Bucs Training Camp 2025, Day 13 Practice Notes

August 11th, 2025

Tez Johnson returned to practice. (Photo from an earlier practice.)

Today was technically the final practice of 2025 training camp at One Buc Palace.

There were no fans today but the bleachers were still up. And the Bucs were back to underwear football — no hitting allowed.

Cade Otton, undrafted free agent running back Josh Williams and rookie receiver Tez Johnson were practicing. It was only the third practice for Otton this summer as he was dealing with a hamstring issue.

And for August in Tampa, it was unusually… cool for practice! A comfortable temperature in the low 80s with low humidity and a brisk wind. It almost felt like (gasp!) fall. Football weather!

* There’s Logan Hall! Kyle Trask goes back to pass and Hall bullrushed his way through the middle of the Bucs’ offensive line and would have had a sack if hitting was allowed (underwear football rules). Trask dodges Hall and throws the ball away to the right.

* Sean Tucker runs up the middle. With Rachaad White sidelined, Tucker got a bunch of work this morning.

* Tucker runs between the left tackle and guard.

* Williams has two straight runs up the middle, the second he weaved through traffic.

* Mike Evans is wide ass open down the right sideline and No. 4 QB Connor Bazelak hits him in stride (!).

* Bucky Irving up the middle.

* Baker Mayfield overthrows Emeka Egbuka over the middle. Warren Peeples applied pressure.

* Mayfield looked to be throwing to Bucky Irving and Peoples tipped Mayfield’s pass at the line. Mayfield did not like this at all and hollered the third of George Carlin’s seven dirty words.

* Trask throws to Sterling Shepard in the left flat and the pass was high and outside, Ball 1.

* Tucker up the middle for not much.

* Trask connects with Ryan Miller down the right sideline.

* Teddy Bridgewater takes his first snap in 11-on-11 drills. He connects with Garrett Greene along the left sideline.

* Tucker runs up the middle.

* Uh, oh. Looks like practice is over super early, but it’s not. Instead, it’s a team huddle at midfield and it seems someone (Joe couldn’t tell who was doing the talking) is doing some arse-chewing. Why does Joe think this? Practice was very loud and chatty before the team huddle. Immediately after the team huddle, all the players became eerily quiet.

* Mayfield rifles a pass to Mike Evans down the left seam.

* Mayfield with a quick pass to Egbuka on the right sideline near the line of scrimmage.

* Whoa! Mayfield threads a needle, connecting with Jalen McMillan in a crowd of Bucs defenders.

* Tucker runs to the right.

* Williams up the middle.

* Trask throws to the right and Markees Watts (!) was so determined to get to the intended receiver Watts never noticed he had a chance for a pick-six. When coaches say to keep your head up, they mean it.

* Bridgewater connects with Tucker along the right sideline.

* Williams tries to run up the middle but is dropped for a two-yard loss.

* Bucky catches a screen pass to the left from Mayfield. It was so perfect. Mayfield looked like he threw a changeup. The ball just got over defenders’ heads and Bucky ran under the ball for the catch.

* Bucky runs up the middle.

* Tucker runs to the right.

* Williams up the middle.

* Joe senses the Bucs are running the ball a lot this morning. Especially up the middle.

* Tucker runs right and then cuts inside for a nice gain.

Red zone

* Bucky runs twice up the middle.

* Mayfield throws an absolute bullet of a pass over the middle and Egbuka catches the ball on about the two-yard line, cuts upfield, takes two steps and scores.

* Mayfield had a ball tipped at the line.

* Mayfield hits Devin Culp in the back of the end zone.

* Same play this time the pass is off Culp’s hands as the pass was a little high.

* Ryan Miller catches a Trask pass along the left sideline.

* Williams catches a screen pass for a touchdown as he runs right up the left hashmarks.

* After Tucker runs up the middle, he catches a touchdown pass to the right.

* Williams runs to the left for very little.

* Rashad Wisdom blitzes Trask and Trask tries to unload it to Culp to the right in the end zone but the ball was too short.

11-on-11

* Mayfield pumps three times wanting to go to the right but he instead checks down to Williams on a short pass to the left.

