Eagles 31, Bucs 25

September 28th, 2025

What a game! More blood pressure spikes across the Tampa Bay area.

If the Bucs’ special teams wasn’t so damn leaky, the Bucs probably would have knocked off the world champs.

The Bucs defense lost Jamel Dean, Haason Reddick and Greg Gaines in the second half and still clamped down on the Eagles to help mount a big-time comeback.

It wasn’t enough.

Baker Mayfield channeled Jameis Winston with a brutal red zone interception in the fourth quarter. Mayfield’s run of heroic comebacks crashed hard.

Terrible officiating sure didn’t help the Bucs. Apparently, this officiating crew thinks jersey pulls of Emeka Egbuka and Chris Godwin are legal. Disgusting.

The Bucs got a historic day from kicker Chase McLaughlin and big plays from Bucky Irving and Egbuka. And Joe loved the rise of rookie cornerback Benjamin Morrison.

Vita Vea was a warrior with two sacks and tough play against the run. But despite beating the Eagles 17-7 in the second half, the hole the Bucs dug was too damn deep.

Can someone please wake up SirVocea Dennis and get him to play conisistent, mentally-aware football?

Joe was so damn encouraged by the returns of Tristan Wirfs and Chris Godwin. Yeah, Godwin was expectedly rusty, but Wirfs was a mauler.

As painful as this loss was, Joe is a little buoyed by the Bucs’ fight and resiliency against an Eagles team that has now won 18 of 19 games.

THE BUCS OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR IS 100% TRASH

    I CALLED IT LAST WEEK!!!!!

  3. HC Grover Says:

Good excuses. What will Bowles come up With?

  4. Tbbucs3 Says:

Keep Dean on the bench….defense drastically improved when Morrison got on the field.

  5. #99 the big fella Says:

Aqualung will be here any minute now

  6. Todd Says:

I’m just happy that Godwin looked “back”. Not “back” like 100% back, but he certainly looks like he’ll get there.

    We’ll be fine.

  7. TheBucsAnthem Says:

Baker was the only reason the Bucs had a chance….not Josh Grizzard

  8. Chris Says:

We will be back…. We get healthy and we will be back

  9. Whatevs Says:

    Fire Bowles.

    Out coached

    Out schemed

Was not prepared in all phases of the game

Will not get past the first round of the playoffs with DUM DUM at HC

  10. Deez Says:

Here come the Bowles haters lmao

  11. Colonel Angus Says:

Rejoice doom and gloomers, ya’ll got your loss you wanted.

  12. Farmer Says:

Crazy that Eagles DB’s can grab hold of undershirts every single play and never get it called.

  13. BuccoDav Says:

It is amazing how many posters in this forum take the time to make multiple accounts just so they can spew the same BS post after post. very disappointing

  14. orlbucfan Says:

What was the breakdown in game penalties between the teams today?

  15. unbelievable Says:

    Bad special teams
    Bad playcalling
    Too many drops
Too many holding / PI calls not called

It is what it is. Let’s see what happens when we’re healthy

  16. LVMYBUCS Says:

They keep saying Bucs are good because they keep winning the division when the division sucks for the last few years come people wake up Bowles and this coaching staff is wasting years of good talent.

  17. Capt.Tim Says:

    Best team won.
But we are still pretty dang good.
But special teams and defense need work.

    Our Kicker was EPIC today

  18. ModHairKen Says:

No. Not going to talk about moral victories.

    Irving blew it.

    Baker blew it.

    The Special Teams blew it.

The pass rush in the first half blew it.

    They lost.

  19. Todd Says:

Coaching staff is fine. Except for Special Ed Teams.

  20. sunny Says:

baker is no jameis. the ball was tipped.. godwin was open and that would have been a td. he’s had one turnover in 4 games.

  21. ElioT Says:

    Bucs got their A***s kicked.

    Eagles are way better.

But why does Sirianni need some fat-f**k who can’t run a mile as his “security”?

    G*y!

  22. heyjude Says:

    Excellent overview, Joe.

  23. Gman Says:

Not happy to see Bowles laughing and joking with Siriani immediately after the game. I realize these guys are humans but at least pretend to be pissed off like the fans are.

  24. Hunter Says:

Morrison with a hamstring as well at the end

  25. eoschwartz Says:

I disagree that the one play with punt blocked lost game. The way the Bucs came out in the first half was where the game was loat. Less than a 100 yards of offense. Giving up 21 points to a better team and not being ready to play loat the game. Even though the Bucs made it close they turned it over and gave up a huge sack. They were outclassed by Philadelphia, the more physical team.

