I say don’t sign Mayfield. Let him play out his deal then use the Franchise tag on him if need be.
Let him pout. He couldn’t win one extra game against garbage teams second half of last year. As you said, he choked in the Washington playoff game.
I say trade Vita Vea and a First Rounder, maybe a late pick to Cleveland for Jared
Verse.
I’m sure they’re not extremely attached to him at this point as he’s never played a down. They’d look at it as an extension of the Rams trade.
Imagine Verse, Bain, a healthy Kancey and this kid Walker if he’s any good.
I’m sure we can find a giant body to plug up space somewhere else.

Cleanhouse, you have a good point on Baker. Bobby made some great points about how Baker did have a hand in key losses downthe stretch last year. Sure he was playing hurt and we can blame Licht for not having a backup QB who could have went in and did better than Baker but the fact remains that Baker made unforced errors. The franchise tag is there for a reason, do not know if it will cause cap issues though.
I would do the trade for Verse as well but why would Cleveland give up a young and talented edge rusher for Vea who may only have a couple of seasons left in the tank? Bucs would be lucky to get a #1 for Vita. Love the guy but he is picking the wrong time to be sulking and asking for his bag of coin.
Great takes by Bobby. More of Fenton is a good thing!
