Mike Evans Foundation Stops Local Fundraising Events
March 25th, 2026
Joe’s been asked for an opinion multiple times about whether Mike Evans will continue hosting events in the Tampa Bay area to raise money for his foundation.
An answer landed in Joe’s inbox today from the Mike Evans Family Foundation. That answer is, No.
The message went out to what seems like a Foundation e-mail list. (Joe is a past donor, so Joe periodically receives Foundation correspondence).
…
Moving forward, we are no longer planning to host fundraising events and this summer in Galveston, we will host our last Free Youth Football Camp. From this point on, Mike and Ashli will dedicate foundation resources primarily to the foundation’s Annual Scholarship Program, which has awarded over $800,000 in college scholarships to students around the country since 2017.
This shift means funding previously used for programs like our youth football camps and holiday events will now go directly toward helping more students attend the college of their dreams. The Mike Evans Family Foundation will continue to be supported through major annual gifts from Mike and Ashli and through the funds raised from past events and dedicated supporters throughout the years. No matter how you’ve supported our mission, thank you for being part of this community.
Evans is making big changes in his life this year, like bolting the Bucs for the 49ers. And among them is ending in-person fundraising in Tampa and beyond.

Maybe he can help clean up all the sh#t on the streets of San Francisco with that CTE induced decision he made he aint gonna win anything watch
March 25th, 2026 at 10:33 am
Looking forward to him limping off the field. Pull that hamstring mike
March 25th, 2026 at 10:37 am
Getting weird from Mike tbh when I watched lavonte’s retirement speech I thought to myself Mike is never going to get that moment
March 25th, 2026 at 10:47 am
I get it.
March 25th, 2026 at 10:53 am
Totally moving on from Tampa. His choice. More power to him.
March 25th, 2026 at 10:54 am
I miss you already, Mike! Good luck. I’ll always cheer for you.
March 25th, 2026 at 10:59 am
@Ufc not classy at all
March 25th, 2026 at 11:00 am
Thanks, Todd. More fallout from 3rd and 28.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:00 am
WTF ?
March 25th, 2026 at 11:02 am
Gotta wonder how many in the last few years stepped up donations when they felt that foundation would always benefit the greater Bay area?
March 25th, 2026 at 11:05 am
He’s done enough for this area – it’s time for other richer players to step up and take over. Winfield, Wirfs, Goedeke, etc.
We all know why Mike didn’t want to come back and it that is the lame duck head coach and terrible defense.
Apathy
March 25th, 2026 at 11:11 am
It’s not uncommon that when the person’s name on the foundation doesn’t have much of a local presence, for the events to slow or even stop.
If he comes back and lives in the community after he retires it may pick back up.
But even if it doesn’t he did a lot while he was here.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:13 am
Assume it’s pretty standard for players to slow down or redistribute some charity activities when moving to a new team (Joe (s) probably know better than I).
And fwiw, have some respect @ucf and @Bryan – Mike represented the Bucs and this community with class for 12 years – let the guy play football where he wants to play. Geeze.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:16 am
Why all the hate for Mike? He is moving to another community and likely choosing to support his new local community. Seems logical. He paid his dues in Tampa and then some.
Cheers to Mike Evans and Best wishes for a big comeback season!
March 25th, 2026 at 11:18 am
That’s a heck of a pic for this article lol
March 25th, 2026 at 11:21 am
Major setback, if true.
1. Baker is Winston 2.0
2. Baker is injury prone
3. Baker has never proven himself a winner
4. The team needs so much talent to be QB-heavy
Say hello to the next decade of depression.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:22 am
I appreciate Mike and everything he’s done for our team and community but I will say he’s pushing himself down the list of my favorite bucs players, not that he cares but still. Even as the best offensive player in bucs history he will never be held in the same regards as Brooks, Sapp and Barber.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:25 am
Makes sense for Mike and Ashli to do this, but I’m happy they will continue the scholarship.
