Ice Thinning Under Todd Bowles
December 7th, 2025So the Bucs are 7-6 after starting the season 5-1, and Joe can say now with 100 percent confidence that head coach Todd Bowles will be coaching the team next year if the Bucs finish the regular season strong.
That would mean the Bucs winning 10 games and landing in the playoffs. And it’s an incredibly safe bet that if the Bucs win 10, they’ll win the NFC South. That’s the current math on the division tiebreakers with the Panthers, with whom the Bucs are tied and still have two games against.
But what if the Bucs whimper to close the season and miss the playoffs? What would happen to Bowles? Joe is not sure after today’s groin-stomp loss to the slimy Saints at home.
It was that bad — against a bad team.
If the Bucs were to go from a 5-1 start to finish 9-8 or worse, that would be a historic slide for a head coach already extremely unpopular with fans.
Joe already had watched the Buccaneers 10-part documentary “Raise The Flags” on the team’s 50-year history. It’s an incredible production that releases to the public on Thursday via Amazon Prime. Any fan watching it (and you should) would realize how serious Team Glazer is about winning.
With that in mind, Joe would find it hard to believe Bowles could survive the Bucs missing the playoffs this season.
What exactly would Team Glazer sell fans for the 2026 season. Would the new slogan be, “we collapsed but we’re back for more?”
It’s a crossroads time for Bowles’ job security after a humiliating loss. Simple as that.

December 7th, 2025 at 6:07 pm
He’s not the guy.
Let’s be honest for the love of god.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:08 pm
So…..we won the turnover & sack battle…..only punted once.
Our offense went 0 – 4 or 5 on 4rh downs…
The only player that did his part was Chase…..and perhaps our rookie LT.
Coaching on both sides was miserable…..again!!!
I don’t root for Bowles to lose….but if he loses I root for him to be GONE!!!
December 7th, 2025 at 6:08 pm
Finishing strong would have been destroying the Saints and not getting beat up by the Rams.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:08 pm
They just extended him
December 7th, 2025 at 6:08 pm
It’s simple. When they miss the playoffs after the collapse coming the coach and his staff are gone. No excuses with this talent to not win this division. Even wining the division should not give him a pass, this team looks terrible and every week they always fail to fix anything that’s getting them beat.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:09 pm
im totally confident that i am not confident in bowles
December 7th, 2025 at 6:09 pm
No future for Todd here. Ice or no ice. He should be embarrassed to pick up a check this week.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:09 pm
Bowles was forced onto us. He is a below average coach with an excellent roster. This team has the talent to beat anyone when they are motivated. We just don’t have a motivational coach.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:09 pm
I dont expect the cheap Glazers to fire him cause he is the lowest paid coach. What a waste of talent.
You mean the guys who fired Gruden, Lovie, Schiano and Raheem with years on their contracts? Nobody knows Bowles’ salary in the general public. –Joe
December 7th, 2025 at 6:09 pm
Happy retirement coach. Dang we blew it letting Coen walk. Not one for looking back but dang we blew it. This defense is obsolete. This teams attitude and drive is a reflection of our “leader”. Stale. We’re just going through the motions. Start over. Jason get a dang pass rusher! Pay a free agent! Something anything but drafting a project!
December 7th, 2025 at 6:10 pm
We need Belichick. He’d work really well with Baker too. Get a real OC and get this franchise winning again. Bucs are just too inconsistent and always have been under Bowles. You never know what you’re going to get in the field week to week. That has to come to an end.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:10 pm
He needs to retire
December 7th, 2025 at 6:11 pm
Ice thinning lol the ice is gone
December 7th, 2025 at 6:11 pm
There’s no slogan to sell potential ticket holders except a new coach of they miss the playoffs except big time free agents
December 7th, 2025 at 6:12 pm
Never was the guy. There are a few major holes in the roster but my god man, there are a handful of coaches around the league who do more with way less.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:12 pm
Our roster is not that excellent.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:13 pm
I’m afraid the team is no longer listening. The bulk of the old guard fans lost hope last year and game attendance supports that fact. Jason Licht failed to bolster the roster to make the next step iand so much of this is his fault. The end is always sad.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:13 pm
Winning a bad division and making the playoffs isn’t enough.
He’s a horribly mediocre football coach with a defensive scheme that doesn’t work in today’s NFL.
If the Glazers do want to win, they need to move on. Bowles has shown them what he can do and its unacceptable.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:14 pm
If I’m J Mac, I’m putting that neck brace right back on tonight.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:14 pm
My name isn’t Fred Lombardi, but obviously it’s time for a big fat change. I’ve had quite enough.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:15 pm
Jason Licht shouldn’t be allowed to pick another coach or any more draft picks.
Bye Jason and Todd. C YA!
December 7th, 2025 at 6:15 pm
The Baker and Bowles experiment peaked 2 years ago. Its time to overhaul the roster and start over. Rebuild, not reload.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:15 pm
Yes, what a 50th season to remember. I historic collapse fittinf for the Yucs. Glazers want winning in their history, not the Yucs. But if Bowles doesnt make the playoffs, you can count on him being canned.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:15 pm
Just fire him already.
