Baker Mayfield Injury Watch

So Baker Mayfield took a hard hit from Browns edge rusher Jared Verse with 10:03 remaining in the fourth quarter.
He came crashing down on his throwing shoulder.
CBS cameras caught Mayfield on the Bucs sideline poking at his armpit. He then got looked at in the Bucs’ medical tent, per CBS, and looked in pain. Mayfield also was shown to be seemingly try to stretch his arm a few minutes later.
What does it mean? That’s unclear.
But at best, Mayfield was banged up. In typical Mayfield fashion, the forced throw on the scramble was dangerous and into a crowd. It ended up being a great pass breakup by Ted Hurst. Cade Otton was open for a first down and/or a touchdown on the play.
After last season, Joe has to pay very close attention to every Mayfield bump, bruise and twist.
As Joe types this during the fourth-quarter lightning delay, Joe wonders how the Bucs’ medical staff is working to make sure Mayfield’s arm/shoulder stays loose.

If this is the hit I am thinking of, it was entirely unnecessary as usual. He could have just gone out of bounds. I can’t be sure of course if that was the one or not without looking at the film but I would wager.

This has been hard to watch. They are playing awful. Bain not living up to hype, Baker not living up to contract. Mayfield interception kept them in the game. I hate to be that guy but this whole team has been a let down so far. Defense is playing average, typical tampa defense leaving the middle of the field wide open. How on earth can this not be addressed? Im extremely disappointed in how this has gone

Hurst drops the winner. What a fraud. It was right in his hands. Egbuka was overthrown, but he seems to be really slow like most of our overrated receivers. He was kind of locked down again. It was a fairly small window, so who knows if he even catches it with the perfect throw. This team, on all levels, is @ss!!! Lol! The Tampa Bay Suckaneers! Hahaha! We deserve this though for only calling out Baker, who wasn’t great in this game, and not all the other things that are so wrong with this team. I believe Egbuka drops that pass anyways. To settle the annoying Baker debate, I now hope he gets injured so it will prove my point. Daniels will not succeed in this poorly ran, mediocre receiver, no-blocking o-line offense either. This is not a good football team, even with what you guys consider an adequate QB. There is too many problems on both sides of the ball for any QB we put on this team to compete for a championship. We will win about 5 games, and that’s being generous. Bad teams don’t win in the NFL.

Bee, how many open receivers were there? Exactly…lol! That’s why we constantly go to the check down. Do you understand football? The QB goes through his progressions, and then when he sees no one open, he usually dumps it off to the RB as a failsafe when no one else is getting open. The ones that Robinson drew up to run is on him as an OC, but a lot of this game was having a pocket comstantly collapsing within a second or two, which causes your QB to get uncomfortable and move around unnecessarily, before dumping it off to a check down. Just watch a good team with a good o-line, like Nix or Lawrence today. Sometimes they habe all day. We don’t. You’ll see the difference. I swear we have some of the dumbest fans on here. I will admit Baker overthrew some receivers on 4 or 5 passes, but they were mostly 50/50 balls since they were not exactly wide open. But Baker did throw an absolute dime to Hurst to win the game that he dropped. But Mahomes would struggle on this poorly coached, pathetic bunch of pretenders team, so it don’t matter.

Hurst dropped a contested catch with the DBs hand on the ball, not a wide open pass. Still could’ve caught it tho, like Baker could’ve made a way better throw so EE could at least get his hands on the last pass. But NOPE, another long out of bounds overthrow to end the game.
