“All 11 Guys Out There Were P!ssed Off”

October 5th, 2025

Bucs safety Antoine Winfield had reason to celebrate.

The Bucs had just tied the game at 35-35 after Baker Mayfield hit his old pal Sterling Shepard with an 11-yard touchdown pass.

There was 1:08 left.

The Bucs defense was ready to take the field. Or were they?

The Bucs defense had been carved up throughout the second half. Seattle quarterback Sam Darnold looked like Payton Manning. The Bucs had no answer for him.

Darnold looked like he was playing flag football. Rarely any pressure. Dudes wide open like the proverbial deer in an Illinois cornfield.

It was sickening.

And maybe no one was more peeved that Bucs icon Lavonte David.

“All 11 guys out there were p!ssed off because we were in that situation,” David said. “We shot ourselves in the foot the whole game.

“We weren’t making plays. We weren’t playing our caliber of defense. They were capitalizing on what we did.”

David and Antoine Winfield got on the defense: Now was the time to close the door and win the game. Now was the time to get a turnover, somehow, someway. The team needed every man on the field to do his job.

“It was a moment to rise,” David said. “Somebody had to rise. Everybody had that attitude.

“That’s what I love about this football team. It is a resilient group. It wasn’t over until the game was over. Today was a day I made a play.”

Winfield, who David said hurried Darnold that affect his throw, told the defense they had a simple task.

“Somehow, someway,” Winfield said. “I said, ‘Hey, it’s the two-minute [defense]. We run this everyday. So let’s make a play. Let’s make it happen.’

And [David’s pick] is what happened.

Joe told Winfield that David is convinced Winfield affected Darnold’s throw. Winfield waved away the praise.

“I was doing my job,” Winfield said. “I was just wanting to win the game any way I can contribute.”

And because Winfield and David made a play at a critical time in the game, the Bucs, ravaged by injuries, are 4-1 and stole a win.

As a result, it is the Seahawks who are now sleepless in Seattle. The Bucs will rest well this evening over getting the job done.

    Ha! Suck it Mr. Cooter.

  2. ElioT Says:

Yaya and Hussein look like a couple of p*****s .

    ZERO THREAT.

    So disappointing.

  3. Aqualung Says:

I had to be at a wedding. This is sweet news.

  4. Bucsfan Says:

A little divine intervention as Darnolds’ throw actually hit a Buc helmet changing the direction toward Lavonte.

  5. mistermarty Says:

Did the math. I think that game was the highest percent of completions by both teams in NFL history. 57/67 is 85%, google AI says highest was 82 and Mayfield had one throw away and one drop. Second best regular season win in Bucs history. Got give the first one to win over Rams on MNF. Crazy good.

    We won! Sheeeesh. Enjoy it.

    Need a hug?

  7. ‘74 Bucs Fan Says:

Looking at the replay, I think 54 gets that pick even without the tip. Receiver stopped on the route.

    Huge play, huge win!

  8. Gipper Says:

Unfortunately we saw the same old Bucs defense. The one that Kirk Cousins liked so much. I told you so. Licht did not do enough to fix this mess. Everyone get used to it. Shocking that Todd Bowles was given an extension. He is a good man with a horrible DC.

  9. ChattBucsFan Says:

Put Hall’s helmet in the Ring of Honor. Ironic that the only play he made he had no idea.

  10. Jeebs the Honey Bear Says:

We were definitely missing Dean and Morrison today. Whatever Bowles was calling to compensate was not working at all. A big part of the issue is the front four who cannot generate any kind of consistent pressure, and when they do they can’t finish. Diaby and Reddick need to get it going!

  11. Josh Says:

Make the call tomorrow. Offer a 2nd to get Hendrickson today — no waiting, no games. But start with a 3rd. If they hesitate, go to the 2nd only if it’s done on the call. Make it clear: walk away now, and the ceiling drops. We’re not chasing.