I hope all of us can focus on football here instead of those posting about unrelated topics.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:30 am
What a bunch of horrible useless human beings Bucs fans can be 😂 Mike Evans Family Foundation and what they do probably has never affected a lot of your lives in the slightest which is why it’s so easy to throw hate at a guy who’s foundation is still doing work. It’s not about his foundation which is why people in Tampa want to see him hurt. The Bucs collapsed during the season and the fans are next
March 25th, 2026 at 11:31 am
Bryan Says: “Maybe he can help clean up all the sh#t on the streets of San Francisco with that CTE induced decision he made he ain’t gonna win anything watch”
So now you want him to suck so bad, that he doesn’t make the HOF someday. Okay, gotcha! You root for a guy, and think HE’s the greatest thing EVER for 13-YEARS, but now you hope he fails. When, HE did absolutely nothing to YOU. Hmmmm… Now, that’s some really weird sh!t! Especially, from an “adult.”
March 25th, 2026 at 11:31 am
Big surprise!!!
HAHAHAHAHA!
Who really cares at this point.
Thank goodness the Bucs are finally dumping their dead weight before the plane crash…
March 25th, 2026 at 11:34 am
Let’s not attack Mike. He’s done so much good for this community. More than his fair share. Thank you Mike! Y’all need to chill out.
-David
March 25th, 2026 at 11:38 am
@ LessisMore – Exactly. I’d say he’s probably just a little bit busy right now, wouldn’t ya say, having to move his family literally, across the entire country! Finding a new home, being introduced to everyone under the sun, public events, everyone and their grandmother asking/begging for interviews, meeting new teammates, learning a brand new playbook, and literally, on and ON. So, please. Just fricking MORONS. Total LOSERS. They take it “PERSONALLY.” That’s how insecure their egos are.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:41 am
10-1 Bryan has never set foot in SF.
Even McAfee liked SF. Go figure.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:45 am
@ Ufc Says: “Looking forward to him limping off the field. Pull that hamstring mike.”
YOU are hoping/wishing for a man (a fricking ‘professional’ ATHLETE) to be INJURED. It says a lot more about YOU yourself! Actually, everything you need to know about your maturity-level. I mean, you are THAT fragile!? Come on. How embarrassing for you.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:45 am
He is one of the best bucs to ever wear the uniform and a great human as well. Let him do what he wants with his time and money and then fit him for the gold jacket in Tampa Bay.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:48 am
MelvinJunior. Exactly. He’s busy as he’s been in years and doesn’t have time to be doing his charitable work here. Perfectly fine. Can’t stress enough how busy he must be. Can’t stress enough how busy he’d better be. And I ain’t whistling Dixie.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:50 am
the nerve of him to to focus more on college scholarships.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:51 am
I always thought he was a head case-coming out after running more than 30 yards and his volatility when frustrated. Hope he enjoys that homeless infested rat run city with danger signs of that practice facility affecting player’s health. I will not be Cheering for him and I hope it doesn’t work out. Buh Bye
March 25th, 2026 at 11:53 am
Isn’t this a regular occurrence with most players when they move to another team? some of you are broken really don’t matter to Mike either way. Hope nothing but the best for Mike hope he keeps stacking those stats for his eventual hall of fame induction he is and always will be a good human.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:53 am
If yall are mad at Mike for this then just start your own fundraiser and pick up where he left off. But we all know you won’t do that, you’ll just trash a man that made the best decision for his life and family that has nothing to do with you and doesn’t hurt you. Some of yall are real life losers.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:54 am
All that CA state income tax money is charity enough
March 25th, 2026 at 11:56 am
Styles Round 1
March 25th, 2026 at 12:06 pm
I never understood why he stayed in Tampa as long as he did
He received a lot of hate, when he took a knee
I was on this site defending his rights to free speech
99.5% of the commenters here, and other boards were hating on him
March 25th, 2026 at 12:10 pm
Thanks Baker.
More great work.
Got two HOF players off the team in one offseason.
Only Gruden has done that before with Sapp and Lynch.
March 25th, 2026 at 12:16 pm
The hate for Mike and hoping he fails or gets injured is disgusting. Grow up you guys.
If you are mad at anyone for Mike going to SF and taking his charitable causes with him, be mad at the Glazers and Licht.
Mike wants to win, we all want the Bucs to win and Licht threw that in the trash when Bowles was retained.
March 25th, 2026 at 12:17 pm
If Mike won’t come back over poor coaching, it says more about Mike than it does about coaches.
