Maybe this says something. Maybe it doesn’t.
Injured All-World left tackle Tristan Wirfs and injured stud Bucs receiver Chris Godwin did not travel with the team to Pittsburgh on Tuesday and were not at practices on Wednesday and Thursday. Joe has no expectation they’ll be on the sidelines Saturday night against the Steelers in Week 2 of the preseason.
Joe suspects the players would say travel away from their full-time rehab is a bad idea, though the Bucs do have players in Pittsburgh nursing injuries and working with trainers here in the Steel City.
The Bucs’ new quarterback will take the field Saturday night in Pittsburgh, possibly right after Baker Mayfield is finished with his limited work under the lights. [read more]
