Falcons 34, Buccaneers 32

Sunday, December 30th, 2018

The Bucs nailed down one hell of a draft pick today!

Should we celebrate, or should we cry?

That’s an easy answer. Celebrate! The Bucs locked up what could be the No. 5 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft — and they didn’t have to disappoint a percentage of fans by tanking at the Den of Depression. (more…)

Buccaneers-Falcons, Open Thread

Comment all game below with fellow Buccaneers fans and a handful of haters.

Keep it decent and no personal attacks unless they’re directed at loafing Bucs and bad coaching.

Most important, enjoy yourselves and prepare for Joe’s award-winning postgame coverage with Ira Kaufman.

America Keeps Her Honor

Sunday, December 30th, 2018

Staying.

Best news of the day came earlier this morning when Adam Schefter of BSPN reported common sense and reason has won the day at One Buc Palace.

America’s Quarterback, Pro Bowler Jameis Winston, will return as your Buccaneers quarterback, baby!

The only way Joe can see this day getting any better is if the Bucs keep their top-10 pick (and maybe a top-five pick) in next spring’s draft and lose to the Dixie Chicks.

What a fine day this second-to-last day of 2018 is!

But there’s another cool receiving mark in play. (more…)

What Would Have Happened… ?

Sunday, December 30th, 2018

“Don’t worry Smitty, I will be strong if the Glazers call me into a meeting this week.”

Last week, Jenna Laine of ESPN looked at possible turning points that kept the Bucs from having a winning season and instead prompted a coaching search as they potentially finish the year back in their home crib of Buccaneers Cove (last place in the NFC South). (more…)

Bucs Not Busy With Coaching Search?

Sunday, December 30th, 2018

“Look Jason, we’re all busy during the holiday season. When we get around to making some moves, we’ll keep you in the loop.”

Is there really a chance embattled Dirk Koetter could survive as Bucs head coach, even with a loss today, which would give him 22 through the past two seasons? (more…)

Barring Injury, Backups Unlikely To Play

Saturday, December 29th, 2018

No big plans for backups.

For those who want to see Noah Spence (who?) or Ronald Jones get extensive playing time tomorrow in the season finale because there is nothing to play for and key backups should get critical game experience, it is very likely Dirk Koetter will disappoint them. (more…)

Eat A “W;” Lose The Draft Charade

Saturday, December 29th, 2018

“Mr. Glazer, don’t listen to Joe. We can lose this game without tanking.”

Go ahead, Bucs.

Go ahead and do everything in your power to win Sunday against Atlanta.

But Team Glazer, if that “W” comes, don’t ever again have the audacity to tell fans and/or media how important it is to build the through the draft, how it’s the cornerstone building block of the franchise. (more…)