March 25th, 2026 at 12:17 pm
Pipe it Rod.
Baker has been here 3 years and they had more success with him than any QB not named Brady.
How does that factor into your smart comment?
March 25th, 2026 at 12:21 pm
Anyhony… yeah, it says he wants to win and not inevitably have his 6th OC in 6 years starting 2027.
March 25th, 2026 at 12:23 pm
God bless Mike and his family. Thankful for the time his Charity has been here. He’s a Cali resident now so
March 25th, 2026 at 12:23 pm
I agree with Bee. He might be one of the most unselfish player we have ever had. He might be doing this because he cares about the guys in the WR room. I enjoyed him being a Buc and will follow him just like I did Sapp and Lynch.
March 25th, 2026 at 12:24 pm
@Saskbucs: Yeah, took his ball and went home……….quitter.
March 25th, 2026 at 12:26 pm
I’m proud of him for taking a knee and San Francisco is also a beautiful place. That’s why so many millionaires/billionaires live there. People are being executed by “law enforcement” on the streets even now so it looks like they were very prescient taking knees. Plus they utterly failed us in stopping felons from taking over our government.
Now back to football- Mike is a good guy and should play where he wants. The Bucs will be an excellent football team this year. The defense needs an injection of talent and they will get that in this draft. Our offense should be great again if the O-line is fully healthy and rounds back into form. I expect it will. There are plenty of reasons for optimism, so I ultimately disagree with over half the posters here. Bucs will be fine and better than last year by far if they avoid the major injury bug.
March 25th, 2026 at 12:29 pm
He is not a Buc anymore. Let’s move on till he gets in the hall. Until then he is not a Buc. He is the opponent. He quit us. He is not the guy we thought he was”not a Buc for life”. It’s a Bucs life
March 25th, 2026 at 12:31 pm
I think we go 10-7 this season
We win the NFC South once again.
And we advance in the playoffs, is our ceiling
I’m fully confident of the team this season
March 25th, 2026 at 12:36 pm
Me too, Lakeland, though much depends on health of starters. I hope everyone is working out hard this off-season to avoid injuries!
March 25th, 2026 at 12:36 pm
He can keep his IG workout vids to Cali love today tho
March 25th, 2026 at 12:36 pm
Tbh, I find it kind of pathetic both ways. I get that fans are sad, and Mike does seem to be burning bridges. An agent/lawyer issued farewell to fans does not make up for his implications that the organization (that assured his annual 1000 yd seasons), town (that embraced him thru every turn), or community that has bolstered his tax write off for yrs (only to have him yank the funds from sed community) no longer meet his standard. It is rejecting and kinda rude that he can’t stand in front of a mic for 5 minutes for a legit goodbye. It’s like breaking up via text. Lame. Especially when you consider how hard he is going to lean on the organization and community (including. Ira) when he wants a yellow jacket. So no, I do not believe he has given more than he has received, but it is sad that ppl attack him and wish him harm. Pathetic.
Equally Pathetic are those who think they need to name call and attack other fans in Mike’s defense. You are not his savior or friend, so stop your virtue signaling. Mike is not a god or a hero. He is a multimillionaire from playing a game. He basked in your accolades, enjoyed local perks when out, flew first class on the company dime, and has always done exactly what he wanted. No sacrifices for you or the community. The glory has always been for him..
With that said, thx Mike, I’m still gonna wear your jersey
March 25th, 2026 at 12:37 pm
So is the vibe around mikes legacy tainted a bit at this point?
March 25th, 2026 at 12:43 pm
Munch this wasn’t Baker’s fault one iota. Sorry, but you are more than a little biased. Baker is an excellent quarterback when protected. That’s why our offensive linemen are so statistically good at pass protection. Licht chose them on purpose. However, when they start getting hurt things fall apart quickly. Throws the entire offense out of synch. Once both guards were out we were toast.
March 25th, 2026 at 12:47 pm
Actually, this is a smart move by Mike. Look guys, Mike is already knowin he does not have long in the NFL. He’s reeling it all in, circling the wagons, and getting his retirement assets in order. Dropping the dead weight and concentrating on his family. Smarter than you think. He knows that after the NFL, nobody cares about you. Its Next man up.
