Injury Updates On Jalen McMillan, Tristan Wirfs
August 6th, 2026Joe hoped head coach Todd Bowles would drop the “day-to-day” description today when talking about injuries to receiver Jalen McMillan and All-World left tackle Tristan Wirfs.
Sadly, that did not come.
Wirfs is nursing a hamstring pull or tear suffered nine days ago. He has not been practicing. Joe is almost ready to call it a significant hamstring issue. Today, Todd Bowles said of Wirfs, “I do expect him back at some point during the preseason.”
That’s nice. Last year, Wirfs missed all of camp after knee surgery, and he missed the first three weeks of the regular season and wasn’t quite his usual dominant self. Obviously, a hamstring isn’t knee surgery, but perhaps Wirfs is a player who needs training camp to thrive?
Hopefully not.
Bowles also addressed McMillan’s banged up knee. The Bucs haven’t been specific on the injury. “Not sure how long,” Bowles said.
Joe hopes it’s not a deep knee bruise. Those can be nasty and take a month or more to heal.

We have the worst conditioning staff in the NFL. I swear, our trainers were all rejects from a Town n Country Planet Fitness.
Franchise is worth BILLIONS. No one has a leg curl machine for our WR corps.

Look at any blog on any NFL team. It is all the same. The players are intercangeable. each team is doing the same thing including JBF. It is simple propaganda. All the teams are SB bound. So pathetic. Fans are like lapping it all up. Mods are watching for negative waves. Each teams 1st round pick is a HERO heading for stardom……

What’s next, amputation may be necessary?

Pulled hammies can on any surface. The Rays’ Ben Williamson is on his way to the IL after pulling one on the grass at Coors Field yesterday, for example.

Bucs are just being cautious. I don’t think either of these guys miss time to start the season.

Honesty obviously too much of a stretch for the turtle. Too busy telling us how he can live without Vea.
August 6th, 2026 at 2:38 pm
Headline should have been NO injury update.

Doesn’t matter! a big boy like that ,it’ll be nagging all season

Watching the Buc Camp online it looks like a modern dance class. Tiptoe through the turf. Pathetic.

Very informative article.

Honestly, these guys need some Pilates classes- that’d stretch their hammies.

On Hardknocks all those guys were pumped on the first day of pads. Excited to actually hit.
Us? Todd told our players not to hit too hard, don’t tackle to the ground.
And yet half our young guys have missed time with soreness. Still a soft team.

People on here are going out of their minds over injuries. Every NFL team is dealing with some sort of injury. Look at the Saints, Falcons and Panthers, more severe than the Bucs.

Miles Garrett has missed the last 4 days with soreness, is he soft?
Hamstring tears are about a team’s emotional bearing? Try running with one sometime and see how you feel about it.