* Bucky up the middle for very little.

* Mayfield steps up in the pocket and throws deep for Rakim Jarrett down the right sideline. But Jarrett couldn’t hang on as he takes a tumble.

* Bucky to the right.

* This was a fun play. Egbuka cleared out the left side as he went deep to the left. In the void, Mike Evans exploits the green grass and catches a short pass to the left from Mayfield.

* Trask throws for Tez Johnson along the right sideline but Kindle Vildor knocks the ball away. Joe thought that maybe Vildor got away with interference.

* Jarrett gets behind the defense on the left side but Trask couldn’t get the ball out in front enough. As the ball floated, it gave Tyrek Funderburk time to recover and swat the ball away.

* Bridgewater throws to Tucker for a catch on the left side.

* Bridgewater throws low to Shepard to the left but Shepard goes to the ground to scoop the ball up for a catch.

* Bucky gets a big gain running to the right.

* Mayfield throws a pass maybe 20 yards downfield to the right sideline for Evans and Jacob Parrish is able to knock the ball away.

* Mayfield tries to connect with McMillan on the left side and Jamel Dean dives out to knock the ball away. McMillan’s momentum carried him to just in front of the bleachers and once his cleats hit the slick plastic flooring, McMillan took a tumble on his behind. Bucs staffers had already taken down the snow fence in front of the bleachers so McMillan had little chance for help to slow down.

* All these batted down passes by the defense to kill a play and get off the field likely has Todd Bowles furious.

* Trask tries to get a pass to Miller but he had two defenders in his face. Incomplete.

* Bucky rips off a big gain to the left.

* Trask way overthrows Johnson. Today is typical Trask. While Trask is not horrible today, he’s taken a step back. That’s what Trask does. He may have two good outings and then the third practice, he takes a step back. Trask looked good in the joint practice against the mighty Titans and pretty good in the worthless preseason game on Saturday night. Just like clockwork, he comes out this morning and isn’t his best.

* Trask hooks up with Tucker for a big gain.

* Jose Ramirez is alive! He breaks through and charges Trask who gets off a pass to Jaden Smith (UDFA WR Nevada) but it’s incomplete.

* Bazelak ends practice with a deep pass over the middle for Garrett for a touchdown.

No practice for the Bucs tomorrow as they fly to Pittsburgh. On Wednesday, the Bucs will practice at Carnegie Mellon University. Thursday, the Bucs and Steelers will have a joint practice. Friday is a day off. The Bucs’ second worthless preseason game is Saturday against the Steelers at the House That Antonio Brown Built.

  1. LakelandBuc Says:

    Tez Johnson and Josh Williams are back,

    I know they got a wakeup call
    After watching Garrett Greene and Owen Wright

    I’m still leaning Greene over Tez
    Because we desperately need a (Utility player).

    Imagine Greene running the Wildcat
    Dude is a dual threat QB, with good vision and speed

  2. Will Says:

    I’m starting to think that either the coaches or Joe are trolling us with the consistent run up the gut being the 1st run play of what seems like every practice. Lol

  3. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Good to hear Williams & Johnson are practicing….will probably see them play Saturday

  4. Bucs4Ever Says:

    Evans, Godwin, McMillan(3rd/4th), Emeka(3rd/4th), Miller(5th string), Greene, One of Jarrett/Shepard/palmer

    If we carry 7 WRs…don’t think Tez is even in the convo at this point

  5. heyjude Says:

    “Jose Ramirez is alive!” Good to hear! Sounds like Teddy is fitting in. Mayfield and Buka connection. Looking good.

    Liking Greene and Wright too.

  6. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    “Mayfield looked to be throwing to Bucky Irving and Peoples tipped Mayfield’s pass at the line. Mayfield did not like this at all and hollered the third of George Carlin’s seven dirty words.”

    “Uh, oh. Looks like practice is over super early, but it’s not. Practice was very loud and chatty before the team huddle. Immediately after the team huddle, all the players became eerily quiet.”

    I wonder if these two are related? Mayfield going diva?

