Jay Glazer: Todd Bowles’ Job Security Is Uncertain

January 4th, 2026

Sunday report.

So FOX Sports NFL super insider Jay Glazer does not break stories like he used to, but his sources are elite and he doesn’t throw nonsense out there.

This morning on FOX, Glazer hosted a feature on NFL head coaches on a hot seat, or at least a warm seat.

Included was Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles. Glazer placed Bowles in a “Time Will Tell” category.

That echoed the Saturday take of ESPN super insider Adam Schefter, another guy with close ties at One Buc Palace.

Was Team Glazer waiting on a decision until after the Saints-Falcons game this afternoon? The Bucs missed the playoffs as a result of Atlanta beating the Saints 19-17.

Time till tell.

A lot.

Glazer asked the FOX studio panel of analysts whether any name seen below surprised them. None, including Rob Gronkowski, mentioned Bowles.

It would be fitting to fire todd Bowles tomorrow at 3:28 pm.

  4. August1976Buc Says:

Na na na na na hey hey hey Good bye!!!!!!!! See you Todd, your a decent man, but not as decent HC See YA!!!!!

  5. Nutterbuccer Says:

7 out of 9 losses without a good defense lol should already be gone. See ya!!!!! Habe a feeling licht might be gone too

  6. DJR589 Says:

Who are the hot coaching candidates??!!

  7. Austin Says:

I love Todd and wish it would of worked out, just like with D white, but it’s obviously not my man, time to retire.

Thanks for a epic defensive performance in the super bowl!

  8. TheBucsAnthem Says:

    FYCH YEAH!!!!

  9. LFG Bucs Says:

Uncertain? Do the right thing Glazers.

  10. IrishTony Says:

    Black Monday

  11. Cardiac kidz Says:

Time to make the change. Get the OC from the Rams, draft a guard , buy a proven Edge rusher and get back to the playoffs

  12. Steve Says:

    Time has told.

  13. Tony1775 Says:

They booking Cancun vacations as we speak.

  14. Shane247 Says:

Todd Bowles 33 – 42! You are what your record says you are! A sub .500 coach who for reasons beyond my understanding has been labeled a defensive guru. Terrible coach, terrible coaching staff!

  15. Zzbucs Says:

If he goes, Glazers should fire the GM too.

  16. BuxfaninTX Says:

Your “ring of honor gm” picked this group of players ..he shoulders blame as well

  17. Jeebs the Honey Bear Says:

    Let’s examine the evidence:
    1) Liam Coen hired as Bucs OC. Baker has career year and Bucs look to be on the rise despite a mostly mediocre defense.
    2) Liam Coen leaves, Bucs become terrible. Jaguars go from garbage to great.

We clearly let the better coach leave the building. So why keep the inferior one? That would make no sense. Fire Bowles.

  18. Usfbucs Says:

The Bucs had to wait to see if they made the playoffs. I expect the announcement any time now. I doubt Bowles accepts a legit DC under him though that might have saved his job.

  19. MikeCk Says:

We will have to see who the available coaching candidates are, but Jesus is there really anybody worse than Todd Bowles? I mean for a defensive guy. Our defense is pretty much sucked ass for the last four or five years with brief moments of greatness. He’s not a scheme guy and he’s not a culture guy and he has had this team hovering at barely above mediocrity for years. Hasn’t every GM learned at this point that you need either an offensive minded head coach. Hasn’t every GM learned at this point that you need either an offensive minded head coach or a guy who changes the culture, not a quiet former defensive coordinator.

This team has all the talent it needs. We have a really good quarterback. We have a great GM great wide receiver courses good backs lots of talent on defense, although a little old linebacker the fact that we did great for the first 67 games and then the wheels came off means it is 100% coaching. Players don’t forget how to play or get slower coaches. Don’t game plan.

  20. BayouBullet Says:

If the bucs don’t fire Bowles the fans will fire thee bucs….it’s that simple

  21. DrunkInYbor Says:

    6 and 2 to 8 and 9…..FIRE TODD BLOWS

  22. Adam Says:

    Onwards Buc fans!!!
    The nightmare is finally over

  23. Rod Munch Says:

Enjoy the decade long rebuild, where we long for the days of being 8-9 and being talked about as being in the playoff picture.

I’m not a Bowles baker, I wanted Coen last season – said not to let him leave, but the NFL rules made it impossible to promote him to HC, so I get why things happened the way they happened. But this season, there isn’t anyone else in the building to take over, and Baker is coming off an awful season where he was so bad he might get everyone fired, and a new coach is stuck with him.

The point of not firing Bowles is about not firing him THIS offseason – because the Bucs are in a terrible spot to try to hire any good candidate because of Baker, because the new coach is stuck with him because of the $42M cap hit, and the Bucs don’t draft high enough to get a top QB prospect. Baker is good enough to again win 6 or 7 or 8 games next year, which again means you won’t be drafting high enough to get a new QB, etc, etc etc – and that’s the issue and why the Bucs won’t get a top coaching prospect, and will just end up with another middling Bowles like option.

The idea that Baker is a draw is nonsense. If Bowles gets fired, it’s because Baker lost 4 games in a row by himself, and no top coaching prospect is going to want a QB that was so bad he got everyone fired.

I’d rather wait a season, see what Baker looks like ‘when he’s healthy’, see if there is any 2024 Baker left in him – then after next season blow it up and start over, when you’ll be able to get a top coach since they’ll have have some good pieces to work with, but will have the option to do what they want at QB.

  24. Usedtocould Says:

I wanted him gone when he wasted Brady’s last season

  25. HC Grover Says:

Not just Bowzo….the rest of the bums at the office too.

  26. Outrigger Says:

Or we could fire Todd at 4:14

  27. DrunkInYbor Says:

    Cardiac Kifz
Time to make the change. Get the OC from the Rams, draft a guard , buy a proven Edge rusher and get back to the playoffs

    ……..I agree 💯 percent…..

  28. Upstate NY Buc Fan Says:

Hire McCarthy for a few years for head coach! Flores for assistant head coach, in waiting, will be set! Go Tampa

  29. HC Grover Says:

Much I will enjoy the rebuild more than .500 Bowzo and Co and Licht draft picks that suck.

  30. BrianBucs Says:

Firing Bowles is an actual no-brainer

  31. Maggs Says:

    Hey Jeebs
Not to mention Canales. That’s even harder to swallow. Canales is in the division and a better coach. At least coen is in afc and to me the jags have more talent. Canales got a lot out of less talent. And he’s a stand up guy. This has to be hard for the glaziers to process.

  32. MadMax Says:

    DUVAAAAAAAAAAAAAALL!!!!!

  33. JoeyJoeStein Says:

The professional charlatan’s: Glazer, Rappaport, Schefter, et al.,are all cut from the same grifter cloth. They have zero credibility and are pathetic actors reading a script.

  34. It’s Exciting!!!! Says:

Go Glazers!!! Give us the respect we deserve.
Let’s hire a coaching staff that won’t give up!!!!!!

  35. Boltsfan17 Says:

Fire Licht first. You don’t want him anywhere near a coaching search. Tear this condemned house down to the studs and start over.

  36. szymboj Says:

I hope to see sweeping changes for Tampa Bay this offseason. What a disgusting second half of the season, an absolute disgrace to watch.

I’m glad I spent time with friends yesterday over wasting my time finally watching the Bucs win a game what was essentially worthless.

I hope Carolina is blasted in the first round, as well. No one from the South deserved a playoff spot this season.

  37. Sal Volatile Says:

I wonder if Baker is on the phone to his agent saying “Get me out of here !”

  38. SteveK Says:

Hire LaFleur or Harbaugh if they get canned. Lol. Come on now.

  39. Tony1775 Says:

Instead of Raise the Flag, they Raised the ticket prices 🤣, and the team stinks. Bowels should have been fired after blowing 2022 playoff game to Rams. Then we get multiple offensive coordinators that never called plays before. Coen walks, and he has transformed the Jags.

  40. James west Says:

I wanna know our number in the draft, as far as bowels and gizzard, to hell with them 2, move on Jason Licht if you want to keep your job

  41. Pewter Power Says:

Time will tell? You don’t have to be an insider to state the obvious. The Joe’s have been saying that for weeks. Sometimes these guys are just taking credit for absolutely nothing

  42. Outrigger Says:

People keep saying get the OC from the Rams. The problem is the OC for the Rams is Sean McVay. The guy with the OC title has no experience running an offense or calling plays. The best OC candidates are Joe Brady, Klint Kubiak and Todd Monken.

  43. SteveK Says:

    Rod,

I’d rather start fresh than embrace mediocrity with a defensive coach with a piss poor pass defense. Licht needed to make a trade, bit he was too dumb to do it. It’s sad.

  44. oGBucsfan33510 Says:

If you fire Bowles, Licht must also go! Nothing changes with Licht as gm. Also all of his early defense draft picks are busts. he did an amazing job addressing the pass rush this offseason.

  45. Lightningvinny1 Says:

Fire him,,, hire Lafluer after Packers lose next weekend ,,, get the tandem of Stefanski /Schwartz , Kubiak, Diabol,, or a tandem Florres/Mcdaniel

  46. Patrick Says:

I’d rather go for a young coach, but if we hire a veteran, I wouldn’t mind Mike McCarthy. Getting three 12 season wins while having to deal with Jerry Jones is not easy. Pair him with Licht and it may be a good team

  47. Colonel Angus Says:

    So we finished 2nd?

  48. Miller5252 Says:

Of course on their 50th year the Bucs go full out to make sure it’s a season that will never be forgotten by the fans. Glazers make it a huge year spending all types of money to watch this team and coaching staff go from MVP, offense rookie of the year, possible record setting 1000 yard season and ranked #1 in the nfl to full on missing the playoffs!!! What a way to do the 50th season!!

  49. Conte Piscatelli Says:

I will miss Mike Evans and Levante David!!! Two absolute class dudes and should be first ballot Hall of Famers!! I believe we have seen the last of both in Bucs jerseys.

  50. Rocket10 Says:

According to ESPN Mayfield is 12th in NFL in QBR
but gurus on here want him gone, he didn’t play well second half of season but you all loved him first 8 games, changes need to be made, but Mayfield shouldn’t be one of them

  51. Rod Munch Says:

    Hey Jeebs
Not to mention Canales. That’s even harder to swallow. Canales is in the division and a better coach.

    ——

Canales is the definition of a middling coach. Him and Bowles are completely interchangeable.

Coen was special. Said it last year, during the year, during the offseason, he was the most important person in that building, including all the players. But again, the Glazers literally could not just promote him, the NFL rules don’t allow it because they think it’s still 1860. To hire Coen they would have had to first fire Bowles, do a sham hiring process of doing token interviews, it would be a complete and total mockery, then at the end, only then could they hire Coen – who in the meantime could have avoided the circus and signed somewhere else. Like in Jacksonville, for example, where he’d have a much younger team with a better QB.

  52. Usfbucs Says:

The worst part is our two previous OCs winning their division.

I think the players are mostly fine on offense thy have shown the can execute so we need to bring in an OC who can be more creative. We need a HC who is willing to just be the HC and not two roles. Then we need a smart aggressive DC.

  53. HC Grover Says:

LOL even more embarrasing for the Carolina Shrimps.

  54. GaBucinRH Says:

Agree with playoff debacle against the Rams…had an awesome chance to repeat..and Bowles did destroy Brady’s last season

  55. GaBucinRH Says:

    Panthers get destroyed next week

  56. HC Grover Says:

USF I called that HC/DC long ago but no one paid attention.

  57. Nicholas Carlson Says:

Matt Lafleur and John Harbaugh would be good hires

  58. Tony1775 Says:

    GaBuvinRH. 100%

  59. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Shouldn’t be uncertain. Tomorrow’s press conference should be “Todd Bowles has been relieved of all coaching responsibilities for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He’s turned in all keys and key cards and taken his playbook with him. We thank him for his service and wish him luck going forward”

  60. Not Says:

Todd got no air time about who should go from the FOX guys. It was very disheartening, but there are so many coaches who could get the axe and not many like Coen who could have stepped up .

BTW did you see Coen’s passion in the locker room with his Jags ?

    Another fumble by the Glazers.

  61. ScottNFL Says:

The Bucs will likely either fire Bowles or let him be the head coach another year. What I mean by this is that it is silly to think that the a glazers would bring him back and then make him coach with some assistant coaches that are forced on him…..that would be completely disjointed and I cannot believe that ai keep hearing local talk radio saying this over and over. Thankfully, the Glazers are smarter than the guys on local talk radio.

  62. Tye Says:

Liam Coen 13 win season 1st year HC in the playoff having to teach his system…

Bucs already knew the system, so Liam Coen could have had the Bucs dominate the putrid South division and a team we could ALL be proud of….

Glazers screwed us out of that opportunity last year when they had the chance…
Get us a HC that is a WINNER!

  63. SB~LV 🏈 Says:

    Ronde for GENERAL MANAGER!
This team is a a whisker away from a REBUILDING program.
The 2026 draft and free agency signings are… critical does not due to situation justice!
    Evans is gone or retired
    David is retired
Starting positions open by the handful on both sides of the ball!
    Code Red !

