“I Might Want To Stay With This Brother”

March 17th, 2022

Game changer.

Ryan Jensen seemed out the door… until Tom Brady called.

Carlton Davis seemed out the door… until Tom Brady called.

Rob Gronkowski seemed out the door… until Tom Brady called.

Russell Gage may have been who knows where… until Tom Brady called.

Playoff Lenny seems to have put life on hold because… Tom Brady called.

The Bucs really, really looked like a team in transition until Sunday night when Brady decided to unretire. All of a sudden a team that, to quote Ira Kaufman, “was peeking into the abyss” with Blaine Gabbert at quarterback and several players heading to the exit signs was suddenly reloading for 2022.

And it doesn’t seem over yet.

Screamin’ Stephen A. Smith said this all makes sense. First, you have a team with a players’ friendly coach who just happens to be damn good. And he’s in a town with nice weather with relatively modest cost of living in a state with no state income tax. and all of a sudden, the greatest of all time wants to come back and equally important, he wants you to play for him.

It’s a no-brainer, SAS said, that players would flock to Tampa Bay. Especially when the Bucs missed beating the eventual Super Bowl champs by mere seconds (or a missed Ryan Succop field goal).

“I might want to stay with this brother,” SAS said of Brady’s teammates rethinking leaving Tampa Bay.

You can see SAS’s full take in the BSPN video below.Joe will just quote Davis yesterday from his press conference.

“Who wouldn’t want to compete for another ring with the (greatest of all time)?”

I’m so thankful for Brady and the last 2 years. How awesome is this!!! Until Sunday morning, I was feeling like we were drifting into the abyss. Now we’re going crazy- full speed ahead. We know we have 1-2 years max with the greatest QB of all time and we are going to do everything we can to get another Lombardi Trophy. It’s so awesome to be a Bucs fan right now!!! Go Bucs!!! LFG!!!

  4. Kentucky Buc Says:

I’ve been to the edge baby. There I stood and looked down. You know I’ve lost a lot of friends there baby. Ain’t got no time to mess around.

  9. Tampabaybucfan Says:

If we thought Tom Brady was driven…obsessed with winning…I don’t think we’ve seen how motivated he will be this year…

Sure, we may not have all the horses from last year…..few teams do….but we should be wiser and hopefully….especially….HEALTHIER!!!

  10. Woodenman Says:

    Enough money? For what?

  11. MaineBuc Says:

12-5 with this hard schedule and a great draft

  12. TAMPA BAY DEMON Says:

    ’79 Defense……

  14. sasquatch Says:

Jensen has said he had decided to stay in Tampa before Brady called.

  15. Dew Says:

Brady please call Fletcher Cox. Only 31 years old. Suh’s replacement.

  16. FIRETHECANNONS Says:

Did you not watch the video, Tampa Bay demon? That was my first thought as well… Lol Jason lick. C’monnnnn mann

  17. Francisco Guzman Says:

Rams just added allen robinson. We need to get gronk back and get some damn players upfront. Everything is so quiet right now.

  18. DaBux Says:

Between the Bolts and the Bucs life is great in the Bay.

  19. Chris K Says:

This is why I keep saying even when his career is finally over we need to give this man part ownership so he can make these same phone calls to players.

  20. Crickett Baker Says:

Jason’s name is not pronounced like SAS did. So it wasn’t an odd comment at all, TBBDemon.

  21. Steven007 Says:

Well, SAS made Brady a full year younger. And then he called Jason “Licked”. Not sure how to feel about that, haha.

  22. BUCman Says:

Just saw Fletcher Cox got released. He’s just what we are missing. Jason Licht go get him!!!!!!

  23. SlyPirate Says:

MaineBuc brings up an extremely valid topic we haven’t discussed yet.

Next year’s non-conf opponents includes every SB contender (minus Buffalo) …

Packers, Chiefs, Rams, Bengals, Seahawks, Ravens, Cardinals, 49ers, Steelers, Browns, Cowboys

Realistically, no NFCS team outside of Tampa will have a winning record in ’23.

  24. Francisco Guzman Says:

I just wonder what the bucs plan at DL is? It can’t be drafting rookie DLs and expect them to play. We need a pass rush and more with this secondary that hasn’t shown any growth.

  25. Francisco Guzman Says:

Looks like the lambs are gonna sign OBJ as well. They’re trying to land a lot of weapons as well. Yikes.

  26. Listnfrmafar Says:

JoeblowinMichigan@ Wasn’t you that wrote Brady is a quitter like Watson? Don’t you look like an arsewipe? Oneilbucyall, it appears Brady makes the Bucs better. Did you boy Jamais recruit anybody? Funny how I don’t hear all these players are coming to Tampa to play for BA, BL & Toilet Bowles. Things that make you go hmm?

