“I Love Josh McCown”

March 13th, 2014

“Look, King. I appreciate going to the ‘love’ card as much as the next guy in our business, but don’t tell me this McCown character could hold Brian Greezy’s jock.”

Bucs fans actually get to see Shaun King break down Bucs free agency in the NBC Sports Network video below.

Joe notes that because so many King haters inexplicably seem to not believe he really has job and national respect. Also, Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com lays out the bad news for the Mike Glennon Mob.

One of three quarterbacks to lead the Bucs to the NFC title game, King stunned Joe when he said, “I love Josh McCown.” Enjoy the video.

Kiss of death if there ever was one.

  2. Harry Says:

Oh oh, King loves the signing by the Bucs. Thats a bad sign…

  3. NewTampaChris Says:

Dang, Shaun King looks more like Jason Whitlock than Jason Whitlock does.

  4. Buc Fan #237 Says:

King et al just hate Schiano so much, that any change is a welcome change.

Even if the guy is 34 years old.

Imagine the outrage by him, little dog, and joe if Schiano and Dom signed McCown and claimed him to be the starter?

You mean we get to hear him say he likes the signings? Literally all he said. Not much breaking down anywhere.

  6. Tampabaybucfan Says:

“Shaun King, one of two Buc Quarterbacks that lost a NFC Championship Game when his defense gave up 11 or fewer points.”

  7. Shawnbucfan Says:

Shawn king aka “burger king” one of three quaterbacks to eat himself out of the leauge Jamarcus russsel, our very own Burger King , and finally Jared Lorzen. Congrats guys ..,,

  8. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

Wow. How does King maintain the same shape he had in his second year in the NFL??? Man never ages!

  9. Buck A. Neers Says:

    Wow Jason Whitlock looks svelte!

  10. lightningbuc Says:

If only his small hands had grown as rapidly as his gut!

  11. Couch Fan Says:

Looks like Shaun King is the first member of the Luke McCown Mob

  12. Bucfan#37 Says:

All I want is an improved team and the chances to cheer for some wins.

  13. Bill Wheeler Says:

King did not LEAD the Bucs to anything and I almost puke at the love WDAE gives him

  14. Tomcin Says:

All I can say is S. King is an idiot. Not to mention he’s also a slob. I do not read anything he says, since he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Just takes up space.

  15. Couch Fan Says:

    Josh McCown Mob*

  16. Jwied73 Says:

Who would trust anything that a quarterback-turned-offensive lineman would say? Talk about a waffle.

  17. Josh P Says:

Hey NBC sports, update your bucs logo. it’s only been about three weeks now since we change it.

  18. Couch Fan Says:

The more I hear about Josh the more I am starting to warm up to him. Seems like a real good guy and Lovie has been after him for a while before he even went to Chicago.

  19. bucrightoff Says:

Bucs fans don’t agree on much, except that Shaun King is fat and annoying.

  20. CreamsicleBananaHammock Says:

McCown really reminds me of Rich Gannon. Athletic career backup who’s getting a shot at starting later in his career. Let’s hope Tedford can work the same magic w McCown that Gruden did with Gannon

  21. Architek Says:

I think Josh is terrific for where we are and what we are set to accomplish this year.

He will not be a turnover machine, he’s more athletic then some think, and his arm isn’t flat (more accurate too). The bottom line is he is experienced and brings a calming presence that this team needs as it learns how to win again.

My major concern is now Penn and Zuttah. I don’t think Penn is a winner and has been steady physically but inconsistent as a performer. I would sign Collins and trade him to Oakland.

That would place us in prime position to draft literally whomever we wanted from a WR, OL, QB, DL, or trade down for even more value.

    Cheers to winning again!

  22. rdbucfan Says:

More like the Josh McCown Clown Posse.

  23. rdbucfan Says:

So we sign the 6th best QB from the NFC north and he is now the 4th best in the NFC south allegedly. The backups for our division rivals may be better than our new starter.

I don’t like Michael Vick as a person but he would have been a better choice if Lovie was gifting the starting job.

  24. Buc a Deer Says:

Defense will be awesome!! All Josh has to do is get around 20 points. That’s 1 TD and 4 fgs, if he can’t do that we are in trouble.

  25. Hank Says:

Love? Look I am glad to have McCown to compete with Glennon and or whoever else. I think he is solid.. basically Glennon with experience, imo. But Love? nah.

  26. Pewter Bullion Says:

King is legitimate AND he’s a Bucs fan. Hard to understand all the hate towards him. Keep doing what you do “Burger King Boy”. I don’t like the fact that we’ve lost Revis with nothing to show for it, but somehow I’m still excited.

It seems the new regime thinks along the same lines as King. He always had respect for Revis, but never agreed with Revis’ signing.

King is a true football analyst in my eyes. He’s fat as hell now, but his brain is still intact. Keep REPRESENTING King…

  27. knucknbuc Says:

Funny I remembered king being right about doms signage at gm,schiano being an inept coach and our drastic falloff from 2012 to 2013…..hmm haters much?

  28. michael Says:

Who ate Shuan King and is posing as Shaun King!!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. Kramden Says:

I hear that Shaun is working out now and trying to get back in shape. I wish him well for himself and his family.