  64. Sal Volatile Says:

The owners caught lightning in a bottle when they acquired TB12.
I doubt they catch anything more than lightning bugs from now on.

  65. chark Says:

I.d go with Monken for now..unless better name appears. The bucs job is a good job. Coen would have had 3 to 4 more wins with this team. No panic other than getting a new coach. The bucs job is not a rebuild just need better coaches.

  66. SteveK Says:

Alright Glazers, make your move! We are waiting and expecting a shakeup. Don’t snooze on the chance to get a top candidate.lets go!

  67. Rod Munch Says:

BTW, Bucs current 14th in draft order.

    Let the mocks begin…

  68. Let ‘em bake Says:

Would love to see lafluer work with a baker, but atlanta radio believes he’s Atlanta bound…

  69. Deeboooo Says:

    Well said Rod

Keeping Bowles isn’t about liking him or thinking he’s the guy.

It’s about getting us to the next step of this reload without fully going into reboot mode.

  70. DFWBuc Says:

Joe… I’ll let Grok sum up my dismay at this season and hope this comes true.
Ode to the End of the Bowles Era
In Tampa’s sun, where dreams of glory burn,
Todd Bowles returned, with lessons yet to learn.
From Jets’ green fields, where hopes once crashed and fell,
A 24-40 mark, a tale too grim to tell.Four years he steered the pirate ship through storms,
Three divisions claimed, in post-Brady forms.
But patterns old, like ghosts, refused to fade—
Hot starts to slumps, the faithful’s trust betrayed.Six-and-two in twenty-five, the cannons roared,
Baker’s arm aflame, the South seemed firmly moored.
Then darkness fell, seven losses in nine cruel games,
Defense crumbled soft, offense bore the blames.Eight-and-nine the tally, no playoff berth to claim,
Third in the weak South—Panthers stole the fame.
Falcons’ final win sealed our bitter fate,
A three-way tie broken, closing Bowles’ gate.Twice now he’s captained teams to losing shores,
Jets first, then Bucs— the faithful cry for more.
Stoic on the sideline, blitzes bold and fierce,
But late-game collapses pierced us like a spear.Glazers, hear the roar from pewter-clad throng:
Time to turn the page, where Bowles no more belongs.
Thank you for the fights, the titles hard-won three,
But second sunken ship demands a new decree.Raise the flags anew, seek a bolder helm,
To plunder victories, overwhelm the realm.
Farewell, Coach Todd, your Buccaneer tale ends—
On to fresher winds—Go Bucs, ascend

  71. HC Grover Says:

Time to let go all our so called ‘Stars’ Start over.

  72. Rod Munch Says:

Glazers screwed us out of that opportunity last year when they had the chance…
Get us a HC that is a WINNER!

    ————-

So again, I ask, how do the Glazers hire Coen to take the HC job, explain the process…

  73. SteveK Says:

Ready for something different. Ready for Licht to make a move for a pass rusher and not a dumb ass one or another non-move. Your pass rushing draft picks don’t stand out and that is on him.

  74. Bosch Says:

Only way the Glazers save face is to make Licht the scapegoat goat for letting Coen get away and pushing them to reward Bowels. I mean, he is the football expert, right? And the Glazers? Well you have to give them credit to be smart enough to stay out of the public eye.

  75. Greg Says:

If they don’t fire Bowles. I won’t watch or attend one game next year. The table is SET to do the right thing. Nice guy, poor coach.

  76. Usfbucs Says:

Without knowing how much Bowles was involved in player selection we as fans can’t really know if Licht is to blame for some of the draft picks. I am sure the Glazers know though. I think overall Licht has done a good job in the draft. There have been a few head scratchers on picks but overall our draft classes have received passing grades. The one area where Licht really frustrated me was not making more moves this season with it potentially being Evans and Davids last year.

  77. MadMax Says:

I predict Todd will retire to save face….that rumor and his “giving up” body language has been relevant since the bye week.

  78. Shane247 Says:

Jags 13-4! Bucs 8-9 Well done Glazers!

  79. Darin Says:

    He’s toast

  80. HC Grover Says:

After all the years of Buc Radio so glad Gene got to leave with a big BUCS WIN!!! He was so much fun for so man people.

  81. SteveK Says:

    Munch,

Glazers could’ve fired Bowles last year and interviewed Coen while still satisfying the Rooney rule. They could’ve found a way if it meant that much to them. It should have, I agree with you he’s a special talent at calling offense.

  82. Tom Edrington Says:

KEEP BOWLES — IT’LL BE GREAT FOR 2026 SEASON TICKET SALES!

  83. It's Corn Says:

no way the Glazers would have hired Bowles if they had done a full coaching search. It was payoff to Arians to keep his mouth shut about Brady wanting him out.

You have to earn a job, for the fans to respect you, and he didn’t earn it, so they never have.

  84. J Says:

Clean house. Fire Bowles, Griz and the rest of the dead weight we’re carrying. Bridgewater, Reddick, etc. out. Useless signings.

  85. Chris Says:

    8-9 with Brady
    9-8
    10-7
    8-9
Year after year Bowles defense is horrible
Tampa made a huge mistake a franchise changing decision letting Coen go and keeping Bowles. The fans were saying last year to fire Bowles and keep Coen…. Coen is 13-4 won the division and possibly the #1 seed in the AFC now Tampa should be searching for a new HC at least let’s hope so. At least we saw what this offense was capable of last year. Imagine that offense with good DC. I doubt we’d be looking from the outside in.

  86. SteveK Says:

Licht not making a trade for a
Pass rusher is criminal. He failed our team.

  87. Mike Johnson Says:

I;m just glad we fans were finally put out of our seasonal misery today. It was like being on life support. We do not deserve any playoffs and most Buc fans know it. Lets see if the Glazers got a pair and do the right thing by firing Todd Bowles.

  88. Kenny Says:

What’s the argument for keeping bowles? I’ve never heard anyone make it.

  89. OLDSCHOOL1976 Says:

I would instantly take LeFluer or McDaniel over Bowels and consider Harbaugh
Time will tell? MondayEOD or sooner will tell. I want to believe the canceled press
Conference from this morning means something.

  90. Rod Munch Says:

The idea that people think Baker is anything but a hinderance to getting a new coach is ridiculous.

If Bowles is fired, what new coach, outside of retreads and middling options, wants to tie themselves to a QB that was so awful for 2 months that he got everyone fired?

Baker was terrible, single handedly lost 4 games in a row with 1st place on the line – and went 2-7 down the stretch. What top young prospect is going to look at that, and say, yes, I want to tie my future to him.

Baker is why the Bucs should stick with Bowles for one more year – because you’re not going to get anything but another middling candidate as better coaches will want a blank slate or a young guy to work with. Baker is older, has a big contract, and has played like dirt when the team needed him the most.

Stop living in your Baker Boi bubbles and face reality.

  91. HC Grover Says:

Cris we all said dump Bowzo and keep Coen. Glazers blew it.

  92. adam from ny Says:

    digest this:

    forget the coen thing…

we just got leapfrogged by both of our old OC’s…

    coen and davey cantaloupes………….both

  93. adam from ny Says:

and we’re stuck with todd grizzle…

    who has absolutely zero sizzle…

    and is mostly just fizzle

  94. Couch Fan Says:

Man I feel like I’ve been waiting forever for Buc fans to wake up and get this passionate about firing Super Todd. Its about time. Now get on it Glazers!

  95. Shane247 Says:

Shoulda, coulda, woulda, didn’t! Glazer’s, this is squarely on you! Please hire a competent president of football operations and step away from doing anything but writing checks!

  96. GaBucinRH Says:

I’d give Licht a pass but Bowles and staff have to go..special teams alone was a joke as well as Bowles defensive philosophy and scheme and lack of adjustments in game… but a pass rush is so needed… secondary can only hold for so long.. we need change.. I’m just a fan but it’s so obvious this staff is not gonna do better

  97. HeavyE Says:

He shouldn’t be the only one to go……. baker, Licht and Grizz, should join him!!!!

  98. JBBUCS_06 Says:

Bring Harbaugh or Monken and Lamar, hire Flores as DC and get some punch back into our Offense and Defense. Period.

  99. Josh Says:

I said this last year: striking gold twice was crazy. Grizzard really isn’t bad; he’s just not Coen or Canales. Canales is a pretty solid offensive mind, and so far, Coen has shown that he’s one of the best in the league. Time will tell, but to all the people saying, “GET US A WINNER!!” — that ship may have sailed last year. The NFL is a win-now league. I hope there’s another great coordinator out there, but this year I personally didn’t see any real standouts. Bill Belichick had a rule: he would rather get rid of a player too early than too late. Unfortunately for the Bucs organization, that might be the case with Bowles.

  100. Ricardo Says:

This is an uninspired team. No draft pick or free agent is going to fire this team up. Look at the pats and vrabrel. The bears and Johnson. Demeco and the Texans. This team has the talent to win the NFC south, bowels has never been the butt kicker these young men need to inspire them when talent alone won’t carry them over the hump. The Bucs have to make a change.

  101. adam from ny Says:

wow grizz is so bad i’m calling him todd ^^^

    now that’s bad lol

What’s the argument for keeping bowles? I’ve never heard anyone make it.

    ——–

    I’ve made it many times.

Baker Mayfield is a $42M cap hit next year, so any new coach is going to be stuck with a QB that played so terrible down the stretch he just got everyone fired. The Bucs pick 14th in the draft, so they’re in no position to draft a new QB. Those two things will limit the selection of coaches that will take the job.

If Baker’s collapse was truly about health, then why wouldn’t you just keep the band together and give it one more go since you’re already on the hook with Baker either way.

The idea of not firing Bowles is about not firing him THIS offseason. I called for him fired last offseason and to hire Coen, but THIS offseason, there isn’t a good option. Baker is coming off a terrible year and if you hire someone new, you’re just going to get another middling coach option, except instead of being stuck with them for one year, like with Bowles, you’re committing to probably 4 or 5 years of hopelessness.

Baker is the stumbling block in everything. He’s good enough to get you 6-8 wins, which ruins your chance of getting a top pick and a new QB, yet he’s so inconsistent no one is going to be their coaching future on him again.

Also for all the whining about the defense, over the last 6 games they gave up 21.1 points per game, or 10th best in the NFL. The reason they Bucs missed the playoffs was 100% on the offense, not the defense. That’s another part of it.

  103. BucsFan81 Says:

If Bowles is not fired we need to put up billboards. Time for the rebuild to begin. Also kick Bruce Arians out also. Guy is getting paid to do nothing

  104. adam from ny Says:

    josh bowles VS todd grizzle

who would win in a fight ?

    🙂

  105. DailyRich Says:

Yeah, I remember Baker out there on 3rd and 28 and 4th and 14 against the Falcons.

  106. Trevor Says:

All this talk of Todd being a good guy, Irrelevant…. I’m sure he is. There are plenty of “Good Humans” who get canned because they aren’t good enough at their job. Being nice doesn’t win football games. This guy has failed at every single NFL head coaching job he’s had. He was gifted the job by Arians, and just like he did in New York, Arizona before that, he failed. This season has been a colossal disaster. When multi-billion dollar companies have colossal failures, someone has to pay the price. Firing the special teams coordinator is not enough. Dave Canales and Liam Cohen off to the playoffs, Bowels back at Freds BBQ

  107. adam from ny Says:

    half man vs half machine

  108. Jarrett Says:

I said it last year, at the end of last season

And fast forward to today and we still at the same conclusion

    Fire Bowles

  109. buccintimeforchanges Says:

I hope the new coach demands we fire Jason Loserville Licht

It is sad the Joes defend him on here. Why do you hate the Bucs, Joes?

Jason Licht FAILED this franchise multiple times going back YEARS AND YEARS.

He hasn’t learned. Brady propped him up for a couple years and he’s back to his loser ways.

Come on Joe’s admit it…Jason Licht isn’t a good GM without Brady he would’ve been fired years ago. Hell, Arians and Jason were 7-9 before the Brady rescue.

    Admit it!

  110. Tye Says:

Bucsa are 2nd place in a division where the highest win total is 8…
ALL 4 teams had losing season once again proven a cesspool division!

  111. Tbbucs3 Says:

If the Bucs move on from Bowles, they need to get somebody with head coaching experience. Mike McCarthy would be an upgrade from what we currently have.

  112. SteveK Says:

    Daily Rich,

Remember Baker either having a late turnover, or good jg four and out in each of the December losses this year, when one win would’ve been enough. He’s gutting it out hurt, but definotely contributed his share of the collapse.

  113. HC Grover Says:

Licht drafts have been AWFUL. Worse than terrible.

  114. eoschwartz Says:

Coen proved that a quality OC can get points and execution out of this offense. I’ve been saying all year this team was built to pass. The Bucs have good receivers and a good line but they thought going with a dunk and dunk offense and overuse of Bucky Irving was the way to go.

If Bowles was a good HC and worked hard with Grizzard to use the Coen formations and play action this offense could of at least put up 21-24 points a game but we could barely get over 20 down the stretch.