  26. 941bucsfan Says:

Sunny it wouldnt of mattered it was illegal man downfield

  28. LVMYBUCS Says:

Fire Bowles and bring back chucky to finish the season lol lol

  29. BucU Says:

    The brittle Buccaneers strike again.

  30. Mikeymoo419 Says:

We are literally fine. We shot ourselves in the foot. We will beat them come post season. Good game. Defense looked really good as usual once we make adjustments. Morrison looks super solid. We have alot to look forward too. Stop crying weirdos.

  31. ocala Says:

Special Teams coach needs to be fired. Four straight games of being awful.

  32. Erik with Pilot and Driver™ Says:

The Eagles D is the dirtiest fn team I’ve ever seen.

They were interfering on basically every pass.

At least 15 PI’s that should’ve been called but weren’t.

Ref’s were paid off by the gambling mob in this one.

    Absolutely atrocious officiating.

  33. Larrd Says:

Something must be done about the blocked kicks.

  34. Cybersecurity_intern Says:

Thank god Dean git injured. And really hope next year we get an actual coach. Bowles is garbage

  35. Les Says:

NEVER CAN STAY HEATHY .FIRE the punting coach ,find a new punter . That block and baker interception lost the game . Throw the damn ball away baker.

  36. Hearty Dikerson Says:

Lol, all these ‘we’re fine’ and ‘it’s early, we’ll get healthy’ comments…We lose 2-4 players every week. By the time one guy gets healthy, 3 others go down.

Today it was Dean, Morrison, Reddick, Gaines.

What makes you think ithr injuries are just going to suddenly stop?

  37. Ringer Says:

We made our mistakes but I’ve had it with refs allowing the mugging by their db’s.

  38. UGotRobbed Says:

Geez, the injuries just keep piling up! Hopefully these latest ones aren’t serious!

  39. Davenport Says:

The talent on this team doesn’t deserve the mediocre level of coaching that they are getting.

4 straight games with an opponent touchdown on their first possession.

2 straight games with a blocked kick returned for a touchdown.

Both scream that this is a POORLY PREPARED football team and its been that way for years.

  40. Bucsalltheway Says:

I seen a lot of good to have a short shelf…we need attention to detail with punt blocking we can’t lead the league with blocked punts and field goals

  41. Tye Says:

The Bucs were NEVER going to match up well with Eagles coaching…

    Bucs got outcoached handedly….
Good on the Bucs to not get blowen out but a lose is a lose…
Struggling to win against 3 losing teams does not equate to playing to beat the BIG BOYS!

  42. Colddecked Says:

yes losing to the eagles sucks but we don’t have to fear this team. it could help us if we end up getting to the playoffs and see them, much like washington did to us last year.

  43. BayouBullet Says:

“Terrible officiating sure didn’t help the Bucs”

The bucs got 6 1st downs via penalty… How many teams lose a game getting 6 1st downs via penalty

  44. LUVMYBUCS Says:

Sure, there’s some work that needs to be done, but we have a solid foundation to build on.

    Go Bucs!

  45. DBS Says:

Loss doesn’t hurt. Falcons only beat Washington because they’re down their QB. Panthers and Saints lost.

  46. Falconrap Says:

Those refs let way too much grabbing and holding go against our receivers. The 3rd and 2 when they tried to run with Egbuka, was a play that the rookie needs to see on film. You had Wirfs right there. Get behind him and you can get those 2 yards, but he tried to run past and in front. So that will be a learning moment. That pick from Mayfield was just a back breaker. We didn’t need to make the play right then and there. Throw it out and live for another play. That blocked punt for a TD killed us. At least we made a game of it late. Their defense was on the field nearly the entire second half.

  47. Bartow Buc Says:

We played them like champions!! Turnovers Killed us !! Hopefully this loss isn’t contagious!!

    Go Bucs !!

  48. Drunk Bucs Fan Says:

Not going to be an Eagles fan and whine about who we didn’t have today. Losing sucks, you get off the ground and grind to win next week.

  49. BucsOnDeck24 Says:

Is there a reason we still field a kicking team?!? Just go for the damn thing, even if you give up terrible field position, it’s better than the alternative (a TOUCHDOWN!!)

  50. Ben the GA Buc Says:

Morrison should start over Dean for good. He’s gonna be a lockdown CB.

  51. Buc king Says:

    Special teams were trash.
    Clock management was absolute garbage.
Running the ball when you’re down by 8, banking on a two-point conversion? Awful game plan.

This was Baker’s worst game in a long time — he looked horrible in the first half, throwing dead ducks that gave the opponent’s offense the fuel to jump out early.

It all starts with the coaches.
And the refs? They let more pass interference slide today than I’ve ever seen — at least three missed calls on Godwin alone.