  12. Half_Sac Says:

Whatevs JoeBucsFan is not a family forum. Have you never read or listened to Lee whenever Kay Adams gets mentioned? And they do look like a bunch of pussies out there. Defense has to do better

  13. Jmarkbuc Says:

Any word on CG 14? He looked gimpy at the end.

  14. BucsfaninOregon Says:

This win was pure, unadulterated, BS of a win!

The ball accidentally hit Hall’s helmet and caused an EZ catch by David on one of his worse game.
    1. After seeing how the handled kickoffs, the ST coach needs to take the bus out of Seattle to Alaska for a year.
    2. David should study the tape and decide that this may be his last year.
    3. Licht needs to hire somebody to help him draft or trade for a pass rusher. Darnold stood like a statute and was seldom even PRESSURED. And if Bowles plays him in pass defense- -fire Bowles.
    4. Start dusting off a spot for Baker’s spot on the Buc HOF poster.
    5. An old expression of mine in cases like this: This team is was lucky as a sh!thouse rat !

  15. ‘74 Bucs Fan Says:

4-1! Let’s get healthy and go on a longer run!

Today was a bad day for both defenses. Our D isn’t horrible and shut Philly down in the 2nd half last week. I was hoping to see Simmons on the D line instead of 90 and 96 due to his huge mass and strength. Seattle’s O line was dominating, but so was ours I suppose.

  16. Coburn Says:

What disturbed me on defense was getting overpowered. They had succeeded running right at us and pushing our guys right back. No idea what happened. The final pick I was totally looking for another stupid late flag like the previous one.

Special teams almost lost us the game again. Seattle always seemed to start at mid field. At some point better off just blasting it out of the end zone. Was always like the last guy making the tackle

  17. Gbobucsfan Says:

    Go get Hendrickson !!!!

  18. bucs63 Says:

Logan Hall’s head deserves a little credit

  19. ‘74 Bucs Fan Says:

How about the decision to not go for 2? I was ok with it simply because I was too nervous at the potential loss.

  20. Winny Testaverde Says:

    Josh:

Came here to say the same exact thing. Trade/“rent” for Hendrickson. Cincy is out of it and they clearly don’t plan on signing him next season. The Bucs desperately need him.

  21. SlyPirate Says:

I love this win … so much great on offense …

BUT … The DL and OLB (minus VV) aren’t good. Should have gotten Trey.

Our DBs are saving this defense.

JOE, PLEASE PLEASE STOP with YAYA HAS POTENTIAL. Potential expired.

  22. Addb Says:

So is Dean that good that we miss him this much?

  23. Woodman Says:

Who would want you at their Wedding Ironlung.

  24. 813bucboi Says:

    Gripper, aqualung, mr cooter lol…..

Bowles has you eating crow yet again!!!!

    4-1

    GO BUCS

  25. SenileSenior Says:

Ya, but …. If only Jason would …. Coach Bowles is a ….

Then again we won. 4-1 is not a bad start considering our schedule.

  26. NaplesBucsFan Says:

Love how “fans” whine about pulling out a shootout against a very good team…which is what good teams do…putting up 38pts and 400+ yards of offense and still whining about the damn win?!?!?!
Damn, enjoy it and watch as this team begins stacking wins, that’s what good teams do. Anybody watch the Chiefs the last few years, they ain’t lighting up the score boards or winning in flashy style, but they’ve been to the SB over and over. Let’s watch this team evolve and hopefully become a true contender.
If I remember, the TB SB team went through some big ups and downs, so far only one down and it was a gritty comeback loss to boot.

  27. Tbbucsfan Says:

Now I am no football genius, but like others have been frustrated with our pass rush. I watched that nice video of Simeon Rice showing Yaya a little of his arsenal. Why does it seem that every time I watch Yaya on a pass he is bull rushing straight into the tackle. Does he ever utilize any moves/body fakes/etc.

  28. FrontFour Says:

Parrish got picked on all day. McCollum is average at best. Our CB’s haven’t scared anyone since Davis and Dean were young and healthy.

