Reports: Emeka Egbuka Expected To Play Against The Jets
September 21st, 2025
Should be ready to play today.
Bucs fans need good news with all of the Bucs injuries. So here we go.
Rookie receiver Emeka Egbuka is listed on the Bucs’ injury report as questionable with hip and groin injuries. Plural.
Multiple reports, including those from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network and Adam Schefter from BSPN, say Egbuka is expected to suit up today in the Bucs’ home opener against the Jets.
That’s great news because Egbuka has made an immediate impact. He caught the game-winning touchdown in Week 1 from Bucco Baker Mayfield for a 25-yard score.
Ebguka also has three touchdowns in two games, tied for the league lead. Others who have three touchdowns along with Egbuka are Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Lions, Quentin Johnston of the Chargers and Rome Odunze of the Bears.
Strong company.

THIS WOULD BE THE PERFECT GAME FOR ANTONIO TO COME RUNNING OUT OF THE BUCS TUNNEL. DURING THE JETS GAME.😄

Baker bailed him out last week. That was a bad drop and all the overly hyped accolades need to stop.

Aqua that was a difficult catch to make. It was over his shoulder while diving for it with a defender draped on him. Would of been a heck of a catch but not sure many in the NFL make that catch. Certainly not consistently.

Aikman said it was a perfect throw because it was. NFL receivers are expected to make those catches. If Bucs don’t win, there would be more discussion about the drop. Mayfield just rolled with it and kept coming after Texans.

Groin injuries in particular really concern me because, in my experiences, they take a considerable amount to time to heal 100%. The issue of re-aggravating them is ever-present if you try to do too much too fast. Hopefully we don’t overuse him.

Read somewhere that EE will be playing without any restrictions. Great news.

Mac – idk it hit him right in the hands. Perfect passes need to be caught. I don’t think any less of Emeka, he’s obviously a stud, but he knows he should have caught that. With the offensive line being what it is, Baker isn’t gonna have a lot of chances to go downfield. Gotta help the qb. Hopefully Emeka groin holds up, it would be the most Bucs thing ever for Godwin to finally comeback and them Emeka and/or Evans gets hurt

Yay. If we get a great lead, take him out.

Well, it’s another Game Day in the life of a Bucs fan. The usual boatload of injuries. The one saving grace is it’s early in the season. Anywho, go Bucs, 3-0!!

Everyone complaining about EE’s drop in game 2 seriously needs to check themselves. He’s caught 13 0f 14 passes! Of course I would have loved for him to catch that ball. I would love for EVERY Bucs player to catch 100% of the balls thrown to them. But I promise you, every player & every coach in this league will take an average of 13 out of 14 attempts!
I’m way more concerned about his groin injury today than hands!
He’s a baller & a key piece to our offensive future! I can’t wait to root for him every single game!!!