  52. Bucfan1988 Says:

By far, the most atrocious officiating I’ve seen to help the Eagles…….

Quinyon Mitchell is a human defensive pass interference machine for the Eagles….
    I counted a MINIMUM OF 6 jersey/undershirt pulls and 2 undershirt rips on Godwin & Ebuka….

    Didn’t get called for DPI/Holding even 1 freaken time…..

This garbage PLUS the fumble on Bucky that wasn’t was an absolute JOKE…..

I DESPISE momentum changes due to BS one-sided calls & non-calls….

  53. TDS Says:

I am not discouraged by this game. They made the adjustments I fully expected on defense, and played lights out in the second half. The offense showed real grit to get back into it. ST really needs to start showing up for games. Except for Mac, who kicked his name into the record books. Twice.
I’m disgusted by the “sky is falling” fans, though.

  54. Timbucs2 Says:

Considering the two turnovers and punt block were at least a 17-point swing for the Eagles, I feel pretty good about the way that the Bucs defense in particular played. They’ve got to stop giving up those game opening touchdown drives, but otherwise… I’m actually encouraged.

  55. Josh Says:

The Eagles seem to get away with penalties on nearly every play. It reminds me of the Seahawks back when they were dominant with Richard Sherman—if you commit a penalty on every snap, the referees simply can’t call all of them without disrupting the flow of the game. As a result, the Eagles appear to false start or hold on nearly every play, but because it happens so frequently, each infraction blends in, and the refs hesitate to throw a flag. They’re left asking themselves, *”Is this one really worse than the ones I let slide earlier?”*

If or when the NFL starts officiating games more consistently and fairly, I think the Eagles’ advantage will disappear. Right now, it’s reminiscent of when the officials seemed to favor the Chiefs or the Rams during their Super Bowl runs—or, as much as I hate to admit it, the year Brady and the Bucs got every call their way (I say this with a bit of humor—because we definitely benefitted that year!).

  56. Les Says:

NEVER CAN STAY HEATHY .FIRE the punting coach ,find a new punter . That block and baker interception lost the game . Throw the damn ball away baker. Damn bowels always plays to far off recievers . Eagles are on there man. If we don’t take the division or lose in the first round FIRE BOWLES !

  57. Buc_My_life Says:

Please Joes, stop defending this brain dead coach. Absolutely no sense of urgency, ever. Played for the tie AGAIN. How many times do we have to see the same damn errors bite us in the ass before you two will figure it out? Bowles is not a head coach. He does understand time management and he’s too conservative when it matter. We have 8 years of demonstrable evidence. He has the same issues in year 8 that he had in year 1. Are you thinking he figures it out if we just give him another 5 years? Pathetic excuse for a head coach. And he should have been screaming at the refs when the clock kept running on Balers scramble in the 4th when he clearly went out of bounds. Stop carrying water for the below average coach.

  58. Dom Says:

Whats with all these fire Bowles calls? The defense shut down the eagles in the second half. 14 points I wouldn’t even put on the defense with the blocked punt and Buckys fumble in their own territory. Special teams is a real issue with a blocked punt, blocked kick, and blocked punt 3 weeks in a row. The Baker INT was a killer and really disappointing in what was a phenomenal game and season so far by Baker. Got to throw it away and live to play another down. Loved the way this team competed. Offense is going to be dangerous when healthy. Some of yall are so dramatic lol

  59. Rick in Ocala Says:

I’m still fuming in Ocala. Fox 35 in Orlando carried the damn Atlanta-Washington game, depriving us from seeing our Bucs. This is inexcusable.

  60. Sapp 2 Fundamentally Sound Says:

    Yeah
Bucs should send in our WRs jerseys to the NFL for obvious evidence proof of defensive holding/interference

Our defense is definitely better than last year and trending up ⬆️

When we get our offensive starters back healthy & playing together BUCS will be scary good

    Now about the Special Teams??

  61. Whatevs Says:

    Can’t blame the officials.

    Don’t give Todd 500 Bowles a pass.

    He blew it.

  62. BucsFan81 Says:

Going to be interesting to see how this team bounces back next week. Seattle has a decent defense.

  63. Ben the GA Buc Says:

Tye you are smoking Crack if you think the Eagles outcoached the Bucs overall. The Eagles have more talent on D and came close to losing despite so many obvious PIs not getting called.

  64. Jeff and Jack's grandpa Says:

That interception would of been a td to CG14 if not tipped so it’s not even close to the groper

  65. Bucs Reality Check Says:

That Baker INT was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. He throws off his back foot and there are two Eagles defenders there.

He was playing like it was a 4th down, it wasn’t.

    Baker blew it for sure.

