Jacob Parrish Could Make History Tonight
November 8th, 2026
High-profile game.
Joe sure did like Bucs corner Jacob Parrish as a rookie last season and thought he could be a solid outside, full-time corner this season.
KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles loves his rookie nickel corners, where Parrish played last season. But Joe didn’t think Parrish would blow up like this.
Parrish had at least two passes defensed in his last five gamds. It’s the longest active streak in the NFL. Only nine corners this century have pulled that off.
Parrish, through eight games, has been a lockdown corner. He’s also as even-keeled and laid-back an NFL player as Joe has seen. Very nice and cooperative, but Joe cannot picture the guy blinking an eye if he won the lottery. Steady Eddie. A very quiet guy.
(The photo of Parrish that accompanies this story is a perfect snapshot of Parrish’s personality. He’s like that often.)
So Joe found it interesting to hear Parrish admit he’s stoked for tonight’s game in Chicago.
“I’m very excited,” Parrish said of playing against on national television in primetime. “[It is] just an opportunity to put our platform out there, go out there and make plays.
“Everybody is going to be watching the game, so it’s going to be a very good game playing against one of the best teams in the NFL. It’s just another opportunity for us, so we’ve got to go out there and play like it’s a regular game.”
If somehow the Bucs pull off the upset, they will automatically be considered a top contender — for the NFC South landfill title.
But if Parrish can get a pick or two, or simply shut down the receivers he’s covering, it would raise his profile around the league and with fans.
Because, with Parrish’s personality, there is no such thing as self-promotion or hype.
Do you know which corner leads the league in passes defenses? 5’10, 31” arm Jacob Parrish, that’s who.

Parrish leading the league in passes defended is a remarkable breakout — a second-year corner going from nickel to lockdown, and now a real chance at history in primetime tonight. I follow the latest NFL news and results on TrendWire, where the sport’s big stories are pulled together in one place.

Wait, I thought we were supposed to be missing Glassman Dean. Huh….

And to think Benjamin Morrison, who looked really good stepping in for injured Parrish, is waiting in the wings. Hats off to Bowles and Licht.

He keeps progressing and he will join Ronde as the 2nd Buc cornerback in the HOF. I called it for Mike Evans in season 3 way before the masses.
Go Jacob! Go Bucs!

We’re so busy looking at Jacob’s coverage skills- don’t overlook what this second year player does in the run support game, and the blitz game. I haven’t looked at those stats, but I remember when he was first drafted you guys did a story on him and he grew up in a wrestling family.
He’s an effective and efficient tackler. And an excellent coverage guy. And he’s got the perfect attitude for the game- next play mentality.
I’m going out on a limb here and predicting this guy will be the Bucs next all pro. That’s the kind of football player I think we have.

Kenton: Kid has 32 solo tackles, (9th in the NFL) only 3 missed
Zyon has 29, 7 missed

I mention Parrish name several times last year as the best corner on the Bucs roster, even with Jamel Dean on the roster. I couldn’t understand the debate about him switching to corner. It was a no brainer. He played the position in college n is a natural for attacking the ball n wrapping up receivers on tackles. He consistently outplayed Dean n McCollum last year n is known not only for what he does on the field, but his consistency n availability for always being on the field. Let me repeat it again, he’s a young Brent Grimes on steroids. Dynamite comes in small packages.

Love Parrish. But would love for Reuben Bain to start building his own reputation as a stud tonight. We will need it.

Parrish is my favorite Bucc on this roster.

Williams like to pass over the middle, so it’s time for Keionte Scott to step up and own the middle of the field like Ronde’.

Having a spy on Williams will be paramount for success , because the moment he breaks contain there has to be a spy to get on him immediately before he can scan the field with time.
