Jeff Faine To Miss “Several Games”

September 14th, 2009

The positive spin is that the news could be worse. The cold hard fact is the Bucs already thin offensive line got thinner today.

Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune reports that center Jeff Faine will miss “several games” due to a triceps injury suffered in the horrid loss to Dallass yesterday.

“That’s a huge loss, losing a guy like Faine,” Coach Raheem Morris said. “You all know how smart he is, how well-prepared he is. He’s a pro. He teaches the room how to be a professional.”

The injury does not require surgery, but Morris was unable to pinpoint how long Faine will be out.

“I hate to say it’s a toughness deal; it’s not all toughness,” Morris said. “It all really depends on when he can go, when he can get that thing the right way.”

The play of the Bucs offensive line yesterday was one of the bright spots. Now with Faine out and Jeremy Zuttah dinged up, this could get frightening for Bucs fans.
