Devin White Has A “Circumstance”

November 29th, 2021

This reminds Joe of a college kid Tweeting “I can get through this.”

You don’t know if he or she got a wrong order at a Chik-fil-A or was just dumped by a true love.

And that’s the point, usually, to be mysterious.

So with that in mind, Devin White took to Twitter this morning after leaving yesterday’s game early following a reaggravation (apparently) of his quad injury. He returned in the game but certainly was not himself. Joe watched White on the sidelines and he seemed to be taking his cheerleader role seriously while also trying to stay loose before he returned for some second-half snaps.

Below is White’s Monday morning Tweet.

Did White get bad football news, like he won’t heal fully until after the season? Or did one of his horses come down with diarrhea? Or perhaps he was counting on Christian McCaffrey for the fantasy football playoffs?

Joe doesn’t know. And it seems White isn’t ready to share.

    The quad is destroyed.

  2. Greg Says:

This generation likes attention but then when they get it they complain that people are in their business…

  3. SufferingSince76 Says:

What a difference a season makes. How good are the Bucs if they ever get healthy? Another Super Bowl?

  4. Robert Says:

At least his mind is in the right place. get well soon!

  5. JimBuc2 Says:

Pain. The great motivator. With warrior JPP standing next to him I don’t think DW will whine much. Heal up ASAP young man.
    LFG Bucs!

  6. JimBuc2 Says:

No posts from noted troll and ME13 hater Med Pete. Guess he OD’d. Good, won’t miss him.
    LFG Bucs!

The tweet doesn’t sound good. We need Mr. White at full strength for the playoffs. We don’t just need him on the field. We need his speed and nose for the ball. I hope this injury is something that can heal in time for the playoffs. Fingers crossed.

  8. Tampaabaybucfan Says:

He has been informed that his leg will be amputated above the knee…..and he intends to play with a prosthetic.

  9. BigPoppaBuc Says:

He probably shouldn’t have played. Good chance he sits next Sunday. They knew they needed to shut down Taylor early and they did. Get well, Devin.

  10. Defense Rules Says:

Devin probably came back too early. Kevin Minter’s healthy & playing some good ball. Bucs need to let White heal completely & hopefully get him back for the last couple of regular season games.

Same thing goes with our other starters & key rotational players IMO; we’ve got to think long-term & get them healthy. Davis, Dean, White, JPP, Marpet, AB, Stinnie … the list keeps growing weekly. We can afford to let our injured heal up for 4 weeks with no problem, then get them a couple of games & we could go into the playoffs relatively healthy.

  11. SB~LV Says:

    Ask JPP …

  12. Mike Johnson Says:

Sorry to hear about Whites injury. If this is lingering, Which it appears to be, he will go the way of JPP. Meaning he will just be out there and make a splash play or 2. Not good news.

  13. stpetebucsfan Says:

I take it positively. If he was out for the season he’d not be worrying about the challenge ahead. I think he’s talking about a season long injury where he just has to suck up the pain.

I agree with DR however. We should be giving White, JPP, Gronk as much time off and as few reps as possible while still winning 4 of our remaining six games. 12 wins should give us not just the division but a shot at home field at least in the first round. Our remaining schedule is not tough especially after seeing what Indy did to Buffalo.

Doesn’t sound good, may need surgery. I hope he’s fing with us.

  15. Brevard Buc Says:

    This generation loves attention!

Says the person posting what they had for lunch on Facebook.

  16. ModHairKen Says:

Playing through an obvious injury that could get worse is a sign of toughness, but he needs to take care of his body. When it comes time for a new contract, the team won’t care about what he did. They will only care about what he will do.

Please take care of yourself first, kid. You deserve the money.

  17. TampabayDJ82 Says:

Jeff- I bet you have never been hit in your life ! No sports , no fights , NOTHING !! So please don’t make idiotic comments about something you know nothing about.

  18. LakelandSteve Says:

They have the best Doctors and if he had an injury that if he played could become chronic or hurt it worse I don’t think the Docs and training staff would tell the coaches he is ok to play. Out of an abundance of caution the Bucs should make him sit out the Falcons game, let him get some extra rest. Kevin Minter is no Devin White but he seems to really know this defense and seems to always be in the right place. If there is a game White could miss it is the Falcons game.

  19. teacherman777 Says:

    Minter is a badass.

He is from LSU. a 3rd round draft pick.

    Minter is a vital player.

    White needs to rest.

  20. Wild Bill Says:

Christian McCaffery is a good example of a great player over worked and playing hurt leading to accumulated injuries that may have shortened his career. Playing injured not good for the long term.

  21. MrCarlSr Says:

His presence on the sideline is top tier in motivational attributes, yet pales in comparison to the on-field General that is Devin White!

    Get Well Sir!

  22. Biyonhka Kimble Says:

Praying for strength and healing inside you. Rest and healing and patience, so that you can get back to the joy of all the things you love to do. When you all are back on the field, you be well to do your thing.