I am not upset with the loss, because I told my wife I refuse to watch another Bucs game until Bowels is fired. We are wasting talent and money with a coach who has never won anything. I expect more losses until he is fired.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:15 pm
Davenport
He’s also responsible for the Offense AND the Special teams. That’s the job.
Licht is responsible too.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:15 pm
3 years we have been having this conversation
Blah blah blah
Same old same old
It ain’t the talent
It ain’t the injuries
It is the leadership!
December 7th, 2025 at 6:16 pm
Jaguars look great.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:17 pm
Not likely to win any more games. We lost to the Saints. So Panthers who just beat Rams are likely to win twice and Falcons always win with Cousins, Dolphins are dominant these days. So there is that–5 games in a row we lose. Hopefully Glazers give a sht bout that. But Todd Bowles costs minimum money so theres that.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:18 pm
Todd never earned the head coaching job, it was handed to him by Bruce Arians and what did Todd do on his last call as defensive coordinator under Bruce? Allow the Rams to ruin a Brady comeback via blitzing and getting burned by Cooper Kupp which probably cost the Bucs a return to the Super Bowl.. Bowles is not the man. End the farce, fire him.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:18 pm
For Gods sake, Look back to my post from the day they promoted him to head coach…I said fire Bowles yesterday!
December 7th, 2025 at 6:18 pm
We always root for the team to win and that will remain the rest of the season. I hope the team finishes strong.
But the reality is that missing the playoffs would be the best thing, long term for the franchise.
I could see a young promising offensive coach coming here and posting 13 wins his first year. It’s that attractive of an opening.
Gotta pick the right guy tho
December 7th, 2025 at 6:18 pm
What are next years’ coaching options? Unless this team goes to the NFC finals, Im all for moving on. It’s time. Could Tomlin be available? Yes his team has issues specifically with offense but thats because he is allowed to call the shots. If JL is involved, they could make a good OC hire and already have a good qb in the building. I think Tomlin elevates his team, esp defense. Something Bowles cant do.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:19 pm
Bowels always has, and is a loser, bucs will never ever win a Superbowl with him in the lead
December 7th, 2025 at 6:21 pm
Just look at his record, and his predictable mid season slide, happens every year with this dude, can’t wait to say goodbye
December 7th, 2025 at 6:21 pm
Bowlzo,’s defense has always been hit or miss, but the last 2 years he has been bolstered by good OCs. This year there’s no one to bail him out.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:23 pm
Team, like the head coach, shows no fire
December 7th, 2025 at 6:23 pm
I’m okay with him not being coach next year.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:24 pm
“how serious Team Glazer is about winning.”
Not seeing it!
Bowels had the job handed to him by Arians partially do to helping out minority coaches getting top jobs even though His HC resume as HC was already failed!…
Bucs fans had Bowels forced upon them with a large portion KNOWING he was NEVER going to be a top winning HC…
Long stint of bums between Gruden and Arians…. Many smelled of failed experiment from the jump… Raheem, Keotter, Lovie… 2 were still to green and one washed up long before Bucs made him HC…
December 7th, 2025 at 6:29 pm
Why does he always defer the kick off when winning the toss. Worst case you go three & out then punt to pin the other team deep. If you score you are not playing catch up.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:30 pm
Finally, what can I do to help make it thinner?
December 7th, 2025 at 6:31 pm
The 4th down decision the drive before the end was stupid. After getting stuffed twice earlier. Should have punted and pinned them deep.
Poor decision. May be the one that costs him his job.
Disgusting that they can’t get 1 yard.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:31 pm
Can’t watch this rudderless ship any longer. Todd needs to go be a DC somewhere or hang it up. Our defense sucks and that’s his baby. Coen and Canales thriving and we ran out of gas after 6 phuckin gamez.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:33 pm
Bruce Arians is the person that the Glazers can go to for big picture sage advice.
Thing is he has allowed his ego and friendship with Bowles to get in the way.
He surely knew Coen was the better option between the two, Bowels vs. Coen
December 7th, 2025 at 6:34 pm
This is honestly the worst I have ever felt saying I told you so!!
December 7th, 2025 at 6:35 pm
Another point that we seem to have all forgotten is that Arians caused this by intentionally delaying retiring so that it was too late to even think about looking for somebody outside the organization.
Great work, Bruce.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:37 pm
Honestly don’t see any team on the schedule that we can beat. I mean we just lost to the worst team. Carolina, Miami are playing much better …….maybe Atlanta but we are just as bad IMO. What a shame how this season is going down the toilet Bowles.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:42 pm
Thanks for bringing that up!
5 years of Jamyth too !