Bowles was accountable for the collapse and his comments about “putting teams away” has come back to kick him in the ass.

Get the offensive identity back that Coen took with an offensive coach. Personally I’d get rid of Licht too as he drafted the worst defensive linemen in the league the past 4 seasons of drafting.

  115. adam from ny Says:

i will pin my ears back…

bucs fans are all pinning their ears back…

as we wait for the news

  116. buc4evr Says:

Bowles is history. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was fired at the end of the NO/ATL game. Truth be told Jason should also be fired for terrible draft picks, failure to trade for an edge rusher when the Bucs were losing, and for not promoting Coen to head coach. The Glazers have to be embarrassed.

  117. Td Says:

    Fire Bowles. Fire grizzard

  118. Tbbucs3 Says:

Licht has his flaws but I think you gotta stick with him and clean house on the coaching stuff. Too risky to completely clean house.

  119. DBS Says:

Nobody cares what you think Munchkin. You got proven today you’re not the know it all you think you are.

  120. Bucfan4life Says:

    Shut up Rod

Nobody cares about you. So you’re fine being mediocre all because we used to suck? Pathetic ass mindset from a pathetic person.

  121. Let ‘em bake Says:

Don’t be surprised if Canales gets fired after play off loss…Tepper extremely impatient owner. Canales reunited with baker ? Stranger things have happened.

  122. gotbbucs Says:

To everyone belly aching about Licht not trading for a pass rusher. What in earth makes you think Bowles knew how to use one? Get real. He gave Reddick $14 million and Bowles got 2.5 sacks out of him.

  123. Mike Davidson Says:

    Kenny Says:

“What’s the argument for keeping bowles? I’ve never heard anyone make it.”

Maybe easy call for the Glazers since they extended Bowles, lose their ass with ManU and don’t want to have to pay 2 HC’s.

  124. Elite Vita Says:

Should have offered the HC to Liam Coen last year. Instead Coen is a phenomenal HC in Jacksonville….Get an offensive minded head coach…. The hesitation resulted in a lost year for the Bucs, and its loyal fans!… Disappointed to say the least.

  125. MikeBuc Says:

    @rod
The idea that Baker is a draw is nonsense.

    ——
dude just shut up now. You have such a loooooong history of being wrong and dufus takes like Rbs are not needed in today’s Nfl and Jameis is a stud

and you capped off the nonsense with guaranteeing a saints win today

Just pack your bags and exit with Bowles and this good defense you say Bowles has . You both can go defend Siberia.

  126. Criggz Says:

Proof is all in the pudding — Bowles has to go. Both former OCs in the playoffs, defense at number 28 out of 32 teams despite being labeled a “defensive guru”, refuses to give up playcalling duties to a true DC, still struggles with clock management, TOO CONSERVATIVE, stone-age mentality of “pound the rock and play good defense” is simply not winning football anymore.

Now I am not dumb. I know we are stuck with Todd for at least one more year. But the Glazers NEED to implement hard rules; hire a damn DC, focus on being a HC, and get a competent OC in while shifting Grizz back to 3rd down calls and a positional coach. We cannot continue to allow Bowles to cosplay as a competent HC/DC. He is not that. We aren’t even sure if he’s a competent HC because he’s never truly been that.

  127. D-Rome Says:

Fire Licht first. You don’t want him anywhere near a coaching search. Tear this condemned house down to the studs and start over.

I agree with this. If you’re going to fire Bowles, then wholesale changes probably need to be made. The way this team finished, it’s evident we are more than a different coach. This season was largely a personnel issue.

  128. Sal Volatile Says:

The Glazer family conference call :

I told you we should have fired him.
    No you didn’t.
Why didn’t you say anything ?
I didn’t want any part of it.
    It’s all you fault !
    No it isn’t !
    You are the decision maker.
    No, were a group.
Now what do we do ?
    You figure it out.
    Click

  129. buc4evr Says:

I don’t trust Licht’s judgement any more. He has never been able to draft a decent D lineman, LB, or CB. The Glazers should no longer trust the guy.

  130. Bee Says:

Rod making the same points I’ve been making.

Who wants to quit their job, move their family and risk their career on Baker? What HC wants to do that?

Use your logic Baker Fans. Versus Atlanta if Baker had gotten a first down by throwing an accurate pass to EE, the 3rd and 28 wouldn’t have happened. The Bucs would’ve made the playoffs and Bowles would be back.

Lots of people could lose their job because Baker isn’t good.

  131. Pa Privateer Says:

Keep Licht and dump Bowles. Licht has better drafts than a lot of the other GMs. Coaches and Coordinators are the ones responsible for not putting the players in the best positions to win games.

  132. buccintimeforchanges Says:

@ TBB – Coen demanded Khan fire the Jax GM before talking the job. How’d that turn out? Stop being chickens and embrace the change. Licht is a CAREER LOSER. LOSER. SMDH. Too much change? GTFO

Change is good…embrace the change. FIRE JASON LICHT

  133. Lightningvinny1 Says:

You guys got your wish,, congrats!!
Baker will do just fine with Lafluer, Kubiak, Daibol, Stefanski,,
The D would be a lot better with Florres and hire McDanial or Daibol as OC,,,
    Next year will look different

If Bowles is not fired we need to put up billboards. Time for the rebuild to begin. Also kick Bruce Arians out also. Guy is getting paid to do nothing

I couldn’t agree more. He supported Bowles and the gullible Glazers bought it hook, line and sinker. He has done nothing but harm to this organization since the Super Bowl.

Rod Munch has consistently been wrong on Winston but his take on Coen was pretty strong:

    Rod Munch Says
    January 25th, 2025 at 8:54pm

Baker had, by far, his best year last year – and most of that happened after Coen switched up the offense for that Eagles game, mainly due to Sucke being at tackle. But the end result of going to that quick, short passing game, was that the offense took off. That’s not a knock on Baker, I don’t care how you score points so long as you score them – and the next OC needs to be willing to do what Coen did.

The problem though is that Coen not only made adjustments, but called great games. If you listened to other teams podcasts after we played them, every week they were gushing about the Bucs offense in terms of how good the play calling and how their defenses just seemed completely off balance. Again, not a knock on Baker, but opponents didn’t necessarily rave about Baker – they generally thought he looked good – but they raved about the scheme and how modern and effective the offense looked.

  141. Elite Vita Says:

I’d like to know what Booger MacFarland knew when he said concerning the Bucs “I know things about the locker room….”

  142. Rod Munch Says:

Over the last 6 games of the season, where the Bucs went 2-4 and lost out on the playoffs, here’s the numbers.

The defense gave up 21.1 points per game, which was 10th in the league.

The offense scored 19.6 points per game, which was 27th in the league.

Again, for those dummies talking about how the defense cost the Bucs the playoffs, that is literally fake news.

  143. ChattBucsFan Says:

Clean house and have the new GM negotiate a trade with Wirfs for at least a 1 & 2. Much as I like the guy, one superstar Tackle does not make for a good O-line

  144. adam from ny Says:

bowles spotted at winn dixie 9 minutes ago…aisle 3…still in saints shirt and hat…………like wtf

    🙂

  145. Buccaneers Dave Says:

Our new head coach should be, has to be,
    MIKE LAFLEUR!!!!!

  146. BUCDADDY Says:

Yeah, I guess I’m a “Baker Boy* according to some of the idiots on these threads. He only threw 11 picks this year. I’m pretty sure Herbert, Lawrence, and Darnold have either thrown more, or as much. One of those guys is on a number one seed team. So picks, not really the problem on this team. Those 3 guys play on complete teams with solid defenses. They also each have receivers and backs that make big plays, something we don’t have.

Our defense gave up historically bad numbers to the opposition this year. The receivers, from what could see, don’t know how to get separation and make plays. Just look at the game yesterday. Baker was scrambling everywhere to find open receivers to make plays. He was single-handedly extending plays on his own.

Time to overhaul this terrible defense and get a solid OC and HC.

Oh, and for those that think our receivers are so great. At some point, the receivers have got to think for themselves and break out of these terribly drawn up pass routes and plays and get separation.

So if Baker sucks, our receivers definitely do too.

  147. Rod Munch Says:

Geno711 – Wow, that’s a good find. Man, I am consistent in my takes, when I saw that at first I was thinking, why did you just repost something I wrote… then I saw it said 2025, not 2026.

But yeah, Coen was exceptional, it’s why I wanted him to be the head coach, and why I didn’t think he’d be easy to replace. It’s also why during the offseason I was so critical about all the talk about how Grizz would improve things – I said if he’s smart, he’ll literally just copy and paste what Coen did and he’d be a HC candidate this year. Obviously, that didn’t happen.

Also I’d gladly welcome back Winston next year so the Bucs have a legit backup.

  148. Sal Volatile Says:

Adam, apparently we are the only two with a sense of humor.

  149. BucVoyager Says:

    Steven Says:

It would be fitting to fire todd Bowles tomorrow at 3:28 pm.

    I love this idea

  150. Criggz Says:

Not sure how anyone can put this season on any one player. Yes, Baker is QB and that same old “he touches the ball every play” nonsense still lingers. But coaching matters. Coaching last year had Baker and the Bucs in historically good ranges of numbers. This year? Bad. It is really that simple (on top of the injuries). EVERYBODY regressed this season outside of Tykee Smith lol. Rookies played pretty well. Cancey beasted when healthy. Dean beasted but he’s gone. Basically everyone else was average. Baker was probably the sole reason we were 6-2 at one point. So his season, to me, was pretty average. He is NOT the problem; it is the severe lack of coaching adjustments during games. We start strong because Grizz can make a script pre-game, but neither him nor Bowles know how to adjust while the rest of the league seemingly does.

  151. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

This draft should really focus on defense with maybe a guard and/or tight end thrown in. Definitely need LB, DT and Edge.

  152. JoeyJoeStein Says:

The Buccaneers lost crucial games, at crucial times because the defense gave up huge plays (and that was the case yesterday and has been for YEARS) Wide open field. 70 yard drive in a little over a minute. If it weren’t for the refs yesterday, the Buccaneers lose. This fact is inarguable, so feel free to undo yourself from your rectal-cranial-inversion

  153. Rod Munch Says:

    ———

So what you’re saying is you agree with Bowles, who said the top job of a QB is to not turn the ball over.

I said, and I still say, the top job of the QB is to outscore the other team. I don’t really care about turnovers if you’re scoring points and winning games.

Brady threw a career high number of INTs in 2020, and the Bucs won a SB. Baker lead the NFL in INTs last year while the Bucs averaged nearly 30 points a game. Focusing on limiting turnovers, and not points scored, is how you end up with head coaches like Bowles.

  154. Larrd Says:

I am excited for draft and to see who they bring in as coach. I actually would not mind the Dolphins guy, if he gets fired. Bring Tua as backup and hire Jim Schwartz as DC.

    1. Kayden McDonald
    2. Harold Perkins
    3. LB
    4. CB
    5. CB

  155. Buccaneers Dave Says:

I would take jamis as our back up.

  156. Fanofdabucs Says:

    The Licht haters are laughable.

These bozos clearly werent around in the 80s-90s as Buc fans.

Licht won a superbowl! Oh you say it was Brady? Licht got Brady here! And Gronk. And Evans. AND Godwin. And Brown. And JPP. And Shaq…and yeah you get it.

Licht could have signed and drafted all the defensive superstars and with Bowles scheme, it wouldnt have mattered.

Two reason this team sucked since the Bye:
Todd Bowles and Baker. Baker was either too hurt oe just regressed to what he has always been.

  157. Whatevs Says:

    Fire Jason Licht

  158. Jack Sparrow Says:

Is bowles still employed by the bucs right now ? 🤦🏻‍♂️

  159. Larrd Says:

No “Bucs miss playoffs” story up on team site, yet. Maybe after a heart to heart with Todd.

  160. HC Grover Says:

    Fire him at Noon.

  161. Paratrooper Buc Says:

Baker NEEDS a good OC and Oline to be “good to very good.” I like the guy but he needs more support to win than say Mahomes or Brady. If you put qbs in tiers of 1-6, 7-12, 13-18, 19-24, 25-32 then baker was tier 13-18 in his first year, tier 7-12 in his second year. He is easily in the bottom two tiers this year. He has one year left on his contract and if he plays poorly next year then low ball sign him 2 year deal and draft for a new guy. If he plays good then I’d still draft a qb if a good one is available but pay baker better but at most 3 year deal.

Baker and Bowles together won’t get us there. Baker isn’t going anywhere next year but Bowles could. However, who wants the job that would be good? Coen was never going to be HC unless Bowles retired and he certainly wasn’t going to do that after going 10-7 with an extension to 2028. Coen can coach. Jaguars were 4-13 and in a season with Coen are 13-4. Bears were 5-12 last year and under Ben Johnson they are 11-5 and maybe 12-5 if they win today. Bucs would need a Ben Johnson or Coen like coach to be successful. (Canales isn’t as good as those guys).

If Bowles is kept then as Joe and others have said before he SHOULD bring in a DC and ST coach with Grizzard as a question mark but I think he should go too. Bucs need a change.

