Physical Ball
November 3rd, 2026
Defense played bully ball.
The Bucs are starting to morph into an old-school 1950s NFL team.
We all saw what the Bucs did on offense on Sunday. And no, “this Joe” isn’t buying that the Bucs went ground-and-pound on offense because of the weather. That was just a cover.
That was about as physical of an offense as you will ever see.
But what about the defense? Well, they had to be physical. They had to battle Bijan Robinson. Soft defenses don’t stop him.
And besides, how many soft defenses do you see pitching shutouts?
Yesterday in his day-after presser, KitKat-eating Bucs coach Todd Bowles said, heck yeah, his defense played a physical brand of ball.
“I thought we played tough up front, defensive line-wise,” Bowles said. “For the most part, we were gap sound. I thought the [cornerbacks] tackled.
“[Josiah] Trotter and [Alex] Anzalone did a great job coming downhill – I really thought they set the edge for the most part. We let them out one time and we gave up the pass at the end, but they played pretty sound football.”
There’s no way to hide it. The Bucs beat the snot out of the Dixie Chicks.
It’s one thing to play physical against the Cowboys and the Stinking Panthers and the Dixie Chicks. Can the Bucs pull that off in Chicago against the high-flying Bears on Sunday night?

MIND BLOWING STAT OF THE DAY!!!!
Who is currently #2 in the NFL in Interceptions?
This doesn’t make sense.
It’s as wacky as this Buccaneers team.
It’s not either of our Pro Bowl DBs.
It’s Alex Anzalone.

3-6 coming up
No way the offense can keep pace with Chicago.

NOT SURPRISING STAT OF THE DAY
Chase McLaughlin is #1 in points scored
But look who is at number 2?
Our 2019, 5th round Pick: Matt Gay
Oddly, I couldn’t find Aguayo on the list.

No they cannot. This gimmick only works for a short time. The NFL is a copycat league.
The Bears will be ready for the run only offense Todd is so in love with.
And his card board cutout QB will be completely exposed.
Perhaps 3-6 at the bye will wake people up to reality. Mediocrity isn’t a winning formula.

Defense can absolutely keep it up. They may not be able to limit Chicago to >20 (but they might) but they’ll give us a chance.
Big prove it game for Z-Rob and Baker. Dennis Allen has the bears defense playing with their hair on fire…. We’re going to need a creative game plan and a good start on offense.
Shout out to the tight ends and wide receivers for blocking their a$$es off too 👊🏼

STFU saying we gonna lose you say that every damn week because you’re nothing but a hater hoping the coach gets fired

I’m still laughing over the idea that the Baker Boi(s) are trying to claim Baker had a good game.
I know I’ve joked about how they’re just mindless drones who will say anything, but rather than just saying we didn’t need him this week since we ran at will – which would be a reasonable response – they instead claim he was a victim of drops (not mentioning he also ‘dropped’ the ball three times, in that he fumbled 3 times).
Anywho, if the Bucs keep winning, I don’t care how Baker plays – just don’t let him keep singlehandedly lose games like he did last year when he cost the Bucs the playoffs, and how he did in weeks 1 and 2 this year when he got the Bucs off to an 0-2 start when they should have been 2-0 with a competent QB.

this gimmick can possibly last the rest of the season, on some level…
however when teams go into the lab in the offseason, and do a deep dive and study, they will possibly solve the problem or at least learn to limit it…
in season, a lot is going on, so they can only focus so much…
not enough time, in season, to do a full blown lab study on the new 1950’s buccaneers 🙂

if baker was on seahawks and darnold on bucs both teams records would be the same. baker would be super bowl champ last season. baker needs a jsn on this team.

A W at Chicago would be epic

OK, seeing a mixed bag of ‘Yes we can beat Chicago’ and ‘No, it’s just fake a$$ hope’. I think that IF folks actually take the time to analyze HOW the Bears have won 5 games and HOW & WHY they lost 2 games that they’d see they can be beaten, and the Bucs are just the team to do it.
When Chicago’s on, they’re very good at (1) controlling the game; and (2) making opponents make mistakes. But they lost solidly to the Vikings (9-3) and to the Packers (31-7) … for those same exact reasons.
In the 5 games the Bears have won, the Bears’ defense created 10 takeaways while their offense made only 4 giveaways … a Turnover Differential when winning of PLUS 6. In the 2 games they lost, the Bears’ defense created Zero takeaways while their offense made 7 giveaways … a Turnover Differential when losing of MINUS 7 (in just 2 games).
IOW, just like the Bucs, the Bears lost because ‘they shot themselves in the foot’. In those only 2 losses, the Bears’ offense scored a TOTAL of 10 points (5 PPG average) while making 7 turnovers. In their 5 wins, the Bears’ offense scored a TOTAL of 170 points (34 PPG average) while making only 4 turnovers. And a BIG part of the reason is because their defense got 10 turnovers during those 5 wins. Sound familiar? It should; that’s the Bucs’ defense (11 turnovers in 3 wins).
Interestingly the TOP Battle yields very similar results. Bears handily won the TOP Battle in their 5 wins by huge margins (average 37:15 to 22:45). And as you’d expect, they ran the ball MORE than they passed it in their 5 wins (to control the clock?) … an average of 38 rushes in their 5 wins. But in their 2 losses, it was much closer to break-even (Bears still averaged 31:08 to 28:52 for their opponents). And they ran the ball LESS in their 2 losses … an average of 27 rushes … and passed it more (36 passes average in their losses).
Bottom line IMO is that Chicago is scary good, both offensively and defensively. But they are prone to self-destructing when playing solid defenses (only scored 10 pts total in their 2 losses while committing 7 turnovers). Of course, they’re also VERY good at making their opponents’ self-destruct, and the Bucs have certainly shown themselves to be very capable of self-destructing.
As an aside, in their 5 wins the Bears have run the ball on 52% of their plays, and currently average 4.4 YPC. And 14 of their 21 TDs total have been Rushing TDs (ranked #2). But they’ve only run it on 40% of their plays in their 2 losses (trying to play catch up using the pass?). Yes we can beat the Bears, but (1) winning the Turnover Battle will be critical; (2) winning the TOP Battle will also be critical; and (3) our DEFENSE is gonna need to be VEY VERY GOOD in that game.

Anzelone needs to get an entertainment agent. My girlfriend thinks he looks like Fabio. Not sure if he can act but he can model.

Is Chicago a good team? Absolutely! But guess what? So are the Bucs. At this moment, they are playing as well as anybody in the league. They have put the league on notice. Please believe, other teams do not want to see the Bucs right now.
Yes, the running game can sustain itself going forward. Maybe not to the tune of 300 yards every game but there is no reason they can’t rush for 100-150 yards per game… Running the ball is nothing more than imposing your will on the other team and right now, the Bucs are doing it better than anyone else.
Some of you Debbie Downers need to root for another team.
Instead of being afraid of other teams, they should be afraid of us…

Actually think the Bucs can beat da bears. Just keep running and control time of possession. There offense can’t score if they are not on the field.
