Winning
November 1st, 2026
Baker Mayfield didn’t have to drop much today.
Until further notice, Baker Mayfield will be the answer to a trivia question used in bars throughout the land.
Who is the last quarterback who won a game without a completion?
Not something you want to put on your tombstone or LinkedIn profile.
After the game, Mayfield tried to look at the bright side. The Bucs won. And they are now in the thick of a division race. A win is a win no matter how it comes about.
“It’s winning – that’s the way I think about it,” Mayfield said. “We won. Getting our guys lined up, making sure we are running the right run plays.
“Obviously, ball security [is crucial] in these conditions – we had some early ones. We decided to go to the shotgun and pistol sets – it’s just easier to receive the snaps instead of it coming back through your hands under center.
“So, going from there and just trying to manage the game. [It’s] time management and just trying to bleed the clock as much as possible. Just get everybody on the same page and go from there.
“That’s my job in these conditions and, listen, I will do whatever it takes to win. That’s all that matters to me.”
If you think about it, Mayfield is paid to win games. And the Bucs won. And Mayfield, the Bucs’ $165 Million Dollar Man, is getting paid.
A win for all. Completed passes or not.
Baker Mayfield didn’t complete a pass, but the Bucs beat the Falcons 16-0 behind Bucky Irving and Kenny Gainwell
Tampa Bay (3-5) set a team record for yards rushing in a game with 324, and became the first team to have zero completions since Buffalo in 1974.#GoBucs pic.twitter.com/v1fLkAB6hc

Just don’t ever let him pass again, then maybe we’ll win the rest of our games.

I’m sure he’s gonna be needed next week. If these last 2 games has taken his health from 60% to 90-95% before next week, you can’t ask for anything better.
Next time the run game isn’t working, it’ll be his turn to carry the offense to a win, it’s how team games work.
After the 5 crappy loses this year….. take the wins when and how you can.

Play action game should be clutch after these past two games

Pessimist here, so Baker is back and he doesn’t throw the ball. Why in the absolute F$&k was Daniels throwing the ball so much. Really, Pittsburg is wet dream why was Byron Leftwich calling the second half. Baker obviously shouldn’t be playing, but why can’t you create this offense with Daniels at quarterback. I don’t know I feel like we wasted the first part of the season just for spits and giggles. I’m not mad these games were won like this, pissed we lost 5 games we didn’t need to.

Don’t forget that Baker was out blocking for the RBs too

Football is a team sport and look we will rely on Baker at some point to win us games. If this tells Baker anything is that we are good so we don’t need him to press anything. We are like the Rays of football, unconventional but hey it wins games! Go Bucs!

At the end of last year they game planned around Baker so he could not lose the game. They are doing it again and winning … WHAT’S CRAZY … he still did his best to lose the game with three fumbles.
Dude is a loser. Still can’t believe they resigned him.

At some point this season, we’re gonna need the 165M man to throw for more than 0 yards and 64 yards.

Nobody better be b!tching about anything after the second consecutive domination of a division opponent, the old fashioned way. The most demoralizing to an opponent. Just stop with the negativity. Somewhere Curly Lambeau is smiling.

That’s great we finally got a good rb all we need now is a competent gm and a franchise qb then we’ll be set

The only thing that counts is what did happen. What did happen was Baker pissed of his haters because he didn’t lose the game for them. They’re going to find something to cry about one way or another.

Relegated to the sewer of the NFL. Tired of the low expectations.

They say “I am a Bucs fan”. My arse you are. They say”you can’t win against Atlanta running the ball”. Look at the stat line and score board Back Benchers.
All you so called fans and experts are exposed for what you are, miserable people that are not very intelligent and live by the words “yeah but”. I don’t remember but there was one guy who called it right leading up to this game. He called Bucky and Gainwell doing what they actually did. Great call, good fan. The rest of you Back Benchers should learn how to just shut up or leave. I for one enjoyed the win.

Lightning, I had a bad feeling about the cowboys and Panthers games. And was nervous about today’s game. Hell, I’m nervous about all of them. But the games so far that I have felt least confident in are the games we’ve won. Next week is another. I hope the juju continues.

Why wasn’t Daniels starting? Because he can’t make pre-snap reads and adjust line calls accordingly
November 1st, 2026 at 8:59 pm
If Bucs win all division games both Bucs and Panthers end up 9-8 and Bucs go to playoffs

Hey Alvin at some point your Co-Ed softball team will need you to catch a pop up or hit it out of the infield

The journey and the process and the other things are all still paramount. But winning like that is fun, too.