March 25th, 2026 at 1:07 pm
Let him retire a 49er- don’t sign him to a one day deal when he tries
March 25th, 2026 at 1:09 pm
I really could care less. Evans moved on.
March 25th, 2026 at 1:17 pm
Evans don’t owe us anything, though we wanted him to suit up as a buc for life can you blame him? Todd Bowles is still our coach and the OC hasn’t been consistent in his entire career hell I think the most consistency was when BA was HC
March 25th, 2026 at 1:19 pm
I just love how people word things these days
Not a very distinguished of proficient exit by Mike tbh
March 25th, 2026 at 1:19 pm
Lmao mannnn F Mike
March 25th, 2026 at 1:21 pm
I agree with CleanHouse. Do not allow him to retire a Buc. I wouldn’t evening of honor is arse
March 25th, 2026 at 1:27 pm
This is really shocking, considering his legacy here. I guess he has no plans of coming back. What the hell happened where he is doing something like this?
March 25th, 2026 at 1:28 pm
Bad look any way you slice it although he is in a no good deed goes unpunished situation. Sad way to see an all timers career unravel. Like the hamstring on the back of his leg.
March 25th, 2026 at 1:35 pm
ME is all about ME.
March 25th, 2026 at 1:36 pm
Let it go, man.. No more Mike talk, please.
March 25th, 2026 at 1:55 pm
Meanwhile bout to extend Mayfield. Good luck with lil purdy
March 25th, 2026 at 2:03 pm
It’s his decision ultimately but it sucks that they are stopping local support so soon after he leaves, this will undoubtedly negatively impact vulnerable populations that depend on this type of community support.
March 25th, 2026 at 2:12 pm
As Letterman used to say, “The Top 10 Things I Don’t Care About At All…” Number 10…
March 25th, 2026 at 2:25 pm
@ Anyhony… more like took his ball over to a more professional field where he has a chance to win ball games. He didn’t quit anything.
No chance of winning meaningful games under Bowles. Zip, zero, nada. I kept the faith for as long as Mike did but the writing is all over the wall. Bowles can’t sniff a champ game.
March 25th, 2026 at 2:30 pm
No problem, hope he is happy. The rest of us think he made a dumb choice that will end up biting him the azz. Seriously, why would anyone move to a city that has its own poop app. Or take a pay cut and to pay state taxes? I think he is just out of his mind if he thinks SF is going to the SB. His hate for Bowles must run deep.. lol.
March 25th, 2026 at 2:31 pm
It’s his choice, and another messed up decision. Hope he loves his new supporters and fans. Screw Evans he threw a wrench in our community.
Can we stop the Evans related articles and discussions. I have had nothing but respect for his integrity and play as a Buc but I’m starting to get sour on him the more we continue to speak about how he discarded Tampa Bay, the suppporters, season ticket holders, volunteers and anyone else who cheered him on and his family. Seems like he has a new life and moved on so can we do it too
March 25th, 2026 at 2:40 pm
@Saskbucs: He went to the third place team in it’s division! Not to mention what competitor shies away from a challenge? He went through the dark days, came, out a champion then bolts when thing get a “little” tough. This team is far from a train wreck and just as close to a championship as San Fran.
March 25th, 2026 at 2:43 pm
@ WILL: It’s the offseason, what else do we have to do?🥱
March 25th, 2026 at 2:46 pm
Don’t worry about Munchkin. He can’t make up his mind anyway. One thread everything is Baker’s fault. Then another thread it’s all the defensive players that shouldn’t be starters. All the players that should be replaced. On top of that Bowles not using. Players right and his soft zone coverage scheme. Oh and his clock management. But hey what is ever floats his boat.
March 25th, 2026 at 2:59 pm
As they should. He is no longer a Buc.
March 25th, 2026 at 3:01 pm
Gipper. There are those type guys out there who you would never punch because a slap would be more than sufficient. Munch, I’ll bet, is one of those guys who you’d never even slap. Because pinching the shlt out of him would be more than sufficient. In my life, I’ve seen 2 guys pinched into submission. Now, Gipper, I’m not saying that Rod is like those 2 guys for sure. Only he knows if a tittie twister takes the fight out of him. But if it does than he shouldn’t be a tackling dummy on our team.
