Finally, Sacks!

October 25th, 2026

Sacks came in bunches.

See what happens Todd when you unleash your pass rushers?

Finally, sacks mean something.

Last week the Bucs had five sacks — and lost. Not today!

The Bucs went crazy today on the pass rush with five sacks. Five!

And won!

When YaYa Diaby came off the field after his first of two sacks today, Joe even saw KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles low-five Diaby on the sideline. What in the wild, wild world of sports is going on here?

Bowles is notorious for devaluing sacks, for dismissing sacks, for discouraging sacks. Joe always found this weird, confusing and bewildering if not frustrating.

Aside from the obvious, sacks create turnovers, as Al-Quadin Muhammad and Calijah Kancey proved today when AQM got a forced fumble on a sack and Kancey raced in with a scoop-and-score punctuated by a backflop.

Either Bowles is learning or figured he had his back to the wall as a loss today would have sunk the Bucs for good. So Bowles released the hounds. (It helps to have a huge lead.) 🙂

And look what happened, Todd!

Sacks not only lead to turnovers, but sacks also lead to victory!

At least they did today.

The owners just got the narrative change they desperately needed.
A magic wand was waved and Presto! You should have seen it coming. Thanks Uncle Roger.

Lol bucs also had 5 sacks last week vs the steelers. No one said a damn thing then. I forgot everyone just picks and chooses when they want to bring up certain things

oh no! Todd discovered pass rushing our pass rushers!!! Wow! Oh joy, clap clap clap….

Explain it to me like im 5yrs old on why it took so long, please!

They got there with 4 a good bit today. Love it. Another solid defensive outing for Bowles and his D. LFG boys. Bout time the offense scored more than 20 and look! We win! What a concept. Carolina had the top scoring offense in the NFL and got shut downnnnnn. Bring on ATL.

Technically, it was a front flop (and it was beautiful)!

  8. #1bucsfan Says:

Having a lead like that allows the defense to pin their ears back and go hunting. One game at a time. Let’s go Bucs

  9. Daniel Dream Says:

This is what we need. The defense is looking good again, pressure, turnovers, and SACKS & INTS. We’d have won last week, to be frank, had we not been faced with playing the rookie backup QB (who acquitted himself fine imho but the steelers feast on that kind of thing). Let’s hope this is the start of a big run that we need, one W at a time… go Bucs!!!

  10. Ander Says:

This is the best defense in awhile

  11. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Defense was dominant from start to finish!

  12. HeavyE Says:

Oh no, now we will overpay YaYa, like we did #6, based on one game!

you had to release the hounds on little bryce fong…

    and it worked

It was good seeing Yaya with his hand in the dirt. Between his ability to get off the snap and his strength, doing it as a standing puts him at a lesser advantage. Not a comparison in terms of value, but Yaya doesn’t win with mostly technique like Walker, but he can also put OTs in reverse with a bull rush with his quickness and strength.

Both have value and both can serve a purpose. When it all shows up on time and in sync you get games like today from our front.

“hanging by a thread” could be the new motto…

    like “it’s a buc’s life”

    or

    “wreak havoc”

we’ve been hanging by a thread, basically all season…

MadMax: If you were five years old, I’d probably try to distract you with an ice cream cone. It’s a mystery to me, too.

  18. McBay Says:

Look the win was nice but, it wasn’t Todd’s favorite game. Look for next week to return to keeping it close and a one score game. Bowles doesn’t line that the team will be full of themselves after a blowout win.

Watching today’s game, was like Christmas Morning for an 8 year old!
It was as good as it gets.

This team can’t pass block. Or rush the passer without blitzing.

SO RUSH THE BALL, AND BLITZ!!!

We are Great at that! Bowles is fantastic at designing creative blitz packages!
His Blitz package against Kansas City in the Super Bowl was the greatest defensive scheme I’ve ever seen, for one Game.

Mahommes was so shellshocked, he didn’t know if he should s**t or wind his wristwatch.

This team, with major issues, can still win the NFC South, If they would Just play to their strengths.

  20. LANshark Says:

SO, last week we had 5 sacks, and lost. This week we had 5 sacks, and won. The logical conclusion is that sacks have no influence on the outcome of the game…

Did anyone notice Big #50 dropping into pass coverage? He covered #18 on a shallow drag and did a great job, actually.
