BSPN Prediction: Mike Evans Stays Home
March 5th, 2026More evidence that Mike Evans’ agent, Deryk Gilmore, is a con artist if not a well-known fearmonger.
Over at BSPN, Stephania Bell has had enough of Gilmore’s scare tactics, baseless if not mindless claims and double-talk. Bell typed for the four-letter that when the free agency smoke clears next week, the greatest offensive player in Bucs history will still be wearing the pewter and red.
Evans, Bell types, isn’t going anywhere.
Despite flirting with other suitors dangling promises of going to the big dance, wide receiver Mike Evans will stay in Tampa Bay. He has already won a Super Bowl in this town and were it not for the Buccaneers’ injuries last season, the team might have dominated the division. Before anyone writes him off due to his age (32), it’s worth noting Evans’ nine missed games due to a collarbone injury in 2025 were an outlier, and in the eight games he did play, he was targeted on one-third of his red zone routes (fourth best among WRs with 50-plus targets).
Joe has been irked by this apparent notion — coming straight from Gilmore’s bullsh!t factory — that Evans has a demand for more targets. That’s just nonsense if you run the stats. Evans gets plenty of targets.
And from Bell’s intel, Evans gets plenty of targets where it counts: the red zone, where catches often turn to touchdowns.

He is not the Mike Evans of HOF play
and you think he has 20 brutal games left in his old and worn out body?
Get over it
Get a grip on what a NFL WR plays like in 2026

Nobody will pay him.
March 5th, 2026 at 7:30 am
His body isnāt all that worn out. Heās always been bigger and stronger than the guy lined up across from him. Thatās why heās such a great run blocker too- one of the best ever on the outside.

Bucs sign Hendrickson and re-sign Evans and head to the show before our older players retire one last time. After a brilliant draft class trading down, we make it too.
March 5th, 2026 at 7:36 am
one more round Mikey!!!
March 5th, 2026 at 7:38 am
Evans is going to want 25 million that could pay for Hendrickson. Which player is going to make the Bucs better. With out Evans we still have a good WR crew with out Hendrickson the Bucs D will suck.

I don’t get how people are saying ME is worn out. Actually take a look at how quickly he recovered from the collar bone injury. He was in incredible shape last year. The problem with ME last year was not him . With that said he has 2 good solid years ahead. Let’s hope he gets signed. I have been saying all along NE will make a run at him. Yesterday they released Stephon Diggs. They are going to make a play at Evans just watch.
March 5th, 2026 at 7:45 am
They ought to being back those old Michael Jordan commercials- āLike Mike, if I could be like Mikeā for Evans.
Seriously Bucs- letās give this year our best possible shot. We are running out of time with our best veterans. We have the offensive talent. Beef up the defense and get 1 swing guard/tackle to help make it through this next long season.

Bucs are already on the books for 13mil for Evans this year. Sign him for 2 year 35 mil guarantee 17mil.
March 5th, 2026 at 7:53 am
Bobby Okekee just got released by giants there’s you linebacker you need
March 5th, 2026 at 7:53 am
All these people wanting Hendrickson…the same as last year. And he ended up playing only 5 games.
Keep Evans. Draft edge.
March 5th, 2026 at 7:57 am
Hey HC Grover I donāt know if youāre being sarcastic or not but you must have not had your coffee yet if you think no one will pay Mike lol
March 5th, 2026 at 8:05 am
No Bonzai, not even close to “same as last year”. I wanted nothing to do with Reddick or give up draft picks for Hendrickson. But as a FA, Hendrickson is exactly what this team needs. He wanted nothing to do with Cincy and told them as much in training camp. Bring him back to his home state and watch him produce.
Curious why youre so against bringing in a guy who has produced huge sacks numbers in both NO and Cincy?
Draft edge? At 15..who??

Deryk āHappyā Gilmoreā¦a Jackie Chiles stunt doubleā¦is playing chicken with J-Licht & Assoc. Iām not sure if Licht can help himself and may overpay/extendā¦as he is wont to do.
March 5th, 2026 at 8:10 am
It’s all up to Mike. Licht & the Bucs should stick to a number and let Mike decide if he wants to bolt for more. He will get offered more to leave and matching that number would be a mistake. Reminds me of Stamkos. How’d that work out for the Lightning and the Predators?

Adult, big picture thinking, successful, well run teams make tough business decisions and do things a year early. For one, letās forget about a gd 5 yr deal that some people are advocating – thatās not going to happen. If he stays it will be another 1-2 year deal. Whatās the cap hit. Is it 25 million? Would that prevent Tampa from signing a Trey Hendrickson?
1. What did the Bucs offense look like when Evans (and Godwin for that matter) look like upon their return. Please advise.
2. Can anyone guarantee that Evans will stay healthy? Will he miss a quarter of the season and is that worth 25million.
3. I am sick and tired of blaming everything on injuries. There were numerous teams that had it worse than we did, in tougher divisions.
4. Are we a Mike Evans away from a Super Bowl? Does it future proof us at the position? Does it solve our lack of speed issue. The Bucs still need a stud x. A true X. And no, Ebuka and McMillan are not that.

Schefter reporting that Riley Dixon team option will be exercised. So we have one problem solved in case Zac is Grizzard 2.0.
Also saw that Sean Tucker will hit the open market.

Some of you are real weirdos. Ungrateful ones too go be raiders fans or something dead ass
March 5th, 2026 at 9:15 am
The only reason Evans didnt reach 1000 yards was because he was thrown a pass so well, that the defender “had no choice” but to take a penalty to try and stop the play. (AND HE STILL CAUGHT IT!!!) Washed? To quote the famous(?) Al Borlan: “I don’t think so, Tim!”

Evans to Buffalo makes the most sense.