  7. Buccaneer Bonzai Says:

    Personally, I hope Trask doesn’t make the team. It would be the best thing for him at this point.

  8. SlyPirate Says:

    ATLANTA DEFENSIVE ROOKIES
    Preseason Game 1 Stats for both 1st round picks:

    Jalon Walker – 1 tackle in 19 downs
    James Pierce – 0 stats in 18 downs

    So far, Atlanta morgaged their future for 1 combined tackle.

  9. BucVoyager Says:

    Trask not making the team would be the best for the Bucs. Tired of hearing his name and all the so called promises

  10. heyjude Says:

    Buccaneer Bonzai – I can’t see Baker going Diva. He’s got that grit, moxie though. It could be about all of them being too chatty before the huddle. Over-confident after the preseason win. Bowles probably just wanted to calm them down for now. Trask will make the team. His contract ends at the end of this season so he could be picked up by another team.

  11. Stpetematt Says:

    Hoping Tez shows out for the rest of the preseason. He’s very elusive, so would be great on shorter passes where he can make a move and get upfield. Bucs’ blocks have been so excellent lately he’s another player that can break big plays.

  12. Fred Says:

    Who is Williams? Shouldn’t Wright be getting those touches?

  13. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    Vildor probably looked like he was interfering, but it was really just that +20lbs weight difference between he and Tez showing up in motion.

    “Trask looked good in the joint practice against the mighty Titans and pretty good in the worthless preseason game on Saturday night. Just like clockwork, he comes out this morning and isn’t his best.”

    Sounds like he’s picking up the tendency to be streaky from Baker.

    “* Mayfield looked to be throwing to Bucky Irving and Peoples tipped Mayfield’s pass at the line.”

    Recipe for an INT. I can think of a couple against the Saints in both games last year that got tipped at the LOS and turned into a giveaway. I’m sure Mayfield knows it too, and that’s something he won’t talk about even if questioned he’ll just BS around the topic. “Ah, ya hate to see it happen but we gotta do better” no Bake YOU have to do better lol

  14. Kenton Smith Says:

    Buccaneer Bonzai, sometimes reading comprehension is required. If you paid attention you’d have noticed that the 2 plays before the butt chewing Mayfield missed Egbuka with Peoples applying pressure. The play before the butt chewing Peoples tipped the pass and it sounds like Baker cussed him. Bowles said after practice that the team talk revolved around this being underwear football adjustments must be made. After the team meeting it sounds like Mayfield was on fire and I didn’t hear this Peoples dudes name mentioned again. I hadn’t heard his name before. So Baker is a Diva? No, he’s not. But he’s the kind of competitor you don’t want to pi$$ off. And Bonzai. You’re a troll. You shouldn’t need much reading comprehension to understand that!

  15. Kenton Smith Says:

    Warren Brooks Lynch, do you reckon that in underwear football any decent d-lineman who wasn’t following underwear football protocol could tip dang near every pass and pretty much blow up every play? There is a fine line there, and I’m sure that after Peoples blew up 2 in a row Mayfield probably used some choice words to tell the kid that if that’s the way you wanna play,Great! Just my thoughts.

  16. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    No, he’s not. But he’s the kind of competitor you don’t want to pi$$ off.

  17. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    We gotta relax with talking about Mayfield like he’s Paul Bunyan or Big John Henry or some mythical folk lord.

  18. LakelandBuc Says:

    I think Warren Peeples has more Grit, Grind
    Than these other young Edge Rushers
    He’s working hard, taking advantage of his opportunity
    He knows and understands, what’s at stake
    He wasn’t drafted, and gifted a spot on this roster

    I think this is one of the Best UDFA signing ever
    We have UDFAs, that’s going after it
    They hungry and they wanna eat
    These drafted players, are laying back.
    Because they feel they have guaranteed jobs

    We have at least 8-10 UDFA’s, fighting for a roster spot

    I’m more impressed with our UDFAs than our draft picks

  19. Kenton Smith Says:

    Do better Warren Brooks Lynch. “No Bake, you have to do better lol”. “he’s picking up the tendency to be streaky from Baker”. You remember the Saints games where Baker screwed up. Nobody is comparing Baker to Paul Bunyan. And who the heck is Big John Henry? You’ve got nothing better to do than troll Mayfield. Sad.