IF Bowles stays and makes no changes, then we will see the definition of insanity.

  162. Chris Says:

    @fanofthebucs
Native here Bucs fan since 76.. Licht has had some good picks but also some horrendous bad ones and him aligning with Bowles and not Liam Coen may comeback to haunt him.
Bucs better get rid of Bowles and Jason better be on board with it.

  163. Jack Sparrow Says:

Baker is not elite. Send his sorry a$$ out of tampa.

  164. BucsFan81 Says:

Yea I don’t know if I would be firing Licht. Obviously some of these fans were not around when Mark Dominic was the GM. This team has talent the coaches don’t have a clue how to use it. When you have the DE running 40 yards down the field to cover a running back. Bowles coaches not to lose and coaches like he is scared. That’s never going to work. Need an offensive coach with a good DC that knows how to run a defense.

  165. When is enough enough! Says:

Glazers will keep him. 3.5 is a bargin for them

  167. Jason Anthony Sturgess Says:

  168. lambchop Says:

The comments of firing Jason Licht who architected the greatest FA signing of Tom Brady and bringing a Super Bowl win is insane. What ya’ll smoking? You want Chucky and Mike Mayock instead? LMFAO.

  169. Lessismore Says:

    Here’s my bottom line…..
Every team in the division is getting better.
    We are not.
Our team is stagnant and the mid season slump turned into a 1/2 season of bad football (regardless of the reasons).
It’s just unacceptable if you want a winning franchise.

And also Joes, what really happened during the bye week?

  170. Bucs And Them Says:

Sorry, Mayfield having 1 more year remaining on his current contract will have absolutely no bearing on who would want the head coaching job here. None. The new head coach can work with Mayfield this coming season and/or bring in others, draft his guy or, whatever he deems fit. If he’s content with Mayfield and Mayfield delivers great. If not, get your guy and let Mayfield move on. Pretty simple stuff. Point being, no reason whatsoever to bring Bowles back for another season. He is what he is. A good man and a below average head coach.

  171. Rod Munch Says:

Bucs selling a new coach on Baker Mayfield, after he played so bad down the stretch he got everyone fired…

  177. Whatevs Says:

Licht’s losers are all over this team. If they bring him and Bowles back next year, we are 5-12 going into 2027 with nothing, no talent left on this roster.

Jason is sub .400 without Brady. Garbage GM filling the roster with trash. 2020 was 5 years ago.

  178. Couch Fan Says:

I like Mayfield but lets stop acting like the guy is irreplaceable. Yeah hes a good scrambler but I prefer someone who can consistently make accurate deep passes and has no issues hitting wide open targets. Mayfield is better with a dink and dunk offense.

  179. Marky mark Says:

Fire Bowles. Hire Alex Van Pelt. Stay a way from Stefanski. You can get a good QB mid first these days because they play 5-6’years,because of NIL. Baker can mentor him like that Aiex guy did PaT. The Indiana guy may be gone but the,Miami guy might still be around.

  182. MelvinJunior Says:

@ Upstate NY Buc Fan Says: “Hire McCarthy for a few years for head coach! Flores for assistant head coach, in waiting, will be set! Go Tampa”

Hiring one of the potential head coaches at the bottom of the list (for a “few years”), for at least a ‘partial” rebuild would make absolutely ZERO SENSE at all. And, if YOU owned I don’t know, say a Tesla Dealership… Would YOU HIRE a Head Coach (Brian Flores), who is currently SUING THREE OTHER Dealerships!? Yah, I don’t think so! That would just be ASKING FOR IT when things don’t work out how HE ‘thinks’ they should. Hell, you couldn’t ever FIRE HIM, or he’ll SUE YA for being a r@cist.

  183. BUCDADDY Says:

Rod, how did you get that from what I said? My point is that people bring up interceptions on here like crazy, and by NFL standards, 11 picks isn’t that bad. It didn’t make us lose games like everyone is saying. Baker was tasked with mounting a miracle comeback nearly every game.

That was due to the terrible play calling. Run, run, then put Baker in a 3rd and not-so-manageable situation every time. Most quarterbacks would struggle in these situations, especially when the pass schemes were so terrible.

I actually agree with you on about INTs not always being that big of a deal. Granted, Baker threw some in crucial situations, but he was put in pressure cooker situations every single game due to an over-conservation style of offense. We wasted so many downs this year running draw plays right up the middle. It was soooo predictable.

I always said we should be passing more, especially earlier in the game when we had the lead. But instead, we always played it safe. You have to have an elite defense when you play that conservative. And we definitely don’t have an elite, or even decent defense. They were terrible.

You just don’t like Baker for whatever reason. I’ve said all year, no QB in the league would thrive in this poorly ran offense, and I think you know that, Rod.

  184. buccintimeforchanges Says:

BRADY WAS THE GM – YOU LICHT LOSERS ARE PATHETIC. And BC we sucked in 80s and 90s we have to lower our bar to a career loser whose only accomplishments was letting Brady run everything while he was here????

Brady brought in those guys not Jason Licht. You think they were lining up to play for Jason Licht or Bruce 7-9 the year before Brady Arians?

  195. Obvious Says:

Assuming they meet with him to get his take I’m wondering what he’s going to point to. If he points to the hot start the counter is the collapse and consistent mid season slumps. If he points to injuries you can pull up many other teams including the niners. Discussion the offense isn’t a positive, discussing the def should be avoided if your Todd and he’s already stated they gave up on portions of the special teams.

I guess he can somewhat point to the players but he had a hand in who they bring aboard and decides who plays. Hes already publicly tossed his players under the buss.

I cannot point to one area of the team that is a plus. That’s a big hill to climb in that meeting.

  196. Jason Anthony Sturgess Says:

So it’s confirmed that all you Baker haters are morons cause none of you could name a better player that the Bucs could get to start over Baker. Rodtards!

  197. buccintimeforchanges Says:

So bc Mark Dominik sucked…and believe it or not…Licht has a career losing records overall…why? Because he sucks at drafting and got LUCKY AF with Brady and still has a career losing record.

SO bc Brady picked the Bucs after SF said no…that gives Licht a lifetime job?

    HELLLLLLL NAWWWWWWW

You people embrace the suck…we want to win damnit and Jason Licht is a LOSER

These “get rid of Baker because of 11 INTs” people are just screeching at the sky. The guy’s going nowhere; he’s fully contracted in. And, despite your feelings, there are A LOT of coaches who would LOVE to work with a QB like Baker. He and Coen seemed to do pretty well. He and Canales as well. Baker had some good years in Cleveland too.

“Baker needs a good OC to be successful”….. bro, name me a QB who doesn’t lol. Mahomes has only worked with HOF talent in Kelce and a HOF coach in Andy. Brady is Tom F’in Brady. Who else thrives under a crappy coaching staff???? Please. Enlighten us.

  199. Alvin Scissors Harper Says:

Bucs have had 2 decent GMs – Rich McKay and Jason Licht

  200. Jason Anthony Sturgess Says:

And who is the QB that the Bucs needing so much help at other positions will get at the 15th or so pick.? You are a Rodmunchtard!

  201. Derrick Says:

It’s funny how many” fans “ say there is no talent, Baer has to go etc.. please go away you aren’t true buccaneer fans, all of you were on here talking how how great baker was before the bye… now you turn tail , please go root for another team

  202. Jmarkbuc Says:

Time for the Bud Licht experience to end as well.

  203. buc4evr Says:

Licht should not be let anywhere near the search for a new coach. Hopefully the Glazers see how bad Jason’s draft picks have been on defense.

  204. Simeon4HOF Says:

That was icky rooting for black and gold 2day

  205. Eric Says:

Baker was clearly injured as were many key receivers and O-lineman.

That was the primary cause of the collapse.

  206. buccintimeforchanges Says:

@ Nick H – you still on them pills bro?

  207. Tony1775 Says:

Hey at least we made it to the end of the season before talking about the draft… 🤣

  209. Tom Petty Says:

Bunch of little old ladies 😜

  210. DailyRich Says:

We played worse once we started getting injured players back, so I’m not buying the injury argument.

  211. Erik with Pilot and Driver™ Says:

I’m leaving this site til draft time. I don’t even care about our coaching situation any more. We’ll prob keep the nice guy loser with a terrible defense the past 3 years. Bucs are now irrelevant in the zeitgeist of Tampa Bay culture now for awhile. Peace ✌

  212. WisconsinBucsFan Says:

Quarterback most important position……if yours is not good team sucks…Baker not good….3 other teams said no thanks…there is a reason. Baker too short, holds ball too long and forces passes

  213. JustOneGame Says:

@Joe run a 24 hour pole. See what the fans want on this site, keep Bowles or new coach.

  214. Derrick Says:

@ Wisconsin.. so I’m guessing by your logic… darnold is not good either? How many teams has he been on?

  215. Kenton Smith Says:

Munch, doesn’t it ever get tiring? For whatever reason our team wasn’t good enough to make the playoffs. Injuries played a huge part in our not having the team we were expecting to have. I’m not sure if we replace the head coach or not. I just hope when we kick it off next year we’ll have enough confidence to kick it to em. We can go from there.

  216. BayouBullet Says:

Only 2 articles since the bucs were eliminated. Very odd. Guessing the Joes are huddled up with team brass hammering out a pro Bowles narrative.

  217. RodMunch’sBrother Says:

My brother knows more about football than any of you. He was 100% right that Winston should have stayed and we should have never got Brady. Winston may have SA’d girls, threw 30 int’s and couldn’t see colors but he’s still the best QB in the league like my bro always says!!! Baker is horrible, the D is the best in the league because they only gave up 21 points to the worst qbs in the league! We may have had the best receiver room in the game but Baker wanted to run the ball 30+ times a game for 3 yards a clip and throw to the best TE in the league. You guys need to learn about football like my bro, he should be in the NFL hall of fame with all the knowledge he has!!

  218. LakelandSteve Says:

Lay off Jason Licht. He put the team together that won our last Super Bowl. No one is 100% on draft picks but he has done a good job. Besides a GM is going to draft the players that fit the coaches scheme. At some point the coaches have to develop the players and put them in good situations which hasn’t been happening on the defensive side of the ball.

  219. Bartow Buc Says:

Today was a disappointing ending to a season that should have ended much differently had it not been for key injuries to our star wideouts, running backs, and O Line.
I had a feeling the Saints would lose even though Rod Munch assured me they would win. But that’s okay Rod, the Falcons and the Saints played it out and the best team won. So be it.
Now it’s up to the Glazers to make a critical decision, whether or not to retain Todd Bowles. I think they may bring him back for one more year. But I think our OC needs to go, and if Todd Stays he needs a DC.
But I will say this, if Todd goes down the road I think if John Harbaugh is available and willing, he would be an excellent choice.
I really believe a good offense built around Baker Mayfield’s strengths would be very successful. This team just has so much talent! Whether Todd goes or stays, the Bucs will be successful next year !!
I’ll be watching along with all of you to see what the decision is. As always
    Go Bucs 2026 !!

  220. Stpetematt Says:

Munch I 100% disagree with you. Baker is an excellent qb fully capable of having another year like last year **if he has protection so he can go through his reps**! That means we need really good backup offensive linemen. We draft one and all defensive players otherwise and we will have plenty of success next year- far more than 6,7,8 games. Nonsense. Injuries freaking KILLED this team. We were in cap hell so couldn’t carry a deep roster. Now we can. So we need to be very active in free agency and the draft. We pick too late for a premier edge rusher so maybe take an elite linebacker in the 1st and gamble on edges again in the second and third. Takes extreme luck but it can work out.

  221. BUCDADDY Says:

I think it’s obvious. The NFL has left Bowles in the past. He can’t adjust and find a way to win in the modern NFL. Grizzard should go too if we want to make a run next year. I’m on the fence with Licht. I still kinda like some of the stuff he does, but Bowles and Grizzard must go.

  222. Miller5252 Says:

Big changes coming to Bucs this offseason. If they don’t make em in the offseason there’s a great chance Bowles becomes the first coach to be canned in the middle of the year by the Glazers

  223. Criggz Says:

Football is a very easy sport to get into but a hard one to fully understand. This is why there is such a wide gap in logic (or lack thereof) when it comes to these kinds of conversations.

One side of the fence can point to statistics, historical trends, how defense effects offense and vice-versa, how coaching matters, adjustments matter, correct playcalling and scheming matter, players effect other players on the field, etc etc etc.

Then you have the other side that simply says “well bad stats mean bad player, bad play means bad player, bad bad must go” as they pound their beer on the table and scream chicken wing bits out of their mouths.

It truly is a beautiful thing; any and every one can watch and enjoy. But when it comes to in-depth, emotionless conversation? Good luck, man. The majority of those wanting to talk are just there to screech, cry and lay blame on fellow fans for having the audacity to have a different opinion.

    Such is life. GO BUCS.

  224. Jmarkbuc Says:

    Alvin

You’re half right. Check Lichts record.

  225. buccintimeforchanges Says:

Jason Licht didn’t win the SB…Brady did. Gronk? Brady. AB? Brady. Fournette? Brady.

