You “Heard It Here” Second

October 14th, 2009

Many in the Tampa Bay area predicted that the first Bucs blacked out game in the history of the CITS would be this Sunday when the Bucs host the nearly-as-bad Carolina Panthers.

Hold on, says eye-RAH! Kaufman of the Tampa Tribune. He tweeted that the Bucs will sell out the Carolina game.

You heard it here first — the Bucs game against the Panthers Sunday at Raymond James Stadium will not be blacked out.

Joe will believe it when he sees it, though Joe is hopeful.

Speaking of believing, eye-RAH! seems to believe the Bucs have a very good shot at winning if they can get some decent blocking.

I’ll say it again — the Bucs need at least 30 rushing attempts to win, especially against a Carolina team that can’t stop the run.

If this were to come through, Sean Mayhem cannot be in the lineup.

Take away Steve Smith (which doesn’t seem to be all that hard these days) and some good run D, and we can win. Carolina is as bad as we are right now…and they are not rebuilding.

  2. Inigo Says:

No more two-gapping! Run at the 16-million-dollar man! Look at Mike Clayton and then throw the ball the other way!

Seriously, though… if the Bucs don’t get a win this week, it might be a long time – like, until the next time the play Carolina, on Dec 6 – before they’ve got another shot. There’s a tough stretch coming up, schedule-wise.

Also: Michael Bennett is a Buccaneer! Sorry to see Dile go (always sad to lose a USF boy), but maybe this can buff up our D-line rush a little bit – Wilkerson needs a hug and a Robin.

Why bash Carolina? At least they won a game. I do believe it was against a team the Bucs couldn’t take. What makes anyone think we can defeat any team in this league with the new direction Morris and our owners have us headed in. When will we see improvement. I’ve watched 5 games this season and there is nothing that looks even remotely like it’s coming together. Finger pointing is all we have gotten so far.

I bet all those tickets the Glazers had to eat cost them a pretty penny, but at least a bunch of our military guys at MacDill will get to go to the game for free this weekend!!! No way a bunch of Carolina fans are making the trip down here to watch a 1 win team play this sorry bunch we’ve got right now! Hey, at least if one of Joe’s story’s from earlier today plays out, we’ll have a wholesale turnover of players next year.

    Greg:

That story was Ira Kaufman’s of the Tampa Tribune, not Joe’s.

  6. Greg Says:

    Sorry Joe, my mistake.

  7. Joe Says:

    No problem. 🙂
