    Can’t wait to listen!

I’m still fuming that Jason Licht is our GM bc he continually drafts the same positions and hasn’t hit on any: CB, FS/SS, and K

The contingent JBF war room would not be worse. Thanks

  2. Brandon Says:

He continually drafts the same positions? WTF are you talking about? There’s basically five positions on offense and four on defense as well as three special teams positions… that’s 12 total positions. Armed with seven draft picks every year and a team is bound to pick the same position over and over again from now until the end of eternity. This is the stupidest argument I’ve seen “fans” make. Should we not draft WRs because we already drafted Scott Miller, Justin Watson, Chris Godwin, and Mike Evans? Your argument is stupid!

  3. SteveK Says:

    Brandon,

    Vernon Heargraves- 11th overall
    Justin Evans- 2nd rounder
Ryan Smith 4th rounder- changed position from S to CB- bc Licht and scouts don’t know what position they play?

MJ Stewart- 2nd rounder- doesn’t have a true position- too slow to CB
Carlton Davis- 2nd rounder- May be ok?

Then there’s this season, Brandon. Why do we have to draft two CBs and a SS? Because Licht sucks and he needs to replace his earlier-premium- picks.

Brandon- I wanted Ed Oliver, Dalton Risner/Greedy Williams, and Darrell Henderson with it first three picks, and all were on the board.

However, our GM and team doesn’t have a pan, and has to try and re-draft the same positions to get it right. It’s disgraceful.

Where am I wrong, Brandon, and this fan hates the losing culture/mentality and I will stick by my sh!tty football time while they occupy the basement.

Who gets out of the basement first? The Buccaneers in the NFC South, our Lovie and the Illinois- Big 10 team?

  4. SteveK Says:

We could have drafted better prospects, but we went to draft a need and have failed over and over again

Barring a dramatic improvement to this team, this year, we can’t have Licht on “auto-draft” with Kickers and DBs.

JBFers could draft better, where are we wrong!? Every time Licht makes a pick, i cringe bc I don’t think he has a plan. I think he just plugs holes and gets too cute. Draft the best overall prospect and don’t overthink it.

Can I expect to have a good secondary this year, or does Licht get another 6 drafts/5 first or second round picks on DBs in the past 4 drafts and not a single STUD in the bunch.

  7. rrsrq Says:

NFL Network showing Jets v. Browns, The Jets do blitz a lot but Tyrod Taylor is quite mobile. They are getting in there though

  8. Steve Munoz Says:

Guys can we please be more optimistic! Bruce Arains and Todd Bowles have there hands up and down this draft. They had a lot to say on who was drafted. All of the players they took in the secondary match perfectly what Bowles is looking for. Long, tall and physical corners. Dean and Bunting are going to be nice to pair up with Carlton Davis. I just hope vita vea can continue to dominate like he was towards the second half of the season and devin white can be special! hopefully JPP can have another double digit sack seasonl

  9. Defense Rules Says:

@Steve … “It just doesn’t look that good on paper”. Yet another negative take on JBF. Surprise, surprise.

@Ira … “We didn’t see a lot of swarming to the ball the last few years. We saw a lot of missed tackles. And then there’s nobody in the vicinity to make up for the missed tackles. i think it’s gonna be a big, big change around here, and Devin White is gonna lead that charge.” B-I-N-G-O Ira, right on the nose. Bucs had WAY TOO MANY solo tackles … that’s NOT good defense. Speed, physicality, teamwork, communication … all critical to our past defensive successes.

And Steve, we don’t know what we’ve got at this point because we’re a LOOONG WAY from creating a 53-man roster. Perk up and try to enjoy the ride on the BA Express.

  10. Don_RyJo(e) Says:

That’s a damned good point Joe(s)! We WERE led to believe by Arians’ comments and Licht’s inaction in free agency that the Bucs’ roster was a “unplug it and plug it back in to make it work” kind of situation. Clearly they didn’t believe that about the corners… And how many times did Arians rave about Hargreaves and company???

Very disconcerting, Joe(s). Very disconcerting indeed.

  11. Loyaltotheend Section 312 Says:

I was looking forward to the Clueless Joe whine for an hour that Devin White was picked instead of a “DE” who wouldn’t play DE in a 3-4

  12. Joe in Michigan Says:

The people crying because we didn’t draft Ed Oliver and Greedy Williams…Two guys who basically quit on their COLLEGE teams, before they got a big paycheck. Oliver was missing games with a hangnail, his coach was pissed about it and tried to make an example out of him by taking his “only guys who are playing” coat away from him. Greedy stopped tackling, ala Brent Grimes. A lot of Bucs “fans” criticize Jason Licht, but the “popular” draft would be much worse than any of his.

  13. SteveK Says:

    Joe in MI,

How about Josh Allen, round one; Dalton Risner-round 2, and Darrell Henderson-round 3? All were there for the taking.

I think Devin Wgite will be great, but do you take him over a DT/OLB w potential elite pass rush?

  14. James Horan Says:

You never disappoint. Crap is expected and crap is delivered. Joe’s not sure why anyone would listen if they expected “crap.” –Joe This whole podcast could have been recorded prior to the draft. It was the usual. They did not address what I think needed addressing. If a position of need was addressed they got the wrong guy. Then there is the old reliable ‘ I just don’t have a clue as to what their plan is.” Pathetic. They felt the had a huge hole at LB and gifted player to fill it. The felt their secondary performance last year was pathetic and injury riddled. It needed both upgrade and the addition of depth. They did pick up a DE in round 4 in a draft that was deep in Defensive Linemen. They drafted a K because Arians defined special teams as an area needing improvement. They got the K they wanted and he could well make a much bigger impact that any other 5th pick they took. The 6th round Receiver was Speed addition right up Arians alley. Returning to the DL in the 7th round was a solid pick in D-line deep draft. The positions addressed were all positions of need. The particular players of picked and the result of their scouting which is much more intense than that of any blog site. The positions not addressed were not considered priorities. They have stated the love Barber and that they are impressed with what they have seen of Jones. As for the O line they resigned Dotson and believe they have the answer at guard. They executed THEIR PLAN not yours. Get your thumbs out of your mouths and move on.

  15. SteveK Says:

    James Horan,

Great post. I hope their plan yield more wins than losses. I can’t handle the thought of a third consecutive 5-11 season.

    No playoffs since 200&.

No playoff win since the Super Bowl 37. They’re paying for super bowl 54 this year.

Fans and Joe have the right to question the picks, especially when the GM has used several prior, premium picks to unsuccessfully plug a hole.

Let’s hopemfornthe best this year, I’ll be rooting my ass off for this team. I am skeptical of the trench depth/talent, and with Jameis. I hope for consistent play and a chance for playoffs all the way to the end.

Now or never for Licht and Jameis. Can’t blame the HC anymore.

  16. SteveK Says:

No playoffs since 2008*. Sorry only 11 years and counting.

Good thing we got the Simeon Rice- “no guy will get 10+ sacks” curse broken last year.

    Go Bucs!

  17. SteveK Says:

Great podcast, can’t wait for all 3 of the amigos to go to town next podcast. Any chance you guys can talk about the “bare minimum”’needed for results/QB play in order to consider an extension? I’m curious to kenos everyone’s benchmark?