December 7th, 2025 at 6:45 pm
Fire Todd
December 7th, 2025 at 6:46 pm
Fire him
since bye Bucs have had the worst passing defense in the NFL
335 yards per game, 49 more than any other team
118.4 passer rating, worst in the league
9 TDs against 1 INT, second-most and second-least
72.8% completions
FIRE THE COACH!!!
December 7th, 2025 at 6:46 pm
Also, some racist bs comments on this. Wtf joe?
December 7th, 2025 at 6:50 pm
I can say confidently that after watching the Bucs for 50 seasons I have never felt less emotionally invested in this team. Any argument for keeping Bowles makes no sense. The deference shown towards Bowles is mystifying. My track record of supporting this team is literally second to no one alive or dead for that matter. Been here 50 freakin’ seasons.
Watched the first home game in the history of the franchise as a kid in Tampa Stadium. No one has seen more than me. I’m tired of it. Every season with Bowles seems like whistling past the graveyard just marking time towards a total team meltdown. Hard to imagine it looking much different than it did today. There is no upside with this guy. None. So what is the point in holding on to him. There is none. So no I have no interest in watching a movie of something that I actually have lived. I have also seen enough of the Bowles movie to know how it ends.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:51 pm
Should have seen this coming after last weeks garbage. But for the Cardinals shooting themselves in the foot with the missed Field Goal and interception we lose that game too.
Boles and company need to go.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:54 pm
Todd is a good guy, but he’s let his ego get in the way of being a very good HC when he dual-hatted himself as the DC. Last year & this year especially, Todd really needed to be able to focus more on HC responsibilities than on his DC responsibilities, BUT … our poor defense has surely demanded more & more of his time.
What I saw today was probably the worst Bucs performance I can remember watching. I don’t even know where you start to fix this thing … offense, defense AND special teams. It was an embarrassment. Have a strange feeling that embarrassment will extend to Thursday night against the Falcons.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:55 pm
Just look at this Bears Packers game. Real football.
December 7th, 2025 at 6:56 pm
Durango
Me too
Hooked after walking into the first ever preseason game
Long time ST holder, probably seen 250 games live.
If was on my phone searching the www for dining table chairs for everything but actual plays.
It’s NOT the talent for the listless play ALL YEAR
The game has changed dramatically over the years but the art of coaching has Not!
December 7th, 2025 at 7:02 pm
Should have figured that out in either of the last two years, then maybe we would’ve given this team a chance. The Glazers are a joke.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:04 pm
Nobody is buying what Bowles is selling…..watch social media or StubHub over the next few weeks. Ticket prices are tanking and season ticket holders are practically giving them away. I had a buddy on social media offering free tickets and got no bites to today’s game. This is a crappy team in a really weak division, there’s no entertainment value, especially around Christmas. Why spend hundreds of dollars when you can watch us play poorly for free from home.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:06 pm
It doesn’t look like the Bucs can win 3 more games this season!
December 7th, 2025 at 7:11 pm
At this point Todd Bowles resume speaks for itself. He has been head coach for enough games, if he was ever going to rise above average, he would have already.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:12 pm
Bucs: “Coen we will hire you as HC, you work under Jason”
Jags: “ Well hire you as HC, and then we will hire a GM”
Which would you have picked? We never had a shot a Coen get real
December 7th, 2025 at 7:15 pm
Not sure why it’s hard to see.
Eliot said it in first comment. He is not the guy! Won’t ever win meaningful games with this guy leading the D let alone the whole team.
If Bowles is back, I won’t be.
So glad I didn’t spend any money to come down and watch this squad with Todd at the helm.
Done being fooled by this guy saying he is changing his ways or learning and from having people on this site tell me he’s a good coach without talent. Bull.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:16 pm
lol @ the “what a waste of talent” comment… offensively, yes, but we lost 2 of our best OL and our WR have been all kinds of banged up. It’s not easy to overcome that.
Defensively… we’ve been void of talent for years. We draft guys who play one position and just tell them to play another like this is some type of Madden game where overall just carries over.
Our DB’s need to get sticky in man coverage. We let the best man cover CB (Carlton Davis) we’ve had in ages walk and even he wasn’t perfect (Tyreek Hill for 200+ in 1 half).
We’ve got college DE’s floating around in space because they’re the OLB / edge rushers Jason Licht keeps drafting.
Should have drafted TJ Watt when we had the chance. Instead, we drafted OJ Howard…
December 7th, 2025 at 7:16 pm
Bowles not going anywhere he was Arians pick as well as teddy b
December 7th, 2025 at 7:17 pm
This team has officially regressed and that is 100% on coaching. I gave Bowles credit last year when he got the team turned around, but I always said he was the wrong guy based on what he did with the Jets. The guy is a DC at best and that is really pushing it. I think modern offenses have him figured out now. If we all see it as fans, then you know the other teams definitely do. Time to move on from Bowles and find another HC.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:19 pm
Joe:
You’re saying this is the same people that fired Gruden and Dungy, but it isn’t. Mr. Glazer is no longer with us. His children own the franchise now.
