11 Bucs On Week 4 Injury List

September 30th, 2026

Chris Godwin

It’s getting uglier, assuming that’s possible.

Our beloved winless Buccaneers, with their head coach whose Tampa popularity rivals that of Greg Schiano, have a growing injury list.

First, Rueben Bain’s bad shoulder, which disappeared from the injury report last week, has made a return. Did he re-aggravate it in the weight room? That is very troubling. He didn’t practice last week or today.

Chris Godwin is a newcomer to the report with an ankle issue. He didn’t practice.

Bucky Irving was limited with a “glute” issue, same status for linebacker SirVocea Dennis (calf), cornerback Keionte Scott (toe) and linebacker Josiah Trotter (shoulder). The full list is below. Of course, it’s highlighted by Baker Mayfield’s dislocated throwing thumb.

I think they are all giving up, it’s embarrassing to go out and play for a HC like Boweles and have disgusting results. I’d call out sick too.

  2. Will Says:

The whole team should cal, out. 😂

  3. Lakeland Says:

Sign Sterling Shepard off the Jets practice squad

Shep caught 74% of his targets last season
He knows the offense, and he’s an excellent 3rd down WR

Move Emeka Egbuka into the slot, and let him shine

  4. Guzzie55 Says:

Not like Bucs fans are going to be watching, maybe for a quarter to see if Jalon is the best udfa rookie QB of all time, reality will hit around the 2nd quarter

  5. King of Citrus Park Says:

Its Wed. Lets see the list on Saturday

  6. SkunkApe Says:

Anything that helps them win…… the 1st overall pick in the ’27 draft.

Playing backups and street free agents will get us there.

I’m not suggesting tanking. I’m just suggesting doing all the little things to help them lose every week. 🤣🤣🤣

  7. Slacker Says:

Doesn’t matter who the receivers are on the rostee. They dont get used in this offense because of o line issues and zac Robinsons putrid play calling. He’s absolutely trash and not sure why they expected anything different

  8. FloridaGirl Says:

No surprise……..Starting an UDFA QB within the first quarter of the season is waving the white flag – expect most of the vets to be ‘injured’……until 6/BM comes back the team will treat it as a two-three week bye to get ‘football ready’ after the no practice preseason. Coaches even said 50/VV needed until week three to be ready due to the holdout. The rest of the krewe is in the same boat. According to HC Bowles, they haven’t even rolled out the good stuff that will allow vets like 31/TWEEZ to play like they have since peewee football, but like $165m QB1 said, we’re not in playoffs yet, plenty of time to fix it…….HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

    IRA writes “5 Things” weekly…

Allow me to pile on with my own list:

    12 Things:

    1. The Bucs injury report is now longer than the offensive game plan.

    2. Tampa Bay has 11 guys on the injury list. At this point, the medical staff needs a depth chart.

    3. Bowles says it’s “next man up.” We’re rapidly approaching “next fan up.”

    4. Bain’s shoulder disappeared from the injury report and came back. Even the injuries are running trick plays.

    5. Chris Godwin has an ankle issue. Apparently the football gods noticed we still had one good receiver left.

    6. Bucky Irving has a glute injury. The Bucs are officially getting their ass kicked literally and figuratively.

    7. Baker has a dislocated throwing thumb. Perfect. Because apparently 0–3 wasn’t challenging enough.

    8. Eleven injured Bucs? Raymond James should replace the pirate ship with an ambulance.

    9. The Bucs don’t need a Wednesday walkthrough. They need Wednesday rounds.

    10. At this rate, Sunday’s inactive list is just going to say: Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

    11. Forget “Fire the Cannons.” This week it’s “Charge the Defibrillator.”

    12. Tampa Bay’s biggest offseason mistake was not signing a second orthopedic surgeon.

    JBF —

I’m available for my own weekly “12 Things” post. Just holler. I need the outlet.

    Cheers.

  10. 3-28 curse continues Says:

At this point all fans are numb. I’m can’t get worse. It started in December.

  11. Lakeland Says:

They’re only a game out with 14 to play.
If they don’t think they have a chance, they are born losers
You play until the final whistle, no matter what

No player should quit when a game out
Regardless of what, nothing matters but winning football games

  12. Defense Rules Says:

Lakeland … ‘Sign Sterling Shepard off the Jets practice squad’.

Great catch Lakeland; agree 100%. And especially if McMillan goes on IR which’ll open up a WR slot.

