Locker Room Reactions From YaYa Diaby, Emeka Egbuka And Bucky Irving
October 12th, 2026
The national showcase that was the Bucs-Cowboys game on Thursday night was a fun spectacle with a Bucs-centric postgame show on Amazon Prime.
So most fans missed what was happening in the happy postgame locker room.
Joe was not at the game, though the legendary JoeBucsFan.com photographer was on the sidelines and sent lots of pictures, including critical Dallas Cowboys cheerleader photos. But Joe was monitoring all things postgame.
Below is a smattering of locker room reaction from the Buccaneers Radio Network, as given to team sideline reporter Jay Recher.
YaYa Diaby thinks the Bucs are desinted for greatness: “Man, we got a hell of team, man. And I know we’re going to keep going. We just gotta keep building on this first win. Man, we got a hell of af team and I know we’re going to keep going. This is just the first one. … This team, we got heart, man.”
Bucky Irving on his pregame mentality and during his 72-yard run: “Gotta get a win, bro. Start with them guys up front [on the offensive line]. I told them in the beginning of the game, it started with them guys and when they set the tone, they’re one of the best offense lines in the game right now. So, whenever them guys come to play, it’s always going to be a great day on the ground.
Irving on Jalon Daniels: “We got faith in him. That’s why he’s the starting quarterback. He gonna do his thing and we gonna keep riding with him.”
Emeka Egbuka on what the message is to the team to carry over the win: “I think one win was really all we needed to kind of propel us forward. You know, we’ve had had a lot of one score games and they just haven’t gone our way. We haven’t been able to close out, but we were able to close out [Thursday]. Defense played phenomenal. Lots of turnovers, that always helps. So, yeah, we just gotta keep it rolling.”
Egbuka on QB Jalon Daniels’ performance: He’s energetic. He’s confident. He’s, you know, exactly the guy we needed after Bake went down. To be able to rally around him, I feel really good. I’m really excited for him to get his first win on prime time football. That’s huge for him. We’re just really happy for him.”
Lots of happy vibes from the locker room. Collectively, the team believes something has changed for the better. Joe will believe that when/if the Bucs knock off Pittsburgh at home on Sunday.
