“It Bothers Me So Much”

December 10th, 2010

Joe so very much appreciates an unsanitized NFL player interview. They are far too rare in this world of politically correct BS that has permated every aspect of society.

This is one reason why Joe is a big Donald Penn fan. The man delivers his truth brilliantly and naturally, arguably the best interview on the Bucs.

Penn kept it real this week in an interview for the real man channel – NFL Network. The Bucs have it up on their website for all to watch.

Penn was asked if it bugs him that he doesn’t have a Pro Bowl on his resume. Here’s Penn’s response:

“It bothers me. It bothers me so much. You guys have no idea. I mean, I’ve been working hard. I’m kind of a cocky guy. I have a lot of faith in myself and stuff I do. I think I should be in there. I know I’m a Pro Bowl caliber guy. You know, I wasn’t a first round pick. I don’t play for the Dallas Cowboys or Washington Redskins, New York Giants, you know where they get all the pub. Philadelphia Eagles, where they’re on TV every week. …It’s hard for the world to see what I can do. …If you watch film, my film doesn’t lie.”

Lots of other good stuff in the interview.

Joe hopes to see Penn get his Pro Bowl honor in a couple of weeks. Outside of a legend nod to Ronde Barber, Joe doubts any other Buccaneer has a shot.

I hope Don Penn gets a pro bowl nod too.

That guy is a pretty darn good interview. If the Bucs keep winning, I could see him becoming a mouthpiece the way Sapp used to be for the Bucs (just without all of Sapp’s a–hole qualities).

  3. Hawaiian Buc Says:

This guy has probably been our best player for the last 2 years. There is no doubt he deserves to get in. And to think there were some fans that didn’t want to sign him in the offseason!

  4. RastaMon Says:

yeah…a lot of things bother me too…..

as a pretty big critic of penn’s in the past i must say that i’ve been getting a little more impressed with his all around effort as of late, especially in run blocking.

I agree with him, he’s a Prowl Bowl caliber player and should be be given the honor.

  7. Tuggz Says:

it’s not coincidental that Penn names all four NFC East teams. lord knows they’ve been shoved down our throats all season ever Sunday and Monday night

Penn deserves ProBowl recognition. He is absolutely dominant, at one of the toughest positions in Pro Football. He is one of the best LTs I’ve ever seen. Glad we are gonna have him around for a long time. He is the greatest LT this team has ever had. Only Paul Gruber comes close, and Penn is stil the Best. Despite all the gay man love The BSPN crew heaps on the mediocre NFC East, Penn’s talent should get him in the ProBowl. Real challenge will be from whoever the Falcons are playing at Left tackle. Reguardless of talent, it’s obvious that the NFL has designated them the new” Darlings of the the NFC”!, which is pretty pathetic. Or they may throw a Cowboy in there, just because they have a cool stadium! Sad! On talent, Penn is the only choice. Good luck Donald! You deserve the accolades!!

Tuggz; you should live on the east coast. The West Palm Beach Fox affiliate can carry anything they want since they are not in any NFC team’s territory. They carry the Giants like they were the home team and when they aren’t on they carry the NFC east. You never see the Bucs if you live south of Melbourne unless you get a dish.