Bucs are way too talented to be in the position. Bowles needs to be fired. Bucs made a huge mistake letting Coen go.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:21 pm
They should have never extended him and I said that in one of Joes articles right when that extension happened. We all know and knew what Bowles is. A mediocre head coach at best. We will see a lot of changes this offseason. Probably a full rebuild with Evans and LVD retiring and Godwin probably being released or traded.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:21 pm
A “defensive minded coach” is how he is often described. Yet a no talent Saints team. a team in salary cap hell, a team with nothing to play for put up 24 points on the Bucs. A team ran by a “Defensive minded coach”. Let’s play the injury excuse. All the injuries this year can be contributed to what? Soft practices? A failure in conditioning? Bad luck? Not buying any of it. We need an offensive minded (Arians type) coach. You know like what we could have had in Canales or Cohen.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:29 pm
It shouldn’t matter if they win out and make the playoffs (which they won’t). He and Licht must go or this will be what fans get until they are. If Arians is in the background meddling, then knock it off old man. Never should’ve listed to him in the first place about Bowles.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:30 pm
Only reason Bowles is still HC is because Coen did so well last year. The year before Coen, Canales helped keep Bowles employed. This season Bowles doesn’t have a good OC to bail him out. Bowles can’t get either side of the ball going, and special teams are the worst. The easiest part of the schedule is about to do Bowles in.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:32 pm
Even after the catastrophic failure tos=day the Joes are still carrying Bowels water.
Unbelievable.
Let’s keep doing the same thing and expect different results.
What water? Joe’s telling you the truth. Expect Bowles back if the Bucs find a way to straighten out somewhat in the last four games. –Joe
December 7th, 2025 at 7:34 pm
This is the most Buc year in 50 years of Buc years. It’s so bad, it’s perfect. Like cosmically, the stars aligned to make sure Capt. Mediocrity was at the helm this year.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:36 pm
Nope, Deeboooo – Bucs never said they would hire Coen as coach. That is totally your speculation. He would have taken the Bucs job over the Jags job, but we have Toad!
December 7th, 2025 at 7:37 pm
Clueless Todd! Dungy Stubborn, Schiano stupid. Duh-yup! Licht needs to fix this sh@t. Fire Clueless Todd!
December 7th, 2025 at 7:42 pm
Jon Gruden
December 7th, 2025 at 7:44 pm
Joe lets please start talking about potential coach replacements.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:44 pm
The team repeatedly blows tackles, doesn’t cover the middle of the field, and can’t coach up edge rushers. He’s had years to fix this. Instead of hiring competent/up and coming assistants on D, he sticks with his friends, unlike the offense where he actually gets quality assistants (OL, coordinators, WR coach) and results occur when the o line is healthy.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:45 pm
Well, I guess if bowlzo wins out or somehow lightning strikes hard enough for this clown to win the division he might retain his position as head giver, I mean coach. (My spellin’ ain’t so swell.) But people in Steel City are already calling for Mike Tomlin’s scalp. I’d rather have Tomlin, but anybody else will do.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:46 pm
He’s too stubborn and too loyal to his coaches.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:49 pm
Rod Munch, you are an idiot and a racist. Why do they allow your garbage on this site?
Joe, please kick Rod Munch off.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:51 pm
It’s been 6 years. It’s not like this is a new issue. The last dominate defensive showing was the Super Bowl. Since then it’s been receivers running wide open, the middle of the field being picked apart, no pass rush, bottom of the league in turnovers, etc. Bowles is supposed to be a Defensive Mastermind but sometimes simplifying things is better than sending your safety on a blitz and having your DE replace him in a deep zone. Some calls I look at and go WTF was he thinking. The excuse we always get is ‘miscommunication’ but it’s the same players year after year, playing the same system. When you take a Tom Brady led team to an 8-9 record, that says enough to me. Only reason Bowles has survived this long is because he has competed in the NFC South.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:52 pm
I feel there is no need to kick a dead horse anymore. His coaching career record speaks for itself. He’s an average coach at best. He may be a good man and a players coach, but he’s not going to coach this team, or any other, to the Super Bowl. We are wasting good talent on the offense. Defense has zero talent from what is being shown and special teams is special talents n another way.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:54 pm
Too bad the bucs let two better coaches leave for hc jobs and kept bowles. Hate to say it…but bowles has won the worst division in football year after year and crapped all over himself in the playoffs. Hes not a good coach. Do I think he deserved a shot? Yes…I do! But his shot is over. Bruce arians was a great coach and when he handed the keys to bowles and leftwhich , Brady took over, ran the club and won the ring. I have 100% confidence in Jason licht , but politics need to be pushed aside. Bowles needs to be gone and as a hard core fan I am looking forward to future seasons and not this year. I sincerely hope Canalas and the Panthers sweep us and force the bucs ownership hand and fire bowles. Only bad part is we no longer have a good coordinator to promote lime we have had the previous two seasons.
Ball is in your court Licht.