March 25th, 2026 at 3:18 pm
I cannot read anymore posts about Mike Evans. Please, for the love of Christ, stop writing about Mike Evans.
March 25th, 2026 at 3:25 pm
before you know it mike will be doing soap on a rope commercials for local san fran tv 🙂
March 25th, 2026 at 3:32 pm
Mike is loosing a lot of luster from his time here in Tampa. My takeawy is that he wanted out of here. If that’s the case – don’t let the door hit ya. Bye.
March 25th, 2026 at 3:34 pm
We may be burying the lead…
Less money and higher taxes…gotta cut back.
(We also asked Joe why Mike left. Can we address the problem or just move on? And it’s not ButtMunch’s reason!)
Hey Rod, support the guys who stayed, not who left and admit Bowles played a HUGE factor. Otherwise, you have zero credibility.
March 25th, 2026 at 3:36 pm
Rod Munch is more obsessed with Baker than Todd Golden is with Epstein’s biography.

Shows how stupid some people are . Mike brought us a SB. Wrong! The team brought us a SB. Evans was part of a TEAM. No single player did it by themself. Play that game about QB’s then Brady did it by himself.
March 25th, 2026 at 5:17 pm
So Mike is done with the football camps and will now focus on getting kids a higher education.
Sounds like an improvement to me.
Perhaps he read some of the JBF “love stories” between some fans and Baker and thought, “Now here’s some people who could use some higher education!”

You crossed over to the troll side fast. You will be the one kissing Bakers arse when he kicks ass this year. I can’t believe how easy you were persuaded.
March 25th, 2026 at 5:25 pm
Why?
Oh, did Mike leave? Where did he go?
Quick, let’s all get up and run around in circles, waving our arms over heads, squealing madly.
I suspect that’s happening in the JoeBuc world headquarters.
He’s gone. Lavonte’s gone. The window shut. The chance is gone. As soon as possible, Mayfield will be outta here.
Then the only above average footballers left will be Wirfs and Vea. Everybody else are average to scrub level.
That’s what happens when your GM thinks he’s a genius, and keeps ignoring a critical part of the team.
Yeah, if you give up a 4th and 28- it’s over. Our great offense can’t carry the losers on defense.
Get ready for a 5-10 year rebuild, IF we luck into a QB!
March 25th, 2026 at 5:31 pm
Hard to run a local charity when you aren’t local anymore. I see this as normal, it’s not like he’s moving everything to SF, he’s just changing his focus because he doesn’t live here. Notning burger.
March 25th, 2026 at 6:47 pm
Buc fans turning into lil scorned women like the Bakiegirls over Mike’s change of charity focus. He’s given and done more in that area than 99% of all of the residents of Tampa combined.
Rod Munch sending Bakiegirls to rehab with his sadistic trolling…….. so funny reading their pain
March 25th, 2026 at 7:00 pm
Let’s see if any of the funds raised in Tampa help the local youth or will it help kids in TX or even his new home on the left coast. If no kids benefit in Tampa, this will be a bad look for Mike.
March 25th, 2026 at 8:26 pm
I apologize if this was already said; it bothers me when people read the headline and just go straight to post their comments. I read the post. I read two dozen commenters (an approximation). But it stuck in my craw—not craw, CRAW!—that Joe used this headline and opener to evoke emotional response about Evans. Sure, he’s pulling his Tampa-based events—and Galveston too (did he forsake his actual hometown because he’s a 9’er?! Quick—let’s craft some midlife crisis series of articles to capitalize on this!)
[Note: I was ok with Steve’s—I mean Joe’s—recent Ira Kaufman Podcast take that the JBF World HQ decision was to follow Evans’ next season (at least) because of how many fans he has in this town. But the same “this Joe” has admitted to being “pissed off” at Mike’s decision to leave (maybe because that Joe was adamant Evans wouldn’t and now has that crow to eat?)—so I would caution The JBF ThinkTank to be wary of the easy, TMZ-like narrative-molding angles that sow the tantrum you feel in private, but wish was shared by the Public.]
Look—I have two M1K3 jerseys, one signed—and I’ve already decided to cherish them (but never wear them again). Now moving on.
