Is This The Game Where Quinn Ewers Makes Dolphins History?

December 26th, 2025

Miami QB Quinn Ewers.

People who watch a lot of college football know Quinn Ewers isn’t a complete stiff.

While Ewers may not have been Vince Young for the University of Texas, the guy has an arm. Not too many garbage quarterbacks make it to the college football playoffs. Ewers did.

So Ewers has it in him to throw the Dolphins to a win Sunday. It’s not like the Dolphins don’t have a run game or a reliable receiver to help.

Bucs fans should be triggered that a defensive head coach/defensive coordinator allows backup quarterbacks to slice and dice his defense, but that’s how the Bucs roll. This season backup quarterbacks average 317 yards a game against the Bucs.

How? Why? Well, this is exactly what happens when you don’t believe in an edge rush.

Now that Ewers, who replaced Dolphins starter Tua at quarterback when Miami decided to tank the rest of the season as soon as they were eliminated from the playoffs, has his feet wet in the NFL, it would not shock Joe one iota if he had the Bucs on the ropes in the fourth quarter at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday.

  1. Todd Says:

    Quinn for the win.

  2. Gipper Says:

Quinn will look like Dan Marino against Todd Bowles embarrassingly bad defense.

  3. WillieG Says:

“We haven’t seen a Dolphins’ quarterback carve up a defense like this since Dan Marino!!” – Sunday’s color commentator

  4. mj Says:

no way we beat the fins

  5. Bowles portly self Says:

Only 317 yards? How does tubby Bowles still have a job? We will lose and look lifeless, unprepared, and unprofessional doing it. Merry Christmas Carolina, the division is yours. We blow.

  6. Mickman Says:

Not sure how fair weather fans like the people on these comments can ever call themselves a fan….Go root for the cowboys they always play decent, but haven’t done anything in 30 years!

  7. Hodad Says:

Mick, we’re fans, not sheep. Fans don’t follow blindly. This team deserves all the criticism it’s getting. It’s tough love, not hate.

  8. Trey Alderson-Cloutier Says:

Todd Bowles is soft. His defense is soft. His offense is soft. Soft as angel touch toilet paper.

This team ain’t beating the phins.

  9. Bowles portly self Says:

Fans have to follow a team over a cliff? Idiocy Mickman.

  10. BA’s Red Pen Says:

Mickman. It’s not fair weather it’s reality dude. The Bucs defense will make the kid look like a MVP candidate Sunday.

  11. Darin Says:

Put your money on Quinn to win

  12. Bojim Says:

    Probably

  13. Curse of Gruden Says:

I like the sound of that, “Quinn for the win.”

  14. University of Seffner Says:

Here’s what his stats will look like Sunday
    35/51 398 yards 5 touchdowns.
Achane is gonna have at least 100 total yards against us. Our Defense just straight up sucks… #FireBowles #FireLicht

  15. Itzok Says:

Quinn will be made to look like joe Montana. The bucs defense is Swiss cheese. Dolphins will have 150 yards rushing and 350 passing as the embarrass this team

  16. Bucs And Them Says:

In 50 seasons, the Bucs have written around 40 chapters of the ongoing NFL Novel Series: Buccaneers – The Art Of Creative Losing. This season will undoubtedly be another chapter in the book. We Buc fans don’t need anyone telling us how to be Buc fans.

  17. Bobby M. Says:

Mcdaniels will have prepared for quick routes and zone coverage…..no different than every other QB we faced during our last 8 games. It’s a joke to even hope Bowles will scheme anything remotely worthwhile. It’s really about Baker has to out perform the opponent. We do that, we win….the defense under Bowles is completely hopeless.

  18. Cardiac kidz Says:

I’m such a Homer, I do believe that the Bucs will barely win, if I bet on the NFL I would take the Fins and the points.

The unfortunate side of this, it prolongs the Bowles coaching era.

  19. Tony Says:

    Wouldn’t surprise me.

  20. Erik with Pilot and Driver™ Says:

History suggests this will be Quinn Ewers’ breakout game.

The Bucs defense is the usually best cure for any opposing team that is struggling or opposing QB who isn’t performing well.

Hopefully, we win every game the rest of the way and it ends with a miraculous Superbowl victory, but it’s more likely that we lose the next 2 games.

  21. Rob Says:

Against the Bucs D, The Mighty Quinn will put up Marino like #’s.
He!! at 65 Marino could suit up and toss a nickel (500yds) and 6 tuddies against our D.

  22. Jmarkbuc Says:

    If I was a betting man…

  23. Stallworth Says:

The better coach will win this game.

  24. Gipper Says:

Based on the comments to this article it is beyond laughable that Winfield Jr. was appointed to the Pro Bowl. Ewers will begin making a name for himself Sunday. There isn’t a QB in the NFL who fears Todd B.’ defense.

  25. bucs63 Says:

Miami is as likely to screw up and win as our Bucs would with a devastating loss. They have Achane and Waddle who’ll make the plays that Bowels will say were inexcusable.

  26. BucsfaninOregon Says:

Mickman, go back to watching HS football. The Bucs are in the NFL. That’s pro-ball. Players are paid to win. The coaches are paid to win. Fans pay decent money to watch AND COMMENT!

  27. FootBall1 Says:

The Bucs score a ton of points they will win.I think we all agree the Miami Rookie QB will be throwing short quick passes over the middle to their really good running back. We can’t cover the middle of the field or the flat and the league knows it. However, I think this week the offense will come through and score enough points to win. I did not think a few weeks ago we would any of the remaining games. However, if the offense finally plays we win this one. The Car. game well that is another story.
This team is relly short on defensive personnel , which Bowles and Licht simply did not address. I don’t think anyone predicted the collopse of the offense especially early on.
Anyway, you need talent in this league to win, on defense the Bucs simply don’t have it. You can’t get blood out of a turnip. Maybe just maybe Licht and Bowles get that!!!

  28. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Mickman shut up your bung hole. Never seen you up here and hope to never have to see your tripe up here again. We are true Buc fans and will praise the good and rip the bad this team does. Morons like you should stay in lil kiddie blogs not a football blog

  29. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

Gulper scurry back into the shadows. You weren’t missed and never will be Baker fanb(ois). You have no right to post about the Bucs, besides when he has happy feet Baker is scared of Bowles defense

  30. Gipper Says:

    DavidBigBucs,

You disappeared for awhile and most here rejoiced. It isn’t often we get to see syntax and written expression that reminds us why the public education system is failing. Thanks for the reminder.

  31. LakelandSteve Says:

Quinn Ewers 3 touchdowns 400 years and at least a 120 passer rating

  32. LakelandSteve Says:

Or 400 yard which will seem like 400 years for the Bucs faithful

  33. Simeon4HOF Says:

Its a Bowles Defense Bucs Life when Im afraid of this guy 2morrow. Least we dont play at night