  20. Tampabaybucfan Says:

    Good to hear Williams & Johnson are practicing….will probably see them play Saturday

  21. Kenton Smith Says:

    And I’m not taking a thing away from this UDFA. I’m sure he’s a good kid working hard to make the team. It’s chippy out there and these guys are grinding. I’m just pointing out that starting this narrative was our QB being called a Diva. Yes, I’ll defend Baker.

  22. Pickgrin Says:

    “Peoples tipped Mayfield’s pass at the line. Mayfield did not like this at all and hollered the third of George Carlin’s seven dirty words.”

    Lets see – that would be sh**, p**s, f**k, c**t, c**ksucker, mother-f**ker and t**s…. ok now I’ve got the accurate visual of Baker’s outburst.

    Maybe Mayfield should try wearing some KISS style platform boots when he is playing football. He’d be a much less effective scrambler of course – but could at least see over the line and it would cut way down on balls batted down at the line of scrimmage….

  23. HC Grover Says:

    Looking fwd to the game.

  24. SlyPirate Says:

    NEWS: BUCS SIGN ATLANTA RB – Jase McClellan

    Finally the Bucs sign a former member of a primary opponent. Seems like the other teams do this to the Bucs all the time.

  25. Chris Cotten Says:

    Myself and Tampabaybucfan will be at the home opener

  26. Scott Says:

    Warren Peeples is one to watch for sure.

  27. MelvinJunior Says:

    I seriously, do not get the constant insistence, come hell or high water, I’m running it UP. THE. MIDDLE. It’s freakin’ insanity. Just a wasted play. Especially, when ‘under center’ after huddling on 1st-down… it’s a momentum killer, & it immediately puts you’re Offense in a hole, from the jump. I don’t get it… I really don’t. It makes ZERO sense.

  28. MelvinJunior Says:

    It needs to be when in rhythm AFTER picking up a first-down, on a big-play down the field, and QUICK. It’s al about pace and tempo. Just keep it MOVIN’ – Let’s GO!!!!

  29. Warren Brooks Lynch Says:

    “Yes, I’ll defend Baker.“

    We know, but Joe has written about the tips a while back

  30. MelvinJunior Says:

    You’re NOT going to just ‘walk-up’ there SLOW, after ‘huddling-up,’ and then run the play clock down to 1 or 2 seconds left (allowing the defense time to get set and then diagnose the play, and etc.), before snapping the fricking ball, then ‘trying to’ just run it down the throats like THAT… Cause, it ain’t happenin.’ Total. WASTED. Play. 💯

  31. MelvinJunior Says:

    4th-Quarter, a little different against a tired, worn-out, and beat-up Defense.

  32. Oneilbuc Says:

    When it comes to Trask I don’t believe nothing what the Joe’s say because he’s always playing bad in their eyes but then when he plays in games he plays good . They really need to stop the promotion of Baker Mayfield it’s ok we all know he’s the staring quarterback and we all have excepted it . So you guys don’t have to keep promoting Baker Mayfield. On other bucs sites Baker has been throwing picks left and right and the Joe’s won’t report it. Baker Mayfield has to step up in the playoffs and stop turning over the ball in big moments then we can get to a Superbowl.

  33. JimBobBuc Says:

    I’m very happy to hear about the huddle and likely arse chewing! The Bucs need move of this leadership and holding people accountable.

  34. Stpetematt Says:

    MelvinJunior,

    The Bucs had the lowest percentage of three-and-outs of ANY NFL TEAM last year. So running up the middle is not hurting them in any way.

  35. jimmy Says:

    offense wise i am most looking forward to seeing what year 2 of bucky irving looks like. hope for good health and injury free year and really see what that guy has in the tank. 1500? more? too hopeful?