I already know I don’t *have* to read articles because both Ira and Lee feel the need to maintain a senile/goldfish disposition about repeating the same rhetoric on subjects that have already been written about and said on previous podcasts. Going Full Click-Bait in the offseason just means I can spend my Bucs-related interest more efficiently elsewhere.
Now I expect either no response or something pejorative that proves you aren’t listening.
March 25th, 2026 at 9:00 pm
Him and the Bucs /Tampa are divorced,,Im sure hes relieved! This site is atrocious! It’ll be nice to see him flourish in his golden years with a great organization ! Rock on Mike ! Another 1000 awaits with Purdy! Guaranteed playoffs!
March 25th, 2026 at 9:05 pm
i hope he does youth camps in cali so my son can go. it sure would soften the blow considering were longtime fans and itd be great to meet him despite being in that lame niners jersey. straight up niners fans dont appreciate what they got. i talk to em daily they all are gonna blame him if they dont win it all. that how dumb they are. feisco aint doing it lets be real i think he made the wrong decision. still our guy tho! Go Bucs!

March 25th, 2026 at 9:17 pm
What we need are many more articles about the Bucs failure to retain Mike after “successfully” retaining Bowles. It’s what people want to read. Educated fans love Mike and are right there with him and his decision to get far away from the Bucs train wreck, and the train’s driver who is about to slam it into the side of a second mountain. Just when I thought I’d seen more maroonity than humanly possible, we have the specimens above. Good night nurse.
March 25th, 2026 at 9:30 pm
3,28 there’s nothing else to talk about! Licht hasn’t made a splash ,just belly flops, Im thinking he blew his wad with Brady ,its the nastiness from these people here ..they might be right ?
March 25th, 2026 at 9:39 pm
Look Mike doesn’t owe us nothing. The folks that just want to bash and talk smack are probably fans that just haven’t been around through the dark times, or are just wannabe acknowledged. Mike has done a lot for Tampa and I appreciate all of that. Will he be treated differently than Lavonte on the way he went out? Of course yes and that’s just part of life but let’s hope his decision of leaving brings more joy to his life. Time will tell. Go Bucs!
March 25th, 2026 at 9:49 pm
Capt Tim is correct- it all comes down to negligences by Licht. We needed to reload on linebackers two seasons ago. We suck and you’re not smart.
Bowles is unbearable.
No wonder he jumped ship but still, eff him.
6-10 team
March 25th, 2026 at 10:06 pm
He did a ton in the community, I’m sure he’ll continue to give back elsewhere. Nothing wrong with shifting his charitable efforts.
March 25th, 2026 at 10:57 pm
Steve V – I was referring to the imbecillen epidemic, from rocket sturgeons who think the Bucs are better off without Mike and hating on him, pretending the Bucs will win the decrepit NFC South, rather than accepting the obvious that whether intentional or otherwise, the Bucs of 2026 will more resemble the Bucs of 2014 than even the Bucs of 2025.
Vomitous.
March 25th, 2026 at 11:06 pm
Mike we appreciate all the things you did while you were here. Good luck.
To bucs fans,
Just because you’re bitter that mike did what he feels is best for him and his family you are terrible for bashing that man. One of you said “can’t wait to see you limp off the field”, you should be ashamed of yourself. If Mike stayed you would be saying how he’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. You are a fair weather fan. Tampa fans are known through the leagues cities fans that be vs fans aren’t even close to being fans in cities like Pittsburgh or Green Bay. I understand that in Florida there is a lot of transplants and that there is lots of things to do YEAR ROUND. Shameful to attack that man . No wonder Bucs fans are considered fair weather fans in most NFL cities. Good grief!! Shameful.
Good luck Mike 13 . Thanks for leaving it out there on the field week in and week out.

Can’t blame Mike for getting out of town – no one wants to play with Bum Baker. That’s why the Bucs FA haul is a couple of old LB’s from Detroit and having to pay above market value for a back-up RB, and even Cade Otton didn’t give the Bucs a hometown discount.

Bakiegirl responses to any criticism of their mangawd is repetitive and asinine. Someone says “hey Baker’s shoe is untied” and the Bakerbodsquad starts getting into little tiffs and hifivin each other for their comments. Super Bakiegirl Troller Rod Munch boils their blood with his posts!!!
