Would Have Been Nice To See Chris Braswell Expose Tennessee’s Camp Meat
August 9th, 2025
Invisible.
Joe does not like killing rookie edge rushers. History suggests they rarely do anything substantial — unless a guy’s last name is “Bosa.”
So even with having a meager 1.5 more sacks than you and Joe last year, Chris Braswell, Joe didn’t rip him. The 2024 second-round pick was expected to struggle.
Still, 1.5 sacks is pretty sad. Gaines Adams, Noah Spence and Joe Tryon-Shoyinka made more dents than that in their rookie seasons.
Braswell started Saturday night. He played most of the first half, even when Tennessee was playing future short-order cooks, Walgreens assistant managers and high school history teachers.
Braswell still didn’t do much. But Joe did notice Braswell got within three steps of Cam Ward and Brandon Allen, once each. That’s something, isn’t it?
No, Joe is not writing off Braswell. But Saturday night in a worthless preseason game, he didn’t do much to make fans forget about his forgettable rookie season.
August 9th, 2025 at 10:43 pm
Yeah it’s not great that he didn’t make an impact. Means he probably not a starter not sure if he will be or not.
August 9th, 2025 at 10:43 pm
No, Joe is not writing off Braswell
I am. JTS2.0
August 9th, 2025 at 10:43 pm
I didn’t watch Braswell on every play, but I did watch him on a number of snaps, and he was getting off the ball really well, wasn’t getting stood up or anything. I too would have liked to see him get some numbers, but he didn’t stand out in a negative way at all.
August 9th, 2025 at 10:44 pm
Not all second-round picks work out….. Too early to write off the Bama product as a bust but sooner or later he is going to have to contribute and because he was a high day 2 draft pick, the Bucs will give him every opportunity to make an impact just like they did with JTS.
August 9th, 2025 at 10:46 pm
“Worthless preseason game” lmao really?
August 9th, 2025 at 10:49 pm
Yeah we need to stop drafting and start buying edge rushers We have no luck on that position at all.
August 9th, 2025 at 10:50 pm
Braswell is talented and for someone to be trashing him On a “worthless preseason game” is a little premature. Reddick didn’t break 5 sacks until his third season in the nfl and from then had 4 consecutive double digit seasons.
August 9th, 2025 at 10:52 pm
Didnt break 5 until 4th season*
August 9th, 2025 at 10:53 pm
Braswell hasent even started his second nfl season yet and we are acting like he’s a disappointment lol
August 9th, 2025 at 10:57 pm
His processing looks slow and he’s not trying to get around guys…..dang I hate i pushed for him, stupid me. Oh well, we miss sometimes.
August 9th, 2025 at 10:59 pm
I was a little disappointed as well. If he can’t get past the trash he was up against its not looking good.
August 9th, 2025 at 11:00 pm
Guess he was going to shock us in a bad way.
August 9th, 2025 at 11:00 pm
He looks to be JAG.
Hope I’m wrong.
August 9th, 2025 at 11:01 pm
The “trash” he was up against? Bro he was playing against the number 1 pick on the draft and half of the titans starting offense lmao.
August 9th, 2025 at 11:02 pm
Unless the name is Leroy Selmon, we have no luck with drafting de in the 1st n 2nd round. I watched Braswell n he had his hands on his hip like a pregnant woman. Let’s not consume years on a non productive high draft pick player with hopes of his potential. I really believe David Walker was on a roll before his injury. I’m not impressed with Braswell. He’s another JTS, Gaines Adams, Noah Spence, Da’Quan Bowers, n Adrian Clayborn. Our success with drafting DEs n QBs has been in FA.
August 9th, 2025 at 11:02 pm
Braswell Tampa rushing linebacker and our 12th CB on the depth chart. I blame giving dual duties instead of focusing on RB and tight end route trees. Biwles likes his d ends to know all the routes. Even vita drops. It’s not fooling anyone dammit. I’m going to get even more drinker drunk drunk er err dar7ncker
August 9th, 2025 at 11:03 pm
Sure he played into the second half (3rd quarter) but at the point titans subbed in their 2nd, 3rd, 4th string players who were fresh. Sometimes I wonder if some of y’all actually watch the game
August 9th, 2025 at 11:04 pm
He couldn’t beat the 1st string, or the 2d, and 3rd string gymn teachers. I’m concerned. Look’s like bust. Who else didn’t show up was Dennis. Did he play? Our ILB group didn’t get going until PS players Jackson, and Bullock came in. Greer was O.K., but Jones, and Dennis did not look good. Second string D played bad, Ward has his way.