Licht didn’t draft a single player that scored in the SB. All Brady recruits.

Brady. Jason Licht is living off of someone else’s accomplishments.

You people can’t be this stupid. You think another Brady is gonna appear? No!

Dump Licht. He is a first rate loser.

  226. stucbuc Says:

Worst coaching in the league. Special teams – terrible, Offense – no creativity, they’re playing street ball and defense – can’t stop the run, the pass and sacks, rush and pressure are non existent

  227. Christos Says:

So it turns out the fans that wanted the coach responsible for a top 3 Offense intead of the coach responsible for a bottom 10 Defense were right.
    Ok then.

    Go Bucs i guess

  228. StormyInFl Says:

“So again, I ask, how do the Glazers hire Coen to take the HC job, explain the process…”

The same way they launched Lovie to promote Koetter?

  229. MelvinJunior Says:

It’s absurd to say that firing a coach (not even a good one), is 💯 definitely without a shadow of a doubt, setting you back at least a DECADE. Especially, I THIS DIVISION… And, that is WHY you make a move NOW. You don’t want ATL/NO/CAR to gain a huge leg-up, and News to everyone… They already ARE. So, NOW is the time. You don’t NOT make a move and stick with something (a BAD coach AND GM) that is obviously NOT ‘WORKING’ only because you are SCARED. Total loser-mentality! You roll with Bake next year, and then so be it. He can be competent enough, and he’s a veteran stable presence. He might not end up being the starter, but he’s NOT scaring anyone away! If they just absolutely HATE HIM and just don’t like him… Then, MOVE (or cut) HIM. It’s whatever. It’s just ONE-season. HELL. It’s ONE of ONLY 32 of these jobs in the WORLD. A solid franchise with recent and past Super Bowl SUCESS, and in the 11TH-LARGEST TV-market. In a Division with probably ZERO ‘franchise’ QB’s right now, and NOT a gauntlet of “GREAT” Head Coaches.

You start with ‘rebuilding and reconstructing’ the ROSTER to begin with, and then worry about the QB. There will be solid ‘bridge guys’ that can be sufficient enough, for a great ‘offensive-minded’ GOOD HC. You build the ROSTER FIRST, before you then make your move for your ‘potential’ franchise QB. It guarantees much longer and consistent success and a much better spot for if/when you draft your guy on a ‘rookie’ contract. Until then, it’s just PLUG-N-PLAY. Build the TRENCHES on BOTH sides of the ball, with BIG STRONG FAST MEAN-DAWGS playing at LB.

With that said, it would make ZERO SENSE to fire Bowles and NOT LICKT. You have to cut the head off the end of the SNAKE. Fresh Start. Clean House. NEW ENERGY. You CAN’T have LICKT touching anything to do with this team. NO ONE trusts or has any faith in HIM. Not to reconstruct the roster and not to hire the next head coach. HE has already had 12-YEARS… 93-104. He’s NOT capable or competent enough. CAN’T evaluate TALENT. It is a FLAWED SYSTEM. He hasn’t even the first-clue. We’ve already seen THIS rodeo. It’s TIME to go!!!! I mean, what are you gonna do… FIRE BOWLES and have just more of the SAME next season!? THEN, FIRE LICKT!? When, you’ve ALREADY got your brand new HC going into HIS 2nd-SEASON!? Nooooo. It just doesn’t WORK that way! Your NEW GM is going to want to hire HIS OWN GUY. Talk about a freaking DUMPSTER FIRE… If they don’t fire BOTH, Lickt AND Bowles. It’s the ONLY way!!!!

  230. Aceofaerospace Says:

Pass rusher is criminal. He failed our team.
    ————‐———————–

What pass rushers was worth getting and a what cost?

What would it have mattered when Bowles drops the edge rushers in to coverage far too often?

Maybe Licht knew where this was going and decided to hold on to his draft capital – that’s more probable.

  233. Debbie Says:

Is this the first year of a 10 year streak again? I cannot outlive another one. Just make the right decisions for once. There are only 4 teams in our Division. All 4 have a losing season. This division should not be represented in the playoffs. Wait. Didn’t we lose the division the year we got lucky with the wild card that led to a Superbowl win? I believe we were 8/9 that year too. Just great, now I have regained my hope for next season. Have a wonderful retirement Gene. Truly the best.

  235. Bucks 'n' Bucs Says:

The only good thing about this weekend’s results is that I won’t be checking in until draft time. Joes….thanks for a great season of articles! But I’m really tired of those commenting here that believe their opinion is fact. And those that feel the need to write a book every time to try to make point. I hope next year there will be more fans and fewer haters. Go Bucs!!

  236. TheBigSombreo Says:

  237. Joe in Michigan Says:

There might be some alternate universe where Todd Bowles doesn’t deserve to be fired, but it’s not the one we live in. The only excuse the Glazers could give is if they were too busy to watch any of the Bucs games after their bye week.

    ———————————

I will counter that with simply pointing to the defense in the Super Bowl. AWJr drafted by Licht. Vita drafted (and he was panned for it). Devin White drafted (yes I know what happened after but he was ELITE that season). Gholston drafted. CD3 drafted. SMB drafted. Brought in JPP. Brought in Shaq. Etc. etc.
Not to mention the absolute UNIT of an Offensive Line he’d drafted (Wirfs, Marpet, Cappa) while also bringing in Jensen to solidify the middle. Also I think Godwin and M1k3 were pretty good draft picks by Licht. Maybe. I dunno. Jury’s out?

Lol. Don’t be silly. Dude is the best GM we’ve had in probably 50 seasons.

    ^^^^^^^

They gave Haason Reddick $14 mil for 2.5 sacks, that was generous of them.

  240. Confido75 Says:

Make the call Glazers. Its time for Bowles to go. Don’t just look at the NFCS titles. Bowle’s defenses were bailed out by the offenses of two former OCs that are now having success as HCs. He benefited from these guys and a really bad NFCS. It wasn’t because he some Defensive mastermind, lets be honest. You all let Dungy go for far less, so be objective and make it happen.

  241. Defense Rules Says:

MikeCk … ‘This team has all the talent it needs.’

I wish that were true Mike, but the team’s record this year is 8-9 and like so many have said before, ‘You are what your record says you are’.

Our offense is much better than that IMO, when it’s healthy. It wasn’t very healthy this year, and the result showed on the field. As much as anything, our problem on offense is DEPTH. Look at your backup QB. Look at your backup Guards. Even our TEs are limited one you get past Otton.

The situation’s much worse on defense however. We’ve got several veteran defenders who aren’t exactly earning their wages. Hey, I’ll call them out … all of them. We’ve got 15 defenders left over from the team that finished the 2022 season, and 9 of them are starters. Sorry, but they’re going downhill, and it’s time for some new blood.

And that’s one of the key reasons I want to see a new coaching staff … because it won’t be tied to current players. Let the players’ performances on the field speak for itself. I can tell you right now though, I wouldn’t keep more than a handful of Bucs’ defenders. They’ve shown me what they’re capable of; I’m not impressed.

  242. MelvinJunior Says:

@ Munch Head – Didn’t STOP Sean Payton from taking the Broncos Job… After their FO soooo ‘stupidly’ handed Russell Wilson about $238-MILLION. Hell, you’re only talking JUST 1-YEAR with Baker!!!! I mean, come on…. A DECADE+!? Ya think maybe, you’re being just a tad bit dramatic!? Cohen, Ben Johnson just THIS season. A ‘coaching change’ doesn’t guarantee a single thing. It might take them even until THE NEXT HC then, in another 2-years!? Or, they might just HIT A HOMERUN. I think it’s going to have A LOT MORE to do with ‘WHO’ the next NEW GM is with determining whether or not we can get the ‘RIGHT’ guy and HIT A DINGER. Unless, the Glazers actually have it ‘in em’ to land a top-teir HC… And, I don’t believe THEY do. I KNOW JL doesn’t. Just think about it… HE EXTENDED BOWLES. We need a sharp, strong, slick, high-IQ, modern day, salesman for a GM, who can EVALUATE TALENT and be a CLOSER. Gotta have THAT FIRST, and them the rest will fall inline. Until, we do you can just FORGET-IT. Then, you can start talkin bout the next DECADE+… That is IF we KEEP THEM.

  243. Old Florida is GOAT Says:

Too much talent on a roster to finish like this after a 6-2 start. Being a stalwart to change is inexcusable at this point.

  245. buccintimeforchanges Says:

    .449%

How do you explain keeping a GM with a .449% winning percentage?

How do you explain that? Are you dumb? Are you a loser? For f’s sake…be a winner. Brady isn’t coming back. Jason Licht sucks. SMDH

  246. firethecannons Says:

We are going to start selling paper bags again and selling yuccaneers t-shirts!!

  248. MelvinJunior Says:

@ Defense Rules – our defense is in SUCH badddd shape. MISERABLE. And, we could very easily SEE THIS all last off-season. We have I meannnn, NoooBODY in our FRONT-7. Zero Depth. No eventual potential replacements for LVD or VV. Kancey, undersized and ALWAYS hurt. Pshew, it honestly could’ve BE much worse. Wish we at least would’ve taken BIG Deone Walker, like I SAID. It was one of THE STEALS of the draft, just staring at us right in the FACE. And, here we are right in SEC COUNTRY, too!!!! Inexcusable. Inexcusable PERIOD, just by allowing our defense to get this way!!!!

  249. Longtimebucsfan Says:

Bowles is a nice guy. Hope he enjoys his retirement. He has plenty of money. Should never have been hired. He has to go.

  250. LJ'S Daddy Says:

  251. Mikelikesit Says:

Chucky, Chucky,Chucky!! Bring back the badass and let him run this ship. Said he would only come back for the Bucs job…

  252. mord Says:

I’m kinda thinking that Bowles will retire to save face and prevent the bad vibes of anyone in the locker room that didn’t want him to go (despite whatever we think).

  253. Stpetematt Says:

Still don’t agree DR. Team’s got a ton of talent but has 6-8 gaping holes and needs much better depth which we can now afford because we’re not in salary cap HELL anymore. If we fire Licht, that’s 20 seasons of losses minimum. If we fire Bowles it’s 10. Simple as that. We were working on a transition over the course of a few seasons post-Brady. Lots of changes needed to be made and they aren’t at the finished product yet. Salary cap is why we couldn’t do more this season. More depth next season + a great defensive draft with 1 backup guard and we are ready. David Walker is coming back too and he looked really awesome. We need to replace both LVD and SVD. Also add edges of course. Another DT would be great too.

  254. Bastien from Paris Says:

The Glazers won’t fire Bowles; I can’t see them firing him since he re-signed this summer. I think they’ll keep him but fire the staff. But I really hope I’m wrong. They need a fresh start, and I think even at the GM level, the same shortcomings are evident every year in certain positions. The same situation in January.

  255. MelvinJunior Says:

@ Old Florida is GOAT Says: “Too much talent on a roster to finish like this after a 6-2 start. Being a stalwart to change is inexcusable at this point.”

NOT on DEFENSE. And, that should be a FATAL FLAW for Old JL. It was easy to see and EVERY move he made was just HORRENDOUS. But, I get what you’re saying though, when talking about THIS DIVISION.

  256. Arn Platz Says:

our lone two victories after the bye was against teams with losing records and by a combined total of five points. Fire Bowles and his staff at 2:05 pm to symbolize such a meltdown. What an embarrassment to Buc football.

    ———-

Yeah but Russell was a SB winning QB with a long track record of success at the time. I think a lot of people, including Payton, thought they could fix him. Baker has never had anything close to the same level of success.

BUT, you do make a valid point and the best case scenario.

If you can get someone like Harbaugh or Tomlin – then sure, go ahead and make the move, I’m onboard with that.

NOPE. That’s TOTAL BS. We’re NOT in any kind of “salary cap hell.” Or, at least we WEREN’T. Until JL HANDED Chris Godwin $44-MILLION FULLY GUARANTEED. Just between HIM AND REDDICK this past season, JL ‘shelled-out’ WASTING $35-MILLION+. You might as well had just thrown a MATCH to it, because that was EXACTLY WHAT HE DID. So, all this “salary cap” BS you continue to spew, is JUST THAT… BS. Plus, the cap is getting ready to SKYROCKET with the upcoming CBA (hopefully there’s no lockout), AND in a few years, the TV-DEAL. Everyone KNOWS-IT and it didn’t stop anyone else. Ummmm… Weren’t WE SOLD as being “CONTENDERS,” by Mr. LICKT and others!? You’re just making junk up. $35-MILLION.

Lol, 😂 it’s so bad, I can’t watch braswell and think man, we could’ve traded for a guy or signed one in FA. Was Chase Young a FA? He had 1.5 sacks today. The point is, Licht brought JPP back bc we were toast, when he could’ve made a trade and recouped the compensatory pick if we don’t resign. Come on, brother, you know and I know that Yaya is a fine player, but a #2 rusher.