December 7th, 2025 at 7:57 pm
Thinning ice? This team has been struggle with bad teams he fell through the ice. Playoffs? Lmao that’s funny
December 7th, 2025 at 8:01 pm
Time to put Arians and Company out to pasture. Arians should be barred from the building. He did this to us. FIRE BRUCE ARIANS!!!!!
December 7th, 2025 at 8:01 pm
Ice?
This isn’t th end of the titantic where she won’t let him on the door, Todd is treading water hoping for the coast guard rescue ships arrive.
What he doesn’t know, is rescue ships or not hyperthermia gets you before the rescue, and you just don’t know it’s too late.
Glaziers fired Dungy for far less, we have a team to win now but maybe not the leadership to get them there.
Its often said a team loses on all three phases of football, today we lost on four: offence, defence, special teams and coaching.
December 7th, 2025 at 8:05 pm
how did arians do this? because he recommended Bowles? He’s gone
December 7th, 2025 at 8:08 pm
A loss this week and Bozo each Nirvana…..500
December 7th, 2025 at 8:08 pm
If he got a D Coordinator it would not change a thing. The fact of the matter is that there are some issues with Bowles. I think he gets too attached to players. He’s got his little crew and he doesn’t hold them accountable. That’s been the case for every season he has been here. That’s why Devin White hung around.. Carlton Davis didn’t last very long in Detroit did he? I could make a list but it hardly matters at this point. I simply cannot explain the collapse of this team in any other way. They make a big deal about the locker room culture. Then how is this happening? How is this team always falling apart at some point or other?
I don’t know anymore and clearly I am just speculating. To be honest I don’t know if I care anymore. At this rate I expect the Falcons and Panthers beat them badly.
December 7th, 2025 at 8:10 pm
Grizz cannot lead nor communicate. He should go first. Really bad play calling.
But who do you put in quickly in his place?
December 7th, 2025 at 8:10 pm
Bowles should need to go “Wayne Fortes” and win out to even entertain the chance of not being fired.
December 7th, 2025 at 8:12 pm
The team is clearly unprepared on both sides of the ball. Defense just simply sucks and the secondary looks like they are playing in high school. All of this looks to me like its Bowles fault. If he doesn’t pull a rabbit out of a hat and win rhe division he should get his walking papers.
December 7th, 2025 at 8:14 pm
Arians is still with the team. They need to flush that whole era down the toilet. Arians, Licht, Todd…all need to go.
Dinosaurs. This isn’t the 2000’s anymore.
Need some younger blood…that we let get out of the building already. Jason Licht is TRASH
December 7th, 2025 at 8:16 pm
I think the Joes and Ira should hold their own confidence poll on Bowles on the next Podcast. Let’s see where the Joe’s and Ira think of Ole Todd. There’s no way anyone in their right mind could think Bowles is a good HC. Let’s be honest Joes!!!
December 7th, 2025 at 8:16 pm
Where is Steve Duemig when you need him!
Ain’t getting that from the CYJ’s
December 7th, 2025 at 8:17 pm
Damn Joe “ Straighten out somewhat”
Talk about a declaration of mediocrity.
What is and has been going on here is putrid. This is not an NFL product. Jason Licht is the lead culprit here. He’s used Arians as a human shield and Arians gifted his student assistant the job. Let’s not forget BA thought left foot was an excellent coach too.
The jig is up. What side of history you coming down on?
What is your reading issue? Joe wrote about what will happen, not what Joe would do. It’s really very clear in this story. –Joe
December 7th, 2025 at 8:22 pm
@ModHairKen
I keep saying that all along about just punt it or kick the FG because that would’ve made a big difference in that game because that would’ve forced Shough & that offense to travel the length of the field instead of giving them the ball at midfield & at the Bucs 40, etc But instead the analytics are telling us how to play the game now instead & it’s destroying the sport. Instead of just doing the simple thing & punting it or kicking the FG all these teams & coaches seem to overthink things too much & this is a perfect example of how it costed them a game & it could very well hurt them in the end
December 7th, 2025 at 8:23 pm
Let’s bring Gruden back!
December 7th, 2025 at 8:24 pm
This is a top down leadership issue.
When leadership fails to demonstrate the high bar of accountability for excellence, and the leaders are unable/unwilling to show passion for the game, we get to follow a flat, underperforming team.
I hope I am wrong, but I am pretty sure that this years version of the Bucs is cooked. Regardless. I am hoping for a catalyst to turn things around.next year, because repeating what does not work is insanity.
December 7th, 2025 at 8:24 pm
“What exactly would Team Glazer sell fans for the 2026 season. Would the new slogan be…”
We got to coach it better. Play it better.
December 7th, 2025 at 8:25 pm
yeah bowles should do something wild on monday morning…
like most “take no sh!t” head coaches do…
a wild move of some sort will wake some azzes up…
however he might be content with his paycheck, and the zombie vibe instilled all the way back to the detroit game…
he could be on cruise control until he retires or is canned – because he’s simply just plexin’… 🙂
our only wins since then were a sad win in new orleans, and an even sadder win last week vs the kyler murray-less cardinals…

@BucThis – you forgot, TJ Rives is still a true believer.
