Gameday Tampa Bay

October 5th, 2014

???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
Game 5

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-3) at Saints (1-3)

Kickoff: 1 p.m.

TV: WTVT-TV Channel 13, NFL Network, DirecTV Ch. 706

Radio: Buccaneers Radio Network (WDAE-AM 620 and WFUS-FM 103.5 in Tampa-St.Petersburg region); SiriusXM Channel 136.

Weather: Per AccuWeather.com, while the game will be played in a soulless dome, the weather for tailgating can’t get too much better for October football outside of Florida. There shouldn’t be a cloud in the sky while carousing the haunts of Bourbon Street for early morning cocktails (what better place to tailgate?). Look for mid-70s weather after the game.

Odds: Per FootballLocks.com, Saints -10

Outlook: It’s a potentially pivotal day for the Bucs, coming off an impressive first victory of the season on the road. A win in the Big Easy would be a major momentum booster and, if things break right, could put them in a tie for first place in the NFC South. Easier said then done. The Saints under Sean Payton are virtually indestructable at home. The last time the Saints lost with Payton roaming the sidelines was the final game of the 2010 season. And that was to the Bucs and leaky, sleepy Josh Freeman. This isn’t the same Bucs and these aren’t the same Saints. The Bucs, until they can prove otherwise, are a subpar team. The Saints are injury-riddled and Drew Brees has not played up to his usual Hall-of-Fame-type self. For the Bucs to win they must run the ball to keep the ball out of Brees’ hands. The Bucs are simply not going to win a shootout with the Saints. Paging Doug Martin: It’s been a long time since 2012 was around. Now would be a good time to replicate your stellar rookie year.

I like the Bucs plus the 10 points. The Aints 1-3 record speaks louder than their supposed fear factor.

Part of me don’t wanna watch because I’m afraid to see them lose and disappoint me.

I love having hope and I love my Bucs but man this roster really offers little to hope for.

Run the ball and Rush the passer.

Today could be a day this team turns things around or a day of misery. I’m nervous and it’s only 11:15.
