come out by the end of the season. Y’all continue to jump ship. I’m staying on

    GOOO BUCS!!!!

  97. Reach87 Says:

Most ignorant, baby 👶, non fan “fans” in college or pro sports. Thanks for self-identifying. Miserable creatures who will never truly enjoy the team sport they know nothing about. Funny to me. Sad. Go Bucs!

  98. Reach87 Says:

Coach says the man played his tail off.. morons with no experience and not getting paid say something else. I say again… morons. Go Bucs!

  99. JimmyJack Says:

I think we saw With stone get “fixed” yesterday afternoon. Took a when but Bruce figured it out. The bad part was it happened a bit too late in the game and too much damage was done. Going forward they will quickly refocus their QB when needed and we will all get the consistent QB play we have been begging for.

Yesterday’s loss was our rock bottom. Now its time to climb our way up. There is sunlight above and the future is bright.

  100. WeeManOfScots Says:

Funny on Twitter the apologists for Jaymiss all have Semenoles on their bios…

And most of them have never even attended college except maybe one of those “buy your diploma by mail”..deals..

  101. Reach87 Says:

Led league in QBR, yds, TD/int ratio weeks 2-5. NFL player of the week. LOL. Yet you lot know better. Funny. Go Bucs.

  102. Reach87 Says:

Jimmy Jack, thanks for the post. Agree. Go Bucs!

  103. Morgus the Magnificent Says:

Reach87 translation….”America’s Grop….errrrr, is really really good!! …unless he really really sucks!!”

i love gaytor fan throwing rocks at fsu when there best player in school history was a gay convicted murderer who took the easy way out by killing himself over a spat with his prison boyfriend…. people in glass houses should never throw rocks!!!!!

  105. RustyRhinos Says:

Has 4120 arrived early? Good post!

  106. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Where are the primary Jay Miss defenders? Ndog? DB55? Come on fellas, tell us why it’s everyone else’s fault but Jay Miss. And please tell us that he’s going to win a Super Bowl somewhere else. That may be true, as long as he’s wearing a cap and holding a clipboard.

  107. Ed Says:

Can we get another “bye” week?

  108. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Moderation Joe? Really? Because I mentioned “Ndog” and “DB55”?

  109. BrianBucs Says:

I think that 4.5 years of Winston excuses is plenty.

  110. ElBajito43 Says:

I never in my life will get an explanation for the “America’s Quarterback” nickname. It just doesn’t make sense, unless someone says, “Yeah I just liked how it sounds.”

  111. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Well, hopefully this post won’t go to “moderation.” Jay Miss stinks and has never distinguished himself other than his idiotic decisions off the field. He’ll never amount to anything as a QB. It’s over in Tampa and his career is over. The only way he wins a Super Bowl is if he’s wearing a cap and holding a clipboard. The longest QB experiment in history is over. Lichtmyballs needs to go with him.

  112. SteveK Says:

Jameis will not be resigned at this rate.

  113. Allbuccedup Says:

Jameis Winston and Baker Mayfield are both busts.

  114. BigMacAttack Says:

It doesn’t paint a pretty picture. Perriman sux. Cut him now. Justin Watson was another wasted pick. Brate forgot how to catch. OJ is hit and miss, can’t block either. Peyton Barber is pure garbage on the field. Someone needs to find a Shaman and try to remove the curse. Good players come to Tampa and get bad overnight. On top of an incompetent GM and a team chalked full of junk players, they have a Salary Cap crunch. How does that happen? Then the incompetent Owners give the GM a huge contract extension. He’s doing a great job, yeah right. The perception of this team in the National Spotlight is it’s pure garbage. The season is unquestionably over. The chances of winning in Seattle are 0.00%. Just forfeit the game and save the embarrassment. I’m taking the over on Jameis throwing 5 interceptions, 2 returned for touchdowns. The chances of winning more than one more game are almost zero. They may get lucky and beat the Cardinals but it’s less than a 50% chance. The Bucs will finish the season either 2-14 or 3-13. Wow! Then throw in the ref hate factor and they can’t possibly win another game. It’s 2-14 for sure. No money to make the team better next year. It’s time for a fire sale now and trade all but maybe 10 ten years players. The rest are near the bottom of the barrel including almost every corner on the team. Ali Marpet is maybe worth keeping. The D line could be mostly kept. Lavonte and White need to keep. Evans and Godwin definitely keepers. OJ and Brate are both expendable. Keep Rojo, he’s getting better. I’d keep Whitehead, Minter and maybe Carlton Davis if he stops doing stupid stuff. He flashes brilliance at times. Out of a 53 man roster, that all I see. 10-15 players max. And the Glosers think Licht knows how to build a team.

    The Tampax Bay Bustaneers

  116. TexBuc Says:

Koetter ran the Four Vertical Offense which equals lots of 5-7 steps QB drops(slow developing plays).

BA’s offense is also the Four Vertical Offense just with a higher emphasis on the running game to Play Action off. Lots of 5-7 steps drops for QB.

