The Buccaneers-Browns game in a lightning delay and Joe’s been listening to the team radio broadcast.
Longtime Bucs tight end Dave Moore is doing a lot of talking — and saying what’s been running through the heads of fans.
“Where is Rueben Bain?” Moore asked rhetorically.
Joe can’t believe how invisible Bain has been after a similar performance in Week 1. He simply is not the same player seen in practice, and in joint practices against the Jets and Jaguars.
Joe even posted on X this afternoon about seeing “Jogging Rueben Bain.” This guy is supposed to have a relentless motor and moves and power. It’s barely shown up.
As Joe said last week, Bain must be hurt in some way. Is it the shoulder lingering? Did he push through a flu-like bug last week and that drained more than he let on?
Something isn’t adding up.
Maybe the delay will lead to Bain finding a Superman moment.

He’s a kid playing against grown ass men. He will get better as he grows and gains NFL strength. His talent is real, give it time.

Anzalone is the weakest link, seems like he’s constantly out of position AND misses way too many tackles, now two weeks in a row.

Predicted a Bucs loss or an extremely close win while pretty much everyone and their brother was predicting a Bucs blowout.
Once you know that the most important factor is the head coach we have, you don’t get fooled by the hype anymore.
This season will be his last ever as an NFL head coach. Mark it down. Same as Lovie Smith when he got canned far too late.
And yes, I know he had a short stint leading the Texans but he went 3-13. That was the last proof the entire NFL needed. Same will happen to Mr. Bowles.

I seen a lot of jogging from Bain this game. It’s soo different when you watch other teams. They have speed and tenacity on defense. Offensively we keep trying screens and our blocking in the screen game is horrible. I will say I’m glad to see Cade with gloves on

I’m not writing off Bain, I never thought he was going to “takeover” from day one to begin. Very few rooking OLBs / DEs make an immediate impact.
That said, I certainly was HOPING to see more from him by now.
I’ll be concerned by week 4 if it’s more of the same.

Why is he on the field? David Walker had a sack today. Walker should play more. Again the whole point if having depth is to use it. If a player isnt playing well then he needs to cede reps to someone who is. Bowles needs to get him and Anazalone off and make them earn it

Something is wrong with him. He doesn’t have the same get off as he did. Of course it doesn’t help when everyone during the preseason is already putting him in the Hall of Fame. Let’s give the kid a break. It’s his second game and he didn’t really have any preseason action. Of course David Walker gets a sack on his lone defensive snap in the first half. What does Bowles do? Walker doesn’t get another snap until the second half.

A shoulder sprain in basically a separated AC joint. This takes a couple of months to heal and you loose all strength in that arm. But with him continuing to play it’s going to keep being stressed and will linger even longer.