August 9th, 2025 at 11:05 pm
The Bucs are making a huge mistake, not signing a veteran pass rusher. Guys like Matt Judon are still available..
August 9th, 2025 at 11:07 pm
The film is in. The film won’t lie.
August 9th, 2025 at 11:09 pm
For anyone to say “ward had his way” is comical. Like I said, did you actually watch h the game? He played the entire first half and struggled to get 7. We don’t play 1 started on defense. They had Tyler Lockett out there, Tony pollard, Calvin Ridley. All you need to stop thinking you know something about the nfl after playing one game of madden 26
August 9th, 2025 at 11:10 pm
Hodad he hasent even played a second nfl season and your calling him a bust? Pump your breaks there and put it in reverse terry. I hope he makes you eat your words this season
August 9th, 2025 at 11:11 pm
Trade him for Hendrickson
August 9th, 2025 at 11:13 pm
Man with how he was being praised by licht brasewell should have licht it up lol. I love licht and don’t wish we had any other GM but man drafting DEs is not his strong suit. We really should bring in someone to help in that area or maybe it’s Bowles. I’m not ragging on either of them I don’t think there’s a coach who has developed more quality DBs than Bowles. Really we won a SB off the rookies he developed and all have gone on to be starters on other teams but man i don’t think Bowles can develop DEs. Maybe it’s the talent that’s drafted or maybe Bowles and staff just can’t develop DEs but I’m not mad cause we used to have Mike smith who couldn’t develop anything lol
August 9th, 2025 at 11:13 pm
Was not a Braswell fan last year when he was drafted. He is not changing my opinion so far. Hopefully, he will.
August 9th, 2025 at 11:21 pm
JTS 2.0. That’s why it’s important to get another veteran edge rusher. I would even settle for Shaq at this point. Braswell couldn’t even get a push against camp meat, what is he going to do against starters.
August 9th, 2025 at 11:22 pm
Every time I watched him on a passing down it looked like he was trying to go right through the blocker with a power rush. As we now know, it didn’t work. He didn’t even get close.
August 9th, 2025 at 11:25 pm
Braswell will be fine this is the 1st preseason game just wait y’all all hate on the kid watch when he starts balling back on his nuts 🥜 lol
August 9th, 2025 at 11:38 pm
Noah Spence 2.0
August 9th, 2025 at 11:39 pm
Jason Licht continues to prove that drafting pass rushers is a major weakness
August 9th, 2025 at 11:39 pm
Meaningless!
August 9th, 2025 at 11:58 pm
Good Lord! Creamsicle we are all rooting for him! We would all love to have him blow up this week with 20 sacks like Godzilla wrecking Tokyo. Thus far, he hasn’t shown it. And if he is not disappointed with what happened vs the Titans than THAT is a problem. It’s not going to get any easier than this. The season is not even a month away. The Bucs aren’t looking for another JTS in a long, long, long string of JTSs. It’s sounds like you are a fan or a friend. Don’t tell him it’s ok, get ‘em next time! No. Get ‘em now. Because no one knows what tomorrow brings.
August 10th, 2025 at 12:02 am
Braswell looked totally lifeless out there. No power. No twitch. No speed. No moves. No tenacity. But hey, we get to heap August praise on Ramirez and Watts some more.
August 10th, 2025 at 12:05 am
Only 1.5 sacks last season ugh. But again, just a rookie. At least our big ticket veteran free agent signing had…checks notes…a half sack less than that.
Not writing the kid off yet, but man, Licht has missed on a ton of 2nd round draft picks.
August 10th, 2025 at 1:36 am
oh boy….braswell is slowly working his way into being the next JTS…
that’s a dangerous zone to be in..someone wake chris fuzzwell up
August 10th, 2025 at 1:45 am
Yep, sure would’ve! I made a point to keep an eye on him (since I’ve EXPECTED ‘big-things’ from him since the day he was drafted). It wasn’t good. Looks like he was just able to overpower guys at the HS and College levels, due to his ‘freakish’ brute strength. He appears to have a low motor, and a total lack of motivation. Has no spark. Zero emotion. And, none of that is good. ALL killers at this level. You can’t compensate or make up for it here. It’s not gonna work.