  66. DBS Says:

Special Teams coach should be fired by morning. This has to be the worst I have ever seen.

  67. Ben the GA Buc Says:

About the Baker pick … he was going for Godwin in the back of the end zone and it got tipped. Go back and look at it. Godwin was wide open, defense just made a good play.

  68. Doughboy Says:

If the NFL allows the Eagles backfield to grab, hold and maul everyone and call it on other teams I can see why they make it to the Superbowl. Now for all that want to fire and sit coaches and players you disgust me, sorry. Cause we’re still 1st in division and a long ways to go. I think for all the starting players out with injury we came right back in the game, put us in position to win after spotting them 14 points in turnovers Amen.

  69. Whatevs Says:

    Our OC is trash, too

  70. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    LVMYBUCS

Even pirates had more honor than to steal another man’s flag. Sail away and find your own identity, mate ⚓

  71. LongSeason Says:

Going to give the team credit for clawing back and making a game of it.
    Game Balls:
    Emeka Egbuka
    Bucky Irving
    Baker Mayfield (despite the INT)
    Benjamin Morrison
    Jacob Parrish
    Chris Godwin
    Tristan Wirfs
**Note** This was almost like a preseason game for Tristan and Chris. **End Note**

  72. eoschwartz Says:

Jet sweep is a weak call. You have one yard just run White he can fall for a yard. I can never understand when teams get cutesy on a short yardage situation and try to go horizontal with a long developing play. If we still have Liam Coan as OC we wouldn’t have 100 yards of total offense and 6 points. Formations look too tight and not enough vertical passing in first half. Way too conservative, looked very shaky on offense in first half and Baker should have never thrown that ball to Godwin. If the play isn’t there throw it away. Lots of drops by the Bucs early in game. We’re not playing with poise or sharpness on offense.

  73. StormyInFl Says:

If there isn’t a parade of punters coming in the door tomorrow, that’s criminal. Riley Dixon SUCKS. His sundial slow punting motion cost this team points- again – and this time it was the difference.

His brutal shank on his next punt cost more points, setting up Philly with good field position.

A punter who costs his team points and can’t flip the field is worthless.

  74. IrishTony Says:

Yeah we should have won. Plenty of red zone opportunities. Baker was is bit off on that second to last drive when he threw the pick. He needed to reign it in a bit.

  75. MikeBuc Says:

Oh no. we lost the game by one score that no one picked us to win. We are 3 and 1 – The sky is falling and the kiddies actually think anyone is going to listen to them to can the coach because of it.

  76. Les Says:

WHAT REALLY PISSES ME OFF IS BOWLES WONT COMPLAIN TO THE LEAGUE ABOUT ALL THE INTERFEARANCE JERSEY PULLS THAT EAGLES DID . GIZ WAS TO CONSERVATIVE IN THE FIRST HALF .AWFUL PLAY CALLING . BUCKY UP THE MIDDLE , BUCKY TO TO THE SIDE . COME ON MAN ,ROLL BAKER OUT TO HIT RECIEVERS DOWN THE FIELD .

  77. Whatevs Says:

Todd is a bottom 5 head coach. If he was fired today, he would never coach again. Not a single team would hire him to coach anything.

That is all you need to know about that charity case.

  78. orlbucfan Says:

The referees helped Philly? Go look at the Philly OLine in the first half. No holding calls. Grizzard, injuries and refs lost this game. 3-1.

  79. Hodad Says:

Joe, someone please wake up Sir Dennis. He’s a 5th round pick who’s been injured most of his short career, what did you expect? He needed to be replaced after the first game. To many mistakes all around to beat the champs.

  80. LANshark Says:

Our WR’s need to be wearing tear-away jerseys from now on.

But consider this: We hang tough with ‘the best team in football’ while down the entire right side of our offense, our #1 WR, and a few others. And with astoundingly STUPID special teams coaching. We’re not that far off being a dominant team…

  81. Les Says:

    GET A DAMN PUNTER !

  82. Timbucs2 Says:

How are you shlubs saying that Bowles “went for the tie” or that this is on him? The Eagles D was smothering in the first half, and Bowles isn’t out there blocking on special teams. His D allowed 17 points before the Bucky fumble (yes it was a fumble).

If Baker doesn’t throw that pick and we get at least a field goal, we are driving for the W at the end. Eagles are a damn good team, and we are gonna be okay. Take a deep breath.

  83. sunny Says:

this fanbase is annoying. 3-1, and down to the wire against the team that won the superbowl last season even with all of our injuries. no one has beaten the eagles since the last time we beat them in game 4 a year ago.

we’re leading the division and all we have to do is make it to the playoffs and all teams are pretty much even again.

