Bucky Irving Is A YAC Monster
November 3rd, 2026
Bucky Irving in the open field Sunday.
For those who watched the Bucs go all Woody Hayes on the Dixie Chicks on Sunday, running the ball 56 times for 324 yards, here’s a shocking stat from official NFL NextGen Stats.
The Bucs’ offensive line dominated the Atlanta offense. But did it?
NextGen Stats is owned by the NFL. They have sensors in players’ equipment and in footballs and use GPS technology to determine all sorts of data.
Per NextGen Stats, Bucky Irving didn’t gain a single one of his 170 yards before contact. He was hit either at or behind the line of scrimmage on every run.
Bucky Irving generated all 170 of his rushing yards against Atlanta after contact, the third-most in a single game this season.
That is just wild to Joe that Bucky was hit at or behind the line on every run, yet he still racked up 170 yards.
That’s pretty impressive.

This is why Shady was singing his praises after the game. Bucky has that wiggle to make people miss. If he can stay healthy and keep his mind right, he’s in for a special season.

Hit or touched? It’s a difference.

What did he have, 27 carries? I’m afraid we’re gonna turn him into Cadillac Williams

I may make a ton of “jokes” about Tampas propensity to finish near .500 and backdoor their way to the playoffs – but I’ve seen an article and accompanying comments saying the Chicago game is a must win. This is where I’m defending Tampa – that’s simply not fair. Caleb Williams may be the physically gifted quarterback that these damn eyes have ever seen. Ben Johnson is the best coach in the NFL bar none. The bears should be Super Bowl favorites after last night. If Tampa loses 24-20 then that’s a real positive. I wanna see Tampa compete and be in position. If they can stymie Caleb and that offense, then that’s would be really impressive. 3-6 wouldn’t be the end of the world. 4 divisional games left and a fairly light schedule. With the Bucs stingy defense and excellent running game, going 6-2 the rest of the way isn’t exactly moving mountains

He must get 20 carries a game. Stay committed to the run. Even if it’s not working it will break in the 4th qtr. Good test against bears monsters this week. I expect our coaching staff to fail us

S&M, I agree. This will be a real guage of where the Bucs are in terms of a quality football team. Get blown out, and it will reflect that the teams they’ve beaten so far are bad teams. Win or hang tough and then we’ll know they’re for real!

Stay healthy Bucky! He’s having a career year!

All going to come to a screeching halt against Chicago unfortunately….

Probowl Bucky!

Taking nothing away from Bucky. His performance was one for the ages.
However, despite a huge amount of YAC, there was no way it 100% of his 170 yards. Anyone who watched the game knows that to be false.
NextGen just took a huge shot to their credibility.

What is defined as being hit? A glancing touch isn’t a tackle.

That’s baloney. Bucky was absolutely not “hit” at or behind the line of scrimmage on every run.

Bucky may have been touched at the line – just barely. But defenders rarely get clean hits on Bucky. If Bucky is being touched or hit at the line so much, then is the OL really that good?
The Bears have a much better defense, so the Buc may have to pass the ball! Let’s see if the OL can pass block. I’m sceptical.

yes and all of this run blocking is not helping them practice pass blocking ..although its really fun to watch i just think its not
going to be good in the long run when teams stop our running game.

Bucky does something that I despised in Rachaad White. he hangs around in the backfield looking for the opening. Bucky is quick enough and talented enough to get away with that. White was not. White was big enough to put his head down and pick up three or four yards on most plays but pretty much refused to do it. It hurt us big time on short yardage plays. I’m betting it is one big reason he is gone.
Bucky does not go down easy though. Reminds me a bit of Warrick Dunn. Dunn was amazing for a 180 RB.
Go Bucs!
