Skip Peete Apparently Out Of Immediate Danger
October 1st, 2025
Bucs RB coach Skip Peete.
Maybe it’s a good thing the Bucs only had a walk-through inside the Glazer Shed this morning. It isn’t just players the Bucs must be careful with.
Bucs running backs coach Skip Peete had what the team described as a “medical episode” at practice today. After initial assistance from Bucs trainers and medical staff, Peete was taken to a nearby medical facility for tests.
It seems as if Peete will be OK. Bucs coach Todd Bowles suggested as much.
“Right now, he’s coherent,” Bowles said. “He’s doing fine. [They are] still running tests. Preliminarily, [he was] dehydrated.”
Bowles added Peete’s issue at practice was, “Very scary.”
“Yeah, it’s definitely scary,” Baker Mayfield said. “Luckily, he was alert after [the incident] and kind of making some jokes, so that’s good.
“But, in the moment, it’s much bigger than the game of football. When you come into work every day with your teammates and coaching staff, everybody in the building, when something like that happens to somebody close to you, it puts things in perspective.”
Obviously, Joe hopes Peete is fine with a little rest and loads of water. Peete is a really, really good dude.
When a Bucs player has a special press conference, during the season or during the offseason, like signing a new contract, Peete is almost always there lending support, even for a player he doesn’t coach.

The Cooter family is very glad to hear this news, Mrs Cooter was so upset she went to the kitchen to bake some fresh brownies to take to him at the hospital

I wish him well, but man all these big fat dudes really should consider eating a healthier diet and exercising. They are in a high-risk category for a heart attack or stroke at any moment.
I’m unfortunately never surprised any time a big fat guy has a heart attack or stroke.
Luckily, this seems to be just dehydration related

Wishing the best to Skip. Dehydration can throw you down quickly. Especially in this heat. Glad they are doing a lot of other testing too.

Probably watched the tape of our special teams

… you mean Unexceptional Teams, right
Special ain’t it.
Subpar blocking.
The opposite of special is common, ordinary or basic. If our punting game was one of those things, it would be better than what we got.

Wish him well.
Thanks Joe for adding the last paragraph. It helps to know them better. Good stuff.

Joe do you have any news on Michael Jordan? He did a good job at guard the first 2 games. Is he out for the season. We could sure use him at right guard. The guy in there now is awful.

Only heard he has a knee issues. Since he’s a practice squad player, team is not obligated to offer up injury-related info on him. That’s why there is little known.

I suppose that someone will say this is Bowles fault.

Bucs Medical extends their incompetence into the coaching ranks. Way to go. If they’re gonna incapacitate someone why not Magoo.