  84. Steve Jackson Says:

I agree with this guy and ST coach fired tonight take away his pass to return to building in the morning.

    Quick Reactions:
    1. Vea is a stud.
    2. These boys never give up.
    3. Godwin is rusty.
    4. McLaughlin is redeemed.
    5. Bucs need a new ST coach.

  85. Bucs or something Says:

Gotta be the whiniest fan base I’ve ever seen

  86. Godlovesbucs Says:

For as bad as tampa played, it was a 1 possession game at the end. Eagles are not unbeatable.

  87. Doughboy Says:

I’d also like to see better special teams people on line to block kicks cause that’s what other teams are doing to us.

  88. SBucs Says:

As always Todd didn’t have the Bucs prepared.

Why didn’t Todd on the Bucs sideline point out the Eagles grabbing the receiver shirts all game? The eagles managed to do that all game. The Eagles have more talent team wise, are better coached and have a champions attitude. They allowed the Bucs to feel good about themselves in the second half because they were up 24-6 at halftime.

  89. What it is Says:

If not for the tip 31-31

  90. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Defense kept getting the offense the ball back, and outside of 2 broken plays for scores the offense couldn’t do sh*t with it.

    Grizz still has training wheels.

Don’t give a damn about how much heart Baker has, you don’t play hero ball on 1st down in the redzone. He’s played way too much football to make stupid decisions and throws like that.

I’ll also stand by Bucky being forced, he didn’t have the year he had last year as an every down back. Predictably brining White on 3rd down is Busch league

  91. DavidBigBucsFan99 Says:

If Bowles doesn’t fire the ST coach then he should be fired if we don’t get to the playoffs

  92. LongSeason Says:

Another game ball goes out to Chase McLaughlin.
Longest FG in Bucs history of 65 yards.
    Previous longs:
    62 – Matt Bryant
    58 – Matt Gay
    57 – Conner Barth
Tied second longest field of 65 yards with 66 yard being longest. Chase’s 65 FG is the longest outdoor FG in NFL history.

  93. Davyboy Says:

Sunny has a grasp on reality and what really matters

  94. Devon Says:

As unhappy as I feel with the loss reading some of these posts makes me laugh. Everyone sucks! Fire all the coaches! Relax. We weren’t going undefeated. Despite the errors and officiating the boys fought hard until the end. Stay strong Bucs fans, we have a lot of season left.

  95. TombsEN Says:

Man it’s so many trolls on this site that it makes it hard to want to read the comments and stories. Eventually people will stop coming to this site bc the trolls are so unbearable

  96. Tee Says:

The fires Bowles crowd is exhausting!! He is not going anywhere and these guys play hard for him. He is the reason Baker is here. Geezus Christ. The defense stepped up in 2nd half. Bucs will be looking for a new punter this week tho.

  97. TombsEN Says:

We lost by 8 points with 2 TOs and a blocked punt returned for a TD. Some of you so called fans are so dang annoying. It’s like Tampa fans have little brain cells

  98. BucaneroJim Says:

    5 takeaways:

Bucs defense coaching needs to realize the NFL is now the NBA. Defensive players are allowed to grab the shirt/jersey and knock the receiver down before the ball gets there. Covid regulations of 6’ separation no longer exist.

Baker is still throwing passes just behind the receiver. Eyeglasses? Been happening a lot this season.

Our punter is slow, slow, slow in his follow through.

EE is human… but still very impressive.

Down 8 points? Hurry up football, man.

  99. #1bucsfan Says:

The people calling for Bowles head don’t have a clue what they are talking.

  100. LakelandBuc Says:

    Lol,

    Just as l predicted
The ” Fire Bowles ” crew will be out in force
As soon as they lose their first game

    It’s really pathetic

  101. White Tiger Says:

Great game, only got Tristan & CG back a few days ago and the o-line looks so much more dependable, and Chris is getting back integrated. Never thought we would win this game, too many ST issues, and playing from behind moments. We’re getting healthier and the defense and offense really came on in the 2nd half.

Looking forward to the next few games!

  102. BucaneroJim Says:

    Seriously, welcome back Chase!

  103. Jmarkbuc Says:

How did we not go hurry up in the last half of the fourth quarter? The Eagles were dying.

  104. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“this fanbase is annoying. 3-1, and down to the wire against the team that won the superbowl last season even with all of our injuries.“

Some of us just have different standards for our favorite team, trying to crap on that is moronic because with all you just listed we still just helped the SB champs beat us.

Punt Block for a TD to start and 2 second half turnovers that cost us points. Pointing that out doesn’t make anybody “whiny” it means they actually understand what lost the damn game.

