Rachaad White Returns To Practice

August 19th, 2025

Rachaad White’s scary-looking groin injury 10 days ago on a slick field at The Licht House has improved quickly.

Joe is ecstatic. Yeah, Sean Tucker is a very capable fill-in, but White scored 9 touchdowns last year and is a top-flight No. 2 running back. That’s not a guy Joe is cool with missing opening day.

How healthy is White? That’s unclear, but he was back practicing with the team today in some capacity. Teams are not required to issue injury reports in August. White did not practice last week.

Combine that with safety Antoine Winfield returning today and looking sharp, well, Joe’s been uplifted.

Joe does not expect White to play on Saturday in the preseason finale against the Bills. If he does, that would feel awfully foolish.

Now all Joe needs is a Tristan Wirfs or Chris Godwin signing at a practice. Yeah, neither will play on opening day in 19 short days, but it sure would be a great sign that either is truly progressing.

And let’s hope to see J-Mac soon as well!

  2. Aqualung Says:

Oh, I bet Todd will start White and play him the whole first half, to prove he’s healthy and also, playing White helps Sean Tucker get more touches, doesn’t it?

  3. Saskbucs Says:

The 22 projected starters vs ATL plus White better be in street clothes vs Buffalo.

    Can Rachaad Play Flanker??

  5. Hodad Says:

As long as Teddy doesn’t throw a balloon over the middle to White he should be good.

  6. LakelandBuc Says:

    We need Rachaad White,

The Buck and Tuck show didn’t look good Saturday night

  7. Baker Bowl Says:

Don’t play anyone in the last worthless preseason game except the guys fighting for a roster spot. Probably nothing to see from most guys apart from the few that are on the cusp at this point of preseason.

Put Desmond Watson on the field, let me see Nash Hutmacher turn some heads, can Shilo do enough to make the team, who’s going to round out the receiver room?

I want the answers to those questions.

  8. SlyPirate Says:

Feels a little thin at RB. Give RW some work in the slot.

  9. Bucswin Says:

Don’t play anyone that is for sure to be counted on in the regular season. They are worthless preseason games for veterans and glue guys. Valuable for players figuring for their careers. Only pay the bottom of the roster. Duh! Go Bowles!

  10. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

Wet grass is terrible for footing, and raises the likelihood of these soft tissue injuries with guys being as big, explosive, and fast as they are. Hopefully for Rachaad it gets better with time, instead of lingering.

I still don’t understand why the Bucs didn’t try him out in the slot after all the WRs got injured last year. I mean you were down your top 5 WRs, and they still didn’t even experiment with it.

From White’s standpoint, the most valuable thing in the world to him would be to get some snaps in the slot, because his next contract would go from like $3m a year, to around $10m a year if he’s anything close to decent at it, and if he was good, the sky is the limit.

  14. Beeej Says:

WR’s make a LOT more than RB’s, White should consider switching. The late Charley Taylor had a 13 year career as a WR after switching over

  15. Yall don't get it Says:

I dont even want to see Izien out there, or culp, at this point Sheppard or Heck. Maybe even Braswell.

  16. garro Says:

Good injury news for change. Thanks Joe. We need Rachaad.

    Go Bucs!

  17. AbrahamVCherry Says:

With the JMac injury there will be a 2 back offense with Rachaad getting the ball more in the passing game