August 10th, 2025 at 1:48 am
It was just a real weak effort. Maybe, he’s just a little slow… meaning not very smart. It looked kind of like he was moving in quicksand. It wasn’t good.
August 10th, 2025 at 1:55 am
I’m just now reading the comments… “MadMax” 💯. I’m in the exact same boat and was exactly what I saw. Unfortunately. Now, I’m not saying that I’m completely giving up on him yet… Just Sayin. He’s going to have to make some BIG changes, and GET GOIN. And, I’m just not sure he has ‘it’ in him… That Hunger. It’s not good.
August 10th, 2025 at 2:06 am
What are you talking about, “Creamsicle!?” Are you FAMILY!? That is one of THE WORST Teams in the league, & damn near got Levis KILLED last year. They couldn’t block anybody. And haha, he wasn’t going up against Cam Ward (‘Rookie’ FIRST dress rehearsal), or his WR’s. That’s just ridiculous. So, just admit it… He has NOT looked great. Nowhere, even close to looking good.
August 10th, 2025 at 2:15 am
Every. Single. Time. “LakelandSteve.” It’s Insanity. Just as JTS would go flying right off the screen LoL every-time, right past the QB, not within a 5-10 yard reach of him Lmao… Bras just runs straight into a BRICK-WALL. It’s mind-blowing.
August 10th, 2025 at 2:23 am
Spot on, “Greg.” And, you were definitely sensing what I was sensing going on there, with Mr. Creamsicle… Friend, Family, or BAMA Super Fan. Just waaaayyy too defensive, & it’s like WHYTF!?:/
August 10th, 2025 at 2:30 am
Coaching matters. Braswell could go to another team and blossom.
August 10th, 2025 at 3:16 am
Hmm then this must be another worthless article.
August 10th, 2025 at 7:07 am
Bucs told Braswell to not show any of his “NEW” moves we have heard about.
Jason better get busy.
August 10th, 2025 at 8:17 am
Joe Tryon isn’t the comp.-as TBB3 said Noah Spence is…
2nd rounder, “tweener”, Alabama pedigree can only take a fella so far.
Prove us all wrong, Braswell…we’re rooting for you.
August 10th, 2025 at 8:56 am
Chris Bustwell is hot garbage. His body language and shape tell the story. He looks disinterested in being on the hot, humid, field. He also seems out of shape as his hands are constantly on his hips, between every play, as he is gasping for air. Speaking of his arms, they are shaped and look soft like my grandmas.
August 10th, 2025 at 8:58 am
People on this site would have cut Sapp, Lynch and Barber after their first year!! All slow starters…give the kid at least a second full year before the he’s a bust comments! Silly
August 10th, 2025 at 9:01 am
Creamsicle Says:
August 9th, 2025 at 10:46 pm
“Worthless preseason game” lmao really?
——————-
😂😂. Joe never disappoints. Some of the Rubes on here think this is the 16th game of the regular season, instead of the first PRESEASON game. Bucs backup D got a sack and a pick in the short time that I had Bucs Radio on. Not too shabby.
August 10th, 2025 at 10:05 am
Braswell had 6 tackles, 4 solo….that’s not nothing
August 10th, 2025 at 12:36 pm
didn’t titans play starters in first quarter?
August 10th, 2025 at 12:36 pm
hell yeah beeej
August 10th, 2025 at 12:48 pm
it’s like the bucs fanbase picks out a guy every year as “the kid who gets picked on in school” type…
if braswell falls short of expectations in year 2…
he is “that guy”…
i guess it is what it is…let’s see how things play out…
hopefully the game has slowed for him and he gets busy out there…
if not, we need one more edge guy, or someone like a jose ramirez has to burst out the pack and fill his shoes
August 10th, 2025 at 1:02 pm
You would hope a 2nd year player would flash some in the preseason. Not sure if he’s a bust but just doesn’t look comfortable on the edge.
August 10th, 2025 at 4:42 pm
This comment section lets me know there’s alot of untrained eyes watching Braswell. I’m not even his biggest fan, but busy?! C’mon man put the pipes down
August 10th, 2025 at 8:43 pm
adam from ny Says:
August 10th, 2025 at 1:36 am
oh boy….braswell is slowly working his way into being the next JTS…
I’m with Adam, except I would substitute “quickly” for “slowly”.
August 11th, 2025 at 1:10 am
Sorry but he looked alot like JTS to me.
Go Bucs!