  266. gotbbucs Says:

If they do end up firing Bowles and Licht stays, that means they likely be hiring a first time head coach or a low level re-tread.
If they would end up firing both Bowles and Licht, that would likely mean that they’re going big game hunting for someone that will want their own hand picked GM, like a John Harbaugh, Mike Tomlin,.or God forbid Bill Belichick.

I really dont see them firing Licht. The one positive about them having to hire new offensive coordinators over the last two years is they’ve probably already had quite a few of the next wave of head coaching candidates in for interviews or had video talks with them recently.

  267. Robert Says:

If you can’t see the Bucs winning a Superbowl with Todd Bowles as coach, then why is he still here? This team was unwatchable down the stretch. His defensive play calling against Carolina on Saturday nearly cost them the game again. His days as a defensive guru has long passed. Get gone or I will NOT watch next year. Been a fan since 1976 too. I am beyond frustrated. If the Glazers don’t want to fire him because of his contract, that is bush league. His measly contract in the grand scheme of a team that is worth billions is a pathetic reason not to fire him . We could get a go fund me page to raise the money to buy him out . The Glazers are worth Billions with a B.

That’s the tier of coach I think we’re going to end up with, and that’s the entire point I’m making. It’s not a love of Bowles, I don’t think he’s very good, it’s about not being stuck with another Bowles for the next 4 years.

Also, there is a very slight possibility that maybe all the injuries were legit, maybe Baker really was injured and that’s why he was so God awful down the stretch. If that’s the case, then why would they change?

If Baker doesn’t lose those 4-games in a row, the Bucs finish the year with 12 wins, and are on a huge roll going into the playoffs. That’s the case for Bowles. ONE more year of Bowles.

But if the Glazers can get a top guy, then sure, make the move – but I don’t think they’re in as good of a position as people think. Baker is not a draw, he is hinderance.

  271. Robert Says:

Todd Bowles makes between 3 and 5 mil a year. His buy out is only 15 mil or less. Chump change of a reason not to fire a coach.

  272. Mhystc Says:

Glazers were bold enough to extend Bowles.. after being mediocre. So they need to be bold enough to buy him out. Admit your mistake and move on from him.

  273. BassCrazy Says:

Didn’t I see somewhere, that Arians is ready to jump ship? This crap before us, has to leave a bad taste in one’s mouth! Arians built the ship, handed it over, and these clowns sank the ship!

  274. AlstottNumber1 Says:

We’re stuck with Bowles. He went ultra conservative for a reason.

The Glazers didn’t want to be embarrassed at home Saturday.

A 3 way tie at 8-9 is good enough for the current ownership group.

The Bucs are just a cash register for them to use towards their Soccer team in Europe.

And we fans are just useful idiots to them. Cannon fodder at best.

  275. Robert Says:

Texas A&M fired Jimbo Fisher with a buyout of 76.8 million. 15 mil for an NFL owner should be nothing. Fire Blowes.

  276. Whatevs Says:

A lot of below average coaches and GMs made a ton of money off of TB12.

Licht and Bowles are among them.

Subtract TB12 = Trash front office and coaching staff.

TB12 is the match that covered the stink.

  278. BucEmUp Says:

Theyre not going to fire him. As much as I wish we would go get Lefluer from the Rams, another team will get him and we will lose the division again next season.

  279. Eric Says:

    Keep Todd, Jason, and Baker.

Reload and get after them next year. This season was lost by key injuries and the wrong time.

Baker is elite when healthy and we have a core of offensive talent. Shore up the D and we’re good to go.

The same clowns ran GRU out of town after a late season collapse. Led to 15 years of no playoffs at all.

  280. Whatevs Says:

No moves at the trade deadline

    Terrible practice squad pickups

    Horrible coaching

Go Bucs. I think every Joe picked the over 9 games won this year. LOL

  284. Canabuc Says:

Worst part is we now finish 2nd and will have chargers, and 49ers and Cowboys next year instead of a chiefs team without Mahomes. A dysfunctional commanders and rams. And a worse draft pick.

  285. BigBucFanJoe Says:

    Has Bowles been fired yet?

  286. Old Sombrero Says:

I don’t think he can survive this short of a decent run in playoffs IF Saints had won but now that the season is over I can’t see how the Glazers can look the other way. Yes, they don’t want to have to fire Bowles but that’s the position he’s put himself in. I suspect it’s an offensive heavy coach who brings a D coordinator if Bowles is dismissed.

  287. Red86 Says:

We need new coaching and draft a quarterback. Multiple games the defense gave Mayfield the opportunity to close out games or extend the lead. Only to go three and out or turnover. Last night should’ve been 27 – 7 going into the 3rd quarter, but we know how that turned out. That short pass to Payne Durham waiting in the end zone is a real head shaker.

I couldn’t help but laugh at the narrative that Baker is hurt, yet he scrambles and takes hit like he’s a running back multiple times. Most injured people would slide or run out of bound. If you’re hurt, then stay on the bench. If you’re inside those out of bound lines, then the excuses stop. It shouldn’t come down to the last game of the season to get into the playoff after playing like a MVP candidate earlier. Clearly not the guy to carry a team on his back. All bark no bite. All talk no actions to back up the talks.

Defense has been sub par. It had many first time starters, however the soft coverage on short yardage still exist. Lack of sacks, miss assignments, and lack of physicality are bad for the defense. Special team has been horrible. Bowles must go.

  288. Stpetematt Says:

We were a team that can compete and we did- even though injuries completely annihilated the team. And there’s not a lot of non-starting starter caliber offensive linemen out there. Or wide receivers. Or edge rushers. Or. Linebackers. Most of the players we use to fix the roster need to come from the draft. A few can come from free agency. Reddick’s salary doesn’t effect the cap next year, and Godwin will be super helpful to the team if we can protect our frigging QUARTERBACK.

  289. MelvinJunior Says:

I’m not even all that concerned with the coach right now. We need a STRONG LEADER to the TOP. Starting with the GM. You get THAT FIRST, then the rest will fall into place. He will eventually get HIS GUY. There has to be fresh new blood in that Bucs FO. Period. They can keep Greenberg, but the fat, lazy, content, already fed has GOT TO GO. Or, it’s just not going to matter about anything else. Unless, they land a ‘top-tier’ level HC/GM who can do BOTH (but he’s not going to have anything to do with JL regardless). But, I don’t believe THIS current FO group is capable of doing that. START with a sharp, strong, slick, high-IQ, modern day, salesman of a GM, who can EVALUATE TALENT and is a CLOSER. Then, we’ll GET our next STUD Roster AND Head Coach. Guaranteed. Our current bunch canNOT get-it done and that is PROVEN. 93-104. 12-YEARS. It’s been long ENOUGH.

  290. MelvinJunior Says:

@ Stpetematt – No. You were talking about THIS YEAR, saying we didn’t have any $$$$. And, you don’t go and DRAFT Godwin’s literal replacement, right AFTER handing HIM $44-MILLION. It’s absurd. Then, telling US and acting like HE was completely fine and looking great! That was a boldface LIE. And, a complete WASTE of money. It’s ALL been nothing but “Smoke & Mirrors.” The entire time, in THIS DIVISION.

  291. Inwoodjeremy Says:

Whatevs – Uno Out! I wonder how many guys are landing in DR soon. I like that Presidente beer with lime over lemon. Has a unique skunky taste.

  292. Outrigger Says:

Thanks to Grizzard, Rashaad is gone. He’s a good complimentary back that was underutilized in this offense. Good blocker, good receiver and hard runner. It’s a shame we didn’t use him right.

  293. Stpetematt Says:

Uhh in the last 12 years we won the Super Bowl. Not a lot of teams can say that.

And Bowles defense was a HUGE reason why.

Unless we can get McVay, I’m against firing him and 100% against firing Licht under any circumstances. People talk like we’ve picked at 1.01 in the draft every single year and inexplicably don’t have great EDGE rushers.

  294. Deeboooo Says:

Just read Bowles has a presser at 3:30pm tomorrow

Maybe he will be fired Tuesday?

  295. BassCrazy Says:

After this finish, it makes you wonder. The NFL is rigged, does somebody have dirt on Baker? Did his slide at critical times, come from being paid? He didn’t really look hurt too bad lately? I question everything, in CLOWN WORLD everything becomes a topic. A lot of things don’t pass the smell test!!!!

  296. Smashsquatch Says:

Bowles is a goner, he’ll be let go soon enough. And there’s no chance he retires either. He has $10M reasons not to.

  297. IrishTony Says:

@Rod Munch get off this site. This team has talent on offense and with a healthy offensive line and decent O Coordinator can put up 30 plus points. We need a young offensive minded head coach, a new, relatively young d coordinator and some significant additions to the edge, middle linebacker position and increased talent/depth at corner position and WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK ON TOP OF THIS HS DIVISION!!!!!!

    Rod Munch,

I’d trade a 3rd for Jalen Phillips on the dolphins, the price he fetched from the eagles.

    ——-

But what does Phillips do in this defense other than stand around in zone?

Also, it’s worth noting, Phillips has 2 sacks in 8 games since he was traded, with no INTs, and mediocre tackle numbers. Not saying he wasn’t worth the cost, but those numbers in Tampa would mean people saying he’s a bust, and a wasted draft pick.

I’m not against the idea by any means, just saying that move would be lambasted right now as a wasted pick since I doubt it would have changed the outcome of any of the games – not the way Bowles uses players.

Also, as noted before, over the last 6 games, the defense gave up 21.1 points per game, which would be 10th in the NFL. The defense was not the issue that people claim it was. The issue was the 20.1 points per game the offense was scoring over that span, which was 27th in the NFL. Personally I’d have traded for a swing offensive lineman at the time more so than anything else.

  299. Stpetematt Says:

Licht has made some mistakes. Egbuka is DEFINITELY NOT one of them. We will be singing his praises for eons soon for drafting him. We protect our QB and score a zillion points next season. Mark my words.

  300. firethecannons Says:

Glazers fault! Last year it was obvious that Liam Coen was special and Bowles defense was mediocre to bad. It was an opportunity to hire Coen as the head coach but they wiffed and now here we are!

The Bucs are just a cash register for them to use towards their Soccer team in Europe.

And we fans are just useful idiots to them. Cannon fodder at best.

This is pure fan-fiction. The Glazers didn’t go conservative to avoid “embarrassment” — Bowles always coaches scared when the margin is thin. That’s a coaching flaw, not an ownership directive. Also, tanking home games hurts ticket sales, merch, and brand value — the opposite of treating the team like a cash register. You can criticize Bowles without turning the Glazers into comic-book villains and the fanbase into “useful idiots.” That’s just lazy nihilism, not analysis.

  306. JustOneGame Says:

What DC or OC would want to come here if Bowles is retained knowing he is starting the year on the hot seat? Hit the reset now, bring fresh blood and perspective. Mediocrity should not be tolerated

  307. Rodmunchsbrother Says:

Leave my brother alone! He’s the only one on here that knows football!! He’s 100% right that we should have kept Winston and never got Brady and we should get him and trask again and get rid of useless Baker!! The D only gave up 21 points per game to the worse QB’s in the league so it makes it all Bakers fault. Baker wanted to hand the ball up the middle 30+ times a day even though he has the best receiver room in the league. All his fault, my brother should be in the hall of fame!!

  308. Mhystc Says:

Sadly we might he keep Bowles. He’s scheduled to speak to the media at 3:30 tomorrow.. our only hope might be that he’s stepping down/retiring.

  309. BassCrazy Says:

WEEBS….ESPN is the CLOWN SHOW that resides in DISNEY WORLD! The MEDIA has caused most of the problems in the world! Critical Thinking works the best. The BUCS are in Critical condition, the ER needs to work harder!

  310. Stpetematt Says:

The season is a war of attrition almost more than anything else at this point. If/when there’s a ton of high quality free agents available I’d hope Licht would jump all over that for depth. Not resigning Skule hurt but he wanted to start. Can’t say I blame him there but it sucks. First we had no money and this past offseason we signed Reddick who had potential to be a big help but really wasn’t. Walker was knocked out for the year. Trades when you’re desperate never work out in the long run for the team. Maybe the free agent pool will be excellent this year…hopefully. But we haven’t drafted high enough to get a monster guaranteed edge rusher in a while. It’s a bit of a crapshoot.

  311. Miller5252 Says:

Sure hope the Glazers have already stated seeing who’s available. Don’t let any of these good coaches get picked up before the Bucs. Need to get on this asap

  312. Stpetematt Says:

There aren’t any good coaches available. If you figure out how to sign McVay let me know….

  315. BassCrazy Says:

I really hope the Glazers read a lot of these comments, the FANS are the ones THEY should BOW down to! Without the FANS who CARE! Get the F%^$K out of here, and quit selling US your GARBAGE!

  316. Sal Volatile Says:

I hope I’m wrong but Bowles may say that he takes responsibility and will hire a DC and make changes to the staff.

  317. BakerFan Says:

Almost 8pm EST…. Bowles has not been fired yet, guess the Glazers are smarter than everyone else in their eyes or they are the dumbest owners in the eyes of Bucs Fans. I pick the latter.