  105. Davyboy Says:

WBL it would have been a TD if it hadn’t been tipped. If Baker had more than 1.25 seconds to throw the ball maybe, just maybe the receivers could get open.

  106. LUVMYBUCS Says:

    LakelandBuc

LOL, they only show up when we lose. How does that make them real fans?

  107. Danny Mac Says:

Too many Debbie Downers and Negative Nancys make the world a depressing place.

  108. Buctoothbucky Says:

Where are all these FAKE bucs fans coming from? I am very proud of this team with a decimated front o-line and receiving corps. How can you guys complain when they had a chance to win this game with all of the injuries. Be proud that we have a team that will fight and not give up. If you guys don’t like them go root for somebody else.

  109. Bucfan1999 Says:

Man I really really wanted to go in this game but it is what it is had some bad plays that cost us this game can’t complain to much, overall I’m satisfied with how this team looks so far won’t hang my head on this game

  110. Falconrap Says:

Despite the blocked punt for a TD; despite the poor officiating let the Eagles get away with penalties left and right (even though they did call a good number of them); despite two turnovers…we had a couple of chances to tie this game and maybe win in OT. Yet some of you think we’re going into the toilet now? Good grief. The Panthers and Saints suck, and I still think the Falcons aren’t all that great. So winning the division is still highly likely and getting into the playoffs is all we need (on top of getting healthy). I do think the strength and conditioning team need to go bye-bye. We continue to be hit with more injuries year after year than most teams, and that goes back to them. But please stop with all the panic crap. This team is real good and is only going to get better when we get Evans back, Godwin in better shape, and once Morrison can play regularly. Dude was lockdown. Hopefully the hammy is just a cramp up or tweak and not something bad.

  111. Clownwich Says:

Did the Bucs Special Teams staff watch any film this past week? Their own or what Philadelphia did last week. Sad.

There were still some positives despite the hole dug in the first half.

  112. Colddecked Says:

For some reason we like to kick long ass FGs vs the Eagles.

    Wanted to win this game*

  114. Mobucs Says:

Why do the Bucs think that, in a crucial situation in a tough game, running a rookie receiver on an end-around is the best call?
As for the game, I think it’s not always bad when an untested team gets shown by a championship team what it takes to win at a high level.
Major puzzlement: I thought what’s-his-name was supposed to bring peace of mind to our punting game. Didn’t he get the memo?

  115. infomeplease Says:

This game could have gone either way. The refs never are fair… all the missed pass interference calls! No excuses, the turnovers cost us!! The Buc’s can play with anyone if they can clean up some things and get a bit more healthy! Bring on the Seahawks!!

  116. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

“Why do the Bucs think that, in a crucial situation in a tough game, running a rookie receiver on an end-around is the best call?“

Cause our OC is an amateur, we’ll give Egbuka run reps before White & Tucker, crazy business.

  117. Stuck Says:

    Punter is horrendous

  118. Bucfan1988 Says:

Thanks Joe’s for supporting my constant comments on your previous articles & game blog about the jersey pulls….

These were ALL coming from Eagles #27, their so-called “shutdown corner”, one Quinyon Mitchell…..

Yeah if you can constantly hold up WR routes by running behind them holding their jerseys & ripping their undershirts, and have the refs not call it, then I guess that’s the NEW definition of shutting down receivers 🙄🙄🙄……..

Bottom line though is Bowles should be sending in the 6-7 videos of Mitchell’s constant grabs to the NFL office with a comment saying WTF ?????

  119. HopetheBucswin!! Says:

When do we actually start to play good? Team wide we are playing terrible. Squeeked out 3-0 start out of sheer determination. They had plenty of it today, But not playing good.

  120. Rod Munch Says:

I’m actually OK with it. I was expecting worse, and if Baker doesn’t throw that terrible INT in the end zone, the Bucs likely win. Still, Baker was hurt all week, only practiced on Friday I believe, and I’ll accept dumb plays when it’s being aggressive, even if that played crossed over into being literally retarded.

But I figured on a loss, and the Bucs did better than I thought they would, and Godwin actually looked better than I was expecting as well.

If the Bucs can stay in it for a few weeks, get back Evans, McMillan and Luke and hopefully not lose more starters in the meantime, and with the rookie corners getting more snaps, the Bucs should be in good shape.

  121. The Daily Coroner Says:

Last week, a blocked extra point for a touchdown, which almost cost us the game. This week a blocked field goal, which did cost us the game.
If the Bucs don’t fire, their kicking and special teams coaches on Monday, maybe they’re not serious about winning the Super Bowl.

