No Divorce For Dominik-Schiano-GlennonDecember 23rd, 2013
Team Glazer can’t divide its team leadership, says Buccaneer Radio Network pre- and post-game host Anthony Becht. It’s either all-in or adios for Greg Schiano and rockstar general manager Mark Dominik.
Becht offered tough talk this morning on WDAE-AM 620, explaining there’s “nothing for us to hang our hat on as a fan base with what went on this year.”
He explained that the 2013 Bucs had (and have) enough talent to accomplish more on the field but noted he’s been on teams where players have mailed in games and prepared for vacations and that’s not evident with the Bucs.
Schiano, Dominik and Mike Glennon are “twined and tied together,” per Becht, and Team Glazer shouldn’t use any sort of line-item veto.
“You can’t keep a head coach and fire a GM and bring a new GM in and keep the same head coach. To me that doesn’t work,” Becht said. “To me they’re all tied together. If it works, they’re all here, if it doesn’t, they’re all gone. So that’s a decision that has to be made moving forward.”
Joe can’t buy in to the unified-GM-Coach-QB theory. The team-building process can evolve fluidly with players, coaches and executives developing, proving their worth and being evaluated independently.