  318. Jerry Says:

They just gave him a contract extension 6 months ago! They were happy with him then. I just dont see them letting him go just because of one 8-game skid after the QB was hurt. Now they may demand changes, such as firing the ST coordinator and several others on the staff who are obviously failing in their jobs. But I don’t think they move on from Bowles at this time.

And will you all stop bringing up Liam Cohen! The Glazers gave hm an offer to be the highest paid OC in football. And he accepted it. THEN he went behind the organization’s back and started entertaining other offers, even to the extent of lying about his kid in the hospital. That’s shady. You would hire someone like that to run your business?

  319. BucsFan81 Says:

You’re going to get Bowles and Licht for another year whether you like it or not. They will force Bowles to fire the special teams coach, the offensive coordinator and hire a defensive coordinator. If that doesn’t work then they can clean house next year when Baker contract is up and Godwins. They will free up a lot more money for a rebuild.

  320. Sal Volatile Says:

We are all focused on th n “missing” the playoffs

Reality is they only had chance because how bad the division is.

The bucs ended up in 10 place out of 16.

    They finished sub 500.

It wasn’t a just miss, it was a total collapse of a team ranked number in most power rankings, with a QB who was in the race for MVP at the bye

It was a talented team for sure but…. Can we talk about the wins we got?

Th wins we got came from Atlanta, Houston, Jets, Seattle, San Francisco, New Orleans, Arizona, Carolina.

Of those teams, Houston, Seattle and San Frisco are the only teams who finished over 500, and made the playoffs. More than half the wins came from other terrible teams.

This wasn’t a we just missed it season. This was a we almost became the best sub 500 team, which will be crushed by the Rams next week.

    As the abuse HC Todd is 35 – 33 (510%) and a a HC he’s 61 – 74 (450)

You are who your record says you are.

Bowles is a great guy I’m sure, but he’s at best a 500 +/- coach. He doesn’t have what it takes to be the guy.

Side note, Liam Cohen in his first year as HC is 13 – 4, a better season than Todd Bowles ever had. And the jags were 4 – 13 last season with basically the same team (their number 1 draft pick missed most of the season)

Ripping off the bandaid sucks, but it’s better in the long run.

  332. Megoat13 Says:

  333. Oregon Buc Says:

  334. Mhystc Says:

  336. BucfaninMi Says:

  337. Oxycondomns Says:

bowles should have been fired during mini bye when bucs still had a chance. evans knew it on the sideline

  338. Jackson Says:

Downside of not making playoffs: Missed the opportunity to extend the playoff streak. Missed opportunity to set the record for consecutive division title wins. Bright side of missing the playoffs: maybe a coaching change to elevate this team out of mediocre status. Not being one and done in the wildcard round again. This team and coaching staff does not match up well with the Rams. So missing out on a 1 game extension of the season and getting embarrassed is not the worst case scenario.

  339. JReel Buc Says:

  343. Jackson Says:

Bowles has his share of bad in game decisions this season and prior, but I thought the most telling was when he and his staff just openly admitted defeat and started kicking all kickoffs in the end zone. I mean talk about throwing your hands up and admitting defeat. Didn’t even have the guts to fire the special teams coordinator. This could be the worst special teams I have ever seen in Tampa.

  344. Bucs Reality Check Says:

    BUCS EAST COAST,

Nice analysis. Here’s where the season record gets even worse…

Our first 4 wins were by a TOTAL difference of 9 points. We could have easily lost those games. We barely beat the Jets by 2 points!

  345. Bucs Reality Check Says:

    3RD AND 28.

    NEVER FORGET.

  346. Hammis Says:

I agree with the kickoff comment. Sitting at the games knowing every opponent drive would start at the 35 is so demoralizing. I do not know of another team that kicks it into the end zone on every kick… They knew they could not afford to have to cover a kick and did nothing about it.

  347. BucsFan81 Says:

  351. Please fire Bowles Says:

I’m old enough to have watched all 50 Bucs seasons. When I was a kid, my dad who was a transplant to the Tampa Area was afraid for my mental health watching them lose year after year. I have to say, of those 50, the Bucs have only had winning seasons in 17! I can remember when a winning season was special. We obviously missed the mark. Of all those seasons this was the most disappointing of them all. The combination of the hype/marketing of season 50, the shear talent of our skill positions, and the white hot start made the collapse a horrific train wreck that lasted 9 weeks! The special teams play is inexcusable. The lack of pass rush, the blown coverages, missed tackles, clock mismanagement all inexcusable. I’m angry. I want Bowles fired, I really do. I hope the Glazers see the coaching mismanagement that has been on full display

  352. Rod Munch Says:

Morris wins 4 in a row, including the then #1 seed in the NFC, to end the season and then gets fired. LOL!

What a dumb owner. Does Blank really think that roster is better than 8-9? It’s not.

At the same time, who knows how much Blank paid for those refs to get those 4 wins, it was a lot, so maybe he’s angry about that.

  361. Chuckys Bucs Says:

I think Cousins winning was the nail in the coffin for Raheem and the GM. They chose Penix over Kirk. Turned out to be a bad decision and cost ownership a lot of $$

  362. Jotto Says:

I don’t agree with pulling the trigger on firing Bowles just yet, but if it happens I can understand the rationale in doing so…extremely disappointing season when you consider how bad of a division the NFC South is. There is too much talent on this team to not be playing in January.

Even more, finishing this year on the outside looking stings a little more with the uncertainty of whether this is the end of the line for Big Mike and LD, whether that be the organization moving on or both guys just calling it a career.

With that all said, those calling for Licht are delusional…he is a top 5 GM in this league and I might even go further to say top 3 potentially. Letting him go would be a VERY. BIG. MISTAKE.

  363. Bee Says:

  373. gotbbucs Says:

Grasping at straws here, but if Bowles is retained, the conditions need to be that they have to hire a new ST coordinator and he’ll have to give up defensive play calling duties, and I could maybe see them trying to get a new offensive coordinator with the hope that that person goes on to be the next head coach. Grizzard isnt it.
I could almost tolerate that thought if I felt that they could get someone in the mold of Coen again, probably flipping over stones on that Rams coaching staff once again.

I think Bowles is a lost cause, but im trying to keep an open mind.

  374. Paratrooper Buc Says:

If the Bucs got an offensive minded HC, he should only accept it if he is allowed to pass on Baker if the 2026 is a bust due to Baker continuing his poor play. Coen made Baker look very good and now he has done the same with Lawrence. So it can be done but if Baker “doesn’t bake” then draft or FA someone else.

  375. MelvinJunior Says:

Most people just don’t understand HOW ‘historically’ BADDDDD THIS NFC SOUTH has really been. Throughout the entire Todd Bowles/Baker Mayfield/Jason Lickt Era. It’s all been just a BUNCH of “Smoke & Mirrors” to the average Bucs Fan. They really don’t know. Once you start digging through the numbers… I mean, NOT EVEN ONE TEAM in the entire division outscored their opponents this season. It’s just SO EMBARRASSING. This has been YEARS NOW!!!! All these fans have been sold a LIE. If there’s not a MAJOR house-cleaning, the Bucs will be losing A LOT of FANS. Especially, in and around the Orlando Metro Area. Just wait. Hell, it’s already happening. They’re all turning to THE JAGS and Cohen. It’s just the way it is. It’s how it works. Especially, after they spend a FULL SEASON (or two) playing at Camping World Stadium, while the JAGS are awaiting their brand new stadium renovations!!!! Things are looking waaaayyyy UP in Jacksonville land. It’s extremely HARD to get those fans BACK, especially those ‘younger’ ones, growing up with a PATHETIC, hard to watch BUCS TEAM, when you got a ROLLIN’ JAGS. Trust-me, I know… I grew up in between the Cincy and Nashville Markets. NooooBODY wanted to watch or gave a DAMN about the Bengals, after a REAL GOOD Titans/Oilers team moved to Nashville!!!’ Everyone became an Air McNair, Eddie George, & Steve Fisher Coached Defense FAN. Real Quick. I’m sure the Glazers are aware of this! Hell, they better be cause it doesn’t TAKE MUCH

  376. Whatevs Says:

If Bowles stays, we need new ownership

    Sell the Team!!!!!!

  377. Lightningvinny1 Says:

Damn,, I hope falcons don’t go after the coaches we want ,,, Lafluer , Kubiak,, Daibol, Stefanski,,,, man, now they are a day ahead of us

  378. Bucfan1988 Says:

We should pick up the Falcons DC , Jeff Ulbricht….

That dude is a solid DC

  379. Winny Testaverde Says:

Raheem goes on a winning streak…takes out the Bucs by beating them and the Rams…and his reward is a good shat-canning. Blank-Check must already have somebody in mind.

  380. BucsFan81 Says:

Raheem out coached Bowles both this season and last season. How does Bowles have a job

  381. Chark Says:

Exactly ^ historically bad mfc south last 4 years

  382. Mhystc Says:

Falcons beating the Bucs to coaching interviews.

  383. Tye Says:

Oh my… If the Falcons get Kubiak, the Bucs are screwed for YEARS to come!

  384. Whatevs Says:

The Bucs are screwed if they keep Licht’s and Bowles

It’s over boys. Pack it in.

    See you in 5 years

  385. Tucker Says:

Another losing record awesome what a monotone team Todd turned this team into. Adios buddy.

  386. Ben the GA Buc Says:

Whether the Falcons are a better job than us depends on what people think about Penix vs. Mayfield. Baker at least has some proven success, jury still out on Penix.

  387. Panhandle Buc Says:

So it appears our 8-9 and epic collapse is acceptable and Atlanta’s 8-9 is not!!

  388. Patrick Says:

I don’t want Raheem back with the Bucs, not even as a DC. Say hello to a losing culture if that happens. Him and Dominik ruined the Bucs back in the day

  389. Panhandle Buc Says:

Time will NOT heal this 50th season collapse, so if the owners think we (fans) will forgive and forget by September…they are DEAD wrong!! If one rabid doesn’t make serous changes, they will feel the pain in ticket sales!!

  390. HeavyE Says:

I hope that Bowels stays now, so that all of you, can go…….& take (I’m hurt) baker with You…….LMAO!!! Let’s Go Bucs! Keep Bowels!!!! LMAO

  391. DailyRich Says:

Falcons finish on a 4-game winning streak and they fire their coach. We’re on a 2-7 skid and we might keep ours. Unreal.

  392. Ed Says:

Arthur Blank already has an HC set up. Glazers better be on the phones tonight. Don’t rely on Licht or Arians, those guys are not who you trying to pull an HC from a functioning organization. Has to come from the top.

  393. SteveK Says:

Damn, hope we get decisive words from ownership soon. Don’t delay it. Just do whatever you’re going to do.

  394. Mhystc Says:

Come on glazers.. don’t let us down. Fire him already.

  395. Bee Says:

No former Bucs coaches. Time for something new

  396. D-Rome Says:

Radio Raheem and their GM deserved to be fired. Penix was a bad pick. Their GM didn’t address the team’s needs and neither has Jason Licht. The Bucs may need to clean house completely. That said, the last time they did that it didn’t work out either.

  397. BucfaninMi Says:

    They need to move now!

  398. Tye Says:

Aurther Blank – an NFL owner that makes moves proving that he care about winning!….
Glazers, you should take NOTES from Blank!!!

  399. Robert Says:

Raheem Morris just became available. Go get him to help with the defense if you are not going to fire Bowles.

  400. Bartow Buc Says:

Fact: The Buccaneers have won two super-bowls. The last one was five years ago. We were in the NFC South at the time.
The Jaguars have not played in a super bowl yet. I’m sure they would like to but the Broncos, Patriots, and Bills may have something to say about it.
Hopefully the Glazers will make the right decision that will help the Bucs win more games and compete for the championship. If they do that, the fans will be there.
I’m trusting them to make the right call.
    Go Bucs 2026 !!

  401. BucsFan81 Says:

The fact that they haven’t fired Bowles yet means to tell me they are considering keeping him. Waiting to see what coaches become available is my guess. I got news for them though Bowles couldn’t coach his way out of a paper bag. The guy is one of the worst coaches in the NFL. You can only get better by getting rid of him for almost anyone else.

  402. Robert Says:

Everyone saying to fire Licht is crazy. He will be snapped up as a GM the minute he is fired.

  403. Gman Says:

Bowles and Licht are probably staying. You dopes will whine and bi*ch….and then send the Glazers thousands of dollars for your season tickets.

  404. Simeon4HOF Says:

Falcons fired Morris lol. And their GM

  405. Ben the GA Buc Says:

I think the firing of Morris assures Bowles is gone. It’s going to look pretty bad if ATL made this decision and the Bucs don’t, considering their respective seasons. Glazers are pretty image-conscious. It is now a race for the division that didn’t really exist before, and everyone is pretty much starting at the same line. If the Bucs DON’T move, they risk years of mediocrity.

I really believe the Glazers will make the right move here.

  406. Told You Says:

Rachaad’s gone…one of the guys who cared.

  407. Mhystc Says:

Everyone saying go get Raheem.. no.. if Bowles stays, he isn’t going to give up calling plays for the defense. He’s said it multiple times in the past. Bucs best bet is to just fire Bowles.