  122. purplebeard Says:

We were out coached. And sorry, but superbowl teams make contested catches

  123. purplebeard Says:

    Rusty or not

  124. Buc_My_life Says:

Timbucs2, is that a serious question….? Did you watch the game? When you’re down 8 with 4:30 left and you take the play clock down to under :05 at every play and burn a timeout, running the ball and huddling up every play, that is playing for a tie. We have an epidemic of football illiteracy in our fan base and they are the vocal Bowles supporters. Anybody with a grain of sense when it comes to this sport has known since day 1 we would never be a championship team under his leadership. His flaws are too many and significant. Come on guys, this isn’t hard to see. We have 8 years of evidence that Todd Bowles is a slightly below average head coach. Period.

  125. Bojim Says:

3-1. Get em next week. Disappointed but still feeling good about the Bucs.

  126. purplebeard Says:

Maybe so many coaches call bowles elite is so he won’t lose his job?

  127. Bucblind Says:

That tip, d*** that tip. We are going to be just fine.

  128. mj Says:

i have a new team to hate: the igggles they suck and they play dirty and hold on every down! and their fans are band wagon jumpers! too bad their schedule is so weak!! hey iggles fan 0% chance of repeat!!

If you score with 2 mins left, you’re giving the ball back to the Eagles only needing a FG to win. Have you watched the NFL since, say, 2020 or so? Teams that do that, lose about 95% of the time. If you can’t get an immediate TD, of course you run the clock down, since if you don’t, you’re the Texans, you’re the Jets, and you lose the game. Basic 101 entry level stuff there.

  130. jimmy Says:

punting was bad. kicking was good. bucs dont score on their opening drive anymore. rushing game continues to struggle. complaining about penalties is useless. pretty obvious lack of preparation on the bucs part. some good play from the rooks on D. mistakes were the difference today. great day by kam johnson after what years of crap returns we have a guy.

What was the breakdown in game penalties between the teams today?

Just because they had more penalties called doesn’t mean they didn’t get away with “MANY” more.

My friend, teams that leave no time on the clock and fail to score down 8 lose 100% of the time. This is infant level stuff. If you’d like some private tutoring I let me know, I’m sure I can find some time to help out a fellow Bucs fan. We need to up our football literacy as a fanbase anyway, so I’m happy to help out someone clearly struggling to grasp the basics. Just let me know and I’ll send you my info.

  133. Bartow Buc Says:

Well with all the jersey pulls, and other atrocious pass interferences, the Eagles showed us Bucs fans they can’t win unless they cheat and play dirty. That won’t hold up all season.
Also, the Bucs contained the heck out of Hurts, limited him to two yard touchdown passes. I predict the Eagles will not play in this season’s Super Bowl!!
Hopefully the Bucs will get another chance to beat them !

    Go Bucs !!

  134. Sapp 2 Fundamentally Sound Says:

    Time management ?
The eagles on this day fielded a better team talent wise than us.
Huddling and calling run plays was the best we could do today.
Playing for a tie when you are so far behind was the only option available.

When we get e other half of our offensive starters/stars back we will be a different team, but on this particular Sunday the Bucs were clawing & scratching & praying just to keep our offensive heads above water.
It’s not coincidence that our best offensive scoring plays were made off schedule. It wasn’t because of the play call… geez is it not obvious that we were lucky to even have a chance to be in the game?

Our new offensive play caller is playing with a half deck… Nothing we have seen so far can be judged in any way??? WTF

I promise you, the Eagles are counting their blessings that we ran out of time.
They ran out of bounds on the last play for a safety retreating!
Damn, some of you posters don’t have a clue and some of you are just not Bucs fans that come here to hate

  135. #99 the big fella Says:

Did you guys that are saying fire Bowles think we were going to go undefeated ?
Todd didn’t fumble, throw an interception or get a punt blocked. What he did do is shut out Philly in the second half. We will be fine.

Godwin will get better, McMillan will be back, Evan’s will be back. I am proud how we fought back against the superbowl champs. Unbelievable how this fan base is..

  136. Obvious Says:

I don’t like losing and in ear to ear today.

When we get healthy we are going on a run.

  137. Mike Johnson Says:

Tough loss. Blocked punt really set the tone when they jumped on us early. Throw it in the garbage. Can’t do nothin about it. Ruck up. We got them SeaHawks up next. Lets be ready baby!

  138. Tucker Says:

Almost made a comeback, special teams is still so brutal been a problem multiple years now.

  139. Obvious Says:

    NO MORE INJURIES!!

    Thank the lord almighty!

  140. jcscycles Says:

Baker’s interception at the end was a tipped ball. Not on him.

  141. WillS0024 Says:

Baker played incredible again today; he had Godwin on that interception. Really concerned about Reddick and our defensive line generally. TIME TO TRADE FOR SOMEONE,

  142. Aqualung Says:

First half is exactly what Aqualung points out .