QB’s in this offense are asked to take long shots at a higher rate than most other offenses currently in use by the NFL teams. Hence Winston usually leads the NFL in passes with longer travel in the air (Longer passes), which exposes him to a higher chance of INTs, and requiring him to hold the ball longer which also increases sacks and OL having to hold their blocks longer.

Half way thru this season the 3 teams running the 4 vert offense the Browns, Falcons, and Bucs are among league leaders in INTs.

  117. NPRSageBoy Says:

    When will JayMiss be released?

    It’s time….

    Peace, out..

  118. gotbbucs Says:

By year 5, if you’re still having these conversations and questions the answer should be obvious. Throw in the fact that time is up and a ton of cash is at stake and the answer should feel like a slap across the face and a kick in both nuts.

  119. DalvinCookRules Says:

I predicted this would happen when Arians was hired–it is not about our receivers or OL or running game, but having a NEW offensive staff! They are unfamiliar with Winston’s glitches so they have to go through all of the same growing pains Koetter did when they first drafted him.

You have to be able to coach around Winston’s many issues & design the offense to suit his strengths, otherwise, you are going to see some horrendous QB play–that is what I predicted and that is what I believe is happening.

  120. DooshLaRue Says:

Why are all posters here with 87 in their name so retarded?
And the “ I played ball so I know” sh!t is played out Player!

  121. BucsBandit Says:

The Flat Jameis-ers won’t stand for this blasphemy of their King!

  122. Old Sombrero Says:

This organization is horse spit. To continue tolerating this crap can only mean that the organization is terrible from the top down to the guy at the gate taking your ticket. The fact their willing to tolerate this for as long as they have tells me they either don’t care or they don’t know how to fix this or maybe their ego won’t allow to admit they know nothing about football.

  123. Losinghope Says:

Is it that Joe is FINALLY coming to his senses or the fact that there’s multiple Joe’s? Of course jaymiss winstunned would be among the worst in completion percentage

  124. Losinghope Says:

Is it that Joe is FINALLY coming to his senses or the fact that there’s multiple Joe’s? Of course jaymiss winstunned would be among the worst in completion percentage . Idiots wake up

  125. Sharthappens Says:

New Bucs Fan Club just came about this evening: “The Miss-Fitz”!!! Face it we would be 5-2 if he were still in Tampa.

  126. Mister Negative Nancy Says:

Maybe time to start calling him by his last name Winston, like every other player.

  127. Defense Rules Says:

@TDTB … “I would only keep the very young players with a lot of updside. Guy like LVD, Brate, Evans, and Barrett have some trade value with careers that will be winding down over the five years this rebuild is going to take. Trade them for as much as you can get and build through the draft. Once the rebuild is near complete then you can try to find a real QB.”

A 5-year rebuild? And to facilitate it, you get rid of ALL the veterans who could possibly provide the leadership that the ‘very young players with upside’ would need to grow? Pretty sure that Cleveland just tried that approach. How’s it working out for them?

Oh and BTW, exactly what experienced coach do you think would be willing to ride that pony for 5 years?

  128. Buccfan37 Says:

Everybody giving Winston hell while he remains the starter at QB. Overboard reactions competing to denigrate present reality as if the whole team sucks. Not life or death as the present and past remains the bridge to the future. A mountain out of a molehill kind of thing. Patience is the best virtue.

  129. Capt. Tim Says:

    Thank you Joe.
Watching Fitz. Last year- he showed us what this team SHOULD be, with the talent we have.
Instead, we die a slow death, waiting for Winston to become reliable.
Not gonna happen. He still thinks Arm strength overcomes ignorance.
    It doesnt.
He is who his record says he is. And his QB rating!
Most QBs would kill to run this offense.

    Stop the hemorrhage.
    Dump Jameis., Dump Arians.
    Get a young, inventive Coach
This endless seasons of 4-12, 5-11, etc., is chasing off the fanbase.
Have to stop the endless mediocrity.

  130. Buccaneerscotty Says:

    92 turnovers……

  131. Buc4evr Says:

Arians or any coach couldn’t win with this group of players. Overall the whole team is horrible. Jameis is bad, but no QB can win with this team. Likewise any one who coaches this team is doomed. Decades of excuses, I’ve seen it all. It never gets any better.

  132. BucsBandit Says:

    STOP BLAMING THE TEAM!

Too many of you crybabies trying to excuse Jameis’ poor play on the overall bad play of the TEAM.

LET’S GO OVER THIS *ONE MORE TIME*…

No one is blaming all losses completely on Winston, nor is he expected to create all the wins himself, BUT…

The QB position *CAN* be independently evaluated just like any other single position on the team. AND…

Jameis Winston is NOT cutting it as an NFL QB. Even WITH problems with the O-Line or the running game at times, his turnovers, holding the ball too long, accuracy issues, and failure to read Defenses quickly *IS* a major problem and so the Bucs needs to move on to someone else.

REMINDER: YOU could be the QB of the Bucs right now and regardless of how bad so many of the other parts of team are, analysts would still know that YOU are not getting it done.

Well, Winston is NOT getting it done after 4 years. So it’s TIME TO GO.

The After-Jameis Era In Tampa Bay Begins Soon!
