Fighting Boredom Working For Bucky Irving

October 9th, 2026

Bucs running back Bucky Irving takes old school notes every day.

One thing often appears in his notebook.

“Trust your track,” Irving told BSPN TV after last night’s win.

It’s a steady theme for Bucky. He said when he does that, great things happen.

Daily notes? “You can’t get bored with the little details that matter,” Irving said.

Former Bucs offensive advisor Tom Moore stressed that to Irving regularly, Bucky said, and challenged him to fight boredom that can set in for players.

Keep taking those notes, Bucky! You’re on pace for 1,380 yards rushing this season.

Irving also said he delivered a pregame speech to the offensive line to fire them up.

On his rookie quarterback, Irving told the nation he’s been a Jalon Daniels fan for years. Bucky said he watches a lot of college football and loved Daniels’ swag at the University of Kansas.

it was good to see bucky out in space.

  2. Lakeland Says:

We started 5 rookies against the Cowboys
In a prine time game on the road, on 3 days rest
We had to overcome 14 penalties

But, we got the job done, we got the win

You only build off a win like this

Ain’t no stopping us now ….. we’re on the move

  3. Scott Says:

I think Bucky would have punched it in on the goalie the first time too. Instead they went to Tucker.

  4. DoooshLaRue Says:

I wish every player had his attitude, drive and genuine love for the game.

Life is in the details. So is greatness.

  6. Fire The Cannons & Fire Todd Says:

I like winning but let’s be real this team is not winning more than 6 games

  7. Lakeland Says:

    As Ronde said

    They don’t know football

  8. Football 1 Says:

It was certainly exciting to see Bucky and the team in general show some passion for the game. I think as fans that is what we look for. A team that wants to play. I think the disappointment only comes with a loss and no passion or effort. I have season tickets this year. I just watched 3 homes games. In those I did not see the passion or energy I saw last night. I went wow they finally came to the game. As a fan I can take a loss if I see that kind of energy.. it was a nice win and sure nice to win in Dallas in prime time. I mean the Bucs rep and accurate until last night they don’t play well in prime time. The only negative note if the o line could cut down on those holding calls. 15 penalties, how many on the o line? Most is my guess

What about Joe’s “play for the draft” ?

??One Joe says play for the draft when a season is out of reach. The other Joe thinks that’s a losing and counterproductive mentality but is in favor of the Bucs trading a few veterans for 2027 draft picks. Neither Joe advocates for not winning when the whistle blows. Hope that clears things up for you.–Joe

  10. TampaBayBucFan Says:

The “worthless “ preseason games did little to prepare Daniels

    TampaBayBucFan

That’s the mentality of a lot of Bucs fans
They want to play for a top draft pick
It’s early October and they’re already talking about the draft
Or talking about the new HC

I’m only focusing on making the playoffs

  12. Oxycondomns Says:

bucky took the team on his shoulders last night, daniels getting lot of credit for throwing to a wide open tex and a wide open emeka on 3rd and 21

  13. Joseph C Simmons Says:

The defense has played decent all year. While I don’t think we’ll develop a strong pass rush this season, I do think it will slowly improve.

Hopefully, the offensive line is starting to gel. When Baker gets back, the threat of deeper downfield passing should open up more holes for the running backs. No disrespect to Jalon Daniels, who did a great job, but he’s not scaring any secondary coach.

Maybe I’m being overly optimistic, but this may be a corner we’re turning.

  14. Aceofaerospace Says:

Lakeland, I really wish I shared your enthusiasm but I don’t, yet. If the Bucs can put together some back to back games and Bowels makes more aggressive decisions like going for the TD, I’ll start getting excited. I’m a long way from that, but I admire your loyalty and enthusiasm. That was an awesome game to watch.

  15. Lakeland Says:

    Aceofaerospace

We’ll win you over in due time

  16. BucfaninOregon Says:

A broken watch is correct twice a day. Is that the case with the Bucs? I’ll give it up for Lakeland today after the Bucs showed up with a predicted win by Lakeland. However, I see we are off to the playoffs now in his mind. I hope he’s right!

  17. Hopes on 2027 Says:

    he is so much fun

oh that we could play Dallas every day

  18. Citrus County Says:

As I read this and see that the Bucs won last night I ponder how, why? All I can figure is that after the TB12 SB win and subsequent fiasco coupled with the perennial hot seat rumors for Bowles and the annual OC turnover, the poor defensive and special teams coaching, the players just don’t know how to feel or what to think about themselves, the team, the coaches, the front office, the media, their teammates, or ownership.

That is an organizational level problem and starts at the top.

  19. Marine Buc Says:

My man Buck-Irv is fighting “boredom”?

    Oh my!

Someone please quickly send this kid a Game-Boy with the Tetris cartridge already installed and ready to go – STAT!

  20. 813bucboi Says:

    lakeland

i’ll admit, 24 hours ago i was banging the CHRIS SHULA drum lol…

i still have it, but im tooting the victory horn today lol

lots of football left…hope that comes with lots of wins!!!..11 MORE TO BE EXACT

    GO BUCS!!!!

  21. Plan Bowles from Outer Space Says:

Daniels will just get better. Unlike Mayfield who is getting worse. he does not hold the ball too long. That game prove he is capable. Dallas is not very good and going downhill. Bucs can only go up to try and get in the Mix for NFC South,

  22. Bucks 'n' Bucs Says:

Only 1 team has made the playoffs after an 0-4 start.
Teams that start 1-4 only make the playoffs 8% of the time.

Finding the negative instead of celebrating the victory is why the home game stands are empty. Learn what being an actual fan means. Faith!

  23. Jmarkbuc Says:

I’m very never heard of a team that battles boredom more than this one. Then in think about Bowles personality.

  24. Mikw Says:

All you clowns are so negative I swear Tampa fans are the worst you want this team to lose instead of actually supporting them

  25. OLDSCHOOL1976 Says:

They were playing perhaps the worst defense in the NFL last night. If Bland dropped a Baker pick six that’s all you would talk about. The kid played OK. I assure they aren’t sitting a 50 million dollar man when he’s ready to go. Dallas had a let down after that big Sunday win, it’s a win, one win 4 losses. That’s perspective.