  36. Bee Says:

    Oneilbuc and a few others can see blatant bias when comes to covering Baker and Trask. Honestly if Baker was elite Joseph and Joseph wouldn’t have to shill so hard. Think about Burrow, there’s no questions there. No promotion needed, you know Burrow is elite. He scores despite what his horrible defense does. If Baker is as good as yall say he is the Bucs should make it out of the first round right?

  37. Oneilbuc Says:

    Bee. The bucs defense is not as bad people make it seem the bucs defense was way worse when we Jamies was here.

  38. MikeBuc Says:

    Hey @oneilbuc – Freudian slip?

    ” Baker Mayfield it’s ok we all know he’s the staring quarterback and we all have excepted it ”

    Yeah lol…..theres a few of you guys that still EXCEPT that Baker is the starting QB…

  39. Kenton Smith Says:

    Bee, if Burrow was all you say he is then maybe he could make the playoffs? Baker consistently kicked Burrows a$$ when they played in the same division.

  40. Aqualung Says:

    The world has been made more tardated thanks to some drooling posters and their baseless opinions.

  41. Anyhony Says:

    the Bucs will practice at Carnegie Mellon University
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Named for Rodney Dangerfield (Back to School)
  42. Bee Says:
    If the Bucs had Burrow last year I bet this team could’ve scored more than 20 points at home. The Bengals defense is trash btw.
    Oneilbuc
    I agree. The Bucs defense held WAS to 10 points at the start of the 4th. Doing what the defense is supposed to do and that’s stop the other team from scoring. The fumble changed the momentum of the game.
  43. Aqualung Says:
    The Bucs defense was not as bad as people make it seem.
    It was worse. Go watch the 16 losses over the last two seasons. If that doesn’t turn you into a binge drinker, nothing will.
  44. Oneilbuc Says:
    Kenton. Lol 🤣🤣 how many conferences championships games Baker Mayfield played in? Because Burrow actually made it to the Superbowl man some of y’all statements are not even reasonable to believe. Lol 🤣🤣 you got to be joking Baker Mayfield is on his 4th team and Burrow is on the same team he was drafted on. Both were number one over all picks and one the same team he was drafted and the other is on his 4th team oh yeah Baker Mayfield is better lol 🤣🤣. If the Bengals wanted to trade Burrow for Baker Mayfield the Glazers would hurry up and jump on that trade. That would be the dumbest trade by any team in the history of the NFL. Lol 🤣🤣
  45. Oneilbuc Says:
    Aqualung. Can they improve yes you must be a Baker guy because I’ve seen the bucs defense be historycaly bad when they were ranked 32 in every stat on the defense as a team. This defense has kept the bucs in games just like the playoffs both years and Baker Mayfield choked both years in the playoffs when the games were in his hands to either close them out or win them. Baker Mayfield can’t elevate a offense that’s his problem to me in big games.
  46. Aqualung Says:
    The defense didn’t force one punt. Go ahead and continue on your narrative.
  47. LakelandBuc Says:
    The Bucs offense padded their stars in blowouts games
    That’s why Trask could never see the field
    They were padding Baker stats,
    Fans were outraged when Godwin was hurt
    In a game that was over to them
    My question is…who threw the pass to Godwin?
    Why wasn’t they mad because Baker was still in the game
    Padding his stats, it is, what it is
  48. Mveal2006 Says:
    Trask is a gamer, not a super practice player. Its why he’s on tge bench. At florids, he only got in due to injury, but he could do anything joe burrow, and one overzealous ref call on a joke situation unrelated to trask unraveled everything from a natty, a Heisman, etc.
    So people need to stop with the Toni grossi treatment on all of these guys..there are limited opportunities for players to max out.
    And if trask never gets a true shot, he will be a superb coach.
  49. Oneilbuc Says:
    Lakeland. They know what happened in 2023 and the Joe’s try and act like it never happened. I remember hearing lee say that Baker Mayfield is starting because Bowles not going to put his job on the line with a quarterback with no experience. Now they push Trask never had a good training camp even though Baker has been throwing picks left and right they’re not going to report it on here. So Bowles will never give Trask a shot because he don’t want a quarterback controversy because of his love for Baker Mayfield. That’s why if you notice you never hear them blame Baker for nothing they’re not even asking can we get to a Superbowl with Baker Mayfield or is he just another Alex Smith, Tony Romo or Dak.
