Chasing John Lynch

May 27th, 2009

Generally, it was an accepted practice for people to run away from former Bucs great John Lynch, not to chase him. But it appears the tables have been reversed.

Mike Florio, the creator, curator and overall guru of ProFootballTalk.com, claims through various sources that the NFL Network is after Lynch to be a Thursday night game analyst.

Chucky had given his word to take the job. But we all know what an honest soul Chucky is. Per Florio, now that word is out the NFL Network wants Lynch, now BSPN is trying to grab him.

Florio pretty much summed up what Joe thought when he read BSPN might grab Lynch, who also will work Sunday games for Fox replacing knothead Brian Baldinger.

Maybe ESPN wants to pay $2 billion per year the next time the Monday Night Football rights are put out to bid.

Simply put, Roger Goodell should make a quick phone call to those jackasses in Bristol, Conn. and explain, simply, to back off from Lynch unless they want all of their season credentials yanked.

For some reason, Joe just can’t see Lynch and Chucky working together. Joe’s heard from a number of eyewitness sources that the tension between Lynch and Chucky at Mike Alstott’s retirement party was so thick it would have stopped Alstott himself at the goal line.