December 7th, 2025 at 8:28 pm
Greg, one thing about getting a new D-coordinator. Who would want to sign on if they know Bowles will e on the hot seat from day 1. It is like when he had to settle for Canales and got lucky but also there is a chance, he could take defensive play calling back at any time. No one will want that job. Thus Bowles has to go.
December 7th, 2025 at 8:28 pm
i do think chucky is quietly waiting in the wings…
the team is almost there, but it needs a gruden like bump to get over the top,,,
but this time it’s more of a defensive fix – so he needs to bring in a serious DC, like a saleh or something…
this defense in in shambles, and sadly i have to say, it starts in the middle
December 7th, 2025 at 8:32 pm
I lost faith today! Toad Bowels sucks! Stands there looking stupid! No adjustments! When your blitz isn’t working, how about stopping that pass over the middle! It was like clockwork!
December 7th, 2025 at 8:36 pm
All you have to do is look at how poorly coached this team is. They can’t tackle on defense, play too far off in the secondary and don’t close in on the receivers entering their zones fast enough. The offense is playing too scared and guys aren’t making enough plays. Mayfield is playing like crap again. The team plays soft and is soft, getting injured all the time. This is all on the coach. If the Glazers want to win playoff games, they need a better coaching staff. They need assistant coaches who can develop players and make them better, not worse. They need a DC that can call a defense that works to the strengths of the players and to the detriment of the opposing team. They need an OC that knows how to attack every blade of grass on the field, not just the first 2 yards from the LOS. In short, they need to move on and get someone else in here.

December 7th, 2025 at 8:41 pm
I don’t know why the Joes never asked this one question can you win a Superbowl with Baker Mayfield and Todd Bowles? I’m done with the excuses the bucs should not resign Baker Mayfield he has a whole year next year and then let him walk. That’s why I’ve been beating the drum draft a quarterback and then build the rest of your team especially the defense.
December 7th, 2025 at 8:43 pm
Gruden is a out dated coach he’s not a good coach at all and I don’t know why y’all think he’s a good coach.
December 7th, 2025 at 8:44 pm
Hell no to Gruden you just saw him with the raiders no thanks
December 7th, 2025 at 8:50 pm
Agree with Bonan. Jags look great! They look like a team who can create some good luck.
December 7th, 2025 at 8:52 pm
Aaaand the Jags will be playing home games in Orlando soon. So… central Florida Buc fans don’t need to deal with this Todd Bowles crap!

Why isn’t the ice thinning for JL? He makes the list and buys the groceries!
December 7th, 2025 at 9:05 pm
time for a change
the wasted Brady final season
now wasting Mayfield
seeing the Rams game at the stadium and just watching what a difference pregame warm ups and pregame organization looked — that is all coaching
preparation and organization lead to execution
a good coach won’t lose 4 out of 5 or go on long losing runs
now we have enough examples to know how this is going to go
I think he’s gone by the end of the year — this team feels hopeless right now
December 7th, 2025 at 9:12 pm
The kick return of the Saints tells the whole story of what is happening with this team. Bowles has lost the locker room, no one cares, no one is trying, the defense is not tackling–Shough broke 3 tackles easily and McCollum dives at his ankles and misses. Mistakes made in one game get carried over every week, no correction. It doesn’t matter what Bowles says, what matters is results–the only thing that matters. We are going to lose the next 4 games unless something changes and that is not likely as this coach has lost the locker room.
December 7th, 2025 at 9:17 pm
Sue Moore good suggestion–love that, yeah I’m on board! Hope it happens as we are on a ship going nowhere with Todd Bowles.
December 7th, 2025 at 9:34 pm
Don’t be shocked guys if we lose to the Falcons,
December 7th, 2025 at 9:36 pm
Toilet bowl Says
“I dont expect the cheap Glazers to fire him..”
Saying that proves you are a fringe fan. The Glazers are not cheap. They’ve proven that.
But they never fire a head doach in the middle of a season. I owuld be surprised if that happened.
December 7th, 2025 at 9:38 pm
IMO, Bowles has peaked as the Bucs HC & his tenure is on the down hill slide.
At best, he’s been a ~.500 season kind of coach.. & with 100% certainty would have been fired by the Glazers already of the other NFC South teams hadn’t stunk the last 3 yrs. If any were peaking during that time, he’d already be long gone. (Backdooring your way to winning the weakest division in football conference titles is nothing to hang banners for!)
As we all can see, his DEF system is well known, predictable and stale. He may be liked by his players, but he sure isn’t getting the best out of them.
There’s really no pass rush to speak of (which I know is a thorn in Joe’s side) & Licht doesn’t seem willing to make the moves needed to fix that from a personnel perspective… IMO, it’s time to for a total reboot. Clean house, the whole house!