  50. Aqualung Says:
    Trask’s ceiling is that of a weak armed Mike Glennon with slightly better mobility and pocket presence.
  51. Joe Says:
    They know what happened in 2023 and the Joe’s try and act like it never happened.
    It happened and Joe’s not trying to hide it. But you *always* ignore the fact Todd Bowles wasn’t going to place his career in the hands of an inconsistent, inexperienced guy he never drafted who had zero starts when Bowles had a long-time starter with playoff experience on his roster.
    But you *always* forget about that, don’t you?
    Only a fool can’t see Bowles’ decision was one of the smartest in the NFL in recent years. And Trask was so outraged by Mayfield starting over him that Trask RE-SIGNED with the Bucs! To be a backup.
  52. Oneilbuc Says:
    Joe. You made my point and I guess I’m old school because I believe a player should lose his staring job in practice if the other guy comes in out play him. Only fool can’t see the business side of this situation Baker Mayfield has a bigger fan base and that’s why he was gifted to staring job. And let me tell you this I don’t care what college a player comes from I want the best players on the field. And Baker Mayfield never played in a conference championship game he chokes in big moments and you can’t even say it. But what’s funny is how you talk down on Trask and then when he plays in games we see none of the bad play you be talking about. When are you going to hold Baker Mayfield accountable for those playoffs games he loses like every one do to Dak ?
  53. geno711 Says:
    The silly narrative that Trask outplayed Baker 2 years ago is just that — nonsense.
    O’Neil takes a few notes from the Joe Bucs Fan site from those two years ago and runs with it. Acts like he knows for sure that Trask was better than Baker.
    Then this year — acts like Joe is lying if he says that Trask looks like Sh*T in practice.
    Can’t have it both ways —
    1. Take Joes word for it two years ago
    and then
    2. Ignore Joes take on it this year.
    Just absurd.
    But this is from the same guy that said that Winston would be a star when he left the Bucs and that Brady would never be able to do anything here but sell tickets.
    At least admit that you were wrong on Winston.
  54. Aqualung Says:
    Get out the tin foil and make someone a hat.
  55. Rod Munch Says:
    Trask, based on reading reports over the years, sounds like he’s just not very good in practices. However he seems to perform well in (preseason) games. Coaches hate that, but I’d rather have a gamer than a practice star who can’t do squat in games.
    I think Trask has shown enough that if he was ever called on in the regular season for an extended period of time, I think he’d do OK (hopefully we never find out).
    As for the rest of practice, sounded kind sloppy – probably because as Joe noted, all the knocked down passes seemed to ruin the flow of things.
    Anyways, good notes as always Joe – thanks for doing these in detail every year. It’s too bad they don’t have all practices open to the public, but you know with the plague going around, they can’t risk having players exposed to the public, and once it passes I’m sure they’ll open everything back up. Just like how Walmart had to stop being open 24-hours a day because they needed to close to ‘disinfect’ the story – but once the plague passes I’m sure they’ll reopen full time and not use it as an excuse to just cut hours for employees.
  56. Oneilbuc Says:
    Geno711. Lol so when they say he sucks then he plays good in games it don’t add up. Then when you hear different staments who also are out there some body is lying. I rather go with what my eyes tell me than some one’s basis takes all day long. But people like you are brainwashed by these people in the media I’m not. And as far as Jamies goes he was beating the breaks out of us until he got hurt. And to all you Brady worshipers Brady had 2 hall of famers and a pro bowl runningback and that’s why he did what he did and not to mention they changed the offense for Brady. But what happened when he played with the same players in 2022 ? He sucked and remember it was the Joe’s who wanted Johny Menzel lol 🤣🤣. The difference between me and you is they can’t brainwash me to believe their narrative. It’s Conference championship or bust this year no more excuses for Baker Mayfield.
  57. unbelievable Says:
    I’m pretty sure a coach (like Bowles) is who called the huddle and ripped everyone (or maybe just the offense?)
    Sounds like they came back crisper after that
  58. geno711 Says:
    ONeil Buc. I knew it. Even now you will not admit that you are wrong on Winston.