  13. buc4evr Says:

Agreed Lakeland, they should have never released Shep. They need to sign him to the roster.
JMac and EE are horrible. Hurst isn’t much better. Sterling is the only one that can get open and hold on to the ball.

Licht and Bowles are idiots for drafting rookies and starting them right away when they are not ready.

  14. 3-28 curse continues Says:

    Todd dropped the mic! 👏

  15. Bejeezusbelt Says:

This totally blows up the 49s power station argument. The Bucs have been doing this for years. Maybe it’s the airport? Or just drafting injury prone players, who knows. Bye Todd bye Jason thank you for the superbowl I will forget that sir.

  16. Defense Rules Says:

Lakeland … ‘They’re only a game out with 14 to play.’

And THAT’S THE POINT: Doesn’t matter a lick what our record is; we’re only 1 game out of 1st place in the NFC South.

I’m not expecting Jalon Daniels to pul a Tom Brady and set the world on fire, but it sure would be nice if the rest of the offense would come alive to support him. You know, fewer giveaways, fewer penalties, better run blocking, better running by our RBs to get their YPC & TDs up, better pass bloacking, better route running by our WRs & TEs AND improved catching the ball so we don’t waste so many downs.

Defense needs to have near-perfect games from here on out in support of Jalon IMO. Bucs have averaged 20.7 PPG for our first 3 games. I’ll be surprised if a rookie QB, operating under this coaching staff, can equal (or better) that. Just means that IF we’re to stand any chance of winning, our defense (and Special Teams) need to really get their acts together and play near-error-free football.

  17. Popcornmike67 Says:

As I said many times last year, the Bucs need to fire the entire training staff. They ran 1 off but kept the rest of the training staff. I know NFL football is a tough job, but for the last few years have the Bucs had anybody on the team that hasn’t missed at least 3 games on the injured list?

  18. capnhowdy Says:

    What Lakeland said^^^^^^^, in earnest.

  19. firethecannons Says:

yet somehow kancy and vea are active, make that make sense

  20. Popcornmike67 Says:

I don’t know about others but, it’s looking more and more like this team is doomed for 026. High draft picks are not gonna help My opinion is, and opinions are like rear-ends, everyone has one but, the Bucs need to clean out the entire coaching and training staff

  21. Fanofdabucs Says:

The NFL used to be the best thing going. I’ve been a Bucs fan since my dad took me to my first game in 78. Been watching my entire life.

But, the league has become a war of attration. Too many injuries. It’s still September and their have been injuries to many QBs and other star players. With the Bucs sucking, I’m just not as into it as I have been all my life.

  22. Sam Says:

They’re like an advent calendar a new surprise everyday and even bigger loss every week. Way to FKG go glazers. Wooohoooo. Love it. Can’t wait for the next big surprise

  23. NCbucfan Says:

In all fairness, Mike is hurt for the 49ers. So not just us

  24. JimBobBuc Says:

Todd, love the dark humor in these dark days.

  25. Buc1987 Says:

Except Shepherd never played in this offense.

  26. Popcornmike67 Says:

Mentioning M Evans, I saw last week where a few said see, Evans is injured all ready the Bucs were lucky. However, on the other hand it must be nice for Evans to be hurt with a team who 3-0 than with the Bucs 0-3 and sinking LOL

  27. SlyPirate Says:

    Will Says:

I think they are all giving up.

    ^^^^^^^^^^

I think Baker subconsciously put himself in a position to get an injury. It’s easier to hide behind and injury than admit you suck.

The rest of the team is following suit. The leadership of this team took a sharp downturn after Arians and TB12 left.

With Baker here, the Bucs will be garbage for the next three years.

  28. Teacherman Says:

    @Lakeland

I saw Sterling Shepherd on the sideline last week. Looking as feisty as ever. He’s not on the practice squad.

I like the idea though. We miss him.

Cut Keift. He’s wasting a roster spot.

    Sign Mark Andrews next year.

If are invested in Baker, we might as well build around him.

    At this point?

I’m all for letting Brederson and Mauch walk next year.

I don’t care how much Licht likes their personalities.

We can invest our 1st and 2nd in guards next year.

We are set at WR, RB, and TE.

What we lack are two MAULERS at guard.

  29. FloridaGirl Says:

    Bye girls bye!!!!!!!!

  30. Tye Says:

What does it matter when a scrub it filling qb position!

  31. Lakeland Says:

    Teacherman

    He’s on the practice squad
He was elevated last week for the game against Detroit
Then he went back to the practice squad after the game
