Bucs Tackles Get Statistical Love

High expectations.
If Joe has to go by stats, Joe’s leaning with either Aaron Schatz and Mike Tanier, refugees from Football Outsiders (RIP), or Joe’s jumping into the stats pool of Sports Information Systems.
A lot of the heavy hitters in the football analyst world, many of whom Joe respects (including Mina Kimes, Schatz and Tanier, among others) use SIS for their intel. And no, SIS doesn’t use dumbass grades, either. Thankfully.
The SIS crowd recently looked at the blocking of offensive tackles. And when it comes to percentages of blocks that were blown, the Bucs have two of SIS’s top 15 tackles.
Naturally, the first is left tackle Tristan Wirfs. That’s a no-brainer. But right tackle Luke Goedeke is in this same group.
The Bucs are one of three teams with both tackles in the top 15. Philadelphia and Buffalo are the other two. Is it a coincidence the Bucs, Eagles and Bills are perennial playoff teams?
Not one bit.
Goedeke is in a contract season. If he continues to ball out, and stays healthy (he missed four games last year with a nasty concussion), the MAC product is going to get a nice raise next March, if not before.

Nailed it Joe! Good stuff! 2.2% that is 2.2 missed blocks out of 100! I’m guessing that includes blitzes on passing plays so… Not too shabby folks. Bucky needs pitch in on the tab for dinner once in a while?

Wires played 1,014 snaps in 2024, times 1.7% = 17.2 “blown blocks). Essentially one per game out of 60+/- total snaps per game. Pretty damn good.
Luke played 905 snaps in his 13 games, so 20 total blown blocks. 1.5 per game.

I guess the Joes did not consider Tunsil as a Texans, once he has not played for them yet.
