Mike Evans Says He Is 100 Percent

September 17th, 2015

MikeEvans2Mike Evans told Joe and other media today that he likely wouldn’t have made the necessary 28-point difference in Sunday’s loss to the Titans.

However, Evans said he would have liked to try and is hopeful to play Sunday.

“I feel 100 percent. I’m ready to go. So, I mean I’ve been practicing,” Evans said.

Great news for Bucs fans, and bad news for the depleted Saints secondary.

Kickoff if 72 hours.

Obviously good news. Last year we played N.O. with ME on the sidelines and still had them beat until Lovie’s D coughed it up in OT.

Having ME can only help. Now can JW play as well as MG8 did last year?

Can LVD return to his form of last year..against N.O. in the Dome 14 tackles 10 of them solo. LVD has to show up Sunday. BTW he was playing for the same coach last year as this year.

  2. DallasBuc Says:

…and this is consequential to Sunday’s results how?

It still sounds to me like Evans wanted to play lady week and was shut down by Lovie. If you don’t think sitting your best offensive player who wants to play doesn’t deflate the entire team I can’t talk to you. Its like the coaches threw in the towel before the game started.

Also with the production we got from our receivers last week I say we are better off lining up a scarecrow in a 13 jersey than Murphy. At least we could cover the tackle with a scarecrow.

CAN HE PLAY EITHER SAFETY SPOT? NO…”simple as that”…

  5. mike10 Says:

Man, 28 points, I didn’t do the math..

… that difference is 2 games for our offense.

Depleted secondary? Sounds like the KOD for us.

  7. OneLove Says:

This is GREAT NEWS!! It’s obvious that we have a QB that NEEDS WR’s to make him look GOOD and NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND!!

“It’s as simple as that” – Lovie Smith aka “Another one bites the dust!”

    Just wait on it.

All the hype about our backup receivers during OTA’s. Hall n Dye…we’e better off with Hall n Oats. Murphy is a one hit inconsistent make me “wonder” bout Joe Dirt type receiver. No WR other than VJ n ME…no, literally me, knows how to get open. IMO the jury is still out on ASJ…he hasn’t proven enough thus far. We new since last year that ours OL is one of the weakest link on the team. Why didn’t Lovie n litch aggressively go after available FA OL during the off season. Lovie is about as passive n timid as a 2 year old attending public daycare for the first time. Plz bring back the fire to Buc land.

This is not the same defense as last year. A lot of fans are making that mistake. We replaced a LOT of defensive players this year.

Evans said he is hopeful to play Sunday and is 100%. Which one is it, 100% or hopeful? I don’t think he is ready.

  12. StPeteBucsFan Says:

    @BucBonzai

If you point is that this year’s defense is improved and we’ll hang on if we get that far ahead I hope you’re right.

But then again after Sunday maybe you’re suggesting that this D is not as good.

Last year in the Dome we got outrushed 140-68 so it wasn’t a ground and pound victory. The D showed up big time. LVD 14 tackles..10 solo..Lansannah 10 tackles and a pick…ints from both Banks and Verner…all of these guys are still here…they’re still coached by the same guys…it’s the only optimism I could generate. We did it last year…means we COULD do it this year.

    They are all 100%……100% losers!

  14. Pelbuc Says:

Great news, now Bucs lose 56-6 instead of 56-3.

When I see him actually on the field I will believe it…. Lovie is a bad coach but the ****er ****er is a damn good BS artist. If he was not a football coach he could have a field in politics…. Right now he reminds me of Chuck LaMar: the maligned GM of the D’Rays who had to explain to everyone why Vince Naomoli’s team never won more than 70 games and why we should keep buying into “waiting for the prospects”… Stu Sternberg changed that rather quick y’all; take a hint! Lovie and Licht remind me a lot of Naomoli and his lackeys; only an ownership change can remove this cancer from the team as it is becoming obvious that the Glazer’ babies do not care what the Tampa franchise does or the one called Man U either as long as they make coin…..

  16. FortMyersDave Says:

PelBuc: I say you are very much a pessimist: I say Saints only 49 and the Bucs 24 (my guess is that Glennon gets 2 TDs in mop up duty to pad the stats so Lovie can crow about “progress”…..).