Just look up the road at what Liam Coen is doing in JAX…We all hated the way he left, but that guy was a heck of a coach in Tampa & is line for Coach of the Year right now for transforming a 4-13 mess into a 9-4 contender in his 1st year.
It just proves that sometimes what is needed is a new direction with a smart approach. Tampa sure could use a new smart approach moving forward. This stale toast is getting real old.
December 7th, 2025 at 9:38 pm
We already knew this old News yes they should of kept Coen every fan knew what to do but the Glazers had to stay Pat this is the difference between good organizations and Bad ones they set the franchise back years because of it
December 7th, 2025 at 9:41 pm
I’m glad someone else has said it. The game has passed Gruden by as well. Those that keep saying bring him back forgot how bad it was here before he got fired and how bad it was when the Raiders brought him back. No to Tomlin as well if he gets fired. We need an offensive minded young head coach with some passion and a no nonsense defensive coordinator. I think the I am that man mantra is only working for the offensive side n of the ball. You’ve gotta have some attitude and nastiness of the defensive side of the ball.
December 7th, 2025 at 9:48 pm
He’s proven that he’s not the guy and Licht has shown that when Brady is not around he’s definitely not the GM. Time to clean house along with lots of players.
December 7th, 2025 at 9:54 pm
We had Coen and we let him leave because we thought the def did whats it was supposed to do like a lot of ppl here say. And ppl saying rebuild, are you insane????? We have good players, no need to rebuild. You want to draft the America’s qb again???
December 7th, 2025 at 9:55 pm
Sorry to say this but everything is falling into place with my preseason prediction.
“9-8 or 8-9 and the Bucs miss the playoffs.”
Bowles is toast.
December 7th, 2025 at 10:17 pm
TOILET BOWLES NEEDS TO BE FLUSHED
December 7th, 2025 at 10:19 pm
We are not a serious team. We have more talent than most, but it doesn’t matter if we’re not leading from the top down. When’s the last time we opened up a can of whoop ass on an inferior team? Instead, we make them look like future Hall of Famers. If we can fire father Dungee, we can sure as hell fire Bowls.
December 7th, 2025 at 10:20 pm
If the Bucs fired Griden after a 9-3 start and then failing to make the playoffs then Todd Bowles is getting ready to be fired. Keep playing like this Buccaneers. You will be playing for a new coach soon.
December 7th, 2025 at 10:27 pm
The status quo…Isn’t working & every true Bucs fan knows the writing is on the wall!!!
Baker has 1 more manageable contract year left & is not a $50m/yr guy to invest in…Evans and David are both set for retirement after the year & the OL/DL need new pieces. (Don’t get me started on Vea – I’d trade or cut his ass in the off-season & look for someone that can play at 100% more than 50% of snaps he’s on the field for a hell of a lot less than Vea’s contract #).
The Bucs are missing a true #1 WR, a LG, a bruising short yardage RB, ILB / OLB-Edge rooms are both substandard & the DB room is lacking a real shutdown stud as well. (Winfield Jr is not worth his coin either!)
That looks like a fairly large rebuild but not one that is undoable if you have the will to make it happen. But even if everything above was accomplished in 1 offseason, Bucs will not get anywhere close to the promise land with Bowles at the helm.
December 7th, 2025 at 10:28 pm
Considering the ice is getting thinner while Bowels is getting fatter, there’s an inevitability to this equation.
December 7th, 2025 at 10:34 pm
If the steelers are foolish enough to let Tomlin go, I’d be thrilled to have him take Bowles place.
December 7th, 2025 at 10:38 pm
“gp Says:
December 7th, 2025 at 10:34 pm

Hell NO. He’d be Todd pt 2. Bring him in for the stupid Rooney Rule farce.
The next head coach (and all subsequent coaches) have to be offensive playcallers. Find one in the McVay, Shanahan or Sean Payton tree.

December 7th, 2025 at 10:48 pm
Bowles Bucs HC record 27-24….
The Glazers have literally settled for a 50/50 coach.
Its very very sad time to be a Bucs fan.
December 7th, 2025 at 10:54 pm
Is anybody watching the sunday night game? Are you watching how they are tackling? We dont know how to freaking tsckle. Then come back here and say its not Todd Bowles fault.
December 7th, 2025 at 11:00 pm
If this collapse is completed (lose the division, miss the playoffs), then Bowles has to go. Not as punishment, not even as some symbolic “accountability,” but out of practical necessity.
This roster still has a real, short-lived contention window. We’ve seen enough in the early part of this season to know that the core is good enough to compete at a high level. And, much like the Tony Dungy situation, the issue isn’t morality or loyalty.. it’s timing.
The window is open right now, and the question is whether Bowles can lead this group into the realm of an actual Super Bowl threat. If the answer is no, then it becomes the same pragmatic calculation the franchise made before: find someone who can push this core over the top before that window closes.