  29. Jmarkbuc Says:

Not impressed with McCollum today. Can never locate the ball, and that play where he just stood there and waited for Cooper Kupp to block him was ridiculous.

Payne Durham does a lot of standing and watching too…

  30. Ben Says:

All 11 guys on offense maybe. The defense took the 2nd half off.

  31. Ben Says:

NaplesBucsFan all good points. But what happens when you habe a team that can score at will and a defense that shuts teams down? That’s a championship team. We all.want nice things!!! That is all.

  32. 813bucboi Says:

This was a one off for the defense

    Totally confident we’ll improve

    4-1

    GO BUCS

  33. Ben Says:

JL needs to stop thinking they have a starting caliber edge player next season. Diaby is a rotational guy at best. Reddick isn’t the same player he was in the past. Next year, upgrade at Edge, like legit this time, and find Dennis’ replacement. He missed a ton of plays today. Great W to pull through. Thanks Baker and Co for saving Bowles’ defense again.

  34. Ugotrobbed Says:

Great win for us! This team is so beat up, and they still come together and find a to win! That’s the sign of a great team! Get healthy and make it a legendary season! Proud of this team! Go Bucs!

  35. Jeff Says:

Does Logan Hall get a 1/4 interception on that play?

  36. gp Says:

When I saw the headline I thought the story was about the interception by Winfield that was called back on a bogus “contact” penalty.
We Barely got past the refs this game.

  37. Nano107 Says:

    Yaya is terrible

  38. mj Says:

theory: bowles waited to the very end of the game to blitz, winfield caused the int by hitting darnold as he threw the ball. as bad as they sometimes play this team had play makers at every position

  39. Woodman Says:

Yea Nano according to Ironlung his problem is he tries to hard. Idiot

  40. ‘74 Bucs Fan Says:

Today we beat a good team on the road on the west coast in our creamsicle unis – take that all day long.

Big room for improvement but 4-1, come on man!

  41. It's Corn Says:

I still think it’s dumb to consistently be dropping d-line into pass coverage. Let them focus on rushing the passer.

  42. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Seahawks might end up winning the NFC west, that’s a good team and even if they don’t I can see them being a wildcard team. Way to bounce back after a tough loss at home, and now we can look forward to San Fran who we owe a proper ssa kicking.

Need the defense to bounce back, as the season goes on this game is more likely an outlier in how good they can end up being long-term.

  43. Marky mark Says:

Defense got robbed if an int by refs

  44. SmokyMountainBucsFan Says:

Our D does need help, Stevie Wonder could see that, not just on the edge. If you’re going all in this year, go for the gusto, get a LB,CB and a consistent punter while you’re at it. She it, couple OLinemen as well

  45. Buddha Says:

The Seattle Seahawks get paid too. We lost our best defensive lineman for the season and three guys were playing different positions today. This was a great win. Hats off to Seahawks and their fans.

  46. El hefe Says:

Don’t talk about the defense till we get an actual edge rusher HR is not getting it done

  47. Defense Rules Says:

It’s Corn … ‘I still think it’s dumb to consistently be dropping d-line into pass coverage. Let them focus on rushing the passer.’

I wish for the same thing, but not sure it’d make any difference. I saw a number of plays yesterday when our defense SHOULD have sacked Darnold, but didn’t. They kept missing opportunity after opportunity, because of terrible tackling.

And on a lot of Seattle’s better runs, they were blocking our DLine AND LBs very effectively. Focused on SVD on a number of plays & just kept shaking my head; he was far too easily blocked out of the play when he was the critical guy who needed to be in position to make the tackle. Totally frustrating.

How a defense can play so great in the 2nd half against the SB champs a week ago, then so great against a 3-1 Seattle team in yesterday’s 1st half, but THEN turn in a 2nd half performance like they did is far beyond me. Darnold wasn’t hitting tight windows; his receivers were wide open & overall he had plenty of time to go through his progressions. ALL of our Secondary had a really BAD 2nd half. They essentially gave us FIVE TDs in a 30-minute span (if you include the last minute of the 1st half).