  408. Told You Says:

Raheem’s been a loser everywhere he’s gone. No!

  409. Bartow Buc Says:

Raheem might make a heck of a DC but I imagine there’s too much water under the bridge.

  410. Obvious Says:

Raheem is a complete clown. Did you see him yelling at the cameras after the Thursday night game. Horrible move to hire him in the first place but blank doing the smart thing by getting ahead of the glazers.

    We gotta move now.

  411. Tye Says:

never happen but would be interesting if Falcons hired Matt LeFleur and Bucs hire Mike… Surely they would never sign in same division!

  412. Told You Says:

Tye, can we switch that scenario?

  413. BradyGronkFan Says:

Bucs could have gone to multiple SBs if they made the right decisions. Bowles pulled the carpet on the comeback against Rams. Then Arians got him promoted to HC. He proceeded to ruin Brady’s last season with a losing record, even though it was still a SB caliber team in terms of talent. Licht didn’t help by drafting players that were no help for that current year, plus didn’t provide any help to replace injuries such as to Jenson. Then they got a decent QB in Mayfield and still a strong team as evidence by the top offense with Coen. Then they chose Bowles over Coen and gave gym a 3 year extension. Wtf. You guys could have been the next dynasty.

  414. BradyGronkFan Says:

Brady was in the SB 50% of the time with NE when he played a full season. He only made SB 33% with the Bucs but should have been at least 66%.

  415. adam from ny Says:

there’s a weird silence by the bay right now…

    as everyone just waits

  416. adam from ny Says:

    raheem is gone in atlanta

  417. Told You Says:

Thanks for letting us all know Adam

  418. SteveK Says:

What’s the selling point of not making a change?

  419. Paratrooper Buc Says:

Morris had two years and was 8-9 both seasons. Thats 47% win rate.

    Bowles: 8-9(Brady), 9-8, 10-7, 8-9

    That’s 35-33 for a 51.47% win rate.

The NFC South is sooooo bad.

” Then Arians got him promoted to HC. He proceeded to ruin Brady’s last season with a losing record, even though it was still a SB caliber team in terms of talent.”

That is some revisionist history right there.

🏈 Brady ruined that season. After he got word Arians was retiring (just after he re-signed) he quit trying. He didn’t even attend the OTAs.
🏈 During that same off season, the Superbowl OL fell apart.

Bowles isn’t that good, but he did not ruin Brady’s last year.

  421. SteveK Says:

As in, what can we expect to change if we don’t make a change. Big fat yikes.

  422. SteveK Says:

What improvements does Todd make to the defense? Lol, it gets carved up all
Day against backup QBs. Idk what the hell the glazers are thinking.

  423. James Willie Says:

To Rod Munch: Thank goodness you are not the GM. This season is on Bowles and only Bowles. You want a long rebuild? Good lord. With a good coach the offense is not far off last season and the defense can also be improved with better coaching. Bowles lost the locker room a long time ago. The cap situation is not dire. Would you rather be the Falcons?

As for our GM, you are never as good or as bad as your press clippings. Jason got us Brady and a Super Bowl and managed to get us through the post Brady cap challenge.

We just lived through a golden age of Bucs football. Be grateful. Success is closer than you think.

  424. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Paratrooper Buc Says:
    “Bowles: 8-9(Brady), 9-8, 10-7, 8-9
    That’s 35-33 for a 51.47% win rate.”

Doesn’t that put him one game better than when Gruden was in Tampa? Or about the same?

Might be worth checking…I might not be remembering right.

  425. Bucs Reality Check Says:

    ***BREAKING NEWS***

Todd Bowles signed to a 25-Year extension by the Glazers.

  426. Inwoodjeremy Says:

Obvious – Saw it, looked desperate. Cussing at the camera man to hype himself up.

  427. BucsFan81 Says:

No to Raheem he hasn’t done anything any place he has been including here when he was head coach. If Tomlin gets fired from the Steelers which msu happen if they lose tonight then that might be something to consider.

  428. Steven007 Says:

Told you, that’s simply not true. Raheem has been a successful coordinator on both the Rams and Atlanta when they went to the super bowl. Head coach? Nope. Coordinator? He’s been good.

  429. adam from ny Says:

    @Told You Says:

    ur welcome fuqboi 🙂

  430. Rod stewart Says:

One Cohen walked out the door this franchise was set back a decade. With or without Bowles the future is not bright.

  431. MadMax Says:

    Ouch….Birds canned HC AND GM!!!

  432. Stpetematt Says:

Melvin reading your posts is like reading Trump-speak.

    Ugh.

Don’t fire Bowles and DEFINITELY don’t fire Licht. There, I said it. There just aren’t any coaches available worth much right now. Don’t do it. Let’s have a defensive draft and see how the team looks next year. I bet a lot better.

  433. MadMax Says:

Your turn Glazers….at least with todd.

Do you have the guts? the testicular fortitude to FINALLY end this?

  434. adam from ny Says:

    i can’t see tomlin and rodgers being 2 peas in a pod…

they just seem like they wouldn’t exactly be pals

  435. Paratrooper Buc Says:

    Buccaneer Bonzai,

He was 57-52. So 52.29%. So essentially the same.

  436. MadMax Says:

    Go Ravens!…..

Pitt fires Tomlin afterwards, and then he’s ours….

  437. FireBowlesnow Says:

Lol we dont want Tomlin! No more dinosaurs calling plays! Old outdated defensive coaches afraid to change and adjust for the leauge.

Besides we know the Glaziers will keep Bowles. He is safe for them. Mediocre, will buy the team ice cream after a loss and do SOFT WEAK ASS practices another year.

  438. buccintimeforchanges Says:

    JASON LOSER LICHT 93-104

    .449 losing %

    If you like losing…keep Jason.

    He sucks. We suck. SMDH

  439. adam from ny Says:

bowles late evening spotting at cvs, picking up a few things…aisle 4…

oddly, still wearing his saints t-shirt and saints ball cap

  440. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Some thoughts:

🏈 I think most of us want Bowles gone…so I don’t see any point bickering over that. It’s time.

That said, people are in such a rush to be ‘right’ in their own opinions that they are stretching or ignoring a lot of facts:

🏈 Bowles is NOT the only reason for the losing season, but…he was a big part of it.

🏈 Bowles did not fight to draft defense…knowing that the offense had to come first. This was very unselfish of him, and it worked for a time.

🏈 Jason Licht focused on the offense for years…with great reason…keep in mind he had to start with recreating an offensive line. Then got Mayfield (at the insistance of Bowles). Then got Running backs and WR. All of this he did while fixing the cap issues brought on by the superbowl run.

🏈 Because the offense was a focus, the defense was igored mostly in the draft, at least in the higher rounds. This didn’t change until last draft…and Jason still sent the first round pick on offense. Anyone really blame him? EE is a probably future HoFer. But the point is this…there was no way the defense would have been fixed in one year. Even if the rookies have a good future they need 2-3 years of development first. And another year of draft picks will help.

🏈 Keep in mind how long it took to build the offense. These things take time.

🏈 The lack on defense wasn’t a big issue UNTIL the offense suffered so many injuries…because the offense could not cover the issues with the defense.

🏈 The injuries played a huge role in the losing season…as big a role as Bowles. Fact. No point in denying it.

🏈 Even with OL and WR and RB injuries, the offense was still doing well…until the OL reached 3rd stringers and Baker got injured. And yeas, Baker was injured for most of the second half of the season.

🏈 It’s fair to say Baker throws picks at the worst times…but his picks were reduced this year…and for the first half of the season he was 8 the running for league MVP. Saying he’s a bad QB is wrong. The first half of the season is the proof. Fact.

🏈 People tried to claim the OL got healthy…but it really didn’t. Two starting guards are still on IR. Even the OL guys who returned were not ‘healthy’ and it showed in their play. I don’t think Baker trusted his guys to protect him as he got hit time after time. And, regardless of some people’s claims, he was getting hit a lot. The stats show it.

🏈 On the topic of free agency and trades, the Bucs have not been big spenders in those arwas sine the superbowl team. Year after year, fans demand such moves..lbut the Bucs build through the draft until they are close enough to win a ring. They knew the defense would not be good enough yet, and causing useless cap issues was not the solution. Fans are shown this year after year, but they never seem to accept it.

🏈 And finally, I would like to remind people of the demand to replace Chase over the first few games of the season. You simply do not do a reactionary move like that. You don’t give up on great players like that. Now apply that to multiple good players on this team. Yes, some will retire. Some will need replacing. Sure. Some. But not the best ones. For example… don’t get rid of Vea. Because if we get edge rushers, we will need him. Don’t make new holes!

  441. Tautology Says:

Had they fired Bowles last year and kept Liam Coen, they’d be one of the top seeds in the NFC right now. It’s that simple. This coaching staff is sub-par from top to bottom.

  442. adam from ny Says:

    bonzai:

big vita has gotta stay focused on slimming down a bit…a leaner vita equals a better vea…

he was playing once again too heavy this year…

i think it was last year, he came into camp all svelte and slim, but by the time the season was over he was back to his old size…and has been that way this year too…

love vita, he’s great…i just think he needs to carefully navigate his weight with the aging and florida heat…

i would love to rock a buffet with vita tho…run thru that sh!t…do damage…rock the restaurant to the core…let ’em fell the hit from some bellyrific dudes!

  443. Lefty Says:

StPeteMatt hahahaTrump speak? And you say don’t fire Bowles because there’s just no one worthy out there.. Holy crap – yeah let’s remain status quo with the dog spit Coaching that we have. You’re clearly an idiot liberal leftist parlaying your political stupidity into hometown sports. Congrats on being a 360 degree loser.

  444. adam from ny Says:

    ^^^

yes sadly with coen it seems logical we’d have hit the 11+ win mark

  445. BradyGronkFan Says:

Buccaneer Bonzai, nah not revisionist history. Yeah Brady’s family life was falling apart and yeah his OL was ravaged with injuries. But at age 44, he still had enough greatness in him with help. Licht had a bad year drafting JTS and other developmental players who didn’t help that year. Brady was also at the end of the line and needed a good coach. In fact, this year’s Bucs reminds me of Brady’s last year. Both were 8-9 . Both Mayfield and Brady underperformed due to I juries to OL and bad coaching. Both teams should have had 11 or 12 wins.

  446. Mhystc Says:

    Benjamin Allbright is reporting:

“ I know Arians is lobbying really hard for him to stay.

The narrative on keeping him centers around injuries and instability at OC on the offensive side of the ball being what held them back. “

So, if the glazers are really letting arians get into their heads to keep.. Bowles.. then they need to get rid of Arians also. This buddy buddy thing needs to end.

  447. Stuck with Green Says:

Agree. Getting tired of Arians outside of coaching. He has no coaching tree in the NFL worth noting. Surely the Glazers see this.

  448. BradyGronkFan Says:

Just watched Steeler vs Ravens. What a game. Top tier head coaches. You won’t see the Bucs play with guts like that under Bowles. He’s too chicken.

  449. Stuck with Green Says:

Wish we could “like” comments here but whoever said we’d have 11+ wins if we had fired Bowles and kept Coen last year is totally accurate. Unfortunately, there’s no precedence in the NFL for doing that and the current Glazers aren’t as precedent-setting as Malcolm was.

  450. Buc1987 Says:

    Fire Bowles!

  451. Bucschamp Says:

Bucs need a. New voice. Bowles can only take us to NFL purgatory.

  452. Bucwild Says:

Hire Gruden and be done with it. I’m tired of watching the Bucs get out coached and Gruden doesn’t get out coached much if at all. Dude is chomping at the bit to come back I say we bring him home. Never should have fired him in the first place.

  453. SpriteBrown Says:

Todd needs to go. Time for new blood. What are your guys thoughts on hiring Steve Spagnuolo from Kansas City??? Or possibly bringing back Gruden???

  454. Becky Says:

Rod Munch give the Baker hate a rest. There are over 400 comments on here and nobody agrees with you, ever!!! Again you show how little football knowledge you have. Over 400 commenters on here have enough football knowledge to know that Baker is the least of the BUCS problems. So you actually believe that over 400 people are wrong and you are the only one who is right? Snap out of it! You aren’t.

  455. KennyJr Says:

Everybody is a MONDAY morning COACH ON HERE!!!!!!

  456. Tony Says:

If the Glazers hang onto him then they’re stupid & the same thing will probably keep happening.

  457. Tucker Says:

Todd picked this underperforming staff in the first place so the move is to let him do it again? Lmao ok they have to fire him right?

  458. KnuteR Says:

The Bucs need to a new start with the next season. It is time for captain Bowlo to resign or to be fire. Bucs should hire Klint Kubiak and he did wonder with Sam Donald and the Seahawks. The Seahawks is the NFC number one seed while the Bucs is out of the playoffs. The Bucs players and the Bucs fans can now seat on their couches and watch the playoffs. Bucs probably will not go to playoffs again if Bowlo still the head coach. Bucs owners should listen to the Bucs fans and send Bowlo packing. The time for a change is now or never.
