What An Edge Rush Does

December 10th, 2017

Abused.

One team today had an edge rush. The other team dreams about an edge rush the way many red-bloodied American men dream about Rachel Watson.

The Bucs had no pass rush. What’s new? Bucs coach Dirk Koetter noted the biggest obstacle today to slowing down Matthew Stafford and the Lions was the trademark Bucs impotent pass rush.

Of course, Bucs fans who fantasize over a pass rush look at potential free agents and one is Detroit’s Ezekiel Ansah. If the Lions let him go, someone in the Motor City should be drug tested. Only the Bucs are dumb enough to let a talented edge rusher walk away like Michael Bennett — for no good reason.

Ansah, on the last two Bucs possessions, clowned turnstile Caleb Benenoch at right tackle. It was almost obscene to watch, it was such a mismatch.

Joe noticed Bucs fans whining about Koetter’s playcalling the last two drives. There aren’t many plays that work when a guy like Ansah is in the grill of America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, before he can ever set up in the pocket.

One team had an edge rush that closed the game out. The other only wishes it had one and it allowed a quarterback to play pitch-and-catch all day to an 82 percent completion rate. And win.

Sure is comforting to know the Bucs didn’t need the services of Calais Campbell.

decon jones and too tall jones could not be successful on this team with the fragile soft defensive tackles playing for the bucs over the last decade.

Jason Licht is best GM in football he is playing checkers while the rest of the NFL is playing chess, give it time joe, licht got the kicking game settled next is long snapper, edge rusher is year 8

Well, i was pressing for Calais in the off season and now im doing it again for Ziggy. I liked him in the draft too. If we can afford him after signing Kirk Cousins, i say go for it.

I grew up a Lions fan and still follow them. That guy has had 1 rally good year, 1! He’s always hurt and that BS sack at the end of the ball game, JW held the ball seemed like 6-7 seconds. He’s an average to above average pass rusher, below average run stopper, get him on a 1 year deal? Sure. Do not throw a bunch of cash at that guy.

    Lol.
    Excuses for Winston?
He had a clean pocket on his interceptions.
You can tell when Jameis is pressured. The ball goes flying up in the air, and a free for all ensues.

Yes Ziggy Ansah may be a free agent.
    Doubt it.
But if he is, does anyone believe hes gonna be sitting at his agents office, fingers crossed- hoping the Bucs call?
    Lol.
Free agents get to CHOOSE which team they want to play for.
If you believe any decent player wants to come to this train wreck- then you’ve been playing Madden to much.

This team is a mess. Its both disinterested and unorganized.
No help is on the way thru free agency.

By the way, we can cut Caleb Benenoch a lil slack.
It was his second start ever. With all the injuries- there wasnt The normal opurtuities for him to go out, and get a breather.
Im sure he was exhausted by games end.
And only gave up the one sack to Ziggy. One of the leagues best DEs

I just don’t care about the Buccaneers anymore.

Jason Licht are you there? Haven’t heard a peep with all this happening! Any guidance GM?

  11. NFLNut Says:

This loss was great … Bradley Chubb may fall right in our laps … we need to lose these last 3 games though imho for that to assuredly happen and I’m not sure Koetter wants that to happen as he may be fired if it does …

Too Tall Jones ….now who’s living in the past! D-End is the only position this team has failed to address since MBennett! It ain’t McCoy’s fault! jackAsses!