  27. Alstott up the gut Says:

2 people recently cut the Bucs should consider on smaller, “let’s try to win it this year” contracts: Fletcher Cox and Logan Ryan.

  28. Francisco Guzman Says:

Our defense won’t improve Jack if they don’t do something about this DL.

  29. Bucs&Bolts Says:

Jason lick somebody slap this man he lost it.

  30. Stone crab sam Says:

    Sign suh and fletcher Cox.😂
    Game over

  31. Buc Nasty Says:

Still wanted watson because of youth

  32. Kidfloflo Says:

If u want it, u got to bleed for it baby!

  33. Defense Rules Says:

Joe … ‘or a missed Ryan Succop field goal’.

Oh Joe, no one has played that card to date that I can think of. Now Pinion blowing those punts? Yup. But Succop missing a FG? Gay missed one too as I recall. You’re reading between all kinds of lines on a one-liner simply there to further illustrate how close the Bucs were to winning. –Joe

But wait, now that I think about it, that lets our defense off the hook for the loss because the Rams would’ve needed to score a TD to win it, not just a FG. OK, we can go with Succop’s missed FG being the reason we lost. Of course, it’s probably also the reason Tom Brady came back for another shot at the Super Bowl. Ya, we’ll go with that instead.

  34. Listnfrmafar Says:

Now Watson is being a premadona on where he wants to go next. That guy is trouble. Does he want to face TB12 twice his first season back?

  35. Francisco Guzman Says:

List it might be the falcons. Anyway the guy’s acting like he has 7 Super Bowls to his resume lol.

  36. Francisco Guzman Says:

Very quiet right now. I just wonder what on earth is this team going to do with this D-line.

  37. Bird Says:

Kyle pitts tweeted earlier today “its about to get scary in atlanta”. Then deleted it.

He has same agent as deshaun watson

    I hope that is true.

I think atlanta has weakest team in our division even though carolina has worse record. Carolina just had zero qb help
Cause it is down to atlanta , carolina and saints
    Hope its not saints

    …….

    Very good points there!

  39. Tdtb Says:

I keep thinking Tom should put in a call to Marriotta. You have to figure Tom bails after this year so we’re wide open next year. An opportunity to learn from TB12 and then a chance to be the starter should be appealing to him. Marcus would be as good as Gabbert. He could be our version of Taysom Hill this year and next if Trask wins the completion next year.

  40. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Wow. Packers are trading Davante Adams to Raiders for 2 premium 2022 draft picks.

  41. Scotty in Fat Antonio Says:

Da Drama Queen won’t like that.

  42. Beej Says:

I’m starting to wonder if we’re gonna sign Gabbert to another 1 year deal. If they expect Trask to someday be the man, he needs practice reps

  43. DaBux Says:

LOLOL, Davante Adams to the Faders. Love it.

  44. adam from ny Says:

lol davante adams slipped out the door on aaron fudgers

  45. adam from ny Says:

    fudgers with an empty cupboard

  46. unbelievable Says:

Meanwhile Davonte Adams getting traded to the Raiders…

Somewhere, Aaron Rodgers is crying right now. lol

  47. Bird Says:

Yup. Packers got weaker. Love it.
    Rams are the competition

And joe still hasnt posted my comment from a while ago
Watson sounds like may be going to ATL

  48. #8 Says:

Bucs and Brady sell out and get some D! Only rams left.

    Ahahahaha poor db12.

  49. Jersey buc Says:

Y’all see Adam’s got traded to the raiders? Pouting ass Rodgers going to be crying😂😂😂

  50. BucsFan81 Says:

Rodgers did that to him self. He wanted 50 million per year and got it. So now he has to deal with the scrubs he has to throw to. Brady takes a lot less to surround him self with good players. Adams deal was crazy though glad we got Godwin deal done before that.

  51. bucschamp Says:

2 months thinking about Gabbert as qb1 was suffering.
    I’m glad it’s over

  52. Francisco Guzman Says:

Bucs ain’t going far if they don’t fix this defense. No D-line right now.

  53. Francisco Guzman Says:

Packers got picks. They likely will double down at wideout or they will go after a wideout in free agency.

  54. steele Says:

Logan Ryan, Fletcher Cox. Yes, they should bring in those two. Bring in some toughness.

Let’s get one of the beast pass rushers. Akiem Hicks, Jerry Hughes, Clowney, Justin Houston, Melvin Ingram. Za Darius Smith backed out of a cheap deal with the Ravens (after he saw how much Von and Chandler J got). Danielle Hunter might be available for a trade.

  55. Elias Says:

I think the Buccaneers need to sign Bradley Bozeman to protect Tom Brady and then sign another wide receiver like Jarvis Landry and then re-sign: Suh, Vita Vea, JPP, Leonard Fournette, and Rob Gronkowski. I think we should trade William Gholston and another draft pick for Fletcher Cox. And also sign Akiem Hicks and Tyrann Matthieu.
