Koetter Addresses “Grumors”

December 10th, 2017

“Ed, this Dirk Koetter is a class act, you know?”

With every Tampa Bay loss that mounts, so too do rumors grow that Chucky will be coaching the Bucs next season.

With every loss, the more fans howl for the return of Chucky to the Bucs next season.

And with the season spiraling out of control and the Bucs are seemingly hellbent on a top-five pick in the draft, here comes of all people Chucky to be inducted into the Ring of Honor a week from tomorrow night.

When asked about what sure smells like an awkward convergence of worlds, Koetter said he would welcome Chucky with open arms next week.

“I will be the first to congratulate him,” Koetter said of Chucky’s pending induction. “He deserves it.”

Why does Joe get the sense next week is going to be a flipping circus?

Grudens stock is rising faster than BitCoin….
I am in the camp of one more year for staff and QB…however I would have no seconds thoughts drafting a QB with our first pick….when the crying is over we’ll have the proper QB going forward

  6. not there yet Says:

The entire season was a circus

  7. ElioT Says:

Well the Bucs are going to get smashed by the Falcons…

They’re going to sh*t all over the field like they do to honor every inductee.

    And nobody should be surprised.

There should be an interim HC here to congratulate Gruden, not Dirk.

    #wellbye

Agreed Jimmyjack. And I luvs a circus!! I an an Ex for a company that does national and international moves. I’ll be glad to pack Koetters and pressbox Smitty’s bags…personally!! At this point? Hell, Gruden can do no worse than the Koetter/Smitty express. Bring him on. Hell, BRING ANYBODY ON!!!!!!!!!!!! Ok gotta go..time to hear..Rev Jameis with his AMAZING speech from the pulpit.

  11. JonBuc Says:

    Circus…chock full of clowns.

  12. JimmyJack Says:

Nate……If they did hire Gruden I bet he requires no offensive lineman. Maybe one Journeyman FA………He would get our guys playing much tougher football and would know how to package them.

  13. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Can I just say?

If Koetter gets fired and the Glazers hire someone else besides Gruden (because he doesn’t actually want to coach here), then the same people claiming right now that it will be Gruden will act like they knew it all along.

It won’t be Gruden. That much I promise.

And if they fire Koetter after only two seasons, I’m going to struggle with following this team next year.

  14. D-Rome Says:

This Eagles vs. Rams game is amazing! Why do the Bucs always end up with the crap coaches and GMs while other teams turn it around in a year or two?

  15. Xandtar Says:

Gruden’s headed for the Hall of Fame the Madden way, with one ring and decades at MNF.

Why would he give up the Hall to work for the same loser owners who canned him in the first place?

I’m not particularly fond of his booth work, but lots of people love it. He should stay there.

As for Koetter, at this point I really don’t give a flying flip about him, he stinks but the two year coaching carousel stinks even more, we’re Cleveland South this past decade. So long as we have the Glazer Boys running the team we’re screwed, they love their M.U.

    Eddie Debartolo, where are you?

  16. brooks55hof Says:

    Hire the Chin.

  17. Roy T. Buford Says:

Next week’s game may very well end up like the Thursday night shellacking by the Panthers where (I heard, since I left in the third quarter then) fans were chanting to fire Schiano.

The Bucs need to, and likely will, look forward vice look back. Gruden turned in three really terrible seasons to three good ones, and of course the first one being a GREAT one. He’s not the answer; he is not looking forward. Just like bringing Lovie in as a blast from the past to rekindle old Bucs fan fires was a bad call. You can’t go back.

Looking forward is bringing in a guy who is currently a very successful OC with HC experience. Patriots on Line 1. And by the way, I don’t think anyone will want to take over handling Jameis Winston with his current unclaimed baggage in the Uber from Phoenix going into next year. So…bye bye JW#3.

  18. Getaclue Says:

We can wait a year to see what happened with Jameis if Gruden comes. If anything happens Fitz is the perfect stop gap Gruden QB.

  19. Mikadeemas Says:

D rome. Huh, so the rams and eagles turned it around in a year or two!? Please, pick a year, There’s always a team the comes out of nowhere. It seems to never be the Bucs, but c’mon, did you REALLY see them(rams, eagles) being good this year? Go Bucs!!

  20. Buccaneer Bill Says:

Have the courage to let Koetter succeed. This championship Buccaneer house never gets built, because every couple of years we fire the architect, rip everything out, and start from scratch. Then as soon as we find some bad materials, ownership and fans panic, and hire another architect.

  21. Pierce Says:

TV will want to make it a circus just to attract more viewers for a game that most people don’t care about.

  22. SteelStudBuc Says:

    It’s time for a disciplinarian coach again…

  23. Ghingus Kwon Says:

    THAT is addressing “grumors”?

  24. Crazed Fan Says:

    Screw Gruden!!! Go Bucs