    We all watched Winston. It was not the media that turned on Winston. It was the fans for the Bucs that wanted him to be good. Your eyes should have told you that — but you always were the stat guy — how many times did you bring up the amount of yards that he had in that last season or point out Peyton Mannings intersecptions when Manning was playing in a different era.
    I appreciate you saying you used your eyes.
    One of two things though.
    1. Those eyes have always been bad at accessing playing ability.
    Or
    2. Maybe consider some cataract surgery at this point.
  59. Oneilbuc Says:
    Geno11. The only thing I’ve ever said about Winston was the team around him and the coaches that hender him here from becoming a good quarterback. Jamies was asked to do way more than what Baker or Brady was asked to do just like I said none of y’all cared about the running game until Brady got here that’s a fact. So you have to keep the same mindset y’all had for Jamies for Baker Mayfield. But y’all don’t when we lose now it’s the defense fault or we couldn’t run the ball. In I went back and watched that KC game from last year Baker threw a pick in the red zone if don’t throw that pick we beat KC . But let me guess the defense told him to throw it so it was the defense fault. The Washington game the offense couldn’t even put up 3 points they couldn’t score nothing in the first quarter but I guess that was the defense fault as well. You guys pick and choose who gets excuses and who don’t because some of y’all follow these players on social media and I don’t. But when it comes to the Joe’s and Kyle Trask I don’t believe none of their takes about how Trask is doing. But I will give him credit on one thing is that Baker Mayfield was never in a competition and he really didn’t beat Trask out. You just read it why Baker was the starter. Lol 🤣🤣
  60. Mike Says:
    Trask practice struggles are not new. He did the same thing at Florida. When the lights come on. He balls out. At least when the line actually shows up
  61. Falconrap Says:
    Yeah, I have to echo some others here. It’s been very well known that Trask isn’t the greatest practice player. It took an injury to Franks for Dan to put Trask in, and he found out quite quickly that he should have done it a lot sooner. Trask was a stellar QB at Florida and broke some of Burrows records and came close on others. Trask was quite good in the preseason, despite playing with a bunch of 2’s and 3’s. I would love to see him just have a couple of drives with all of the starters. He was well on his way to scoring on every drive except a back-up of the back-up center threw the ball past him on one drive, and then the Bucs had a penalty followed by running on a long play to lead to the other. He also placed a potential TD pass right in front of Egbuka, who got to tied up by the DB to one hand the catch (I still think there was a bit of interference on that play).
    Baker is what he is. He’s solid overall, but still prone to stupid plays. He was also never going to not start two years ago, even though Trask was better (just not by enough to overcome Bowles love for Mayfield and the Glazer’s love of the “sales”). Regardless, I still root for Baker when he starts, until he pisses me off, which usually happens after 6 games.
    Totally unbiased reporting for Joe because Kyle overthrew his receiver in a practice session. Nole fans can’t hide their disdain for Trask.
    Trask out played Baker Mayfield in 2023 even Tampa media though Trask would be the starter that year. And when he was in college Trask got injured that’s why he didn’t start he was out for the whole the year. How many picks Baker Mayfield has been throwing? The Joe’s ain’t reporting that anymore how about Baker throwing for 5-15 and Trask throwing 11-17. They reported it because another bucs site did who was out their. But none of that matters again when is Baker Mayfield going to elevate this offense late in fourth quarters in the playoffs? That’s the real question I think for Trask or Baker Mayfield it ain’t that hard to put up good stats with the players they have around them and the play calling. A lot of y’all think Baker is the perfect quarterback and he has nothing to improve in his game. He will be good again in this trash division. It’s the playoffs and prime time games to with Baker Mayfield even in the KC game he threw a pick in the red zone if he doesn’t do that and we kick a field goal we win that game. That’s what elite quarterbacks do that can elevate their teams when they have to .
    Looking forward to another season ending turn over from Joe’s idol baker maybefield