Slow starts, flat, and unprepared. A Tood Bowels patented game. How do you show up against the defending NFL champs flat? Nevermind, we know.

    And then…..and then….

Mr Magoo strikes again! How does this clown have a job? Who is responsible for either getting him to fix the glaring defects or get someone that can.

First half defense what a surprise. Not. Soft shell underneath and blitzing is a great formula to let a team slice right down the field. Of course there was the first drive score Todd apparently likes giving up. Sir Vocea Dennis should be on the bench, he is a liability.

The offense was horrendous, a combination of the old “one flat all flat” philosophy. How could all three phases be so flat and lifeless? It’s a norm for The Todd.

    But then…..

    The second half.

That’s the best half of Bucs defensive football I’ve seen since 2005. Similar to last season, the D came out in the second half and tightened everything up. If you ask Todd he’ll probably say “I don’t know.” Whatever, we know the Bucs can play good defense. What Aqualung wants to see is for Jason to go into the Head Coich’s office and order his to tell his Defensive Coordinatpr to begin the game that way. And while he’s there, fire Magoo.

Growing pains for Griz today, first half was Vomitous playcalling. Second half, again, gives reason for Hope.

And as Joe says, the refs were wearing Eagles hats. Atrocious. Todd and Jason should absolutely get the film, and send the league officiating office the multiple examples of ineptitude, including Hurts fumbling forward, they gave him a first down . You can’t get a first down by fumbling forward.

If Todd would have the defense come out with their hair on fire in the first half and begin the game like the did in the 2nd half, Todd will get his flowers from Aqualung.

The coming out flat and unprepared thing in all three phases also has to be a thing of the past.

C’mon Todd, please make Aqualung eat crow in dirty clothes on a park bench.

Not happy to see Bowles laughing and joking with Siriani immediately after the game. I realize these guys are humans but at least pretend to be pissed off like the fans are.

But they aren’t. At all. Coaches travel frequently. If they haven’t worked together, they have atl least crossed paths. They all stay on Friendly terms. They may be working together soon.
Plus they are young, wealthy. Same business. Of course they get along.

The Players? lol! Young millionaires who also cross paths frequently. In the off season, they train together. Vacation together.

The ONLY people who dislike other teams are fans. Poor ( by pllayer standards) people who aren’t good enough to play NFL. Yet they let the outcome of games determine their moods. Look how many angry, hateful people are posting here now!
While the Eagle and Buc players and coaches are hanging out at their mansions together.
Ridiculous when you think about it

  144. SoFloBuc Says:

You know what really irked my “Craw”, and there is a lot!!! It was a Philly defensive player waving his arms telling the crowd to get loud in our own $&@#%!!! STADIUM!!!!

  145. #99 the Big Fella Says:

Aqualung that’s the nicest thing you have ever said

  146. Cometowin2 Says:

I would have been in no huddle at 6 mins left in the 1st quarter when we went down 14 let alone down 18. If we had done that, we would have had another drive left at the end despite the mistakes. Poor clock management AGAIN!!! Just ran out of time. It’s not against the rules to go into 2 minute or hurry up offense earlier!!! This would have likely wore out the Eagle’s defense and we probably win. How can Bowles and Grizz not see this? Unfortunately no one has the balls to take Bowles to task on this and ask him why!!!

We get Evans and Goedeke back we should be hard to beat. Defense played excellent the 2nd half. The whole team has to come out ready to play. Got to fix our blocking on special teams. 2 blocked punts, another punt almost blocked and a blocked FG so far is unacceptable.

  147. Defense Rules Says:

LVMYBUCS … ‘It really pisses me off that we could be elite with a better coaching staff’.

LVMYBUCS … ‘Fire Bowles and bring back chucky to finish the season’.

THIS coaching staff has this team playing pretty damned well. And oh ya, THIS coaching staff is the one that’s trained them up to play as well as they do. Not perfect for sure, but a helluvalot better than what we were seeing for years & years in the ‘Den of Depression’.

Oh and LUVMYBUCS, you’ve got an excellent track record of outstanding analyses & comments. I don’t blame you for being pissed when frauds like LVMYBUCS pretend to be you.

  148. Aqualung Says:

Hey I mean it. Tell me when the Bucs have played a better 30 minutes of defense. Minus yards!!!!!

And, even though it looked like a dumpster fire, the lads came out and gave themselves a chance to win. That needs to be built on, not filed away only to revert to soft shell turtle.

Cmon Todd! Crow is tasty this time of year. I boil it and serve it with raw kale if anyone’s up for it

  149. Gman Says:

Whining about the refs is for losers. Just stop embarrassing our fanbase.
