Historic Offensive Explosion

October 25th, 2026

Dominant.

If this connection means anything, Baker Mayfield’s son will someday marry an NFL heiress.

Per Jenna Laine of ESPN, the Bucs’ offense in the first half exploded like few offenses have this century. Very few. As in just one.

In 2002, the Trent Green-led Chiefs scored 30 points in the first half with no more than five completions. That’s just what Mayfield and the Bucs did.

So what’s the connection here? Trent Green’s soon-to-be daughter-in-law happens to be none other than Gracie Hunt, the Chiefs heiress.

The Bucs had a memorable day on offense. Per Bucs media relations, the 33 first-half points are the third-most in franchise history. The top two both came with Bucco Bruce Arians’ no-risk-it, no-biscuit offense. The most (35) came at Detroit in 2020.

No. 2 (34 points) came in a home game against the Bears in 2021.

Baker didn’t need to do anything today, and that’s the way we like it! Great game offense, defense and special teams.