December 7th, 2025 at 11:04 pm
Btw .. by “right now” I mean this year (injuries not withstanding) and hopefully next year too
“Right now” in the more immediate sense, they are looking pretty unworthy of contending for anything more than draft picks
December 7th, 2025 at 11:18 pm
@Stormy
Tomlin, 189-113 for a .628 winning %
McVay, 89-55 for .618
Shanahan, 79-66 for .554
Payton, 189-116 for .620
Willing to bet that each of them will tell you that while offense scores points, it take a defense to win a championship.
Formulas may change, colors may change, but the primary ingredients remain the same.
December 7th, 2025 at 11:34 pm
What Coach has won his division every year he has been head coach?
What Coach has taken his team to the playoffs every year he has been the head coach?
And you think he will be fired, just because some whiny entitled crybabies are pouting- Even though the team is CURRENTLY TIED FOR FIRST PLACE.
What a collection of hateful clueless pouters.
Awwww, did we not win every game- like you demanded! Lmao.
Health is a huge factor in a team’s success. It’s that simple.
To win titles, you need great players, great coaching, great health, and great luck.
No Team that has started 2 rookies at Wide receiver, half the season or more, has ever been to the playoffs. Ever.
If I have to explain that- I’m wasting my time.
Just keep pouting, and be glad you weren’t fans in the Eighties or Nineties.
No playoffs. Ever. For decades.
December 7th, 2025 at 11:41 pm
JTHV Says:
My Club 212 ticket went from $2800 in 2021 to $4200 in 2026
The Glazers can keep those seats as I’ve been pushed to rather watching all the other games at the sports bar.
300 Bucs game since 1995 and I am officially done going.
See y’all TNF Bowles Fired Game
December 7th, 2025 at 11:46 pm
They really are just a 5-8 team that had things go their way on 4 of those miracle finishes. Go 50-50 on those… 5-8.
December 7th, 2025 at 11:46 pm
Hey Joes you obviously didn’t get the message this is Bowles last year. He’s retiring after this season.
December 7th, 2025 at 11:47 pm
since bowles took over the combined record of ATL, Carolina and NO is 71-121
We are the tallest midget. Bowles sucks and so does Jason Licht and someone get grandpa Arians out of the building. He’s useless.
Time for change.
December 8th, 2025 at 12:04 am
Hopefully tomorrow the Glazers will start looking for a new head coach. Bowles isn’t cutting it after being tossed on the Bucs doorstep when Arians got butt hurt that TB 12 got more credit for the Lombardi. If Bowles is back in 2026 (which i don’t believe he should be) he should be forced to hire a real defensive coordinator or be shown the door. Dont get me started on Chef Licht… 14 seasons of whoa and a 92-101 record. Take the 2020 and 2021 Brady seasons when Brady stocked the shelves and that drops to 68-92. Time for a change of philosophy and a retool for 2026. The lack of fans in the stands the last two Sundays, should tell ownership all they need to know.
December 8th, 2025 at 12:47 am
Todd Bowels must go! Take to X and let the Bucs know they gotta get rid of that stiff DEI hire
December 8th, 2025 at 12:53 am
Thing is Bowles can’t use injury excuse this year
We are only missing Kancey and he is coming back
Todd is past his prime which was SB win
He’s gotta go
December 8th, 2025 at 2:14 am
We tried to adopt the Bucs as our team five years ago. Even looked at Season Tickets four years ago. We don’t even bother watching the highlights anymore. Baker is a gift. Bowles is unwatchable. Our interest tubed when he was given a new contract when anyone could see he is way over his head. If the franchise isn’t serious about competing why would we waste our time, nevermind money? He needs to go – if for or no other reason than to tell the fans they actually want to win. Retaining this guy is a weekly decision to disrespect your dwindling fan base.
December 8th, 2025 at 2:17 am
9-8 or 8-9 its the Bowlezone.
December 8th, 2025 at 2:22 am
Just THIS loss? It’s a lot more than this loss that will cost Bowles his job. The team shouldn’t need to rely on its offense so much to win games the last four years! The defense has been consistently declining since Suh left.
December 8th, 2025 at 4:08 am
The so-called defensive guru? His defense has more holes than Swiss cheese. The pattern is always the same: stops on first and second downs then give up another third down conversion, usually in the air. Our defensive backs can’t cover and can’t tackle. Neither can anyone else for that matter (letting a no- name quarterback rush for two touchdowns). It’s been that way for years yet nothing is ever done about it during the offseason.
The culture in the locker room needs to change along with the head coach.
December 8th, 2025 at 5:24 am
He had his chances. No signature wins this season, coupled with losses to bad teams.
December 8th, 2025 at 6:59 am
Where are the genius’s who were saying Do u really want to go back to the lost decade if we fire Bowles? That didn’t age very well did it? Aqualung, Hodad and many other were right all along. We have a genuine fool for a HC/DC. God help this franchise if he’s not dumped at seasons end, which is coming faster than a speeding locomotive.
December 8th, 2025 at 7:50 am
gruden he still has the fire and actually likes the bucs he can get younger modern assistants and ketting coen walk wrong
